Is sailrite.com Legit?

I purchased fabric for recovering two swivel chairs, each with back and seat cushions. I selected Covington Lapis and the fabric is beautiful and a good weight. It is a chenille but I would rate the softness 5 of 10. For me this is perfect as I need durability as much as softness. I would say the background color is a little more towards the darker side of off-white as compared to the web photo. I am hoping when the chairs are finished they show a little bit lighter as it could have been the lighting in my house on that day. The fabric was packaged on a roll about 5 ft tall, 16 yds, and covered with heavy duty plastic for shipping. This protected the fabric very well. It also gave the upholsterer material to work with that did not have fold marks. I'm very happy with this purchase.

“Machine for the hard stuff”

I do sewing alterations for customers, and I'm so glad I purchased a Sailrite sewing machine. I never know what the next alteration challenge will be; from altering a race car driver's suit to motorcycle jackets. The Sailrite glides through the thickness with beautiful stitches making me look good. Recently I hemmed several pair of men's denim jeans. Sewing through the two-four fold welt seams on each cuff came out perfect! After a bad experience trying to get the proper threads for my machine locally, I buy ALL important stuff from Sailrite.

“Very poor customer treatment”

A sewing customer came to needing the zippers in her UTV soft top replace. I accidentally got the wrong thing. It cost me postage twice. Then between my ordering the first time and returning the products, some jerk stole my credit card information. This outfit issued me a gift certificate for the money I spent no including the postage both ways instead of giving me my money back. So, if you order anything from this business make absolutely sure that you are getting the right thing as you will most likely not get your money back and you surely will not be compensated for your postage to & from them. I definitely would not recommend this business to anyone. Tip for consumers:I recommend that you do not use this business if there is any chance that you will have to return anything. “Table with Servo motor”

I have not installed the motor yet, but have assembled the table. Looks sturdy but its under side is not sanded, it's raw plywood, I managed to get a couple of splinters in my hand. I think this will make sewing easier though, so fingers crossed.

After carefully watching Sailrite's Roman shade how-to video, I was pleased to find that they sell just about everything I needed for my project (2 window shades (5 1/2 ft. Wide and 8 1/2 ft. Wide). Shades of this size would easily have cost between $1000 - $2000 to have custom made, but I was able to make them myself for under $300. I priced out some of the necessary materials on Amazon and found them to be cheaper, but overall, Sailrite's prices are reasonable and they sell most of their items by the foot so I didn't get stuck with having to buy unnecessary amounts sold in volume. I'd definitely recommend this company to anyone interested in making Roman shades. Everything I ordered shipped in less than a week so I was able to get started right away! I have communicated several times with them but it is obviously lost. Bad customer service. Will never do business with the again. I have started a PayPal dispute. I needed the parts and ordered from a different vendor from further away and have already received my parts.

If you happen to make a mistake on your order... forget it. No way to change online or by calling the company. All I wanted to do was change order, but was told no, had to order twice at $75 extra shipping fee only to see that both orders went out at exactly the same time. You got my money once but why twice... never again and web site looks like such a personal CO.

I have had good luck with sailrite in the past. This time i ordered some fabric and once received decided it would no longer work. I got approval to return, but the return shipping costs were almost as much as the fabric. I know corporate shipping rates are much cheaper then individual shipping rates. Suggested to customer service that they allow free returns with their shipping costs deducted from the return amount which would be significantly less expensive then an individual have to pay upfront out of pocket inflated shipping charges

“Product satisfactory but delivery slow.”

I ordered fabric samples since computer pictures can vary from actual product colors. I am glad I did so as one of the colors was not anything like the picture. I chose to send the samples by regular first class mail and it took almost 2 weeks (13 days) to reach my destination. The quality of fabric looks good and I do intend to order from Sailrite. Hopefully, it will get here quicker than the samples.

“Yes I have received my package”

I would have given a 5 stars if not for the delivery. The item purchased (over 300$) was left wrap in a plastic bag not in a box, on our front porch. I was@ home and the delivery co driver did not even ring the door bell. It could have been stolen as we have Had quite a few instance in the neighborhood. May be Sailrite could request a signature for items delivered. Just a suggestion Service Value Shipping Quality

I received my order within the work week. Setup of the Fabricator sewing machine and table was very easy and straight forward. I'm mechanically adept and I'm not new to sewing. The Fabricator's very slow speed functions like my Jeep Rubicon - Slow, smooth, and easy in the rough, with a top speed that is more than sufficient. The ability to crawl slowly prevents mistakes and reduces breakage and down time. The servo motor does it all. I have used a clutch driven sewing machine and it reminded me of an old motorcycle with a suicide clutch - scary! The Fabricator sewing machine with the Servo motor is a trick setup. My neighbor repairs and rebuilds boats. I will be doing some of his upholstery work and I also have jeep tops to repair.
