Is shopee.co.th Legit?

“A lot of bad / scam sellers that just got away selling”

I found shopee could be good as lazada alternative that offers lower prices. But beware. There are a lot of bad sellers who just got away end up selling on shopee. Mainly electronics (cellphones, etc). Their trick is selling as normal, but when we paid (to shopee, luckily), they will ask your contact number. From there, these sellers then explain 'situation' that they can not accept payment through shopee and will ask you pay directly instead. They will of course - refund you the payment you made to shopee - because it never reached them anyway. But then, since it's a refund, you will have your money hanging in the clouds for 45 days. I have 19,000 THB now hanging in the clouds between shopee and my bank. And for this Shopee won't help. Even after you report this bad seller, the next day you will see the same bad seller who almost scammed you selling again on Shopee. And shoppee doesn't seem to care. So could be good, if only they would care more about their customers. My suggestion would be, always use bank transfer instead of debit or credit card. This way if something like this happens, the refund will be faster. Not f. G 45 days. This is my experience with shopee.co.th (Thailand). I dont know about other shopee in the region.

“WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS & ALL THE SELLERS ARE SCAMMERS!”

The first thing I can say here is, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE! They have NO clue how to run a business. I purchased an iPhone from this site and paid in full for it, 18,100 THB. After paying the seller contact us and said "I am only selling this iPhone outside of Shopee" which is obviously against Shoppe policies as they don't want sellers to sell their products outside of the site as they don't make any money. So we said NO to the seller as we wanted to pay thru Shoppe for buyer protection so he went and canceled the order. I had to contact Shoppe to tell them the seller was trying to scam me and now I want my money back, they told me I had to wait 45 business days to get my money back, so I was like... whaaaaaat! That is crazy! And I asked, what about the seller wanting to sell the iPhone outside of your business, you need to stop sellers doing that otherwise you wont make money! Here I am 19 days later with NO money back and the seller is still trading hahaha. What an absolute joke this website is. Nobody knows what they're doing at the customer service, I would suggest to give it up now and close this joke of a business DOWN!

Shopee Thailand: Worlds Worst Online Shopping - Zero Stars After reading the negative reviews below i can only agree 100% with what is being said about Shopee Thailand. Seems like a pattern of SCAMS with deceptive and unprofessional conduct from this company. My poor experience was as follows, a seller sent me an item completely different to what was ordered. The item they sent was a small cable and not what I paid for which was a wireless mouse. The seller in chat just said "we sent you the correct item" so it's your word against theirs. It's basically a BAIT AND SWITCH scam that many sellers on Shopee seem to be doing and getting away with as Shopee just does not care what the sellers are doing. So long as the seller sends you something (does not matter if it's a box of rocks) the order will be marked as completed by Shopee. You need to understand that once you have paid for an order the deal is done as far as Shopee Thailand is concerned. No matter what the "seller" sends you or if you have a problem with item if it's defective a REFUND IS NOT POSSIBLE from Shopee. They simply don't care about customers at all, the support and ethics of them is the worst that I have ever seen from an online shopping company. They are happy to take money from a Farang "foreigner", but you cannot get an email reply in English or talk with anyone in English over the phone when you have a problem. They only send generic emails "blah, blah, blah" if you make a complaint about an order to just to WASTE YOUR TIME. They do this because they know that most people will just give up. Personally, I only lost 450 Baht about 15 USD so it's a LESSON LEARNED, I hope people reading this won't make the same mistake I did and use Shopee. A friend of my mentioned in conversation (after I got scammed) that he had a similar problem with a seller and Shopee once again just DID NOT CARE and it was the exact same recipe of inaction like my case. My advice is DO NOT USE SHOPEE in any way.
