So disappointed and embarrassed, thought I could rely on m and s. Had a collection for a colleagues 50th birthday. Delivery was guaranteed for the day before, so we could present to her. It's still sat in the DPD depot. From experience I know it will never be seen again. The customer service response was we will deliver in 48 hours. Seriously. Oh I know you had a collection and expected a present for a colleague. She will get it several days after. Just terrible. I now have to somehow get something else. Not easy when I'm working.
Poor quality underwear resulting in a wire protruding from fabric and piercing skin.Complained to Head Office enclosing said item for their inspection, but no one has had the courtesy to even bother replying.I've been a customer of M&S for over 40 years but not any more.
Having received several online clothes orders recently, i have noticed that quality is slipping noticably. In one order, there was a slash hole in one of the tops which was big, and meant I had to send it back. When I re-ordered, the app let me order and pay for non existent stock. Luckily i ordered two! Just received 2 x £39.50 sports gilets. One is stained on the front and has a big snag inside (a previous customer return?), and the other is poorly stitched in places. Im now checking everything i receive very carefully. Sick of having to return items! Definitely considering my future custom!
I have been going to the Marks and Spencer at Walkden for many years and I would just like to compliment a member of staff called Sam who is the most helpful and polite member of staff I have ever come across. I have not seen him about for a number of weeks and it would be such a detriment to the store if he no longer works there. He represents the highest award for customer service.It's always a pleasure shopping at this store but he made the experience excellent. 5 star customer service.
I have shopped at M&S for over 40 years across 5 different countries. All has gone really well until I bought a sofa. The quality is very poor, after-sales service even worse. The product is clearly faulty (see many other reviews on M%S sofas), very poorly constructed, and I have complained multiple times. The advice was, 'You can contact the ombudsman.' I have now given up, will get rid of the (expensive) sofa, and buy another from somewhere else. What has happened to M&S? A shadow of previous customer service.

Marks and Spencer restaurant Inverness today; what a shock, is this their new accepted way to serve food?! A toasted sandwich, taken from shelf by myself, stuck into a heat source of some kind, then the unopened bag, just stuck on a plate, no knife, no napkins, nothing. Really hot to open with bare hands, scalding hot infact, and hard to tear open without scissors. The outer packaging in contact with the plate you are going to eat off, totally unhygenic at well. What a disaster, who thought of this? Cannot believe standards fallen so far; what other country in the world (maybe only USA?) would serve food in this way? Gross.
Second time of M&S not processing a refund for items returned. Purchases made online and returned following the M&S procedure at store. Both times I have had to chase to be told they have cancelled my return! Seems a deliberate attempt to keep people's money in the hopes they don't notice and chase the return! Very dissapointing! If you return anything to M&S online be sure to check you get your money back!
Ordered flowers as a gift to arrive 19 august - email at 9.58 said they were ‘ being kept safe at the yodel hub’ thought they were cutting it a bit fine so kept checking back, same message. I contacted m and s via chat they said someone would contact me, they didn’t bother. I checked again after work - same message. I rang m and s - awful customer service, problem not resolved, ‘too late now to deliver’ so flowers not delivered. Would give zero if I could. Ordered goods on a Saturday whilst away. The expected delivery date was Tues 20th August. The goods came Monday 19th August. Delivered by EVRI. The delivery email was not from our usual EVRI person. The email just said, "Delivered to neighbour'. No number given, even though all houses are clearly numbered, as yet, nothing from the neighbours. Suspect it's been pocketed. I know these people are on a tight schedule. Left with neighbour requires fewer keystrokes, time than left at No: x?
Be really careful when shopping with M&S. Bought a pack of rolls with best before date of 19/08. Came to open them on 19/08 but there was visible mould - pack was still sealed. Second time this has happened so took a photo and started an online chat. Explained i did not have the receipt but had a photo of the unsealed pack taken on 19/08 showing the mould and read the bar code out to them. Was told not a problem - they would send me a gift card to replace the cost and asked me to email the photo in. Have now been told nothing they can do without the receipt. Packet clearly shows this was an M&S product which was mouldy before opening on best before date. Customer services have simply wasted my time - and M&S have wasted my money on buying goods unfit for consumption - twice!
Adequate went in to pick up a few bits and pieces lots of items unavailable and the bakery wasn’t too tidy not up to the usual standards and queues too long.
I agree that the Sparks loyalty card is very poor. I’m only ever ‘rewarded’ with vouchers for things I never buy. It’s as though with all the information they’ve gathered about my shopping habits, they deliberately withhold anything useful but continue to attempt to get me to buy products I don’t want. Where’s the loyalty bonus for me? Constant attempt at upselling and no actual attempt to reward me for that loyalty.
