xoom.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives xoom.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 84.6. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 84.6 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to xoom.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning xoom.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between xoom.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of xoom.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of xoom.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. xoom.com is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether xoom.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether xoom.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, xoom.com.

“Unspeakable customer service”

I contacted Xoom to ask why my transfer had not gone through although the money had been deducted from my. Bank account. Note that this transfer was identical to transfers I have made each month for years. After more than two hours on the phone with various supervisors I was told that it might take up to 4 days before it could be confirmed whether or not there was a problem and only then could corrective action be taken. The complete lack of courtesy and unwillingness to help have convinced me to close m y Xoom account. Service Value Quality

“P a o l a the rudest representative and horrible business”

Paolo the rudest most unprofessional representative I dealt with in 6 Plus decades on earth. Horrible service 1 hour on the phone promises promises never lets the transaction go through and disconnects me with no explanation. Rude and disgraceful. With a million other ways to send money I will never use these horrible people or their disgraceful Representatives again. They should start by firing him.

“Where's my money?”

I have used the service for many transactions but recently this has become a pattern. It has been almost a month and they are still holding my money hostage. Not everyone has a hundred dollars just laying around. I made the transaction almost 1 month ago now. I had to reach out to them multiple times via phone to speak to their customer service team. They all repeated the same script back to me on the phone and on emails, including the supervisor. I told them that when they have "technical difficulties" they should at the very least CONTACT the customer, it should never have been me contacting them first. Appalling service all round. “They hold on to your money for several days”

Worst experience using Xoom to transfer funds. They hold on to your money and send cryptic emails with no clear reason why they need to hold on to your money, sometimes for a week. Only way to know what is happening is to call. But they don't really have any answers for you. I feel completely at their mercy. I will never use Xoom again. There are better, less expensive apps out there. Service Value Quality

“Cancelled transaction for no reason”

I tried to send $100 to a friend in Ghana who needed it urgently. I have done this before with no problem. This time Xoom first notified me that the money had reached my friend's bank, then a day later the transaction was cancelled, with no reason given. A call to customer service yielded the following unacceptable answer: "Our bank partner did not give a reason for the cancellation." Was it because the transfer was to Ghana? If so, that's absolutely disgusting! Do not use Xoom. It is a terrible service. Tip for consumers:Don't trust them. Service Value Quality

“I wish I could give 0 star if possible”

The worst service ever. No collaboration between departments, fraud and unauthorized activity, unreasonable account freeze. Poor customer service. If there were a way to give negative star I would have done so.

“Xoom Has Nonexistent Customer Service”

When Xoom works, it seems to work great. But if there's ever a problem, forget it! Xoom has nonexistent customer service! I used Xoom for several years to send money to the Philippines, but suddenly without explanation, they cancelled my account! Service

“No customer service”

I used this service for more than two years and had no issues until last month. The site would no longer process my transfers. It took forever to get a live person on the phone and then they put me on hold for an hour. When they returned to call they said they didn't know why my account did not work and wanted to put me on hold again. I asked if they could contact me when the issue is resolved but to date no one has contacted me. I've sent multiple emails to customer service but I get no reply. I've had to use another service but am puzzled as to why a business would treat customers like this. I could only think that they have more business than they need. Poor experience

“Dont trust if you read any positive review. They are fake..”

These guys running a scam. I initiated the transfer for an urgent need, they said money will get transferred in 3 business days and they debited my money from my account. After waiting for 3 days, they have to cancel it due to some bank limit reasons. I asked them for the money refund immediately so that i could send it via another service and they said it will take another 4 days for refund it back. So they took my money for 7 days, did nothing for me except causing lot of mental stress. Please don't trust these guys. This is not the first time I am getting cheated by them..

“Sucks”

Xoom sucks over a 10 years with them and they"re giving me crap after deducting from my bank account and still delaying my transfer specially all in emergency situations call customer service and not helping at all supposedly I have to use my debit card instead of my bank account nothing but a joke good bye Service Value Quality

“Where is my money?!”

In order to transfer money from my PayPal account to my bank account I was forced to use Xoom. I followed the instructions and shortly thereafter received a message more info required however xoom did not specify what info. I tried emailing, I get assigned a case number and told someone would follow up but no one follows up. When i attempt to call the number provided the messages says too busy, call back and hangs out. This company is the worst holding My Money hostage and I have no way to retrieve it. Do not use this service or Pay Pal for enabling this. Products used:Banking service Service

“They are now thieves. Avoid the mistake I made”

3 years I used them with minimal issues. It's been 7 days since my employer transferred my paycheck to me thru Xoom. They have a tracking number they don't ever update since day 1. Their customer service is outsourced to India call centers, so they can't help with anything at all and are very rude. No one from Xoom has reached out to my employer or answered his emails. They literally stole my paycheck! DO NOT USE XOOM ANYMORE! Service Value Quality

“Congratulations over your new policy to annoying your old and loyal customers”

Sorry for 1 star. But it was very inconvenient and hassle. I had been using this service for years and all of my transaction used to be with xoom.com now they have very inconvenient polices that will cancel your transaction lock your account and most of them they will ask you the same detail that you have provided in transaction. I understand they ask the question for security that they have to confirm if those questions are legit. But address of recipient? E.g. Recipients address - Were you making sure that someone is going to that place and see if the person exist or fake person or probably going to walk in and hand over cash! Well this is what you experienced when small startup get merged in to giant companies where no respect to quality and common sense but quantity and idiotic practice of law. You are now the last in my list for my money transfer needs

