livingsocial.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives livingsocial.com a fairly high trust score on the platform: 81.2. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Fair. Valid. Known.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 81.2 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to livingsocial.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Fair. Valid. Known. tags above. Long story short, we deemed this a known website, with a low scam probability. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning livingsocial.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between livingsocial.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of livingsocial.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of livingsocial.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. livingsocial.com is an innocuous suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether livingsocial.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether livingsocial.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, livingsocial.com.
Online Reviews of livingsocial.com

For longer than I care to remember, this company constantly bombard my email with absolute nonsense and items I have no interest in. As someone with only a limited amount of vision, I use screen reading software on my PC, every single day without fale , when I go to my inbox, there they are living social living social living social living social, living social Edinburgh living social Edinburgh, oh did I mention living social, I have attempted to unsubscribe, but how can I unsubscribe from a stupid email client that I didn’t even sign up for. Come on Trust Pilot, get my point over to these people I do not wish to receive emails from living social, living social living social living social Edinburgh living social Edinburgh, and no I do not want any of their stupid for sale items either. Yours very furious Mr Jay Jackson.
We bought tickets via livingsocial to take my mother out for a cruise and cream tea in Stratford upon Avon. We phoned bancroft cruisers several weeks in advance of voucher expiry to book and got no answer so left voicemails. We heard nothing back. Voucher dates finally expired so called living social who said we should have called to complain earlier! Totally un helpful and very disapppointing. Won't use either Bancroft or Living social again.
Just like many others have said about this company. Ordered goods worth over £70 on 3rd Dec, supposedly in time for Christmas. Have received nothing. Wait times on the phone are totally unreasonable IF you actually manage to get through without the phone going dead. No email address to contact. Slight response via Facebook messenger but no action taken or help. Recommend you do not deal with this company. Only wish I'd read the reviews before making the purchase. Has anyone been successful in getting a refund for goods not delivered? If so please tell me how??
We are a small business who unfortunately engaged in a promotion with Living Social. 3 months on and they still owe us money. The UK side simply haven't a clue about customer service, either that or the US are dictating a dreadful 'lets not pay and they will go away' policy. WE WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN and furthermore spread the word that LIVING SOCIAL are BAD NEWS!
....and it was! Whisky tasting set advertised as 5 minature bottles, but received 5 test-tubes of what may be whisky. Living Social took no responsibility for their exaggerated advertising. This is gross misrepresentation. Have been let down by 'deals' before, so I should have learned my lesson. I wont be buying from them ever again.
You can't contact them! Both Groupon and Living Social are totally impossible to contact! Extremely frustrating. If you can't help or communicate with your customers, I suggest you just close down your business. It's just outrageous. No phone, no chat, so I emailed them. It took 24 hours to get an email, not answering my question at all, instead sending me back to their same site they were unreachable at to begin with!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!
Save yourself the displeasure in dealing with this bunch! As attractive as their offers look, that's as far as the pleasantness goes! Their customer service have a standard line, stating that they cannot tell you anything until 7 days after you have raised a query or complaint. They use suppliers that no one (not even themselves) can contact by telephone. An example; Love Bebe Shop!!! My advise; unsubscribe from Living Social. Never use them. ps: the only reason I even added one star is that you have to select a star rating!
Beware of livingsocial.. got totally ripped off by these guys, I practically handed over my hard earned cash for a promised discount voucher. DID not get this discount, which I had to pay full price again. They told me since I purchased with dealbucks they cannot refund my money.. which is utter bullshit as I have PROOF that I paid by credit card. Then they APOLOGIZED for that mistake, but still say it's company policy to refund in "deal bucks" - note this IS AFTER they admitted that refund is possible given certain circumstances. Which MY circumstances is within THEIR conditions of refund!!!
Stay away from this website. The refund policy is outdated and only benefits Living Social. I purchased a Sam's Club membership and was not able to redeem it, because I accidentally hit redeem as the process written for using vouchers is unclear. I'm sure this is purposeful, so the company can keep money. Please don't use this company for deals. I'm sure they make the bulk of their money by ripping people off. You're better off paying full price for the deals advertised. Customer support is poor as well. Again, stay away.
