“Ads Make the Site Unusable”

It's a great site/tool... when it works! I have complained and complained about the ads making the website unusable. The ads take over the entire page, making the website useless. Supposedly, you can create an account and get ad free. I would never do that now since it's the worse user experience I've encountered when it comes to reliability of functionality. Such a shame because when it works, it's my favorite site for checking weather. (See example in photo. I don't speak Spanish so if the ad is telling me how to close it without closing or refreshing the entire page, I would never know.) “Only local weather?”

I have for years plugged in zip codes of cities where I am planning to visit, but now WU thinks I might not get accurate information if I use a zip code out of my area? Are they delusional? I am deleting their address from my computer and my memory. Perhaps I shouldn't complain since I am using a free service, but sometimes even a free service is not worth its cost.

“Useless”

The most incorrect ap ever.The forecast highs are NEVER correct. Consistently run 5-8 degrees below the actual temperatures reached. It runs that way no matter what location I look at. It's 2021... forecasting is much better these days yet this WEATHER AP can't seem to get it right. The photo included shows the typical every day inability to correctly forecast the high temperature. Totally unreliable.

“IBM bought the best Weather Website in existence and ruined it”

Almost none of the longtime users and supporters of Weather Underground can believe how IBM acquired the best weather website in the world and quickly destroyed it. Those of us in tropical regions relied very heavily on this once great service to closely follow developments in the tropics. The tropics blog has been deleted from the site. The weather maps are now well below the standards of local weather broadcasting. How tone deaf is IBM to ignore the almost universal condemnation of what they did to a great non-profit website run by weather experts? Service Quality

“Poor customer service and taking away preferences”

I have quit using the website due to not being able to save preferences. Never try to contact anyone as usual no response. I think I may disconnect my weather station from Weather underground in protest. I wonder if it is IBM making the changes or Watson can't handle the data. Service Value Quality

“Information supplied is great, BUT”

Information supplied is great, BUT, when 25% or more of your radar map is taken up with crappy ads, and full screen ads are thrown in your face, I bail immediately and have been using a different service. Used to be great but IBM has screwed up yet another useful service. And proof of service demanded to submit this? Really?

“Very disappointed”

I paid for a yearly subscription. The radar does not predict. It only goes from past to "now". I want future predictions and can't find a way to get that. Even free aps have future predictions. Service Value Quality

“It's service continues to decline.”

Unfortunately there is no end in sight for bad service on weather Underground. They have now announced that they are discontinuing their webcam service. This is one of the few good remaining features from the original service. You could actually see freeways, streets or any type of weather activity in your area via a live view, using a network of volunteer cameras, instead of just relying on satellite or radar. It's a sad sad day for weather enthusiasts and for the people who rely on the service. Service Value Quality

“Ghastly”

IBM now own this weather app and since they took over it has been getting worse. Now I can't even log in to the site which IBM (a computer company) own. Shocking. The call sign of my weather station keeps getting changed. The help service never responds. The app is getting inaccurate. The weather stations (all of them) are apparently now not reporting. What is going on with you guys. I can't believe that you want people to pay for data which they give to you for free. This is our data and you want to charge us for it? DREAM ON. I'm leaving you. “They made the history section practically useless to navigate!”

Their history section used to look a lot better and I thought they'd update it further but since 2014 they kept stagnating it then eventually all but removed it! Their history shows very little info now and their monthly totals are broken where most stations used to show data sometimes back to the 1930s!

“Terrible service”

What is the matter with weather underground site. It is more not working than working. Every time I click on the prompt it does nothing at all. This is a terrible site to get weather Doppler or any other info. Concerning The weather in my area. It will not load.

“Wunderground went down fast after IBM bought them”

It was decent before hand, but now with 404 not found links, many re-directs to weather.com video snippets and longer than ever loading of 10day and hourly forecasts, basically its time to leave wunderground behind. Just get it over with and bury it. It had its day and IBM ruined it with ads, premium service etc. Service Value

“Weather Channel kills Wunderground”

Had been a subscribed customer for 10 years (about). I knew that when the Weather Channel bought WU that it would soon go down the crapper. Service is their main product and they fail miserably no replies to several emails for minor assistance on the web site.

“How The Mighty Have Fallen”

WU used to be great, but since IBM took over they have continually gone down hill. Mobile app has trouble all the time. Radar doesn't update properly. PWS stations are intermittent, and customer service is non existent. It's sad to see what was once a staple in the weather community allowed to wither and die.

“Change it back!”

The new format stinks. If it doesn't change I'll be forced to find a different weather service after 10+ years of using Weather Underground. How about some Beta testing before dumping junk down our throats?

“Everything is broken”

Intellicast used to be a super-useful website! Now that they've merged with Weather Underground, it's turned useless. For some reason, links don't work and take forever to respond- and when they do, they go to the completely wrong page. I've been randomly redirected to the San Fran forecast more times than I can count. I live in MN. Also have clicked on past searches for my city and instead, Minneapolis, Germany comes up. Major fail.

“Can't go lower than 1 star... too bad. It should be "0" stars”

I can only reiterate other comments. They used to be great, seems after the Weather Channel merge it rapidly went down hill... They will never answer a request or question on there help page. “I used to love Weather Underground”

I had to delete Weather Underground from my iMac, iPhone and iPad because it not only kept crashing but would affect my other apps and overall performances as well. What a terrible company. They don't seem to care at all. Stay away!

“The site is now worthless”

This site is now useless, doesn't give current conditions, need to check two sites for longer term forecast, slow to load, junk. And I've looked for other sites and they are even worse. Someone could make serious money by giving us folks what we want

“Great site - offensively slow”

This is one of the best weather sites, but I rarely use it because it is offensively slow. It's clear that many others share this opinion, so I can't imagine why they don't change their slow loading ads for quick gifs, or whatever. They would get high ratings, and consequently, better ad revenue. It's truly a mystery to me that any company would think this is wise marketing.

“What happened?! - Better now”

Updating my review from 3 weeks ago where I assigned 1 star - now giving it 4 stars since the graphs have reverted to how they used to look. Glad that IBM is responding to all the recent terrible reviews. Still not 5 stars because the top of the display still shows a giant temperature readout, which is a waste of screen real estate. WU was my favorite weather app and I turned a lot of people on to it. Now it stinks. Great graphs have been replaced by much sparser views. Time to find a different weather app...

“Why does every good site get eaten by nasty oligopolistic data-driven(whoring) companies?”

Its been five years already I believe since IBM acquired it. Wow - such a bad experience now in 2020. So they own weather.com also - what else I don't know. What I'd like to see is the U.S. government set limits on the extreme number of businesses these few large companies play in. I want someone with a brain in government 20 years later - but I guess that is too much to ask. I want fellow citizens that don't use nasty data-whoring company services - that stop shopping at Amazon and Walmart - and people with the dignity to understand what these nasty companies (like IBM, Google, Amazon) are doing - and they ARE thoroughly screwing up the economy for the average person.

The latest change to the format has once again made it worse. Really, why dumb it down even further. I realize a good thing doesn't last forever, but you seem hell bent on changing things for the worse and driving away the people who use it the most, the weather fans who support you. Still here today but yet, gone tomorrow.

All I can say is I'm glad I didn't pay the three bucks or five bucks whatever they want for this piece of crap app the great until now. Now I see Weather Channel bought it. That explains everything. Uninstalling today

“Four stars is how I USED to feel”

What used to be a comprehensive, incredibly useful and user friendly website is now lost somewhere, seemingly without a plan to do anything about it. Four stars is how I used to feel about Weather Underground. Now it's just the one star. I hope that it can soon return to the four it then deserved.
