monoprice.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives monoprice.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 82.3. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Reliable. Legitimate. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 82.3 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to monoprice.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Reliable. Legitimate. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a reliable and secure website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning monoprice.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between monoprice.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of monoprice.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of monoprice.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. monoprice.com is an innocuous website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether monoprice.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether monoprice.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, monoprice.com.

If I could leave less than 1 star I would. I have never had issues with Monoprice so I felt confident in buying 2 large 15 inch powered subwoofers. After about two weeks of use both of them stopped working. They wouldn't ship new ones until I shipped the old ones back and I no long had the boxes they came in so I had to spend 60 bucks buying boxes because they wouldn't trust that I would ship the old ones back, what would I do with non working woofers? So, I get the old ones shipped back and 5 months later I finally had my woofers. Great! I get them out of the box and they were damaged and not just a little bit, I emailed the company and nothing. They won't get back to me anymore and in looking these woofers it seems they sent me used woofers and the faceplates were broken off of both of them. I have emailed several times and called and I just get the run around and they won't send me new woofers now that I kept the boxes this time. I blew crazy money for something that I can't use now. I have never had issues with Monoprice before which is why this is so disappointing for me. I lost a brand that I trusted and they don't care.
500.00 cable order, all parts showed available, after 30 days no parts so I contacted them 6 parts were on backorder for another 30 days and one part not available till January. They were going to wait till January till they shipped my order. I am building out an office, which is opening in 12 day, and these jokers don't give a rats arse. We have used them before, but since not a good experience they absolutely will be removed from our vendor list.
While most of the cabling I buy is good, the amount of time it takes to fulfill orders and ship is atrocious, even when you pay extra for shipping. Jobs are delayed because of this and is causing headaches. No response from their customer service when inquired. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, POOR ORDER FULFILLMENT
I ordered a USB-C cable and an S/PDIF (Toslink) optical cable. Simple, right? But there are so many USB standards, and Monoprice's web site doesn't do a good job of contrasting its "Charge & Sync" and "Data & Power" cables; I had to contact customer service who quickly responded. The AtlasFlex USB cable seems great with sturdy jacketing.Meanwhile it turns out there are full-sized and mini Toslink connectors on optical cables. Monoprice correctly describes their optical cables, but they could caption or label each picture with what kind of connector it shows.
We bought 50 of their docks and they're frying our MacBook pros because of poor power specs. They won't return or refund. The same docks cause many issues with our Lenovo x1 carbons as well. After Monoprice saw this review on Trustpilot, they immediately got ahold of me and replaced the failed devices within days and resolved the problem. Disappointing that their support system didn't work and it took a Trustpilot review to get the help we needed. We're happy with their response after posting this review though.
I wanted to cancel my order at monoprice.com, but cancel option was unavailable/disabled, only return option was enabled. So I started Return process, Monoprice emailed me and it stated that I need to return the item to California and pay for shipping cost, I live in east coast, the UPS estimate for return shipping was over $100. What ?? I decided to keep the item rather than paying 3 or 4 times the item cost. I posted my review on their website describing what happened and monoprice took it down within an hour. Dishonest and very shady company.
I would call monoprice a zombie brand at this point. Even worse than Newegg. A Terrible series of me remembering how monoprice used to be has culminated in them actually stealing my money. They did not send me a monitor I purchased. Instead sent me some old phone cable and will not refund my money despite countless contacts to customer support. So I guess my money is held up for however long a Paypal dispute will take. Just shameful
Intact packaging and quick delivery. Quick and straight forward assembly - the washers and bolts could have been better organized and not just a grabbag of hardware. Not all the parts were cut cleanly. For example, the headrest piece that is supposed to clip in before screwing in wasn't cut all the way through, so part of it broke off and wouldn't fit flush.Overall, decent quality build, probably wouldn't buy again. A lot of complaints are also that the seat is incredibly short. I am 5'2 and it's a perfect ergo fit. If you're any taller, the headrest might actually rest on your shoulder blades.
Even when they know they screwed up, they are not proactive! They sent the incorrect item out to a LOT of people yet instead of automatically sending out RMA requests to everyone and refunding the money for their mistake, they sat back and let everyone they screwed over go thru the pain of dealing with their customer service!I've bought a lot of items from Monoprice thru the years but I'm done after this experience. They should own up to their mistakes and make things right!