What poor service!! Visited the outlet in the Lowry on a weekend away. Wanted to return a bra. Visited my nearest store 30 miles from my home to be told we don’t take outlet shopping back but you can go another outlet store 40 miles away! Well thanks M&S !!
I believe M&S’s women’s size 6 is at least an 8 in reality. I’m really frustrated by this as I’ve always used M&S a lot, but now I can’t buy their clothes because their smallest size ie 6 is way to big for me, particularly in their tops, dresses and skirts. So as a long standing customer my question to M&S is: Can you please, please, please introduce a size 4 and do more petite tops, skirts and dresses. Otherwise, me and many others simply cannot buy your clothes :-(
Went to Marks and Spencer’s cafe today what a nightmare !! I have done a survey for them twice and told them my experience with no joy hoping they will read this The cafe used to have a system where they left a trolley and you could put your own tray there when you left , so freeing up the table for the next person great! I know not everyone clears up but most do Works in Morrisons cafe Some idiot from above thought no let’s send one of the staff round with a trolley to clear away It is horrid we have to sit there and watch while they take ages to clear the rubbish into a bin put the cutlery into another pot and then separate the plates and cups Instead of just taking the trays and doing all the clearing in the kitchen WHAT A STUPID IDEA!! I decided to buy a box of the red diamond strawberries that are highly advertised and highly recommended by the top chef on television. They just taste like most other strawberries I’ve bought from Lidl, Sainsbury’s, and Tescos. In fact the only difference is the much higher price!!!!!!
Appalling service ordered wardrobes several years ago to be fitted by M&S, fitter wouldn't fit them so no wardrobes.Didn't learn my lesson as ordered a wardrobe several weeks ago, order accepted, money paid and delivery confirmed numerous times to then cancel. Called customer service and was told order still ok and due to be delivered as agreed and text followed confirming delivery then got an email saying cancelled!!!. Contacting trading standards as M&S accepting an order holding your money for weeks only to cancel. Not good practice from supposedly a leading brand that is constantly deteriating in good customer service and honesty
For many years I would not have considered M&S for clothing. The quality was mediocre and the designs were awful - garish colours and over-embellished with logos and slogans.All that has changed. Marks now realise that less is more. The designs and quality are extremely good. Their Oxford shirts are particularly well made.I recently ordered one online. It was at my local store within 48 hours and was well wrapped, with a return label if needed. I am a huge convert to the company and will continue using it, provided it maintains its current standards.
I arrived at Lime Street Station to find my train cancelled. Called in to Lime Street M and S to see if they would accept my assistance dog with me. They were delightful and helpful. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and their help. Thank you.

“U.S buyers beware!”
I ordered pants that they are selling on their website for $69.49 and when the pants arrived, it have a price tag on it of 39.50 British pounds = $49. Feel like I got ripped off by paying an extra $20 for cheap pants.LOL (For the shipping I paid an additional $13). When I emailed them and said that the price tag showing $49 and they were charging $69, the response was a brush-off, that they need to pay their employees, rent etc.
“Appalling customer service”
After a six week wait for two Hastings bedside cabinets they arrived badly damaged. The reorder took 7 weeks. Those arrived scratched and badly painted. Pictures says it all. Please see below on food purchased day before i attempted to cook! Staff at Hastings ~East Sussex Branch were rude arrogant and refused basic apology and refund! “The worst. Parcel never arrived but they keep confirm that it was and showed me a random proof”
If I could give 0 I would. I order school uniforms for our kids late August but the parcel never arrived. Worst, we got an email saying the parcel has well been received and when we complain to M&S they confirm the same information and showing the proof of parcel reception with a completely random signature on it (we can't have any idea for which name at all the signature stands for). And they ask me for the 5th time to well checked with my neighbors and in the garden which I confirm each time but they still keep saying the same. Not to mention they ask me to send a same declaration (that I didn't receive the parcel) again and again as if there is no coordination. I have been a loyal customer of M&S for all our kids uniforms for so long but this time is a goodbye. The clothes' quality is also clearly in decline. Marks and Spencer stolen 95.50 pounds from me. I contacted the customer service team, sent the emails with evidence that I was cheated however they just ignored all my emails and calls. It seems like this is a new way of making money for Marks and Spencer. This is to think twice before purchasing anything from them online. You will be cheated. “Cheap and shoddy”
If you like black or dark blue clothes dont get them from M&S. Within a couple of washes (cold wash) they will be grey and a sort of purply colour. Paper thin material too. Their quality has really gone downhill.

“Xmas delivery didnt happen!”
