proxibid.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives proxibid.com a medium trust score on the platform: 63.9. It signals that the business can best be defined by the following tags: Small Risk. Standard. Active.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this lower score? We came up with the 63.9 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to proxibid.com's industry. The algorithm detected potential activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Small Risk. Standard. Active. tags above. Long story short, please use caution when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning proxibid.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between proxibid.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of proxibid.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of proxibid.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. proxibid.com is a somewhat safer website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether proxibid.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether proxibid.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, proxibid.com.

Online Reviews of proxibid.com

Support always tries to help, very curtious. The site needs work. Search engine is poor, showes items that it thinks I am looking for instead of key words. Organization of bids in watch list not so good. Need my favorites in order of date and time of auction. Bid times not always accurate. Lost a couple of bids because the auction closed and proxiBid had it still hours away
Proxibid sets the bar I believe!!I've been engaged in online auctions for more than 20 years, and althought there are others whose selection and service are close, none that I've enaged in offer what Proxibid does.
I think it’s pretty nice, but not friendly for smartphone bidding. Which many people now use to conduct business.
I had a question regarding the next auction date and received a prompt and helpful answer.
I was confused with the process for changing my addresses. This was resolved by an expedient interaction with a knowledgeable rep.
With Proxibid, you can relax and know you're in good hands. They help you with any concerns or worries in any of the auctions you join.
I had a question regarding the "Watch" feature in an online auction & their chat session was very helpful. They even sent a follow up email to be sure the issue was resolved. I've used this system a few times and it's pretty easy to do.
Had trouble getting onto a site to bid. Tried different thinks including re-setting passwords. Called customer service they gave me a few thinks to try and that worked!
GieGie was very helpful as I tried to deal with a problem with KEY Date Coins. I would have rated a 5 if Proxibid would remove this auction house from their platform. It diminishes all of the other honest ones.
a great company to deal with, no issues and a warm body actually answers your phone calls.ive dropped other online auction companies and have gone only with proxibid.
I like for me how easy it is. Yet it seems that it's not as much of an auction place anymore as it's become a why for some to sell retail without a store front. Then you add on the 20-29 percent,,it adds up. Shipping ,handling ,adds up. Just order it from Bud's guns,it's cheaper and brand new.I'm sorry that this review isn't helpful, but I'm having to do business else where. They have an opening bid and then they can decline it? That's not an auction. I hope in the long run this helps. God Bless you all, Steve-
Great and secure bid alternative thanks
Great response to an error I made in bidding.Quick response & easy to use format!Thank you, Jeanne
Quick to reply. Well informed answers. A polite farewell.
Company has always taken care of any situation that came up in a timely manner.
Rosemarie B. efficiently and effectively resolved my issue professionally, with courtesy, and with respect.
She knew rite away what was wrong and solved it within seconds for me

Was an easy transaction overall
Prompt service and resolution to an issue. Wonderful personal.

“Disappointed Again”

I have won bids where my high bid ends up winning but no other bids close to mine, then I pay more than I should have. It seems like on line bidders are at a huge disadvantage, CS is for the auction houses and not the bidders who can see unfair practices right before there eyes. Be careful and save your money from this poorly run company. Tip for consumers:Buyer beware Products used:Memorabilia Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Consistently sketchy”

This is the only auction site where they seem to give sellers free reign to screw customers over in any way they please. Hidden fees tacked on and invoiced outside of the platform, items "passed over" when they don't sell for high enough despite not being listed with reserve, bids ignored, shill bidding done to run up any items with a prebid. The list goes on and on and the customer service is nonexistent. Have already had to issue a chargeback on an auction house that took my money and refused to ship or communicate. Proxibid does nothing and allows them to continue as long as they get a cut. Hoping they end up in a lawsuit involving one of these scam sellers. Don't waste your time. Tip for consumers:shill bidding, hidden reserves, dubious quality. don't bother. Products used:firearms, trading cards, antiques, vehicles Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Scam”

From what I have experienced, Proxibid is a scam. Bids are most definitely not awarded to the highest bidder at the time auction is posted to end. Instead, the bid time is extended...more than once...in a transparent attempt to generate a bidding frenzy and drive up the buyer cost. You suck! Tip for consumers:Scam Products used:None Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“"on site" winners”

Okay I have no real proof but it does seem that too often I lose a bid at the last minute to "onsite buyer" No way to check if it is legitimate. Sure makes one wonder when my highest bid is higher than the estimates and well above the other on line bidders but yet suddenly an on site buyer wins.

“Avoid at the risk of your wallet!”