I've been a volume VIP business purchaser for 11 years. I currently have orders from late August that are still pending shipment as of Sept 22. This is absolutely ridiculous. Whoever is leading your warehouse expansion should be terminated. This event has cost me thousands in losses. I need ALL my orders canceled at this point. Is there an ETA when things will be resolved??? Customer support is giving me the ring around.
Ordered 6 Indio Guitars Monoprice as Christmas Gifts. 5 of the Guitars were either Damaged or not Indio Guitars even thorough they had the Indio logo There were no Serial Numbers They were pure Junk After many Phone Calls and emails and Pictures They finally sent return labels Of course we have to drive 50 miles round trip to a Fed Ex. Also they did not compensate us in any way No Coupons for future Orders I dread waiting for my Money to be credited back as I am sure there will be an issue.
I might as well copy and paste most of the reviews on here from the past couple months. Ordered in late August, said it should ship within 2 business days. 2 weeks later I contact customer support, get the same line about warehouse in Kentucky everyone else has mentioned here, agent promised to contact warehouse and call me back same day or email me by next day. Which of course didn't happen.I have emailed escalations [@] monoprice.com as the clearly generic replies below say to do, will see what happens. And/or if they actually read these reviews or if I get the exact same instructions everyone else has, which again, I have already followed.
Disgusting business practices!! Dont believe the product page stating 'parts will ship today if order placed in x hours'. Misleading and false advertisement!! You will receive an order confirmation via email stating the parts will ship in 5-7 days - After your credit card is processed. They refuse to cancel the shipment and issue a refund. I am a VIP business customer and had an overnight order which did not ship. They will not cancel. I am told to refuse the package.
Contacted them at least four times through chat regarding an order that was placed September 1. Today I got shipment notification. I got the same run around and everyone else did. Warehouse moving… They did offer me an 8% discount.(Edit) Thank you Laura. Please post your contact info.
Absolutely, unprofessional. I placed an order on 9/2/21, for discounted items. They guaranteed shipment. After calling twice, I received an email that the item is out of stock and will not be available until 10/10/21. I've placed orders for tge same item in the past and received within 10 days. No one even took the liberty of updating me. Similarly, the same product I ordered is now available for purchase on their website for the original price. I will be finding another supplier for my business needs.
I bought two new subwoofer cables which Monoprice describes as being CL2 rate (for in-wall installation) for a new construction. Code requires that cables placed in wall are at least CL2 rated so I went ahead and ordered them. When I received them the packaging stated they are CL2 rated BUT there is nothing on the actual cable - so there's no way for me, or the inspector, to verify that they are actually CL2 rated. Now the inspector wants me to remove them and replace them with something that says they are CL2 rated.A total waste of money buying Made in China crap from these junk sellers.
I have purchased cables from Monoprice before and they have been ok, but given my recent order, which I still have not received, I would urge caution if you need anything sooner rather than later - make that MUCH later. Current order was placed and paid for on 9/25. Confirmation email said "order will be processed and shipped shortly." A 9/29 email said it was expected to ship 9/29. I received nothing further, so on 10/03, I checked the site to find that the package had been "tendered" for shipment on 9/30 and was now across the border from Monoprice in Ohio - only a few states left to go.
I must say I was a bit dubious when I ordered a 3D printer from them (cause price was crazy good) but alas, the product was delivery promptly and with per-loaded files ready for my 9 year-old to print away. Where Monoprice really shined however was their Customer Service. Responsive and went above and beyond to remedy a small issue. Cant say enough about what this meant to me & my Son. Paul and his team were awesome and that's why I am writing a review (something I never do!). Kudos to Monoprice for delivering on all fronts: Price, Quality. Customer Support.
I had a metal encased iPhone lightning cable go bad. Emailed Monoprice and they immediately shipped a replacement cable, and I received it within the week. This shows how much they stand behind their products, and their lifetime warranty isn't just for show. I will continue to buy products from them and will continue to recommend them to family and friends.
