www.securespend.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives www.securespend.com a low-to-medium trust score on the platform: 44.10. It signals that the business could be defined by the following tags: Doubtful. Medium-Risk. Alert..

We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this low score? We came up with the 44.10 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to www.securespend.com's industry. The algorithm detected potential high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Doubtful. Medium-Risk. Alert. tags above.

Long story short, we caution you about using this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning www.securespend.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between www.securespend.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of www.securespend.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of www.securespend.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below.

A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns.

www.securespend.com is a suspect website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether www.securespend.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether www.securespend.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, www.securespend.com.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies this service works and is trustworthy. It costs only $6.49/month but is worth the cost. U.S., UK, EU, Swiss, and Canadian residents only. Click below.

  1. I just used this card once to load some money on my amazon account. Went the next day to make a purchase and it declined. I checked the status and miraculously the website is down. calling the number is equally useless…an endless loop and never one that leads to customer service agent. This is the 2nd time my money has been stolen! last year is was just 50 bucks in some drug store in california…never been to california! Now, once again like before i can’t access my funds…probably the same drug store in california!? burned twice, never will buy this UNSECURE card ever again!

  2. I AM SO GLAD I ONLY LOADED $40 ON THIS SCAM CARD!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS CARD AND LOAD MONEY ON IT UNLESS YOU DON’T MIND HAVING YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY STOLEN IN A MATTER OF SECONDS!!! Thankfully I was able to use $27.45 of the $40 that I loaded because I made online purchase a few minutes after activating it but scammers were able to drain the remaining funds soon after. Since this ripoff card cost $4.95 and the thieves were able to steal $I think my card was compromised when I tried to activate it and entered my card info into a phishing site that was made to look very similar to securespend. I was in a hurry and went to the securespend.org site which was the fraudulent site. I’m just glad that I didn’t load $100 or more because that money would be long gone before I could even spend it. I’m angry that Walmart sells this card!! Next time I go I am going to remove (trash) as many of these cards from their shelf as possible so no one else gets scammed.

  3. So I got 500 on this scam card, and THE ONLY online places I have been able to get it to work was a couple times on Google play. It was initially bought to make a purchase on eBay, which after talking to their crappy customer service, I found out that the card issuer has blocked us from using ebay or anything that links your card to an account for “security purposes”. So I have filed complaints with B.B.B. and The Consumer Financial Protection Agency and I suggest you do also. I am also pursuing a lawsuit due to them breaking their end of the user agreement which states “You are able to use this card ANYWHERE that honors visa or Mastercard.” Well when they broke that contract, they have null and voided not filing a class action lawsuit as well. So, wish my lawyer luck on that one. And I suggest you guys start taking actions against scam companies like this, because as long as you keep letting them get away with it, the more people they will scam, then other scammers see there is no consequences and that is why there are SO MANY of them. You think you cannot do anything about it but you are wrong, read the small print in the Cardholder/account holder agreement section. They make you agree to all that by activating their card. But if any of you can comprehend what you are reading, it also states that on their part of the agreement, that it is “redeemable to buy goods and services at ANY merchant that accepts Visa or Mastercard debit cards.” So when they started blocking merchants that accept Visa and Mastercard, they are breaking that agreement which nulls and voids their entire agreement. WAKE UP PEOPLE you are allowing yourselves to be victims and acting like you all were in the wrong. It is time for us to take back control of these financial slave masters and remind them that we want our hard earned money back from their agreement breaking asses. And they moment they stopped following through on their parts of the agreements they force us to make good on, is the moment that that agreement became as worthless as their claims that made us decide to try them. This is not the normal for a corporate backed business and this is not how we do business in America (that’s why you can only get customer service by some middle eastern representative) So fight back, those of you who just let it happen, are the reason America and our financial systems are falling apart. WAKE UP!