What a fiasco this business is. I'm not entirely sure how the auctions are setup, as in who does the auctioning, if any pre-set prices are established, etc., but overall it is the most unprofessional chaotic sorry excuse for a clearing house I've ever taken part in. I often do online auctioning, I've attended live as well and they seem to run the same way. Open bidding after close/winning bid announced, ignore bids if they don't suit the auctioneer's idea of price, horrible internet and communication device, items out of order, item description changed mid-bidding, pre-bid completely ignored, etc. I will avoid any event hosted by Proxibid.

“Astronomically high shipping rates, missing items, no refunds, non-existent customer service.”

Ordered 5 or 6 things from Proxibid. Companies charge more than quadruple for shipping than what it actually costs, but refuse to tell you the shipping charges until after you've purchased the item, which is how they TRAP you. Items purchased were not as described & missing many pieces, but no refunds are allowed. I do auctions for a living and this is absolutely the worst auction experience i've ever had. 1 star is too good for them. Tip for consumers:DO NOT PURCHASE Products used:grow tent, trading cards Service Shipping Returns Quality

“Watch out”

Watch out. The online bidding is there to raise the price for on site bidders. 17-22% commission plus hefty shipping and packaging fees means your gonna pay ~25% more than an item is worth. Coin auctions include fakes, cleaned poorly described merchandise.

“Just beware that even if you do not purchase anything,...”

Just beware that even if you do not purchase anything, they still hold your credit card info hostage for 14 days!?! When asked they just say "for legal Reasons" and refuse to help. I would never recommend this site to anyone.

“Got what I wanted!”

Easy, trustworthy, FUN! I had never participated in an online auction before and was extremely pleased with my successful results in the winning bid for a vintage sewing machine at an amazing price! Thank you Proxibid!

“Great personal attention”

You all have done exactly that... communicate readily and routinely. While I've never successfully won a bid yet, my next step is to engage a telephone on site person... help me achieve that since our Hawaiian Standard Time is often six or more hours apart from auction location.

“Warning!”

Warning! Danger! Proxibid's auctioneers have the ability to simply pass on lots if the "bid is not commensurate with the value of the item offered". Look at their unified user agreement sec 5.4 Translation: no deals, and a waste of time. P. O. S. scam site!

“Simply Terrible”

Offer no consumer protections, aside from talking to sellers. Other then seller having a ein do no vetting or shipping practices. Use their site knowing that if anything goes bad you have to find a way to settle it basically on your own. Tip for consumers:The items I purchased were pressed together against each other and the outside of the box. Was charged 22+ each item for shipping and handling yet shipped together. Products used:Two signed funkos. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Furious!”

I just got off the phone with a Proxibid agent... I stayed with an auction all evening until the clock ran down to 0 seconds. I was the high bidder on china I was buying for my daughter's wedding. The computer read "Updating"... and when it finally posted... I HAD LOST THE STUPID ITEM! The agent's explanation? "Oh well, we have two different timers running and the Java platform didn't update you to let you know that someone else was still able to bid." Really... after 0 seconds? I am beyond ticked off... I am furious! I fully intend to tell the world. I will give one star because there is not a way to give none.

“Arrogant Volume Sellers and Unreponsive Proxibid to Customer Complaints”

The lack of help for buyers with concerns irks me about this site. Some high volume auctioneers are very arrogant and unresponsive, Proxibid leaves you to your fate when you have legitimate complaints. Personally, l feel l have a choice each time l have to spend my hard-earned money. I am not giving my money to an undeserving seller therefore, l will never do business with these people again. I do not want to go into the particulars of my complaint because my mind is already made up.

“HIGH FEES FOR NO SERVICE!”

Proxibid charges a fee to use their platform and offer no services in return. Will not hesitate to block a buyer for no cause and refuse to help a buyer if an issue on the buyers end arises. They get 3-5% fee per item, no cap. It should be illegal for them to take so much of our money and not be obligated to give service. They will have you send detailed emails to the dispute department and they never respond. When you call back in their response is not our auction/ item, not our problem. We've bought a lot from proxibid in the last 3 years, I'd recommend you buy from Equipment facts, Level, hi-bid or the auctions directly before Proxibid! Tip for consumers:They are nothing more than the middle man. They are for the sellers only. If the seller sends in any type of dispute on you they will block your account until cleared up even if it is a false dispute or a mistake. If you have the same type of issue with a seller they say they are only a platform and nothing they can do. Without the buyers they wouldn't have a business yet they do nothing for the buyers. Products used:Their platform for buying from auction companies Service Value

“Overall the site has been okay but stay away from any...”

Overall the site has been okay but stay away from any of the Unique Find Auctions they are a joke. I bought something in October 2012 they lost it in mailing then found it then said it was ok only to say it was damaged. They promised to mail, to give me back my money, etc. and NOTHING has been done even with a complaint into Proxibid for over a month. The government auctions are a scam as well they sent an appraisal on a piece of jewelry for $27,000 and it's worth about $300 for the silver, the jewels are worth basically nothing. Good think I didn't pay a lot for it!

