wordpress.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives wordpress.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 87.7. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 87.7 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to wordpress.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning wordpress.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between wordpress.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of wordpress.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of wordpress.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. wordpress.com is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether wordpress.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether wordpress.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, wordpress.com.

“Awesome blogging platform”

WordPress is a wonderful place to blog, to express yourself and not be judged. You can write about just anything without any experience; take your time to figure out your niche. There is a learning curve that takes time but doable. I enjoy writing in response to the prompts and the photo challenges.

“Extremely decent resource”

Great site for building your own blog site. Good plugins and pretty standard cheap format without too many bells and whistles. Made 2 sites from WP over the years and while there are more 'luxurious' systems, this place is just a great value for the side projects. Will be back again~

“Wordpress is a great free software”

Wordpress is a great free software. The only flaw with it though is because it's so well known, it's very exploitable. Hackers exploited the page code (even though I had the most recent version) reformatted my entire wordpress and then posted messages saying you're been hacked numerous times. My guess is the goal is they want to blackmail people and get them to pay them to stop. Luckily I was able to eventually fix this but it was extremely frustrating and it's the ONLY downside I have ever had with using wordpress software.

“WORDPRESS IS A GOOD PLATFORM FOR EVERY WRITER.”

This platform is very good platform for every starter. There are automatic scheme is very good. They are providing good security, email free service, chating option to help any time. Giving quickly answer to the blogger. All team is working promptly. Everyone has very helping nature. So i will recommend to everyone that please use this platform to start your blogging business.

“Great site”

I love this site they are absolutely great. I just started my very first blog and was completely clueless as for how to set it up. Wordpress made it super simple by helping me get started and customizing my blog. Now I've made three posts to my blog and it's running smoothly along! I would recommend this site to anyone just starting out with a new blog.

“Overrated”

I have read some of the reviews that people have posted for wordpress and they say that wordpress is the best website maker out of weebly, wix and wordpress. I have used it and it is terrible. You can hardly edit your website and without an upgrade, you cannot do anything. I would definitely not recommend this.

“Awesome”

Thanks to WordPress, I was able to start a blog and find other awesome blogs to read. WordPress is easy to set up, and the people there are great! If you're looking to start a blog or website, try WordPress.

“If you want to start a blog or a website, this is the...”

If you want to start a blog or a website, this is the eaiest site to use. I've tried blogger and some of the other sites but this one has the most bsng for your buck (it's free to bloggers). Blogger does this weird thing where it puts the text ina foreign language if it detect the ip outside of the U. S and to this day I can't seem to change it. (nor could my visitors. They change their settings to English but blogs still came up in foreign language) You won't be sorry with Wordpress

“Flexibility is good!”

The level of Flexibility that wordpress gives to its users are 100% awesome. The downpoint that I can think of is that there's a lot of plugins out there and no set of recommendations are in place. Overall its a great platform for websites!

“Used to be decent, now terrible”

I used to like Wordpress.com - used it myself and recommended it to clients. But over the last couple years it went downhill to the point of being completely unusable. I just spent two days creating a website for a new client and it was so bad that I gave up on it altogether and will no longer use it. To start with, Wordpress.com got greedier and greedier, moving more and more features to the most expensive plan and adding more and more Wordpress.com branding to the lower priced plans. Basically, if you are not paying them $300 per year for a single website, forget it. There's always been the infamous footer begging every visitor to sign up for Wordpress.com (because is there a single person on the planet that doesn't need a blog, I guess?) - it used to only show on free plans but now it's even on paid plans except the $300/year plan. Now there is also a huge header too, so it's the first thing your visitors will see. As if that's not enough, there is also a floating menu (meaning it's always there even if you scroll down) asking visitors to log in or sign up or report your website for inappropriate content. I repeat, all these are on PAID plans. In addition, the very useful HTML editor is gone. The new source code editor is actually proprietary markup that is impossible to decipher even for experienced and highly technical users such as myself. In conclusion, Wordpress.com used to be decent but now is a flaming pile of garbage.

“This is another great blogging platform”

This is another great blogging platform. You can post pictures and video content. They also have easy to read charts to see how much traffic your blog is getting. This is a fun site.

“Simple to use and gets you a high search ranking website in a short time.”

Simple to use and gets you a high search ranking website in a short time. Great bloggin platform, no wonder this company simply the best all over the world

“Hello,”

Hello, I know worpdress.com is famous and has a lot of success. However, their service and products are in fact quite average if not poor in many cases. I created a blog twice with them, or at least I registered twice. The 1st and 2nd time, I've never ever received any activation emails. So I never could activate and create these blogs. Of course, I tried to contact the support. But as you know, wordpress.com has no support, they only have a huge Q&A database where of course the activation problem is completely ignored. I decided to write to their "VIP" services in order they could solve this activation problem. I did so and guess what? I never got any answer. So, wordpress.com has no real support, if something goes wrong, you are on your own. You pay or not for it, change absolutely nothing. Secondly: I browsed a number of website using worpress, they all have the same issues: full of trackers, scripts, useless java and very very heavy to load. On top of that, wordpress.com or any other site using their products, bugs are frequents including complete freezing (meaning if you are logged in you have to start everything over. To conclude: 1. Huge technical issues 2. Activation problems 3. No support (paid or free products) 4. Too many scripts, trackers etc... 5. Crashes and freeze Popularity leads sometimes to arrogance and growing too fast leads always to total chaos. I will go for a more caring, professional, lighter and smaller provider

“Excellent site”

Thank you team for the tremendous growth. I have got a lot of success due to you. Your team is doing a great job Service Value

“The best in CMS. Some of the user blogs on here need...”

The best in CMS. Some of the user blogs on here need some work but it is great way to review personal blogs. Some good, some bad.

“Music promo”

Moosic Afro Market is here to put you in the spotlight you always wished to be Promote your music with me and be sure to be star.

“It is great”

It is great. But It has so many charges collectable. The template is rich, Good user experience

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
