A friend has a cracked card. He's been getting the run around getting a replacement card, Having 19 years banking experience I called and asked the representative a question. This company has been holding my card saying I need proof who I am sent them my driver license that I renewed a couple months ago they told me it's expired then they want my birth certificate and S,S card. They put a fraud on my card when I used my card for walmart plus. Their customer team canceled my card without notification, extremely rude employees are no help, and I found out I can't use my card practically anywhere online. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE 🤬🤬🤬 Direct Express agents were incredibly rude to my parents and absolutely unhelpful! I helped my mom send all the required documents, including her Social Security ID and birth certificate, which she submitted already. We've been waiting for over 24 hours for them to verify her identity, but they still claim they can’t confirm it’s her. Now they’re holding the money on her card—*my money is there too!*—and they’ve gone ahead and blocked the card. This is completely unacceptable! Now they're asking her to go social security office but she told them that she I already went there to update information and she changed her last name this is ridiculous. Time for my parents and I to file a complaint I had enough of this.

It says on the Website that customer service is available 24/7. I find this untrue. Most of the time when I need help with my account I am either on hold for an hour or more then after getting no one I finally hang up in frustration. If it says that Direct Express customer service is available 24/7 then they need to hire a lot more people to take care of the needs of account holders. There should be a place for 0 stars. My card was locked without my knowledge. They requested info in which I gave 3 times. I got a so called approval for verification and STILL cannot access my account. When I sent them another email. I got a returned reply back with the initial request for personal info. This is the WORST pre-paid debit card ever.. up until around 1 year ago, it wasn't great, but it was ok..now you can't pull all the cash off that you need ..they limit it, but NOW, my card do not let me purchase anything nor pull any money off whatsoever...the last time it allowed me to even make a purchase, was Nov 3rd.. “Customer Service Impatience With Seniors/Elderly”

I was on the phone with customer SVC., and the Rep repeatedly tried to rush me off the phone. I believe in general that elderly is negatively-treated all across the board. Also the Scammers target the elderly. Dir Exp needs to have more patience with elderly.

“Direct Express is crappy.”

DE (Direct Express) caused me to be homeless. They destroyed my life. They steal and lie and they're very unhelpful. They blocked my funds and refused to send me a card or unblock them. They're hard to get a hold of and IF by chance they are available, they're hateful and mean. They don't know wtf they're doing. They rudely told me to send by email all this ID crap which I did...SIX TIMES! Still it wasn't enough. I think they're doing this on purpose just so they can steal people's identities. They're gonna close and I gotta go back to the bridge before I get arrested I hope DE gets shut down forever.

“Customer representatives are the criminals”

I've had this payee account for over 8 years and I've never had issues up until August 1st 2024. I recieved a text message stating that I had changed my pin. I called the number on back if the card to fix this issue, I did not change my pin. Representative helped me through the process only to ask how much I recieve. I thought that was suspicious and hung up. When I called back I spoke to another rep and they reset my app account after telling them my situation. Everything went fine until my money was deposited. I called to make sure it was there only to an automated response saying I needed to activate my card and would be put on hold. I was on hold for 40 min to an hour each time I called. On 8/1/2024 I started trying around 7am. I called throughout the day and intothe second of August. Still have not spoke to anybody and still have not accessed my account. Each time I'm on hold it goes over an hour waiting for somebody. Only number I have is back of card. All other numbers get directed to that 1115 number. I've called the bank that provides the cards with no luck, all they do is say I have to call direct express. Us treasury also says I have to contact direct express. It's frustrating and impossible with one number that is automated and does not transfer me to anybody.

First they were very rude. They shut my account down with no warning. When I got declined at the pharmacy they told me it was for suspicious fraud and for my protection. They never provided any proof for this. They said I will get a new card in 10 business days. It is a long time to go without food and medicine.

“I was satisfied. Now I'm having problems?”

Last several years I had no problems. And then I had to request a new card because money was disappearing. Well anyways the card never came so I tried contacting customer service and it tells me when I requested a new card and transfers me to a recording saying heavy call volume and hangs up. Not one day not two days, but Six days now. I would be happy if they let clients know what is going on with the customer service lines.

My account had fraudulent charges. I was able to get through to a representative. The next day, more fraudulent charges. The employee i had spoken to had not locked my card or begun the process to refund me. Spent much time on the phone with a supervisor to try to fix. Also I am regularly blocked from purchasing from any company they don't approve of. This even includes etsy.com and once it was costco, the censoring is absurd and insulting.

I waited over 2 hours the other day on hold just to be dropped when they tried to transfer me.Since starting SS disability I received 2 payments on 2 different cards.