“Dumpster fire of a company falsely flags accounts”

Paypal user for over 20 years. Tried to use Xoom, was immediately flagged for "security" reasons and spent more than an hour on the phone with them trying to figure out exactly what they could not verify. They refused to say exactly what it was. But my account is now permanently flagged as some kind of undesirable and all transactions I attempt to make are immediately denied with no recourse. Their so-called customer service is worse than useless. They waste your time, demand personal details that I am sure they sell off to data brokers, and do nothing to resolve any problems. The positive reviews have got to be shills, because I can't believe Xoom is even a real company. I've met Nigerian princes who were less shady. Avoid this garbage fire of a company at all costs. Service Value Quality

“Xoom CEO's greed during these difficult times”

I just sent money to Chile, per XE 1,297.000 pesos = $1,535.00 dollars. Xoom's exchange $1,596.00 dollars + $9.99 fee. Other companies like Ria and World Remit, were not so greedy. I do understand that they have to make a profit in the exchange, but $61! Mr. Schulman these are terrible times, do not take advantage of people's misery.

“Money not credited 3 days - I received credit confirmation from xoom”

Send money thru Xoom from US to India. Got the notification that it is credited in recipient's account. I contacted customer service - It took 45 mins of repeated dials to finally get to hear a human voice at the other end. It seems like they have to check with the backend partner and confirm on the transaction status. Xoom could not give an ETA for the resolution. Service agent was so rude and abruptly disconnected my call stating there is no further update on this transaction. Service Value Quality

“Appalling customer service”

I have spent the best part of 24 hours trying to transfer a relatively small amount of money from my German bank account to a UK bank account. "It's easy! Log-in with your PayPal account" it says. All well and good until the transaction was cancelled immediately after making it. Endless disconnected phone calls and emails telling me to phone again later, I was told PayPal is separate to Xoom and I needed to sent proof of ID and residence. This I did. Then I got another email saying this wasn't good enough and I needed further proof of residence. This I sent. Then this was refused as my name wasn't an exact match to the shortened version used in my PayPal account. And guess what, you can't edit it. Called customer service and they told me they couldn't transfer me to the relevant department as they were too busy. Called the number myself, explained the situation and they hung up. In the end, I used Wise Money Transfer instead. Whole thing took ten minutes from scratch. Service

“Xoom and the ridiculousness”

First out of the blue they disabled my payment source it said wrong card type with both options debit and credit and wouldn't let me enter it. Then after two dozen transactions or more they disabled my recipient source it said wrong account number and it clearly was the correct number. Then they say it's an issue with the card issuer when it clearly was not. So I call to have my account deleted and they restricted me from using their service as if I did something wrong. No accountability just the runaround. Service Value Quality

“They block most transfers and have kids on the phone to talk to you”

I tried my first transfer he was we found it then I tried again they charged my credit card and then I got an email that I was supposed to call to confirm my transfer if 240.00 that was charged on my credit card already So they want to know why? To who? Why and the reason to send that money to a friend in Brazil. They are awful and this is ridiculous so I had my account all closed the money back to my credit card and spent hours trying to get them on the phone and then the phone call goes to another country, heavy accent you can hear this just young people deciding if you should have the transfer or not. So they canceled my transfer twice for no reason. Tip for consumers:Just a bad company Products used:Money transfer Service Value Quality

“Where sending money sound like they are giving a loan”

Once a while we have to send money abroad, I have a paypal account and they have this service XOOM I thought I can give it a try. Well big mistake after putting my order we have to go back and fort, send all documents requested, to end up just cancelling my transaction. I had to choose this service just to avoid waste of time and get the fund quickly in the hand of my wife guess what? I went to my Bank it took 20mn. Xoom 3 days and still requesting more proof...

“They're Awful!”

I used Xoom after winning $700 on Draft Kings Sportsbook. I checked my account the next morning and they took out $700 instead of depositing it! When I called customer service, they said they do that to verify the account. So you take out my money to verify the account? What kind of sense does that make? I called my bank to put a stop payment on their withdrawal. I don't trust them and now never will.

“High Fees”

The cost of transfer between PayPal prepaid and a bank account is extremely high. I opened a bank account today and wanted to transfer 5000 to new account and the fee was 99 dollars. In addition they only let you transfer 2,999 a day at 57 dollar transaction. This is robbery and PayPal should be ashamed! Service Value Quality

“Okay but...”

They keep cancelling payments. My boss has to call them constantly to tell them to pay me my money. It gets frustrating and annoying like he has been paying me for a year. Is it not common sense to know its not working?

“I have used XOOM for some time, with good service,...”

I have used XOOM for some time, with good service, but, after my fiancee informed me that the banks XOOM uses to pay the recipient makes the user wait a minimum of 2 hours in line, after the money was supposed to be authorized, I filed a complaint with XOOM. The following day my account was suspended, with the following message. We write to inform you that, after careful review, we have disabled your Xoom account for violations of the Xoom User Agreement, effective immediately. This decision cannot be appealed, and our customer service team will not be able to discuss the matter with you beyond restating the above. Nonetheless, if you feel compelled to contact Xoom regarding this decision, you may send an email to us at *******@xoom.com. Very truly yours, The Xoom Compliance Team

“ALERT”

Please stay away from this site, they are full of scammers with deceit, if care is not taken, you will lose fortunes to them and they will block you afterwards. I lost so much to these scammers and they thought they could get away with my funds but i took actions on them after i reported my issues, i was able to get back my funds back and brought them to justice. Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