I have been waiting 3+ weeks on a $500 dollar order. Monoprice has no issue taking my money but no still no shipping date in sight. This company has become a joke. Customer service explained they were relocating warehouses. Don't take orders if you cannot fulfill them.

“Replacement Warranty Sucks! RMA: 991280122”
I placed a replacement order back in August of 2023 for a BT-205 headset. They sent me the replacement order. However, right off the bat, I had problems with the product. I would charge the headset, then 3 hours later after use. It would tell me I needed to charge it again. This continued for a months. Now, it's December of 2023 and the problem has continued and gotten worst. It's now telling me after 1.5 hours that the headset needs to be charged. I said ok, let me call Monoprice to see if they will send me a replacement since I'm having such issue. I called and the customer agent tells me that the replacement only covers from the original date of purchase. It does not cover from when you got the replacement. Say what now? I've never heard anything so ludicrous in my life. Then she offers me 10% towards another headset but does not give me the coupon code nor did she email it to me. Go figure! “Okay customer service”
They gave the wrong address to the shipper, so it's been a few weeks waiting for iPhone cables. They messaged back promptly and did ship things again and rectified the problem. Not a lot of initiative at first. Tip for consumers:If there’s problems with your order, good luck. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Trusty machine, amazing customer service”
I bought this printer after a while of struggling with my M3D Micro. I wanted a smooth and easy to use printer which I could use with little to new effort. This printer is exactly that, beautiful prints and clean moving parts. My only complaint is the WiFi functionality, file transfer takes ages, small files take about 10 minutes, and I honestly never seen a regular size file finish uploading.
“Products are fine, CS is not”
Be careful dealing with Monoprice. I placed an order 2/27/22 and on 3/3/22 I got an email saying they had a glitch in their system, and the price I paid was wrong, the actual price was 5 times what I paid. From their email: "I'm reaching out to inform you there was a glitch in our system at the time you placed the order. Product ID ####### had a price error, the price you were seeing was $1.70 but the correct total per item is $8.49. There is a balance of $143.94. I have sent you a Payment link for payment." They just billed me FIVE TIMES what I paid when it was their mistake? They didn't even offer to cancel and refund the order, let alone honor their price. I had to contact CS for a cancellation and refund. Poor customer service. Their products are fine, but I no longer recommend Monoprice. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Basically good company - BUT mediocre systems and customer service”
Been buying from Monoprice for years, but their shipping, communications, and customer service have gone downhill. When I ordered, everything was in stock and ready to ship. 6 days later I get an email saying one item is out of stock, so no shipment until today. I am due to install tonight, so I called and was on hold for 20 minutes with no answer, so I tried the online chat. Nice woman, but their systems are from 1987 and nothing can be changed. I need this equipment for a client install tonight... they don't care. Won't rush it for me. Can't tell me when it will get here. Bottom line - if you want good cheap stuff and have no time requirement, they can be a good choice. But there are many others, nowadays, with equal pricing & quality along with better service. “No follow up service”
Ha question on a monoprice mini printer so sent an email, got a response saying I would here from someone soon. After a week I resent request, then again in another week. Went to website for chat and told no one was available. Terrible terrible customer service
“Company has good people behind it!”
My first experience with the company was a bit frustrating due to the lack of shipping communication, but will say that they made things right. They really do have people that care especially Paul. Thank you!
“Lifetime until it breaks warranty”
Four phone calls later, no spare parts available for the now discontinued item, Affinity Premium speaker cables PID *******, $49.00 each. The cables have fragile breakable banana plug tips that screw on to a 10-32 stud. I had expected Monoprice to carry the replacement plugs for these premium cables but they don't. I was advised to cut off the ends of the cables and jury rig their stock banana plugs which don't fit. Disappointing lack of support from Monoprice. I am DISAPPOINTED! Forget lifetime warranty, how about product and or customer support? Former longtime customer.
