malwarebytes.org Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives malwarebytes.org a medium-risk trust score on the platform: 66.5. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Known. Vetted. Low Risk.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 66.5 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to malwarebytes.org's industry. The algorithm detected a slightly lower risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, noted in the Known. Vetted. Low Risk. tags above. Long story short, we recommend staying vigilant and using common sense when engaging with this website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning malwarebytes.org, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between malwarebytes.org and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of malwarebytes.org. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of malwarebytes.org, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. malwarebytes.org is likely a safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether malwarebytes.org has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether malwarebytes.org boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, malwarebytes.org.
Online Reviews of malwarebytes.org

- Score: 3.7
The software is first class. Been using it for many years and never a trojan/malware has passed into my system. The negative reviewers are bad actors, in my opinion.
This product is complete garbage. It is also a dishonest company as it makes it impossible to remove or deactivate the product once installed. Avoid at all costs
I have spent very long time trying to uninstall this App from my computer with no result, try to chat to smart AI on thier website, it tells me something went wrong before I start the chat! installed the support tool, not working. I'm really annoyed and frustrated. They made a simple process to be impossible.Really not happy
The free version was great but paid also automatically scans for viruses and malware plus it comes with a VPN
I have been using their software for several years, and they provide a good level of protection at a price that is in line with the market standard. The customer service is excellent and responsive, which helps retain customers. However, I regret the lack of promotions when renewing the subscription, which would have been a great added value.
What everyone is claiming about horrible customer service is accurate. At one time when Malwarebytes was a small outlet, they aimed to please. Unfortunately, they now could care less about any technical issues and their only objective is to force you to buy additional subscriptions.
This software cannot be trusted because:1) instead of looking at individual websites, it flags the whole ip not considering if the server is shared hosting.2) It uses spam database to flag server ips according to their forum so it cannot call itself an antivirus software or malware scanner. Just because a website on the ip spams, doesn't mean the whole ip should be flagged as MALWARE!!! How is spam mails same as MALWARE or PHISHING??? And, why should a domain sending spam emails cause another website to be flagged as MALWARE??? Millions of websites have been flagged that contain no malware or phishing so I don't know why it still exists or why people keep using it.3) Not surprised it is not on Virustotal
Suddenly, I cannot use some features of Tesco.com's website except in an In Private Window - unless I disable Malwarebytes browser guard. My specific problem is that clicking on "Book another slot" causes a flickering window with no possibility of selecting a date. It may be just a coincidence that the problem began after the renewal of my annual Tesco Delivery Saver subscription.
I've used Malewarebytes for probably over 10 years at this point. It's a fantastic product that I would recommend to anyone.
I was migrating from NatWest copy of Malwarebytes as they were discontinuing it and I was considering going direct with the firm. Raised a service ticket with them for advice and information and had an amazing response. They (Dom) could not have been more helpful and I signed up for two years for two devices as I have had no problems with my PCs (2 x laptops) ever since I installed their product some years ago. Thanks again Dom for your help and completely thorough follow ups. Very impressed Sir!
The Customer Service is appalling you’re constantly talking to her about then if you get transferred to the queue since you reached the bottom of the queue, you then sent back up to the top. If you eventually send an email they will cancel the subscription, but will not offer you a refund, which is a greatly unfair because this is what I’ve been requesting because it’s been on constant automatic review. I stopped it a year ago but this year they’re taking the money again now they’re not answering.
Last year there was a problem with the auto update, I had an enormous multi hundred gig software download happen which cost me around $300.00 in excess data.. Malwarebytes were quick to rectify the situation and completely reimbursed me. Great company that stands by their product, which also is a great product, have been using it for years and can rest assured that my phone is protected.
I have been using Malwarebytes for some time now. They have expanded their product protection which now allows me to add it to my Android device(s).When I believe in a company and their product, I level up to the Pro coverage. Worth every penny.I don't have to worry about remembering to 'run' a program, Malwarebytes does it's thing, doesn't slow down my system and only alerts me when something important needs my attention. I highly recommend!