What a shocking experience from marks and Spencers on line floral delivery. Ordered on Wednesday of Xmas week for the Friday, not delivered so I made the call to be told the courier would not deliver, no one from M+S ever called me to let me know this! After several conversations they refunded my £35 and offered me £20 good will! Considering the huge disappointment, the really late notification and the time spent on phone I consider the £20 INSULT! Not even the offer of another bouquet free for £35... lost a customer for life... and they wonder why they are going down the pan!... what an opportunity they had to put right and WOW a reasonably good customer...
“Stone in food product”
I cannot begin to convey my disappointment at M&S. They belittled the discomfort and stress they caused me. One of their food products contained a stone which caused immediate tooth pain. My tooth could be broken and I strongly suspect that it is because it's still uncomfortable (sometimes painful) and because I had perfect dental health before the incident. Now worried about it getting worse when pregnant and needing treatment. (It's a bit of a waiting game now for it to get worse or, hopefully but unlikely, better). I can understand that sometimes foreign objects are missed but what I cannot understand is how this can be described as an "unpleasant experience" and offered £20 e-voucher. Appalling.
“Good quality fabric well made good service”
I bought 5 pairs of ladies trousers. They were all fit well, we're well put together and of quality fabric. They are all exactly as pictured. The buying process was very easy, delivery from UK to Australia was within the estimated time and delivery was also free because my order exceeded £30. Only negative is that there isn't a currency converter at checkout, but this isn't a deal breaker for me.
“Awful M&S Sofa”
I don't normally purchase furniture online, but felt reassured that I was buying from M&S where quality and service matter right -? Well how wrong can you be - our worst purchase ever in January this year! We are a family of four and can't move without loud creaking noises coming from our new sofa plus two days wasted holiday from work to have assessors come around and tighten up sofa joints that made absolutely no difference. After that, M&S refused to assist us further. We referred this matter to the Furniture Ombudsman who, without even coming and visiting us, sided with M&S. Worst, worst piece of furniture ever and M&S are now expecting us to go away and live with a bad product. Avoid them don't buy online awful customer service hugely disappointed with M&S - what has happened to this company?
“Great service”
I appreciate the easy to use website and that things arrive quickly, too. I've used them several times. One Christmas, I had to top up my shopping with some last minute gifts... they had indicated an order deadline to ensure delivery before Christmas and true to their estimation, everything came in time. The only reason I've given 4 stars is because one of the 6 items from my last order does not correspond to their size chart in the slightest. I've yet to contact them to sort out but I'm sure they'll handle it well.

Ordered ladies trench coat and ladies top by their recommended sizing. They came in one package. Both items were too large and wanted to return. Their return policy is to deduct $22.50 for each item returned. Absolutely misleading when they advertise no hassle return policy. Never buy on-line from Marks & Spencer. It's a total costly mistake! “Better than the high street”
I don't like going to Marks on the high street. Too many old women doddering around the store, clogging up the aisles. So, I shop online. Always find my size and happy with the quality -I'm not a prolific shopper here - just the essentials, bras pants and comfy bed wear. Like I say, this company has a serious high street image though. The food is way too expensive to justify and clothing has a feint whiff of lavender and mothballs about the place.
“DEAD FLOWERS FROM M&S”
If you like dead flowers then this is the place to go. My lovely family ordered flowers for me from M&S for Mothers Day. They arrived by courier this morning. I think they're lilies, but it's hard to tell. They were in a box with a plastic bag over the flowers. The stems were very dry and the leaves and flowers were dead. Some plant food was enclosed, but it would take more than plant food to revive these specimens. I have contacted M&S, but as yet have not received a reply.
“Lovely products... but their website could use some work”
I enjoy shopping on M&S, I can always find something I want, but then I have to checkout. I do everything online and I like to think of myself and fairly savvy, but their checkout has fooled me several times. People from ethnic minorities are treated differently to their white counterparts when it comes to pay, promotions, fair treatment, working time regulations, basic human dignity and recruitment. For example, in Peterborough store where the ethnic minorities accounts for nearly 30% population. However, I have witnessed how people from ethnic minorities were not given equal opportunities. In store out of the 120 colleagues, people belong to ethnic minorities is under 5 people. I have seen this across many stores of M&S. Similarly, in senior Management in stores you would never ever find ethnic minority colleagues. “Market Street, Manchester horrendous Customer Service”
Yesterday my wife went to M&S Market Street to return a pair of school trousers that she bought the previous day and were too small for our son. The woman at the till was very rude to her because the shop label was missing. My wife would rather have someone that politely explain to her she won't be able to return the item (even though she got the receipt and the hanger) than to have a sales assistant being aggressive, moody and rude over such a small thing.