“Terrible”
They don't send you what you order. Plain and simple. Waste of my time and money. Order somewhere else, even if it cost a little more it will save you the headache. Also - don't throw in weird food with your orders. I didn't ask for it and I don't want it. I ordered a cable and they sent "complimentary" food that I have religious restrictions against eating - highly offensive and unnecessary. Tip for consumers:Don't use this site. Terrible. Buy somewhere else. Products used:nothing. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Misleading on ease of returns”
Misleading company. They do not make returns easy or affordable. Bought a guitar and found out it was too big for my 9 year daughter and would have to pay almost the entire cost of the item to return it. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Used To Be Great - Not Anymore”
Monoprice used to be a great resource for cables, adapters, and other sundry electronic items. Ever since they were acquired by some corporation their prices have gone up and their quality has gone down. Look elsewhere for you electronics needs.
“Total scam”
I was ordered new monitor with promo code -30%. He charged me, confirm my order. After some time - cancel my order. Message from monoprice: This order has now been cancelled and cannot be reinstated. If you would still like to place a new order for the item(s), please go to www.monoprice.com and re-order. You can also use the quick buy feature to input the PID#s and quantities of the products you are purchasing from the following link. I will never buy here nothing. “Great Wires, Expensive Shipping”
Products from monoprice are well made. Just last month I bought 3 sets of usb cables. The previous usb cable lasted me for 2 years with constant wear and tear. The product quality feels like the same so I hope they last me 2 years again. I personally only buy wires here so i dont know much about their other products. Their shipping cost is really high though for just a couple of wires. They base it on how much you spend rather than what they are actually shipping which sucks. Products used:Usb cables Type c Usb cables Typ b to Micro Usb Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“As long as you don't expect to get your items on time you'll be FINE”
As long as you don't expect to get your items on time you'll be FINE. I would not have an issues, but the fact that I am paying for shipping the least you could do is ship timely and provide realistic delivery dates. Hopefully you will work on it for future.
“Bad cables, bad return policy”
I ordered a couple lightning cables, and they had very shaky connections. Their return policy required that I send them back before I can receive replacements, which would leave me without a way to charge my phone for a few days, which isn't doable. Bad return policy, no help from staff.
“Customer service is non existent”
I recently bought a monitor and it has a damaged screen. I've spent the past month just trying to get replies, but there customer service does not exist... monoprice is an awful choice if you're trying to find a site to buy electronics.
“Product arrived late and was broken”
Estimated ship date was 11/16, shipped 11/23, and arrived on 12/1. Product arrived with a broken screen, and because they were sold out, all they offered was a refund and wouldn't give me an alternate product. Had I received the product on time, I could have bought another on black friday. I had heard poor things about monoprice before, but I thought the deal was too good to pass up. Don't make the same mistake I did, just buy from elsewhere.
“Monoprice the place for no support”
Well once again monoprice provide zero phone support and doesn't respond to emails. They sent me a nvr that won't install ip cameras and have now gone through 3 saxophones that were damaged. But the latest one is a used instrument, no manual and the reed is already attached to the mouthpiece and without any of the spare reeds. Selling used equipment as new is illegal. So now monoprice is not only doing horrible customer service, but doing illegal activities.
“Monoprice doesn't stand behind their products or provide customer servcie...”
Bought a pair of Monoprice 18" speaker stands from Amazon. Didn't order from Monoprice because the last few times I did I was assaulted with numerous marketing spam emails. Unsubscribing didn't stop them. Package delivered unopened and when I did I found parts missing from the sealed parts bag. Apparently the person at the great Chinese speaker stand company sneezed when loading my parts bag. Called Amazon and they were willing to pick up the heavy box, return it at no charge, and send another box. Seemed like a lot of work, time, and money wasted so I called Monoprice. The CS agent said "we don't supply parts" so call Amazon. So if Monoprice doesn't supply parts what good is their "lifetime warranty" on these speaker stands and their other products? Monoprice used to be an honorable business... not anymore. Service Value Quality
“Same day shipping = never shipped”
I ordered a couple of noise cancelling headphones paying a shipping premium for 2 day delivery. Mono price never sent the parcel to the shipper. I called them to let them know that the shipper (Lasership?) had posted an exception on their tracking screen saying that they had not received the parcel. Mono price customer service said that happens all the time but that the parcel had actually shipped. Three days later, no headphones and the shipper still posts that they haven't received the parcel. Guess I'm going overseas without headphones. Terrible customer service, zero effort to correct problems brought to their attention, and a "too bad" attitude. Lesson learned. I will never buy from this company again. Tip for consumers:DOn't use this site if it is important that you actually receive what you are purchasing in a timely manner. Service Shipping Returns
“Worst product and terrible customer service!”
