“Deceptive charge”
My significant other placed an order a couple months ago. Ever since then there has been a $16.95 charge every month on the credit card. The explanation? She was given a $17 dollar discount on her initial purchase in exchange for a "free" 30 day trial for a member club, or whatever they call it. She has been burned with these free 30 day trial offers before (think amazon prime) so is very careful about that now. I believe it. She is adamant she did NOT agree to a "trial" membership. “No human will help me”
I lost my credit card and tried to cancel it. I called the number that might have a human answer after I tried customer service and the cut me off after they were done with their mechanical statement. No one would help. They kept sending me back to the same customer service number. That is not the way to run a respectable company. At all. I am so angry I can hardy breathe. What am I supposed to do now? “Never received items”
While I have received items from Roamans in the past, last August. 2 items were supposedly delivered, but I never received them. I called Roamans and they assured me that they would loo into it. Then they send me this form on line that I assume I'm supposed to print out & send to them, instead of just doing it via email. I'm so disgusted with this company that I'm thinking about litigation. “Returns policy and lack of customer service”
After spending much money with Roamans and pretty satisfied with quality and customer service, they are now the worst in customer service. The clothes smell like chemicals and to return an item is a nightmare. A package was taken off my porch and I literally had to get an affidavit from a police report for a 145.00 package. Even then I was told that Roamns would do their own investigation. What?! Not to mention the fact that the letter said a police report is required for items over 200.00. “Terrible Company”
I will NEVER place another order with this company! Did not receive advertised price on two items I ordered. I returned items and received credit for one, still waiting for credit on the second item. The customer service is terrible, no help at all. If I pay the minimum amount due on my account I will be paying more than what my account balance should be and if I don't pay the minimum payment I will be charged an outrageous late payment fee. “Poor delivery and customer service”
. I have waited over 2 months for either my pair of jeans or a refund for them. Each time I contact the company, the customer service representative was either EXTREMELY difficult to understand or comprehend my complaint. “Worst customer service EVER”
I have to warn everybody about the customer service and the credit card bank, Comeity that services Romans catalog…they are the absolute worst. The worst part is that there is nobody that you can complain to (higher-ups) that wants to hear it or you can even find on the Internet. “Don't pay for express shipping!”
I placed an order on 10/10. I wasn't sure what shipping method to use so I chose the express one that said I would have it by 10/13. I was charged $34.98 for the shipping and it is now 10/14 and I haven't received my order. I called 2 times today explaining my situation and the first time I was told that the shipping I paid for was for 5 -7 days. I told her that is not even on their website as an option. She told me it will be here tomorrow and I wasn't entitled to a refund. On the second try I was told that express service was only 11.98 and she said that the $34.98 was for express plus 22.99 for the regular shipping price. She also quoted a 3-5 day express option which once again is not an option. I was a very good customer but not anymore
“The WORST”
If I could give a NEGATIVE star I would. Their "Happy Returns" is anything but! In an attempt to return it seems you can't go to just any Fed Ex only the one they designate. My nearest one was 12 miles away and turned out to be only a drop box that I couldn't use. I was willing to mail it but would cost me $11.99 PLUS they wouldn't credit my charge account for free. They were going to charge me over $10 to credit my account! They give me a GIFT CARD! Why would I want a gift card to someplace that is so difficult to make returns. I will not purchase from Roaman"s in the future. They are dishonest. I found that they have fraudulent ways intended to mislead or cheat. I called several times for a refund of $270.00 because the outfits were too big for me. I left the tags on the items and returned to Roamans. Called over 6 times and was told the money was sent to me. I have not received, and refund and I refused the gift care from them. I placed an order in March of 2023. I returned 2 items (and had to pay for return shipping!). I just called to place an order, for a winter coat, and they would not hoonor my credit because They no longer have the "gift card" number! They only keep it for 90 days. The woman I spoke with wouldn't look at my Past orders to see that I had never used my credit. She just kept repeating they sent and email With my gift card number in it and they don't have that anymore! Really? They would rather lose A customer. “Scammy Return Policy”
I have shopped with Roaman's for decades. My husband recently purchased a suede coat for my birthday from them which did not fit. I carefully followed their return policy when I shipped the jacket back to them. I specifically requested that the original form of payment, a credit card, be credited with the return amount. More than a month after the return was shipped I get a letter from the umbrella company "Full Beauty Brands" that I have a credit with Roaman's for the amount paid for the jacket. They did not credit our credit card as requested, but gave me store credit instead. This was not acceptable. We contacted them to complain (conveniently there is no phone number on their correspondence) they credited our charge card. However, even though we'd already spent close to $30 on postage sending this jacket back and forth, Roaman's informed us that the required an additional $10 restocking fee. None of this is stated at the point of purchase. The whole ordeal seems rather scammy. Fortunately, there are plenty of other sources for women's plus size clothing since Roaman's customer service has now become so poor. They have lost a longtime customer. I hope it was worth the $10. Placed an order, never received a receipt in my email. Wrote and asked about it, told me to check my junk mail, I did, no conformation. Well, long story short, they will not send me a receipt! It was supposed to automatically be sent to me when the order was completed. Wait a while they said, I waited 24 hours, no receipt. Wrote to them and got the same answer, we will not send out a second receipt! I never paid for an item and not gotten the receipt! How do I know that the order was placed at all? They told me they can see that the order was placed, but will not send me a receipt. I don't get it.