  4. Friends gave us a gift card from Secure Spend the end of December 2022. I activated it on 12/27/22 it had a balance of $100.00 by January 2,2023 it was 0 and I did not use it. The first time I called customer service I was told it was used on 12/20/2022. The second time I called customer service I was told it was used on 12/27/2022. Hold time for customer service is at least 30 plus minutes. I am waiting for an eMail to report the fraud but I suspect this will be a waste of time. Best advise DO NOT buy this gift card unless you enjoy a lot of stress!

  5. Don’t buy securespend cards they’re worthless.i bought one from Walmart came straight home tried to use it declined. I checked the balance 0 called customer service and I had to file a complaint for an investigation it took 3 months finally got a new card so I activated it by phone 2 weeks later 0 balance and I never used it. Called customer service again and was told I’d have to start the process all over again why bother. You really need to check these people more thoroughly you rate them way to high.

  6. SecureSpend needs some National news attention. Purchased this card and loaded $336 on it. Two valid transactions were made, no problem. On January 5, 2023 two separate unauthorized transactions totaling $$259.87 were made. Called and held for 21 minutes…..no one will answer. Called again and held for 15 minutes….no one answered. I plan on mailing a letter, but expecting no results. I would not recommend this card to anyone!!

  7. this is ridiculous I can put my number in to check my balance many times always it says I put the wrong number in when I know I did not I used other prepaid cards before and did not ever have a problem with them but this secure spend and there so called helpline is ridiculous i can use my money on it but as for checking my balance no way cant I am not using this company anymore i have a little left on my card and i am going to use it as soon as I can because if this is a scam I don’t want the little money I have left on it to be stolen by them

  8. I bought a prepaid secure spend card at Walmart and loaded $500. The very next day, my card would not work. I could not log in and called customer service. After being on hold for 1 hour, they told me that my card had been compromised and they would have to
Mail me a new card and that would take 5-7 business days. The two people I spoke with at customer service were not even American. Do not do business with them unless you want them to take all of your money and act as if your card was
Compromised. I’m reporting them to the better business bureau. 5 out of 5 DO NOT RECOMMEND SECURE SPEND.

  9. 100$ gift card drained of everything but 8 cents. One purchase of $84 on pet food, when I dont even own a pet, rest on a google play app ive never installed in my life. literally 2 hours after I got the card.

  10. I purchased a $100 secure spend visa gift card last night. As soon as I purchased it (from Speedway) someone stole @ $96+ from the balance. OMG customer service OFF the change and even had the customer service agent hang up on me while I am trying to understand how something like this happens. Very frustrating, but I WANT my money back. Secure Spend will be on the news very soon.

  11. Don’t buy from this company. Totally is a big scam and lost money from their end. If you try to make a purchase online it say insufficient funds even though you haven’t made a purchase. Be aware of this shady card company that wants to rip off hardworking cizitens. SCAM LIKELY AND HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND IT!!!!!

  12. Penny Kay Lemaire

I HAD A 500.00 CARD, ACTIVATED IT AND CHECKED THE BALANCE. GRANDSON WENT TO USE THE CARD 2 DAYS LATER AND IT HAD 2 CENTS ON IT. I CALLED AND CHECKED AND WAS TOLD THAT 3 MINUTES AFTER I CHECKED THE BALANCE A SCAMMER LIFTED THE MONEY. I WAS BASICALLY TOLD NOTHING I COULD DO ABOUT IT. THEY SENT ME THE FRAUD PAPERS TO FILL OUT. I DID THIS AND EMAILED TO THEM BUT CANNOT GET THEM TO RESPOND TO ME. I FAXED IT TO THE NUMBER ON THE FRAUD PAPERS MANY MANY DIFFERENT TIMES DURING THE DAY FOR A WEEK AND IT ALWAYS SAYS NO ANSWER. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. AND I WOULD BE LEARY OF WALMART BECAUSE THEY ARE SELLING THE CARDS FOR THEM.