WOULD RATE AS ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!No refund offered for inferior products that are never as described. Also, expensive delivery charges and items take ages to arrive.Incessant bombardment of unwanted emails that you just can't unsubscribe from and zero customer service. It is impossible to get through to anyone via email, etc. How they get away with it in this day and age I will never know!US and UK branches both equally incompetent, unsympathetic and unhelpful. A terrible experience, will never purchase anything from this company again and I strongly advise that you don't either!
The sheet set I ordered was advertised as being made from Bamboo. When it came, it turned out to be 60% Polyester, something i absolutely didn't want. I demanded a postage-free return, but was told their policy is "no refunds." Their agent is still trying to get them to respond, but it's been a week and no results so far. UPDATE: it's now 5/27 and they did finally send me a return label after several strong demands. But I'll be removing myself from their list.
Bought a voucher for a house powerwash in March 2020, appointment set for May 5th. Did not show after stating he would when called to confirm the day before arrival. Rescheduled 3 more times, failed to show also failed to answer calls and text messages on numerous occasions. When he did text message, stated he would arrive on May 18th. This was a overcast day which called for rain, a no show by him without a phone call to even reschedule. Asked for a refund from LivingSocial. getting a run around from them.
Terrible customer service. Merchants should have a grace period. Emergencies arise where the coupon event cannot be redeemed. Groupon is very understanding about it and will give FULL refunds. And that is why I will continue my business with Groupon and NOT LivingSocial. I purchase at LEAST one/two coupons per week. Because they were not accommodating with my situation, a single $100 voucher cost them literally thousand of dollars of my future business. Good riddance!!
Merchant offered only flimsy excuse by voicemail as to why it couldn't perform.Complaining to Living Social got me awarded "deal bucks" equal to the amount of my purchase. When I complained that there was nothing available on Living Social I wished to purchase, the "deal bucks" vanished from my account. No attempt was made to satisfy me.
I would NEVER purchase ANYTHING from this company!! They sold gift certificates KNOWING there were countless complaints against this so called company. I did not get to go on my wine tasting limo excursion but since the guy cancelled just hours before I was stuck with a large hotel bill! The event we planned for months was ruined, & to add insult to injury Living Social did NOTHING about it. The first person I contacted told me I had 4 business days to decide on another deal...but when I tried ordering it I was unable to. They then told me the original purchaser (who did NOT check this particular e mail account) could only get credit, not me. So almost $200 down the drain. Disgusted
You get their canned responses to any issues/complaints that you send to them. Living Social does not do due diligence on the merchants they partner with and therefore do not care about their own reputation if the merchants fails to satisfy the consumer with the voucher. TOTAL SCAMMERS, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, UNETHICAL AND SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS. DO NOT USE THEM EVER!!!!!
ordered a ralph lauren jumper has a stocking filler present for my boyfriend the order was placed on 7th dec the company claimed it gaurenteed to be delivered by xmas what a absolute joke! jumper arrived 12th jan! the jumper is extremely thin and judging the quality im very dubious about its actualy ralph lauren id never purchase again from this company. also i tried chase up my order via phone and email never got to speak to anybody!
Ordered some beats earbuds and a necklace for my daughter for Christmas at the beginning or December and they still haven't arrived. No dispatch e-mail or correspondence from the company at all. Have tried to contact them but I can never get through. I'm guessing from reading these reviews that I may not even receive these items at all. Terrible way to treat customers especially as these were a child's Christmas presents. Shame on you Livingsocial! Avoid buying anything from this sham set-up.
I ordered three different products, received three separate tracking numbers for the shipment, and got ZERO packages. All three tracking numbers returned info that the package was left on my front steps. I'm working from home due to COVID-19, so I'm here all day. There were ZERO packages delivered. One package was supposed to be delivered by Fed Ex, one by Fed Ex SmartPost, and one by DHL. I did not receive any of them; yet, I get amazon packages with no issues. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM LIVING SOCIAL!
