I was charged $30.00 for a subscription. Since Customer Service NEVVVVVAAA RESPONDED NOT sure if that charge would have been monthly!? Certainly tried multiple times to contact them TO NO AVAIL! BTW… My research found... "The tiers start as low as $5.00 per month..."
BEWARE OF SUBSTACK.COM. They take money and don't respond
Last week I found an article, on PepeLivesMatter I liked and subscribed to it, filling in a form to pay $5 monthly. Then a few recommendations popped up, and I browsed them. Nothing else I liked, so I signed out. The next day Substack emails thanked me for the $5monthly subscription and for a payment to someone I never subscribed to, something called Planet, but I had $60 taken, without my filling in any form for this action. I replied immediately to cancel this and ask for a refund, to Substack AND the site 'Planet,' explaining this must have been a mistake on their side. It took 3 hours to cancel the card payment, which just brought us into a 'dispute.' There still has been no response from Substack or Planet. We cancelled the subscription, and they said benefits will continue until Aug 21,2023. They also stated time paid will not be refunded! See photos of proof. As this money was taken without my permission or filling in a form, and I informed them, they are ignoring this error on their part and are not refunding me. I am very annoyed and will never use Substack again. NOR SHOULD ANYONE ELSE RISK IT! This is surely very suspicious.
