xlibris.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives xlibris.com a medium-high trust score on the platform: 71.7. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Standard. Valid. Common.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 71.7 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to xlibris.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Standard. Valid. Common. tags above. Long story short, this site's trust score still warrants a little caution. Use common sense when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning xlibris.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between xlibris.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of xlibris.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of xlibris.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. xlibris.com is a likely trustworthy website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether xlibris.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether xlibris.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, xlibris.com.

This vanity publisher published the book of a friend of mine, who put her heart and soul into a fairly personal story, but it's barely legible as there appears to have been no editing proceds on this book at all! Every single page has spelling or punctuation errors, sentences repeated or terrible spacing, the wrong formatting and so on.It's such a shame, and she told me that every time she contacted Xlibris for an edit, they tried to charge her £400! I'm absolutely gobsmacked. I could do this entire book fpr her at this rate as a friend (and writer/editor), so I'm urging fellow authors to please steer clear unless you have an absolutely diamond clean draft to begin with.Just use Kindle Create/kdp for less of a headache.
Hi my name Alexander Carstarphen jr And I would like to say Xlibris publisher company has been a great support to me in ratings of my first Book open door daddy
They're a vanity publisher, if you pay them they will publish anything. 1700 copies sold would put you on the bestseller list of that's all you want and you can buy them yourself for what they'll charge you for marketing. Not sure if it's because they're american and their reading writing comprehension is garbage or what happened but their book building team can't seem to follow a point form list of edits. I gave very specific instructions to follow about my formating for my book of poetry but continually sent the same edits without following my instructions till "I went over the number of revisions" which even in saying that they couldn't tell my how many I was allowed to begin with. I am now fighting for a refund and to pull my own book from print to keep my copyright. Use blurb or anyone else, It's been 3 years of fighting and I'm threatening to get my lawyer involved.*(Edit) Xlibris I have been trying to get in contact with my marketing team as suggested, but you responded faster here than with a direct email please have Charles call me back to arrange my refund. You couldn't deliver the agreed upon package to any degree close to acceptable and I have asked to change the marketing campaign multiple times without response.*
I wrote the Boogieman by David Mellon. They are capable of making good books. You’re their paychecks and they don’t care if you ever sell one copy.
The staff had been helpful, no matter which person I dealt with. The person who laid out the book used his/her creativity which proved to be great. The individual who worked on the cover had been agreeable and, as well, creative in the layout and design. All personnel had been accommodating in all respects.
Nice job publishing my book of poetry, called "Astor Circle". Michelle Pastramo assisted with valuable editing. By the way, this is my 3rd book wiht Xlibris and I have one more coming up. Also I'm proud to reveal the fact I am 84 - nearly 85 and all those books and one more published through Amazon were SINCE I TURNED 80! CAN ANYONE TOP THAT?SO XLIBRIS HELP ME GENERATE CUSTOMERS AND SELL THESE BOOKS. I HONESTLY HAVE NO AVAILABLE MONEY TO HELP BUT YOU WILL GET YOUR MONEY BACK SIMPLY FROM YOUR NAME XLIBRIS BEING MENTIONED NATIONALLY WHEN YOU SUBMIT MY NAME AND AGE TO THE MEDIA!
My book is amazing and I’m grateful for that. However the marketing manager I’ve dealt with Unfortunately muddled up a lot of things leaving me very anxious and upset. Yes it’s been rectified thankfully but it’s left a bad taste. I was also never told what was happening and no payment transactions were given so I lost track of my purchases. For a huge professional company I am disappointed. I would like to see a big improvement in the future with dealing with them. But I love my book.
I enjoy catching people doing things right. Travis Black at Xlibris is one of those people. He has come through for me on every occasion of my need. Sometimes he knows my need before I do and makes suggestions showing me the benefits of something, not just the features. He is always happy when I send him money, but never loses interest between times! He is an excellent representative for Xlibris, and an excellent representative for me TO Xlibris. Every company needs a Travis Black today. He knows about Life Time Value (LTV) in an age when most know the cost of everything and the value of nothing. (Who do I talk to—to see that he gets a big raise?) I’m working on my third and fourth books with Travis now and we both are ready for more together.Thank you, Travis for doing things right!
I am grateful for Xlibris not giving up on me. Although years had past from the initial contact, I was surprised when I was recently contacted and encouraged to move forward with the project. I was given ample opportunity to correct all the errors made within the text. However, due to my job assignment, I felt rushed to complete it. Patience is truly a virtue when pursuing a project such as this. I've learned so much from this process since this is my first publication. Next time it will be a better product.
