Apple Watch app does not work and Subaru doesn’t have a fix for it. Also when starting from my phone, I always get an error. CVT makes a screeching noise when accelerating swiftly from a stop.
The two last Subarus I bought new have had CVT's go out before 50,000 miles. The last one a 2019 Subaru outback has been a lemom. Three batteries, fuel pump recall, terrible navigation system prompting a class action suit, etc. I was advised to take it to the dealer for a DCM check that causes battey drain. The parts were so faulty they warranty them for 100,000 miles. The dealer said it would be $199 to check it. Subau advocacy promises and lies. Below is just a small example. I hope you are well. I'm sorry that I would not have your service records to provide. My recommendation would be to request your service records from each respective Subaru retailer. I will be following up with you on Wednesday, 12/18. Have a nice weekend.I hope you are well. I am following up as promised however, the lemon law review is taking longer than anticipated. DON'T BUY SUBARU. You may get a good one if they make one. The CVT's before 2019 were so bad that they had to extend the warranty till 100,000 miles. They replaced fault DCM's with defaulty ones. The navigation systems are terrible and they changed companies from Tom Tom to who knows what.
I had bought a set of 4 tires from a Subaru dealership in north Texas. My daughter ended up on the side of the road with a flat tire. Luckily she was assisted by a tollway workerto put her donut tire on the car. She drove three hours home on the donut. We went to a Subaru dealership in South Texas to repair/replace the tire as needed. Well...even though Subaru dealerships are connected for pretty much any other form of maintenance or part history, they're not connected on tires. So they replaced the tire. Since they had no connection to the other dealership, this tire was replaced without interacting with NATIONSAFE, the apparent tire warranty company. Even though this was a coverable event, NATIONSAFE denied the coverage because they weren't notified of the event prior to.As it stands now, I would avoid buying any tires from Subaru if you expect the warranty to be supported.I'd be glad to update this review if the problem is resolved. This tire should easily have been covered by warranty.
I bought one of the infamous 2002-2014 2.5l Stuparoos with the FAULTY HEAD GASKETS. They knew about the problem but did NOTHING to help customers who had to spend over $3000 to replace them or risk engine failure. All these years MUST have this done or the dealer will NOT accept it as a trade-in. I wrote letters and requested a $3000 credit on a NEW Stuparoo. NO DICE! I told them that other manufacturers offered AWD sedans and went with a Toyota. Very pleased! I've warned my friends and some didn't listen. Well, it seems the newer ones will leave you stranded (doors won't unlock and push button start won't work). Software glitches are draining the battery and Stooparoo has been unable solve the problem. "A lawsuit alleging that some Subaru vehicles have a design defect that causes the battery to drain. You can file a claim online or by mail at subarubatterysettlement.." Before you even think about a new Stooparoo, talk to owners of recent year's models. Most of them have horror stories! Read the reviews here. Also research ALL of the class-action lawsuits.
Subaru warranty extension programs is the worst ever I am so disappointed appointed with them. The customer service sucks. I will never ever own another subaru because they don't like to do recalls and also don't like t9 give you money that's owed. They are terrible.
Took a week to get an advisor on the phone. Offered no help at all to a super loyal customer. When I told him I was thinking of going to Toyota, he said “sorry to hear that.” No loyalty program offer, nothing, and I’ve spent over $50,000 with this company over the years. I’m done
Owning a new subaru was the biggest mistake I have made in my life. And I have made some big ones, bought a 2019 subaru Ascent premium fully loaded in november 2022, in february 2023 catastrophic engine failure due to manufacture defect almost took my life and my children's life. Over the course of the next 9 months Subaru installs 3, yes THREE new shortblock engines as each time they replaced it a catastrophic failure occured within a week. In 9 months, and three engines later, I am told two payments would be made as a goodwill gesture. Subaru never maid the payments, they told me they did, I was told "We'll take care of it with Chase, it is the least we can do" And then I wake up to my car missing from being repossessed illegally, no notice of risk of default, missed payment, no courtesy, then no notice to sell property, just a letter of deficiency saying they sold my $43K car for $10K leaving me with the deficit. Scum. And yes I am suing.
Sunroof on a new Forester leaks. Dealership can't figure out why, says it's fine, yet it still leaks. Damage is not covered by warranty and Subaru of America takes weeks to respond and when they do, they don't take any responsibility.
Disappointed in my new Outback and the poor customer service. Brand new car came with an ant infestation and poor air conditioning. The ant infestation became apparent the first time I drove the car after getting home from dealer. Air conditioning "cools" the car to 80 degrees on maximum AC setting. This is my 4th and last Subaru.
One of the absolute WORST corporations ever! My experience doesn’t come from a dealership, it comes from working at one of their distribution centers. Apparently, anything goes for Subaru. Blatant acts of insubordination from other employees and management does nothing. They tell you you’ll get a sign-on bonus at your 90 days, you’ll get nothing. They basically lie right through their teeth and could care less about doing so. Screw this company!
My 2021 Outback had the battery replaced 3/22, now its 11/04, and I have needed roadside assistance 8 times since Oct 6. They want me to drive 160 miles to Vegas dealer to diagnose and replace battery. Many calls and emails, getting nowhere. My passenger side seatbelt alarm chimes non stop, have been waiting on the new sensor since August.Last Suburu for me!
I have read all the bad reviews and do not know which dealership they are referring to.. Try the Subaru on Newtown Road in Danbury Ct. I am pleased with there work...Today was a simple oil change, great news,:), but always bring my car here. The service manager Art Azzarito, and the general manager, Corey Henderson are the very best. They Care. Very pleased.❗
As James May said when testing the 2005 Outback for Top Gear "This car is built to last for generations", and he may be right. My 2007 Outback hasn't needed any repairs so far. It can always be trusted to work, even in temperatures down to -40C (I live in Norway), and it doesn't get stuck in deep snow or slippery mud. The downside is that Subarus are generally boring and old-fashioned compared to many other car makes.
Very disappointed with the declining quality of Subaru cars. My first Subaru was a 1979 Brat. Three Foresters and a Crosstrek later, I can tell that quality is going down. Most recent is my 2015 Forrester with computer problems at just 20K miles. The Integrated Body Control unit costs $431 another $400 in labor at my local dealer. Should never have had this problem!!!
Very disappointed with Subaru of America help desk. They kept transferring me and giving me wrong numbers and information about an issue I was having. First time I was transferred, they immediately hung up on me. Their customer service needs A LOT OF WORK and TRAINING. No one seems to know what they are doing at Subaru of America.

