Is knowroaming.com Legit?

I bought eSIM for Bahamas, work fine, but after 2 days it stops working. I used their ticketing system to ask for a solution. The reaction was prompt and it turns out that local telco had some issues. They advise me how to fix my phone on another operator and everything is fine now. Very professional service (Amy).

I'm leaving one star, simply because there is no option for zero stars.I traveled to Switzerland and needed data immediately after entering the country. That's why I bought KnowRoaming so-called "Europe" eSIMM package. Well, it turned out that in KnowRoaming's geography Switzerland is not in Europe and the "Europe" plan doesn't work there. Contacting the help desk was useless, they just told me I should have read the small print before ordering.AVOID THESE SCAMMERS

I have used their data packages in Europe, The Caribbean and USA. Once you get the right KR code for the provider and country it works great. The reason for a three star rather than higher is two fold. First they no longer allow unlimited data packages and the voice calling seldom works no matter how much you fiddle with the settings as advised by their help line. Texting is hit and miss.

I would have given them 5 stars for the LTE speeds on my eSim in Spain.The fact they don’t have an app to check usage or top up is an unacceptable design flaw. You have to contact them to obtain usage/ balance. They say they’re working on it , but it should have been designed 1st before selling eSims.

I bought a Global SIM card together with an unlimited data package, to be used while traveling to India for work. Since I did not need calls or text, I did not purchase any local number, but kept the US number given by default when purchasing.It was fairly easy to set up in my dual-SIM phone, and I had internet access both in Qatar and in India. Sporadically the internet would not work while in India (altho it had 4G network signal) but I suspect my speed had been downgraded due to high usage after uploading images to social media. The downtime/slow speed was insignificant compared to the great value of being able to keep my data on at all times. I kept my data on 24 hours a day for 5 days, and even did a little bit of data sharing (mobile wifi) with a very greatful colleague.HOWEVER - be aware of the "fair use policy". Unlimited does not mean unlimited! If you exceed 250 MB per day, your speed might be reduced. If you have an excessive data consumption, the signal might be revoked completely, as the operators in the country you visit might flag your presence and usage.I only used 1 GB of data during my entire trip. Mostly emails, direct messaging, surfing the web, and social media, but I know my colleague used some data for internet voice call, and that worked great too. If you're reasonable with the usage, KnowRoaming offers a great service.I am also pleased that you can keep the SIM inactive for up to 1 year before having to log-in to maintain the account and SIM, meaning it has great re-use possibilities even if you don't travel often.

Didn't work on the two occasions I bought a global esim of theirs for my S21. The one time it worked neither in Germany, nor Turkey nor Georgia. Their support is responsive (hence two stars), and they confirmed from my Screenshots that all settings were correct. But you will have wasted easily an hour on to-ing and fro-ing, by the time you finally give up, and remain offline.The other time it worked so. what, but only after lots of work and arriving in the second country, and having had a 60€ fine slapped on me for roaming charges in Turkey.

KnowRoaming looked to be a great service, offered everything I needed to enable affordable mobile phone global travel, with data good packages and I still get to keep my home number - but it fell short, way short.I used the SIM sticker - application of the sticker to my home SIM and set up instructions and the KnowRoaming app - all fine. Very nice setup. Good info and tutorials/videos.But once setup it only partially worked when running off the KnowRoaming SIM:1) The phone could not make or receive normal phone calls - simply did not work - and never has.2) The Mobile Data worked fine - no issues - this side of it was OK.To be fair - the KnowRoaming support team were very responsive (especially initially) and I provided them heaps of feedback, screenshots etc... I tried really hard to support them to support me. But after nearly a month of back and forth they had made very little progress. I could not reliably receive a phone call or ever make a phone call. So I wasted my money on the ReachMe 3 mth package. In the end I said its not good enough and they said sorry, but seemed to have exhausted their technical expertise, and offered nothing further. So I went to Europe, just with a data package, which worked fine, and just used WhatApp and Skype Number/Credit to manage my "phone calls", but I was still disconnected from my home number which is vital in my job during my travels. It really surprises me that so many mainstream media have backed this service with such high ratings - nothing but a fail in my books (despite best efforts). Looks good, but as a service/product it fell short to deliver.PS: And another item that was very disappointing - it wont let you hotspot your phone, personal hotspot is disabled when the KnowRoaming SIM is activated.

Based on good reviews I bought KR Global SIMs for myself and my wife for a recent trip to Norway. Our daughter and son-in law, who accompanied us on the trip, also got KR global SIMs on my recommendation. My sister in-law did the same for her own separate trip to Norway. The executive summary is that while data and SMS worked for everyone, voice calling didn’t work for anyone, despite continuous efforts from tech support.When I first got the SIMs I installed them in both my phone and my wife’s to try them out while still in the U.S. Everything functioned seamlessly, exactly as expected. Text, data, and voice in and out worked exactly as advertised. I put our regular SIMs back in, confident that our phones would work fine in Norway.My sister-in-law took her trip to Norway first. She could not make voice calls, despite repeated exchanges with tech support by e-mail. Finally in desperation after 10 days of frustration, she put her ATT SIM back in, and and signed up for their $10/day deal to get her entire ATT voice/data package while traveling. It worked flawlessly. Her report was discouraging, but I hoped it was due to some kind of pilot error on her part (she is admittedly not very tech savvy), or the fact that she was using an iPhone (our phones are four different Android models).When our party got to Norway voice calling didn’t work on any of our phones. My son in-law didn’t really care because he has Google Voice service, so all of his calls go through the internet. But the rest of us were stuck. Calls out all failed, with a message saying the number was not in service (sometimes in Norwegian, sometimes in English). Most importantly we couldn’t call each other using our KR US numbers. We limped by with texts. I exchanged 17-mails with tech support (which was very responsive) trying to make voice work. We changed every conceivable setting numerous times: Callback on or off, 3G instead of LTE, different networks, different profiles, etc. Occasionally we could call a recorded weather number in the US, but ironically never our own KR US numbers, so we couldn’t call each other. We finally got voice working on my and my wife’s phones after 3 days, and I heaved a sigh of relief. We were in Flam at the time. The next day we went on to Bergen, and everything went in the dumper again. Throughout the remaining 11 days of the trip, voice calling never worked. I lost count of the emails I exchanged with tech support. Three days before our flight home, tech support gave up and “escalated” our problem to the network people at KR. I thought “better late than never!” They said they would send me an e-mail when the problem was sorted out. I never heard from them again. That was 26 days ago. I’m sure they’re still working diligently on the problem …