    1. Exactly the same thing happened to me except it was only $50. I lodged a complaint with Wal-Mart for selling this defective item. Wal-Mart is going to lose some of my business for being in cahoots with this shady company.

  14. Back in May of this year, my family gave me a gift card from SecureSpend of $500 for a graduation gift, the expiration date is in 2030. I went to activate the card, and I was able to activate my PIN. However, it never worked when I went to use it online or in-person at a store. I checked the site again and it said that “their system was down and they were going to upgrade it”. This kept happening 4 months after they said this, until this month when their site flat out said that my information was invalid and I couldn’t log in. When I called customer service, the lady on the end of the call had said “This card is not in my system, please log into the website”, then ended the call. Yet, my problem WAS that I couldn’t log into their website to check my card. It sounds like all of their cards are invalid, despite the expiration dates. SecureSpend is definitely shady and not trustworthy.

I have 2 different cards from SecureSpend Visa I have been using, all of a sudden out of the blue cannot use anymore said problem with cards. I have balances on both have cards in my possession and they tell me I am out of luck basically unless I can get on the site with the numbers and verify back in sept where I used. cannot get on there site with the numbers problem with the cards. so basically they get to keep your money and you are just screwed they told me. I will never buy a card from them again negative 100% for customer service.

  16. I have 2 cards I have been using, all of a sudden out of the blue cannot use anymore said problem with card. I will never buy a card from them again negative 100% for customer service.

  17. SecureSpend Prepaid gift cards are a complete scam. I received a card for $100 that is prepaid and gets activated at the register; however, when I called to check the available balance the SecureSpend representative said the card is invalid. The store associate where the card was purchased said this is a common issue and there is nothing that can be done on their end. This also happened with another customer for $500 and he was told it had already been used after he had just purchased the card.

  18. I am trying to activate my newly purchased Mastercard Securespend and the phone number 1833 263 9060 dosent work nor can i log on

sounds you guys are scammers as well

    1. I bought a secureSpend card from CVS and put $180 on it. I got to the car. Open it up and checked the balance. It said I had $0.02 available. I didn’t go in any website or anything. CVS won’t do anything. So I called secure spend customer service. After being on hold for 37 minutes they told me that my card was compromised. I said how is it compromised when I didn’t do nothing but check my balance. They said it’s nothing they can do. Word of advice……if you see this card anywhere, STAY AWAY FROM IT. I have used green dot and vanilla cards with no problems. My next step is to call CVS corporate office and ask them to remove those cards.

      1. This exact same thing just happened to me as well. Bought a $500 SecureSpend Master Card today and went online to activate it. I realize now that the site I was typing my credit card number, exp date and CSV into may have been a phishing site that took my number but looked identical to the actual securespend.com website. In either case, when I go to the securespend.com website my card is not recognized as valid and when I called customer support they say that my card had been drained down to a few cents with a transaction that occurred at the instant when I first typed my card number into that first site I was redirected to. I have been told to call back in a week once the transaction is no longer listed as “pending” and that they will investigate with their fraud team, however, based on the comments here I think my odds of ever seeing my money again is very low. I will NEVER use a pre-paid credit card again and I am going to go to the Petro Canada where I bought this card and tell them that this company is very likely not legit and that they should take their inventory off of their shelves asap. SecureSpend.com doesn’t even come up with internet searches and the site that does come up redirects you to a phishing page that looks identical to what’s on SecureSpend.com but with a different url.

    2. this is ridiculous every time I try to check my balance it says I have the wrong number I know I don’t there are other prepaid cards I used that I had no trouble with this one I can put my number in over and over it keeps saying I gave the wrong number same thing with there so called phone and im not about to wait a few hours on the phone for someone to answer I can use it but I can not check my balance at all I have some on my card now I don’t know how much but im not going to use secure spend any more if this is the start of some kind of scheme I don’t want to be one of them they stole from so i want to use what little i have left as soon as i can