The service made a mistake. Filled my engine with extra oil and let me drive my car with zero brake pads. Instead of helping me, Subaru of America took the side with the service, which had cost me time and money and put my life in danger. They call themselves consumer advocates, but it should be advocacy against consumers.
I had Subaru build me a 2021 Outback Touring XT with every available option. Just under $45K. Plan to lease it for two to three years. Same as the 2016 one I had built. Usually drive a BMW "M" car, but moved to the northern latitudes. Every aspect of the process was flawless - configuring and ordering, leasing, and most of all, driving the vehicle, which is quite exceptional, even compared with my BMWs. First scheduled maintenance next week, but so far the car is, again, flawless, fun, capable, and in metallic white, a standout beauty. I plan to replace it with a similar one in 2023 or 2024. It's a no brainer.
I have come to the Subaru Dealership in Hickory twice in the past month for an issue with my car. I have felt very unsafe there because most of the employees and technicians are not wearing masks. I have to come in close proximity to them to get the work done on my car. I do not understand this disregard for the Governor's order during this pandemic. When I mentioned it to an employee, she became offended.
I have been a Subaru customer for over 25 years. During the 25 year span, I always lease two vehicles every three years. Recently, I was informed from Evergreen Subaru that I needed four new tires after only 20,000 miles. As a result, I called Subaru of America and asked them to resolve the issue. They were willing to credit me with $500.00 towards new tires but did not credit me for mounting and balancing. Bear in mind, the OE Bridgestone tires wore prematurely and I always rotate my tires in a timely manner at Evergreen Subaru. Therefore , I was very disappointed to learn that Subaru of America was unwilling to cover the cost of mounting and balancing of over $300.00Never again, once the leases are up I will try another car manufacturer, possibly Volkswagen or perhaps another competitor.Signed,Very Disappointed

Love this small car. It is nothin special, not so nice looking, not impressive, but super reliable, never lets you down no matter the weather. Living in Montreal it always amazes me how this car starts under any condition, even after several weeks being parked outside. I strongly recommend the unique safety and stability of this car on any surface conditions, it is simply awesome.

I love my Impreza and have helped 4 friends to empty out their homes when putting their homes on the market. My daughter had a BRZ thatflipped on black ice a few years without a scratch on her. She immediately replaced it with the same make and model and has it years later. Subaru makes a quality product and I love how safe they are.

This is my fifth subaru outback and 7th subaru in my life and willing to get more. Very reliable and nice to drive. Only down point for outback is electrical issues and short lived bulps. Impreza is nice but honestly has a veey thin metal outsde and can easily be scratched. My wife has forester it is kind of small and ride is not that much comfortable but has better quality interior than impreza