I use Malwarebytes Premium on both of my work computers (software development). I've also installed it on my wife's computer and both of our laptops. I recommend Malwarebytes to my friends when they realize they have some sort of issue when their browser gets taken over. It always seems to solve their issue.
I am obsessed with Antivirus and malware programs and I tried a lot (more than 24) after trying every one I finally settle on one and that is Malwarebytes. I first used a trial version a long time ago and I love the software so I buy it. In 2012 I buy a lifetime subscription to the software.Since then I had no worries about Viruses, Malware, Spyware, Trojans, rootkits or any malicious URL, spam or Phishing.
Their "system" is not to be trusted as they only sometimes recognize the exact same password used to enter their site. They seem to not know what emails they themselves are sending and what notifications they can send through their app when ALL functions are turned on and 1 says 1 thing, and the other says another thing. Who to trust? And their chatbot has a very poor recognition of plain english. And is unable to help.
My pc had been affected by a series of viruses. Normal antivirus software could not deal with these viruses. Thus, I tried using Malwarebytes, not only did it solve my problems, but it also found a number of hidden viruses that were affecting the performance of my computer. Since that day I have used Malwarebytes to keep my computer safe.
I was contacted their support team because I was scammed by 3rd party seller. Provided all the information and being honest. I am amazed, Malwarebytes just gave me 1 year premium licence what I originally purchased. Thank you very much!
Malwarebytes are simply the best !!!I had an issue and it was resolved within 24 hours.Other corporate companies should learn how to look after and more importantly keep their loyal customers.
Malwarebytes anti-malware is one of a kind and will never let you down. I switched to him in 2013 after I stopped using the antivirus AVAST. The latest updates and pointless features have made that antivirus useless. It slowed down my computer, ate too much memory, and was of no help. A friend of my parents, who passed away several months ago, told us to use it because it is the best program for removing malware. That was how I discovered it in 2013. Every piece of malware, every trojan or worm, he removed or quarantined, unlike others who failed at it. There are moments when he will lag, but it won’t last that long. Use his extension with uBlock Origin for top-notch security and protection from spam and malware. I did that, and I never looked back.

“Malwarebytes Update Damaged or Disabled All Appa”
Early yesterday May 18,2024 notified to update. Updated, then scanned. All apps damaged or disabled. Cleared browsing data and restarted. No improvement. 3 times. Support ticket via email. No response. Contact on Facebook Messenger. Jerked me around. Provided support ticket number. Promised an agent would contact me. None did. Can't even get into Google Play to uninstall. No support. Try to log in to my Malwarebytes account with password. They email me verification code, enter, says Invalid Code. Starting to look like a scam. Tip for consumers:Support Products used:Internet security Service Value Quality
“POOR Customer Support!”
There is no way to get customer support from this company - its all virtual and does not provide a way to specify a unique problem - if it doesn't fit the criteria in their virtual interchange you are out of luck - no way to connect with a live person. Try to get support and all you get is on-line sales promotions - My God, I am already a subscriber. Don't try to sell me something before you solve my problem! Waste of time! Service
“Did not resolve virus that redirects search from google to other sites.”
Malwarebytes did not resolve search hijacking viruses from my computer. Then, to make it worse; they absolutely have No Customer Support. This is a trial version so it should work the same as that after purchase, you would think. Products used:Malwarebytes Service Value Quality
“STOLE ALMOST 2 WEEKS OF MY SUBSCRIPTION”
Full 2 weeks before my premium expired, they were constantly bombarding me with notices to renew - I did not want before it was time, not to loose the 2 weeks - so they switched off features such as updating, scans, and who knows what else - eventually I had to download a free version for 2 weeks (they promise a 30 day trial period! But get only 14 days! - an other one contravening the trade description act!) to be protected; Needless to say am now buying an other make! I'd give it zero if I could.