We have used KnowRoaming SIM Stickers for years in multiple countries with mostly quite good results. However, when we arrived in Rome a few weeks ago, I could not get either of our phones to place calls successfully. They could receive but not dial out. KR support suggested a whole host of things to try, including dropping down to 3G (my iPhone 13 does not support that, and my past experience with 3G on older phones with KR was terrible). I finally gave up, went to a TIM Store and got “TIM Tourist” cards, good for 30 days with 200 minutes and a whopping 50GB for €14.95 + €10 registration fee (you have to register with your passport in Italy). The salesperson installed the cards and tested them, and they have worked flawlessly. KnowRoaming no longer offers the sticker, just a data-only eSIM. It may be that support for the sticker has gone by the wayside.

The call-back phone system overseas works sporadically. The 3G LTE was patchy and the data speeds were dreadfully slow. Now I'm back in NZ and my home SIM is not working properly. I'm waiting for a response from KnowRoaming....Knowroaming did respond and I have now got my Home SIM working properly.However still can't recommend this option as a roaming package using Home SIM would have been cheaper and much faster,

Here is a recap of the main issue.The refund was denied by them at a later date: There are many instances where people need to continue to conduct home or business needs while abroad and I fail to understand how your policy of denying short code sms or any other manner of authenticating is helpful. It appears knowroaming is not keeping up with these times of identity theft, fraud, etc. Ruth, please escalate my problem to the president of knowroaming. I should not have to request that this be investigated so many times and you are not doing anything positive to satisfy this previously satisfied customer. Alternatively, I request a refund of the balance of my account of $33.55 as of Feb. 2/2023 and I will go obtain a Mexican Sim card.Mar. 21/23 After the above was submitted, they gave me a "one-time" exception refund, "as a courtesy".

12 days after purchase they shipped my sim card. I bought in advance because Im traveling and need to use it. Now my trip is approaching I wont receive the sim card before it. Will end up with no internet or paying 6£ per MB on my current provider. Not reliable at all. Not considerable with customers.

Spent the money and got all the assurances in the world before heading to South AmericaBut a complete waste of time and money and they are not remotely interested in discussing the problem or a refund on my return. Worked one, briefly in a capital city.I can’t speak for other regions - and I’ll never know, because I’ll never use them again.

Got two sims for a trip to japan had a lot of trouble getting one work the second never worked known roaming did help a bit a we got card one working it ate the data at a huge rate contacted known roaming about the non working sim and the Rate the data went no reply tried again no reply tried again no reply. Got a local sim from bic camer cheaper helped me set them up never ran out of data in two weeks

I have a Travel SIM sticker and have a balance of over USD$65 on my account (since they require you to add at least USD$25 every 9 months or else you lose the balance in your account). I want to change to an eSIM, but KnowRoaming claims they can’t transfer my balance to their eSIM service, only to another of their Travel SIM stickers. It does not make any sense why you can transfer your balances from one KnowRoaming account to another one. They just make it impossible to use their service and put every hurdle possible in place to make it extremely inconvenient for customers. I do not recommend their services.

This is all a lie. The service doesn’t work at all and the customer service will lead you into endless exchange of emails leading you to do the same thing again and again ignoring the service simply doesn’t work at all. I’m now trying to get my money back while being without internet access has already been enough burdensome. Do not wast your money with this.

I BEG you not to enrol with this company! They simply cannot deliver what they promise.. What you don't get: treated as an honest customer, ability to text message, ability to make or receive calls, accurate accounting of data usage, and I can go on. My name is Paul, and I don't ever write reviews, but, feel obligated in this case in the hopes that at least one person doesn't fall for this sham of a company as I did. Again, do not believe them, they cannot deliver on what they say they can, and when challenged, they will call you a liar and offer you no solution. Paul. Also, if you ever speak to someone in tech support named Jefferson, go ahead and cancel your account immediately, no help is coming.

Do yourself a favour and get local sim card. There survice is completely unreliable and too expensive for what you get. Data speeds are slow from the get go and at times unusable. Our party also has a skyroam solis and it works great. So no one can tell me it's my location.

I dont recommend this company at all. Their product is not great at all plus the international rates are way to expensive, I rather to stick to my magicjack, get a pocket wifi so I can make and receive calls and get emails if it need be during the trip. Bad service so many problems with the international sticker and the rates are way to expensive, NO worth it at all.I had some issues like the previous reviews under. Dont waste your money with this company, too bad I did not see the reviews on google play, I thought that I did, my mistake for not checking enough before wasting money.
