rackspace.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives rackspace.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 89.7. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 89.7 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to rackspace.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning rackspace.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between rackspace.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of rackspace.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of rackspace.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. rackspace.com is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether rackspace.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether rackspace.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, rackspace.com.

NEVER use Rackspace. It barely works. Their customer service is the absolute worst. Giving this antiquated, POS company $1.00 is $1.00 too much.
Using Rackspace via SMTP for my website.- The IP where I am within Rackspace has been banned by Microsoft, leading to undelivered emails.- The security alerts (eg hacking trials / admin login / ...) sent from my website to myself only are undelivered since considered as Phishing attempts. How could I be willing to phish myself? - This evaluation makes that indeed most of my emails are not delivired. Even from myself to another myself (alias). Conclusion: they are too poorly skilled in algorithms, unable to filter and deliver fair emails, and unable to stop real spammers.
10 years ago Rackspace was expensive but had the best support and best quality experience. You paid a premium for a premium service. They were bought out by private equity, outsourced ALL support to India and fired all account managers. Now you pay a premium price to get atrocious support from unskilled foreigners who don't speak English. Everyone I have spoken with at Rackspace over the last few years is wildly incompetent and Rackspace is not a serious place to host your businesses services. Run far away from this company and go to Google, AWS, or Azure.
Rackspace used to be the gold standard for customer support. They are not the same company they once were. They do a great job of acting as if they know what they are doing. however, they do not. As all of the other reviewers here have stated, avoid Rackspace for any web/email services and look elsewhere.
i have received more than 105 spam mails in the last 4 days, some with phishing links or other criminal content. rackspace is the host of the reported domain and does not respond to any of my reports. on the contrary. all reports are blocked. even phone calls are immediately terminated when you report these criminal activities!
I have been unable to receive emails for several hours, it may as much as eight hours, and being a weekend it doesn't appear anyone at Rackspace is available to help. Rackspace obviously does not understand that businesses still need to operate whether it is a weekend or not. Terrible service. I would say avoid using them at all costs. -----I finally was able to contact someone, or maybe it was just a chatbot, but it's now been over 12 hours without access to my email and no one at Rackspace has a clue as to what the problem is. How they expect anyone to be able to conduct business with such an interruption is indicative of a company that doesn't know what it is doing, doesn't have the expertise to solve problems, and doesn't care about its customers.
I should have read these reviews before I bothered to contact this ridiculous company. I had a problem setting up my email account and was told to message them, I did this and didn't hear back. After two weeks I called them and was advised to email again because they couldn't help me until my original message had been responded to!!!!! Thank God I didn't actually set up an account before I realised what a joke they are!!!
We've been using Rackspace for 15 years. However, their support over the last few years has been completely terrible. The agents just respond with some non-sense just so they can get good stats on their response times, but don't actually provide any useful service.
Our company has been at Rackspace for close to 20 years. Their customer service has gone so downhill, I renewed a year contract last year and half way through it they say my hardware is EOL. Did they not know this when we signed??? Ok what do we need to do, took over 4 months to get a quote, rates were doubled. Another part of their team was like you can go Rackspace and AWS, ok great lets do that. They wont let me out of the original contract with the ended hardware even though we were going to keep their services?!?! Now were paying for a server at Rackspace for 3 more months with nothing on it.
We have been with Rackspace for a number of years, and have always found their service first class. The main thing for us is the technical backup from their brilliant team. Yes, Rackspace is more expensive than many other providers, but for organisations like ours where the website is 'mission critical' it is worth it. The 24/7/365 support of their highly knowledgeable technical team is invaluable.
4 days and still no reply to my support ticket, total silence, Rackspace really have fallen... very sad. Please drop the "fanatical" part as it's just not true sadly.Find another supplier.
Cancelled my service in January. Rackspace kept billing me. Called and was told to cancel again, which I did. Rackspace kept billing me. Finally cancelled by credit card to make the billing stop. Rackspace sent their continued billings to a collection service. Called Rackspace Customer Service which is in India. Can't understand the representative there, who was to email me that I owed nothing. No email received so I just finally paid the collection firm more that $200 to avoid impact on my credit (May). Rackspace is the worst. No functional Customer Service. Can't reach a person to talk to. Stay away from Rackspace! You'll never get out!
They lie about their chat support being 24/7/365. It is false, there are many times their support is unavailable you get the "Virtual agent with the message no online agents are available".The agents have no idea what they are talking about. Their knowledge is very little knowledge about the product and gives conflicting information. They rarely respond to the tickets. You have to follow up again and again to get a response. Also, they say you can send up 10000 emails per day but that's not true. They will mark your email as spam if you attempted to send more than 50 emails a day.
You do VERY well. We continue to be pleased with your service. One small issue: somehow somebody has your customer list. I get emails that claim to be from you that ask me to volunteer information -- it is clearly fraud. I do send these on to you -- and now I've added your "abuse" address to my files so I can quickly pass it on to you.
Rackspace requires you to use specific hardware and migrate to newer equipment every 2 years. Every time you do rates increase. For us this was extremely disruptive. Migrating off Rackspace was very difficult. I gave notice, then was told Copying our data was extremely slow. I suspect they throttle data transfers. Getting a copy of our data on a USB was ridiculously difficult and took forever. Their trouble ticket system is annoying. Simple issues have to be referred to various departments. They required us to pay via ACH but then made billing errors. I still have an unresolved billing issue. They started closing tickets if I didn't respond immediately. Now they have terminated my online access to the support site and I no longer have access to the trouble ticket system.