“Poor communication about a glich in the software shut me down 5 hours today”
What a piece of junk stop my computer this weekend only found out through searching my programs. Apparently there was an error issued Jan 27 that ram was being eaten up by the program it killed my PC. Found this; https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/*******-web-blocking-ram-usage-how-to-recover-home-users/ Yah you dim- a- holes could have done an update or email to warn people about this problem, Then you shut down any conversation regarding it. COVER-UP..
“Poor tech support”
I have a legacy license which never expires. Several days ago, my old computer crashed. Malwarebytes refuses to activate the license on the new one. I've contacted tech support via email several times, but all they do is issue ticket numbers and never respond with "how to" or other instructions. They respond with total silence.
“Customer Service Is Terrible”
I've been using the premium version for a couple of years and I used to like it. Now comes the time for it to renew and one of my licenses is hidden from my account so I can't make any credit card or address changes. Malwarebytes is of no help and they only passed the buck to Cleverbridge who can't help me because they don't show that license either. I suspect somebody at MB screwed up and deleted it from my account and are now covering it up, but they didn't seem to have a problem renewing it when I wanted to cancel the auto renew. I'm looking to dump MB permanently and do not recommend anybody get the premium version if the company cannot fix their internal issues first. I'm already put them on notice. They stink!
“Malwarebytes - Worst Product Ever - NEVER DOWNLOAD IT.”
Great product completely destroyed by their complete lack of people skills and business ethics. Never ever download it. Is is not FREE, do not leave it on your pc even after the trail period ends. Malwarebytes claims that it breaches their EULA even when the 14 trail period expires. You will be charged with many of thousand of $ and with legal action. Its useless after its trail period cannot be used at all, but they still harass you, threaten you and insult you. They have very bad people working for them. Customer service is completely lost on them. Products used:Malwarebytes Business License Service Value Quality
“Support is horrible and slow”
The free version is pretty good so I thought to my self lets get premium, what a joke computer ran the worst, and slow since Iv'e had it. Stopped half of their running programs and computer is back to being fast.
“Avoid MalwareBytes”
I used MalwareBytes successfully for many years. It was straightforward. Then they were bought by European company. Now it has many options and they will not tell you the cost for any except the two week version they call "Free". You get nothing. Premium is very expensive I am told.
“Forced to Restart”
Been using Malwarebytes for many years. It's flagged the odd thing over the years. The current software upgrade finished with the message "Restart now or it will automatically restart in 10 minutes". Dear Malwarebytes, that is an unacceptable ultimatum.
“Scammers steal your credit card info”
I don't know how but after downloading the free version these people got ahold of my credit card information without my knowledge and charged me for a subscription last year that I didn't notice. I know because I recently froze my previous card and got a new one that I did NOT put into their system yet they charged it!
“Alleged scans, but no actual results”
Downloaded this mainly to remove the bs comet. Yahoo extension malware. Absolute joke. Sure it scans, the same as any other "malware" software, but basically ends there. Only allowing a quarantine of alleged infections or warning, but won't activate the actual Web protection until actual purchase. Sorry, but I'm not forking over $40 for a scape ghost scan/protection "sampler". Show me that it actually works, and THEN maybe I'll purchase.
“Lifetime purchase is meaningless.”
When I purchased Malwarebytes years ago, I was led to believe it was good for my lifetime. Over the years, I've been prompted to update the s/w version, which until today went without a hitch. Today, it is asking for my license key after installing over the previous version. Would it have been too hard to warn me I would need the key before hand? And besides, how many people keep a s/w key from 10 years ago? So, basically I'm being cheated out of my lifetime purchase. I will never use Malwarebytes again and would not recommend it to anyone.
“I downloaded the latest free version 2 with no trouble...”
I downloaded the latest free version 2 with no trouble. It required a re-boot and did a scan when re-booted. I have been using this program along with my paid for program for years and it is very reliable. I use the add-on Chameleon for this to work safely without being hacked it must be put into the same folder as Malwarebytes. I dont have any trouble with it or other protection programs as apart from my paid one none are run in real time but only on demand. Its the one hackers fear as a high tech. Hacker tried to disable it but couldnt so caused my PC to switch off. I wouldnt be without it.