I am opening a venue and purchased a Sonos system. Pricey and wonderful. After calling Monoprice, they assure me of their super metal shelves to secure each of my 500 speakers up high... Once we received them, we realized those shelves could indeed move the speaker from right to left and up and down... YET, speaker would be free standing... Not able to secure the speaker to this shelve is simply insane... and we told them do! We of course decide to return those "effective" shelves... as they do not serve a purpose safely. Company refused to pay for return(48 dollars). And took longer than usual to reimburse. The manager was out to lunch. No one cared... I would not advise to buy from this company as products are poor and so is their response...
“Terrible Terrible Terrible”
Absolutely, unprofessional. I placed an order on 9/2/21, for discounted items. They guaranteed shipment. After calling twice, I received an email that the item is out of stock and will not be available until 10/10/21. I've placed orders for tge same item in the past and received within 10 days. No one even took the liberty of updating me. Similarly, the same product I ordered is now available for purchase on their website for the original price. I will be finding another supplier for my business needs. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Caution... if your expecting support after the purchase I would look elsewhere...”
I purchased a Select Mini V2 around 40 days ago. My SD card that came with the printer recently is mostly bad in available memory and getting worse. I am no longer able to print anything bigger then small files. I have not been able to find a replacement Micro SD card to work. Tech support does not respond and in a attempt to return the printer its very quite... that is no response. In a short while I will have a useless printer once the card goes completely bad. To say I would use MonoPrice again would be a lie. I hope I have a useable printer tomorrow. I have read forms to create a new working Micro SD card with no success... Reconsider using Monoprice unless your sure you wont have issues... on second thought... If someone would just respond to any of my request i may be less ticked... really.
“Very disappointed”
I have purchased many products from monoprice over the last 12 years. Most seem too be of good quality. Months ago I purchased a HDMI splitter from them, which didn't work. I emailed them and received a case number. That's where everything ended. I email many time over the following months with no response. I finally decided to call, I was put on hold for an hour and fifteen minutes, only to be disconnected. I finally gave up and took the loss. They have lost my business forever!
“Their website doesn't work for returns!”
Tried to return an item that was not working for me... the "return an item or order" link didn't work, tried another part of the website... said my order number wasn't valid even though it was and then called their telephone number and all I got was busy signals. This is not good customer service in my mind. Update: Since this review, through Best Buy, I was able to contact Monoprice and they took the purchase off my credit card and did not request a return of the item... I guess because it was a very small purchase.

- They will notify you when your personal info is leaked online so you can delete your private data from the Internet immediately.
- Surfshark has a super powerful antivirus program. It offers you effective protection from viruses and zero-day threats, a lightweight, clean, and easy-to-use app, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
- Check this: They hide your online searches, which means you will get only organic search results without tracking and follow-up ads. For example, when you search for a flight, and the next time you look at the same search, the prices are higher. With Surfshark, this doesn't happen.
For the Black Friday promotion, Surfshark offers 86% off + up to 5 months free to Scam Detector readers. You can get the deal only this week HERE or by clicking the button below.

Are You the Owner of monoprice.com?
If you own monoprice.com, we’d love to hear from you. If you'd like to challenge the trust score we’ve assigned, we’re happy to take a closer look. However, please be prepared to provide solid proof of your business's legitimacy. Introduce yourself with your name (not just "Admin").
When domain owners contact us to dispute their trust score, we kindly ask for the following:
* Business documentation that verifies your legitimacy (e.g., certificate of incorporation, business registration, or official records with the site or business name).
* Your personal LinkedIn profile and the business's social media accounts (e.g., Facebook).
* If available, proof of satisfied customers (e.g., screenshots, not just testimonials on your website), evidence of inventory, or records of handling order cancellations properly.
We’re more than willing to update your review based on the evidence you provide—the more proof, the higher your trust score. Please note, however, that we cannot verify non-operational websites or those redirected to other URLs. Additionally, we do not verify websites involved in high-risk financial services, gambling, adult content, or illegal activities.