Support makes a mistake and commits us to more licences that we need, for an annual subscription.Refuses to fix their mistake, technical managers get pulled in who promise credit notes but don't deliver. It's been over a year now, and numerous follow-ups, and still nothing. Our account manager just refused to deal with it.And now, after asking for the process to move away from them, just stops responding. This company has become a joke.
Not sure what has happened at Rackspace but the quality of the support has taken a massive downturn recently. We have tickets that are going unanswered, and when we do get a response it generally has a half hearted suggestion on when WE have to do to resolve an issue with the system THEY are supporting for us. I could achieve the same thing with a 5 minute google search. I had hoped that Rackspace would have the expertise that I don't have so that my issue could be resolve by people that know what they are doing. Disappointed.
All the staff who knew what they were doing has been replaced by Indians, who have NO CLUE. Open a trouble ticket, nobody ever responds. Weeks and weeks go by.Issues aren't getting resolved. I'm done, making plans to exit Rackspace. It's difficult when you you're a reseller and have several hundred accounts, but it needs to happen unfortunately. Company is going down fast.
We signed up in the hope of using access to cloud data storage, however, this past year has produced so many issues I've spent more time trying to manage their customer services than I have our data. They are slow to respond and do not adhere to their stated processes or our agreements. They're inconsistent, unreliable and from my experience, untrustworthy. We've even had our payments to them credited to another of their clients. Possibly one of the worst service and customer service experiences I have ever had.
Reliable and Efficient. There may be less expensive options out there, but you get what you pay for. We are extremely happy with the reliability of the service we receive and the efficiency of the staff at Rack Space

“Used to be good, but now negligent”
They were great in 2014 when we started. You could get help quickly. Now their fanatical service means closing tickets as quickly as possible by passing on to someone else and not solving the actual problem. It takes 4 to 5 tickets to get something solved. They also lost our company email since inception through a ransomware attack through negligence of not doing a simple update. We also heard nothing for weeks while everyone waited. They have no honor anymore. Their main goal is to lock into contracts, and then disregard. If you care about your company go elsewhere.
“Worst Business Ever”
Total system failure. Without services for 3 days now. Absolutely no support. If you do get a call back it is in the middle of the night. And then a waste of time as they only read off the website "instructions" and can not offer any thing more than reading what you already have. Service Value Quality
“Dissapointed”
I have been a Rackspace customer for well over five years now and I am finally going to have to leave them. Their support used to be amazing, 24 x 7 and most of everyone you would get help from were fantastic. However, now it seems they have moved some if not most of their support over seas and like all the other companies who have done this, the support has going so down hill its just not worth staying. :( Tip for consumers:Stay away from Rackspace, they have lost all that was great about them. Products used:This is an online service provider. No hard products exists to ship or return. Service Value
“POS: have outsourced their ALL human/facet to bureaucrat INDIA!”
Started getting spammed... traced the source to RackSpace, and I was a client of theirs... Took days to get the Spam stopped & until I figured that RackSpace was the source... told them I'd leave and that took many hours as the Indians are 100% Paper pushers & Anal at times. Done with them FOREVER. Another American company BITES the dust! Tip for consumers:Find another ISP/Hosting Service Provider ... this one has gone to hell. Service Value Quality
“Excellent customer service, and would highly recommend...”
Excellent customer service, and would highly recommend Rackspace. I found them easy to work with, and a user friendly site.
“Snobbish Customer Service”
Their customer service does not respect the privacy of their clients. Keep on asking on things that I specifically pointed to be confidential.
“N January 2010 we signed up with Rackspace and hoped...”
N January 2010 we signed up with Rackspace and hoped for the best as our first experience with managed hosting with 800Hosting was a disaster. The switch to Rackspace has been a great improvement for us. We have been with them for almost a year and have NO complaints about any of our websites, blogs or databases we have hosted with them. They have delivered all that they promised. Our first experience with managed hosting was with 800Hosting and they delivered NONE of what they promised. They had a great website with great promises, but were more than a disappointment. All of our fully managed websites went down due to a catastrophic failure with their server, and we had to notify them! They did not even know! We purchased monitoring 24/7 so how could that be? We had purchased a fully managed dedicated server so we would not have such problems. They lost valuable confidential customer personal data and almost all product images - gone forever. We purchased daily back up so how could that happen unless they did not provide what they promised? As you can see, we were very skeptical and worried about our next host. Anyone can make a mistake but they were NO help making things right and showed NO understanding as to how being totally down for 6 days was impacting our business. That really was unbelievable in a web host, and based on their website not possible. Since moving to Rackspace we have had nothing but peace of mind. They seem to appreciate how much our success depends on them delivering the goods. They provide monitoring, pro-active support, technical support 24/7, and improved server performance. They more expensive BUT NO down time, no data loss and no worries. This is priceless to us. We wished we would have found Rackspace before 1-800-Hosting!
“Right there”
Good customer service and when ever you call the next minute they are always around the corner. The last service was good. Thanks
“They are good but not the best”
I hope they can work on improving customer service
“Best customer service ever!”
Best customer service ever! You call? They fix! As it should be.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