Whatever the lowest rating, go one lower, that would be my choice. Living Social cannot be trusted to ensure customer satisfaction. Customer Service is a misnomer - should be called Customer Abandonment. I have bought through Groupon, Restaurant.com, eBay and others... excellent experience with those. Living Social -pure hell. Back and forth - the vendor says go to LS to get resolved; LS says to deal with the vendor. I cancelled an item before shipment. No response from vendor. The item was sent anyway. I demanded my money back - no such luck, they just ignore you. Worst experience with any company online. AWFUL.
- Score: 1.4 stars
“Very poor customer service”
I bought a voucher for helicopter flight, and flight was cancelled few times by merchant, but it did extend my vouchers expiry date. But when I try to book flight again, merchant no more accepts this voucher from this company. As many times I did write to living social about this problem, got no reply. No refund no nothing. Dont buy from this company, as you can be fooled, and only will loose your money.
“$#*!ing scammers”
I'd give a zero star of I could. I bought a voucher for a 1 night stay in an hotel. The voucher it's impossible to redeem and I have been trying with two different phones one computer desktop and every possible browser on it. It simply doesn't work. The hotel won't accept my booking even if showed them the confirmation because they said they can't access the money if the voucher isn't activated. I tried to use living social refund page, but "strangely is unavailable at the moment". Stay away from this scammers.
“Avoid like the plague”
Terrible customer service. I spent €80 plus and haven't received any of the goods. Livingsocial tell you to contact the merchants directly and I'm sure they know it's impossible for customers to get through to any of those companies. No comeback with livingsocial once you spend the money they don't care what happens after that. Wipe your arse with your money at least you'd know where it went Tip for consumers:Yes shop on Amazon instead Products used:None they never arrived after I purchased them. Service
“Appalling customer service and quality”
I recently bought 3 items from Living Social, which it turns out are part of Wowcher. All are disappointing including one item which is shown as floor length on photos of adults but is only knee length, and bleeds fluff, but despite emailing them and filling in their customer satisfaction survey (giving very low scores and explaining why) no one has replied to my email or contacted me. I now see the terms and conditions are that I can get a refund and buy other Living Social items with it - but I have no confidence in their quality or customer service. Tip for consumers:Don’t waste your time and money Products used:Ordered but didn’t use any as not fit for purpose: poncho, gloves, slippers Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“I ordered a beats by dr dre studio headphones from...”
I ordered a beats by dr dre studio headphones from living social on Black Friday for $199. They sent me a beats by dr dre Monster headphones instead. I opened the box and to my surprise it turned out to be a fake one. It is very easy to find out if it is a fake or real. Just open YouTube and search for unpacking of beats by dre monster headphones video. There are no logos of monster present on the headphones or plugs which connect headphones to phone and all the accessories. I don't know how how long they have been in business, but man they are trying to fool people around. On top of it when I called customer care and informed them the same, they don't trust and say they can't help me. They were very rude and say they are not at fault. I would like everyone who got this item through living social, please check for authenticity and also please never purchase any big ticket items from living social in future because of their authenticity and bad customer service who never cares. Tip for consumers:Shipping fake products and worst worst response from customer service people Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“So Much Better than Groupon”
I have found so many awesome deals on Living Social. And they give you extra discount promo codes to use so you save even more. And unlike Groupon, I've never had any customer service issue or received the wrong product. Their sellers are reputable companies in my experience.
“Appalling customer service.”
Purchased goods which apparently were lost in transit. For 4 weeks now there is no 'live chat' customer advisors available on website! I wanted a refund but was fobbed off at every level whenever I managed to contact them Followed Living Social's guidelines by contacting company direct. Then received items that I had not ordered. To make matters worse from a company I did not purchase vouchers for. This company sell the same product via Amazon. Therefore, the original price must have been 'hiked up' for promotional purposes. Emailed Living Social umpteen times and opened a case against them on Revolver website. Living Social do not vet their merchants nor do they accept responsibility for redeeming of the voucher but they do accept your money. Long, arduous task to get a refund.