“Proxibid does it again!”

Once again proxibid logs me out as I'm live bidding. Missed another item because of them, this happens so often and till you get logged back in the item is sold. Either this happens or when winning the bid, it just happens to be your maximum bid. Dont use them.! Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Owners Bid to run up price”

Recently I bid on 4 items using Proxibid, all 4 ran up to my maximum bid overnight while identical lots remained unbidden or at minimum. Proxibid did retract my bids after contacting via email but I now realize the same thing was done to me at a prior auction that I didn't catch. Service

“Failure to protect my credit card charges”

When Auction Houses are to send invoices thru Proxibid. You have several days to pay. After the first invoices, Proxibid aloud access to my credit card and was charged the times by the same Auction Houses. Proxibid customer service just said that they cannot do anything. You have to contact the Auction House. This the second time this happened. I had to file a complaint with another State Attorney General office on the first one. Still no $$ or merchandise. There will not be a Third Time, I canceled my account with Proxibid. Products used:Nothing Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Proxibid's only concern is serving the auction companies,...”

Proxibid's only concern is serving the auction companies, not the bidder. I had a false complaint filed by an auction company employee I had personal conflict with. As a result Proxibid has blocked me from all bidding through the site. Proxibid's employees, whom I chatted with repeatedly, know this is incredibly unethical and they often apologize for the problem. They repeatedly promise to have someone call me to correct it, however, no one ever does. This is a shady company. I still bid in the auctions but I go to the site, never using Proxibid.

“It's funny that the only people who give Proxibid a...”

It's funny that the only people who give Proxibid a good rating are the third-party auctioneers. Their business is based to make THEM happy. The auction houses are their customers. If they don't get them to sign-up and sell through them, they have nothing to sell. I had a very bad experience with Proxibid and I believe they took the side of their auctioneers over me. The auction house wrote their "rules" in the auction information and did a complete 180 from what they wrote. Having being charged an additional fee I did not agree to, they chose the auctioneers side, basically saying "that's the way it works." Just beware, if you're going to use Proxibid you may be on your own if anything should arise. I will never use their service again.

“I used Proxibid for about 2 years, and while a few...”

I used Proxibid for about 2 years, and while a few articles were misrepresented, I purchased over $10,000 in merchandise without a hitch. Easton Auction Company out of Ohio had an auction for China Panda coins. I bid on and won about $200.00 worth. I checked on Ebay to see what they were going for and noticed the ones from Easton did not have a denomination on them. They were counterfeit. I notified Proxibid and they said they would open a case. Didn't hear from them for about 10 days and called and was told Easton said the case was settled, that they sent me an email, and closed case. Basically tough luck. They said they took the charges of fake coins VERY seriously. Well, the company has a new auction with,,,,, fake China Pandas. I will never use Proxibid again and I advise you not to also. Dave

“Proxibid allowed the auction house to charge my card...”

Proxibid allowed the auction house to charge my card without even sending me an invoice! I got charges various amounts without knowing for what. When contacted Proxibid not only did nothing to help me but even told me that the auction house has the right to choose how they run their business... Really! You took my card info and just give it to some crooks!

“Beware of hidden bidders”

Purchased a few items at a local auction( work auction of uniontown pa)! Everything was fine except 2 items that I was outbid on in the final minutes was on the next auction they ran! Since I've written reviews and they were pulled about workauction, also contacted proxibid and they allow this bidding and encourage it! When your the winning bidder and you are told you was o er bid to see item listed as passed? Bad business on both sides. Now auction is over you never see those bids again but those certain items bud up really didn't sale but back to seller! Bs scam

“Allows seller, auctioneer, acution house or representative of to bid in their own auctions”

Check the terms of sale carefully guys. This is a direct except: 'At the request of the auction company, this auction permits bids to be placed by the auctioneer, an employee of the auctioneer, or the seller or an agent on the seller's behalf. While Proxibid's Unified User Agreement prohibits this behavior, in accordance with UCC 2-328, this auction is permitted to engage in this activity by providing this clear disclosure to you, the bidder.' And part 2, same auction: 'This auction company has requested and been granted access to see all bids placed including any maximum pre-bids. This auction is permitted to engage in this activity by providing this clear disclosure to you, the bidder.' So, in a nutshell, it is somehow okay to allow the seller to not only see the bids before the auction starts, but to place their own bids. Sellers are plain kicked off of Ebay for that crap, it's called shill bidding, and reputable companies stay away from it like the plague. But not Proxibid. Products used:none Value

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