I selected your services based on past experience by ignoring various offers for publisher but got very upset and confused when Mr. Travis Black ignored me to send the committed free books number for the author and even not responded on repeated contacts. At this stage I have no words to thank Mr Dustin Beeler who resolved the problem and delivered me 12 paper books according to set deal .I do not know how an author will be treated in such respect. Thank you
I felt that the process was explained logically and explicitly so that I understood the steps that needed to be taken to reach the publishing goal. I also felt very supported in being able to fulfil each of the steps along the way.Gwenda Steff
There is plenty of team effort up front. The pre-publishing phrase should be patience. I felt like I was rushed through the whole process, but after the proof signing of the cover and the interior, I did not experience the same anxiousness. But corrections were almost immediate doing the pre-publishing phrase. I felt that Xlibris was more concerned with selling products than having my best interest first. But overall I am satisfied with the finished product.
My initial contact with Xlibris was outstanding. Joseph really helped me get this to the editing phase. Without his help it would never have been published. The editing and artwork phase was just as amazing. My only negative for the entire process was the marketing teams persistence in trying to upsell me to a more expensive marketing package despite repeated requests to stop asking me and calling me.All of my family and friends so far have been loving it.
Experience was subliminal. All around plain good, fun, and exciting for that matter. For example, the person was always there to get the task accomplished. Very relieved that Id the time to work with the company. For instance, the team was always growing and with my presence. Much more to come-we can grow , and inevitably look back at what has been done!
Stay as far away from this company as humanly possible. Lots of promises that they were unable to deliver, and then if you knew the amount of hassle we went through to get a substandard partial refund, you would be shocked. If you insist on using them, read every tiny piece of fine print with an attorney present, because they'll nail you on everything and won't be able to deliver what they promise in the end. It's been nothing but an incredibly miserable experience. Stay far, far away.
I have spend almost $18,000, since 2013, publishing with Xlibris. I published my third book in January. Their copy editing was a nightmare, every time the manuscript came back to me it had so many new and different errors that I could not keep up with the corrections. The printed copy still had errors. They set the price on the hardback so high, I cant sell them. I paid $1200 for two reviews and the Bookmad Magazine, 8 months ago and have not heard a word about them. Even though I have asked repeatedly for an update. I paid $600 for the Hollywood Coverage and they slaughtered my book. I suggested some changes, and they refuse to revise it. They just give my lip service saying it was done by a Hollywood professional. I have asked for a refund to now avail. They don't respond. They claim 100% royalties, but that is BS. I only get $2 a book when sold through Xlibris and amazon.com. I feel ripped off.
I have already left a review of Xlibris almost a year ago, but now they have scammed me even more.So I mentioned that they would not pay my royalties because they refuse to pay to non-US accounts. Well, despite me setting up an American account with an online bank (Wise), they refused to pay because the bank "is not physically located in the US". I mean... come on?!Anyway, so now I have quit my contract and asked them to send me a check with all the money that they owe me since 2018.They told me that I had no open royalties, that all had been paid via wire transfer. I checked my Wise account and I can assure you, I have not received a single cent. So, on top of everything else, they are now literally ROBBING me. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY
Working with publicist was wonderful. Great at walking me through the process and feeling comfortable about it.VERY UNHAPPY WITH JAMES IN THE ORDERING DEPARTMENT. I left 7 messages over a month and he could NOT BE BOTHERED with returning ANY of my calls. After complaining a very sweet woman finally called and I was able to go forward with my order. Just wish I could remember her name
The finished product is excellent and most of the staff very helpful and professional. A little more guidance at the first editing stage would have saved many troubles later. The editors were very difficult to contact and engage. Too many unauthorized changes were made at this stage and it was too complicated to redo. Botanical works should not be tampered with, and have limited editing. Quite frustrating but overall, excellent.
I posted that I have an issue with Xlibris publishing not handling a serious issue I have with them. In typical Xlibris style they responded that they saw someone dealt with my issue. This categorically not true. I can not believe that nobody at that company of authority will ever speak to a customer. At this point I highly recommend self published authors look elsewhere.

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

www.Xlibris.com is a scam against book publishing services. We lost US$1099.00 without even signing a contract for their services. Once we saw their contract, which they do not let you see before handing over money, it revealed taking all international book rights which they do not tell you with a sales agent. They say the agreement is on the website, but that is not a contract which comes later, too late. They refused to return our money even though they did not do one thing and the manuscript, thankfully, was not sent to them. As a result, they sold our telephone number and email address to other scammers. We contacted our bank and also made a report to the FBI. It turns out this is a foreign call room representing another publishing service for Indie publishers. STAY AWAY FROM XLIBRIS!!