“Nightmare for customer service”
Nightmare for customer service. I had requested a refund which had been agreed but nothing received (since October)! Trying to contact them is a waste of time as you are hanging on the telephone and no easy way of contacting them online (they make it very difficult). Will not be buying from them again. Tip for consumers:If you request a refund bear in mind that you will have to obtain postage and packaging back separately from the seller! (in the small print) Service Returns
“Avoid, scammers”
Ordered some plants. Paid £16.97 via PayPal. Never arrived. A week later I got an email stating 'your account has been credited £7.99'. At no point did they tell me my order had been cancelled their end. And I'm left wondering what's going on and where is the rest of my money? Phone number isn't manned (just a recorded message about coronavirus- over 2 years on?…that old chestnut? Give me a break- other companies have been answering phones for well over a year), emails bounce back and contact via WhatsApp seems to be a long winded negotiation on how much of MY money I can get refunded and how long it will take. I will NEVER use these scammers again. No plants and still no refund of any of my money. Opening a dispute via PayPal. Buyer beware. Tip for consumers:Avoid, they take your money, don’t deliver and then don’t answer the phone or emails when you ask for a refund. Products used:2 Japanese maple trees, never delivered, not refunded Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Do not ever buy off this site unless you want to give...”
Do not ever buy off this site unless you want to give away your money. Bought world sim cards. When entered the voucher numbers they said that it had been used. No help when I rang up. So I guess thats my money down the drain. Deleting their app!
“Terrible company”
I received 140e waller credit and am.unable to use it. Despite doing everything correctly I am 9 days in touch with their customer services team over email and WhatsApp. I've sent so many explanations and screenshots and every 24 /48 hours I get a new person sending me a generic list of steps on how to pay for a deal. Effectively I'm unable to use the credit which was a reimbursement of money I had spent but not used on a voucher so it's my own money. A manager called Nigel Drake is in touch on email and even getting the same drivel from him. They're no doubt a complete farce of a company and I'm beyond shocked at how they treat customers. I've been using Living Social for years. I'll never spend another cent with them Tip for consumers:Please avoid them Products used:None Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Just terrible customer service”
Just terrible customer service. They will repeatedly cut and paste generic responses to any emails. Good luck ever getting in touch on the phone. They will not accept returns, no matter what the reason. Product arrived damaged or didn't arrive at all? Tough luck, you paid for it.
“Absolute RUBBISH!”
Absolute RUBBISH! Bought a deal, had a problem with it. Have emailed and called. No reply whatsoever... complete rip off! $60 down the drain. There customer service is ZERO! Stay away from this company!
“The BEST”
Without a doubt - the best customer service for any on line or major site! And they all sound state-side too! Wonderful service, knowledgeable, able to resolve issue first time with NO hassle. An absolute pleasure to do business with - highly recommended! Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“I purchased something that never arrived”
I purchased something that never arrived. I've been asking for a refund for 3 weeks now. Staff are really rude and keep launching investigations that take 7 days - then they start another one. I'm not sure how they're allowed to operate this scam legally.
“I bought the $10 for $20 amazon card, and then my credit...”
I bought the $10 for $20 amazon card, and then my credit card company sent me new cards 2 days later saying that my data was compromised. I didn't get hit with fraudulent charges, but a lot of other people did. LivingSocial needs to cop up to their bad website security.
“Living Social promotion of if your friend buys 3 tickets...”
Living Social promotion of if your friend buys 3 tickets are yours is free is a LIE. It does not work even you used the provided link. When we called in they say there is nothing they can do and I don't believe that!
“Wonky locations, just the same stuff over and over”
My biggest issue is with the location parameters. In my area (which is by no means rural), I can only choose from maybe 3 or 4 general locations (one being a city about 30 minutes away that I don't want to look in). Second, a lot of the activities are more of the same and nothing really jumps at me. I don't really care about restaurant discounts nor painting classes. However, there is some good stuff like things for kids and services that could come in handy so it's not totally useless. My boyfriend and I have a coupon for $25 off and we may never use it. The one thing that looked interesting we didn't do because the actual online reviews for the event were total crap (and mentioned LivingSocial by name).
“I just got a call from Visa Fraud Dept on the same...”
