Probably the worst, dishonest company to deal with. I purchased my hat, but instantly figured out it was too small. Returned the item instantly. I didn't have a problem with the returning cost. However, they told me on receipt of my hat it was dirty, so they refused my refund. I bought two hats from village hat shop for the Black Friday sale. One was a corduroy kangol hat and the other a wool newsboy cap. Both came nicely packaged and in perfect condition. I was a bit nervous because I only saw negative reviews after I placed my order but my experience with village hat shop was positive despite what other reviews say. When I was in San Diego in June 2022, I was recommended the store for a Fedora hat. A Staff member explained every hat and got the light brown Fedora I was looking for. I just found the stores site online and ordered the white and black including the feathers.I'm currently in Philadelphia and received them quick. In my opinion quite a dishonest merchant; they shipped my order via FedEx which was delivered to the wrong address and I did not receive my order. Once I opened a claim with paypal they said my order was shipped and washed their hands. I would suggest you do not buy from them, I guess Brexit is having a big impact on their cash flow.
Phoned up Village Hats after having placed an order for a Dorfman Pacific as had subsequently read about them coming up quite big. I got through immediately and the person I spoke to was extremely helpful as he went and measured the particular hat, then gave me the option to cancel the order or let it arrive and see how it fits in person. Bought a hat from this company, the hat never arrived, they said it was lost in transit. This took a month messaging back and forward and no help at all. They finally refunded the amount, minus $32 For their stuff up, shocking customer service. It's a lesson well learnt! Be careful guys!

I understand the need for small businesses to have the customer pay for return shipping, however, the price of return shipping makes exchanging a hat for a different size barely worth it. For a hat in which I paid $50 for, the return shipping to get one size smaller was $38. Now instead of a $50 dollar purchase, I am close to $90 down. The hat is overall nicely made and I enjoy it, however, in a business where often more than one purchase needs to be made to find the right fit, this is borderline scummy.