I ordered 2 pairs of shorts in June, I received a bikini that I did not order. I called them they stated send it back. I sent it back and a month later no shorts and I was billed for shorts. I called and cancelled the shorts. Here we are oct. 29 and I get a call from a colle tion agency saying I owe on my Roamans. I called Roamans spoke to a Cheryl who transferred me to a Teesha. TEESHA stated I owe nothing but I need to speak to collections. I said to her no you need to notify collections that I owe nothing. She then stated no we are all in the same office. I told her stay on the line and I will call collections and we can straighten this out. She said I can't. God Bless Bonnie at the collection agency that said she would call Roamans and get it straightened out. I was on hold for awhile but she came back and it was taken care of by the collection agency! I'm calling Roamans and canceling my card but I'm also going to write multiple letters to corporate office and the better business bureau! 5 months of aggravation!
“Though not perfect...”
I will still give this site 5 stars because it is one of the few places on earth I can find clothing that is actually true to size for Plus Sized women. I can't count how many times I ordered a 3x in other stores and it turned out to be more like an XL or 1X when I receive it. Returns are very easy, too, though I rarely have to use this service as long as I read the size charts for everything I purchase. I just received a cool shirt today in a size larger than normal and it is just what I was looking for: light denim, loose, long and super comfy. I can wear it over a house dress and not even have to don a bra when I go down to the apt. Mailbox or trash chutes. Just love it, and it was only $22.50 with free shipping on special, the day I bought it. I also got a $4.99 fuschia sweatshirt to sweeten the deal, though that won't be shipped 'til the new year. I have bought many long dresses from Roamans, which are just darling, and all in that $20-$30 price range when on sale. Excellent for summer wear as they are sleeveless, but can be coupled with some kind of wrap for cooler weather. And many tunic tops and stretchy pants as well. I am attaching a pic of the shirt I received today, but it's still very wrinkled from the box and will look better after washing.
“Has Roamans gone out of business?”
I placed an online (international - Canada) order in mid-December, 2020. I did not receive an email confirmation of that order so thought it had not been sent and repeated the online order. Again I did not receive an email conformation, so I gave up, thinking online international ordering was not possible. However, within 2 weeks both orders were charged to my Mastercard and in two more weeks I received by UPS two duplicate orders! Of course, I need to return one of these, plus two of the items in the order I am keeping which are defective. However, the UPS return-label site Roamans invoices gave for printing a return shipping label do not work, in spite of my repeated attempts over a period of time., I have also called Roamans customer service and been told they do not deal with international returns and that I needed to contact Roamans by post. I did so, and cc'd Full Beauty Brands and UPS as well with my request in a detailed letter mailed February 5,2021. To date (March 13,2021) the only recipient of my concern who has contacted me has been UPS. They tell me they cannot help, since the site for printing a return label is the responsibility of the shipper, which is Roamans. Since I have been unable to get any kind of a response from Roamans and have found even their online processes to be defunct I am suspecting the company has gone out of business. If they are still in business I would caution anyone against ordering anything you are absolutely sure you would not need to return, since their return process seems to be non-existent. I ordered a blue/turquoise/aqua stripe "big shirt" on sale for a good price. The shirt appears nice and fits as expected, but the fabric is very stiff--I'm guessing either sizing or starch. I will wash in cold water and hang to dry to preserve color. Ordered April 1, got shipping email April 5 saying it shipped on April 4. Initially said it would arrive April 7, later updated to the 9th, no big deal. I don't know how they calculate shipping, but my package contained 4 catalogs--yes, 4! A regular Roaman's catalog, a smaller Roaman's catalog, a Catherine's catalog, and one other I can't recall. I tossed them in the recycling. The catalogs weighed more than the one product I ordered. I'm getting multiple marketing emails from them every day. And if I even look at something on their website, I later get an email encouraging me to buy it.