“Horrible product”
Horrible product. Constantly sends me on-screen reminders to install the latest version - every day all day. At first I tried to install the "latest" version but it still reminds me every day of another "newest" version. I even tried to check the box for automatic updates. I have notifications turned off and still constant interruptions to my day. Then it is almost impossible to find someone to contact about this issue. Took me 10 minutes searching just to find a form which probably will not be read by anyone. I dont have time for this.
“Malwarebytes Premium is a rip-off!”
I purchased Malwarebytes Premium about 7 months ago. Lately, I keep getting a pop-up window every few minutes alerting me that Real Time Web Protection is turned off. However, I am unable to turn it back on! Now my computer has been compromised by a virus and will cost me about $250 to rectify! Of course, Malwarebytes does not have a telephone number for help. Hey, Malwarebytes: BYTE ME!
“If you are an IT Manager, block anything Malwarebytes”
MalwareBytes creates email campaigns targeting companies. Even if they don't target your company people get marketing emails from them all the time. Some of your employees will download what appears to be a free version. However it's not a free version, or the free has limits, plus it's a home edition. I suggest you read through the EULA and Privacy Policy then decide for yourself. If your employees install more than 10 instances they know your IP and will call you asking you to pay up. They use hard tactics claiming lawsuits and lawyers. Even if you agree to remove everything they will keep coming. They try to scare you into a contract. Save yourself some grief, block any and all incoming emails from anything that has to do with Malwarebytes. Block your employees from installing MalwareBytes. Then you don't have to worry about it. Again, you should read through EULA and decide for yourself. Service Value Quality
“Unhappy costumer!”
I renewed my subscription on the internet 12/12 via the CleverBridge and am still getting requests to renew same. The charge has already shone up on my credit card but I am unable to get any info from your company re "what's going on" I am an unhappy customer!
“Malwarebytes Failure”
While doing an update of Malwarebytes, the software allowed in all sorts of spam and pushing. Contacted Malwarebytes for help. Received a support ticket, and that was it. No customer contact or support. Requested my premium account be closed. They sent two downloads (no explanations, reasons). Download files and they went directly to file directories. First time to experience a download doing this; frightening. Still no contatc or customer support from Malwarebytes. Can not recommend this product. Tip for consumers:I can not recommend Malwarebytes. Service Value Returns Quality
“Malwarebytes is a site that offers Anti-Malware software...”
Malwarebytes is a site that offers Anti-Malware software for cleaning up those little nasties that creep through. I have used the Free version of this software and always seems to get the PC running smoothly again after any hiccups.
“Malware (from the latin "mal", meaning bad) is a pain...”
Malware (from the latin "mal", meaning bad) is a pain to find and get rid of. Malware Bytes is another free utility (you can buy a version if you want). Lovely software you should have in your arsenal.
“Malwarebytes”
I have use this program for many years and does a great job. I have installed it on other peoples PC to get rid of virus,... This program work, when others did not. I had the premium version, but let it run out. Thinking of buying it again. I have the free version and it does a good job.
“I have never had a problem with Malwarebytes'”
I have never had a problem with Malwarebytes'. It is fantastic and will run in addition to other antivirus software. Malwarebytes' helps eliminate spyware and malware that often antivirus programs don't pick up. The free version is an on-demand program which means it doesn't provide live protection like Norton and Trend-Micro. In saying this, it won't stop malware from getting onto your computer but will remove it once you scan your computer. On-demand software such as the free versions of Malwarebytes' and SuperAntiSpyware are compatible with live programs such as the ones mentioned above.
“I stumbled across malwarebytes just under a year ago...”
I stumbled across malwarebytes just under a year ago and i have kept it on my computer/friend's computers and my family's computer since. They program is easy to use and update and it really cleans your computer of all malicious programs. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great free anti-malware program that does a great job.

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately.