I just got a call from Visa Fraud Dept on the same card (it's not used for every day transactions either), saying that and online purchase was attempted this morning at Bed, Bath & Beyond & there's an approved pending amount of $1 on my account. Of course I will not know the full amount that charges until it hits my actual bank, then I can dispute it, and they will refund it, but still this is a hassle. I'm more than anything believing this is linked to when I bought the Amazon gift card from Living Social. I didn't have a good feeling about it, as I'd never heard of that company, but still did it. Now... the hassle. Ugh! Just letting you know... watch your bank statements in case the Fraud folks at your bank don't see it.
“Restaurant owher”
Don't ever get involved with living social which is now owned by Groupon. Complete rip off cost my restaurant 2,500 in 3 months. They lied about everything and I'm glad there done. Had 4000 employees and then 5 years later had 200 sold to Groupon. So please if you own a restaurant stay far away from these morons. If you want more customers just offer 10% off there bill and you will be way better off. Jim
“Disgusting, untrustworthy, Thieves”
Ordered a watch as part of my daughters christmas. Never arrived, cant be contacted, passing the buck from Living Social to Wowcher & vice versa. £100 lost. Well i'm not giving up on the money. Fraud investigation with my banks help. Will get the money 1 way or another & hopefully cause someone somewhere a bad day. Absolute rip off merchants. AVOID AVOID AVOID
“I bought 2 comforter sets, 800 thread count from "King...”
I bought 2 comforter sets, 800 thread count from "King David Linens" via Living Social. One comforter was poorly sewn together and has been coming apart at the seams. Every week or so my son brings it to me to hand stitch another section back together. I called Living Social and they say no returns after 14 days! I asked if the manufacturer would stand behind their product... he said maybe. I've been calling King David's and no one will answer the phone nor return my phone call. I would not recommend buying merchandise from Liv Soc.
“I bought two different coupons on different dates for...”
I bought two different coupons on different dates for services (house cleaning and a facial). Neither of those businesses picked up their phones or called me back after I left messages attempting to schedule an appointment. LivingSocial never responded to two of my customer service requests -- this is outright fraud.
“Customer Service is Awful!”
Item was ordered in wrong color. There's no way to switch order online or email Living Social. Only option is to call. After 3 days of trying and waiting 3+ hours on the phone, I was told I would have to wait til the item ships and then return it. How does that make sense if the item hasn't shipped yet I have no idea but item will be returned and we will close our account. Never had problems like this with Groupon so they will now receive all of my business.
“Livingsocial does not even deserve one star!”
Livingsocial does not even deserve one star! This company is a scam. The vendors they deal with do not honor the vouchers that consumers purchased! The vendors run the customers around with "no appointment time", "come back later", "call back later", or no replies... full B.Sh@t! Livingsocial is not of help at all when their vendors cheated. Instead, Livingsocial must be a part of that cheat scam too because now it turned off its phone line, and all complaints by emails got replied by a fake "Justin" customer service rep! FTC needs to take some action to stop this Livingsocial from cheating more vulnerable customers out there who could not afford high cost but ended up being cheated out their hard earned money too! This Livingsocial.com company deserves to go bankrupt!

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies this service works and is trustworthy. It costs only $6.49/month but is worth the cost. U.S., UK, EU, Swiss, and Canadian residents only. Click below.

Are You the Owner of livingsocial.com?
If you own livingsocial.com, we would love to hear from you. However, if you would like to challenge this review and trust score, we are more than willing to take a deeper look, but be prepared to offer solid proof of your business. Please introduce yourself first (your name, not "Admin"). Consumers are smart. Typically, they don't trust websites that don't show transparency, such as the location of the business, team, or any other physical existence. When domain owners contact us to challenge the trust score of their website on our website Validator, we would kindly ask them to share some of the following things: * Details from their ecosystem that would show that they are 100% trustworthy (certificate of incorporation, business registration, official records showing the name of the website or business, etc.). * Their personal profile on LinkedIn and social media accounts for the business on Facebook. * If possible, some screenshots/proof of satisfied clients (not testimonials on their website), proof of inventory, canceling orders when requested, etc.). We are more than willing to update the review right away—the more proof you show, the higher the trust score will be.
