kcom.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives kcom.com a medium trust score on the platform: 61.3. It signals that the business can best be defined by the following tags: Small Risk. Standard. Active.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this lower score? We came up with the 61.3 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to kcom.com's industry. The algorithm detected potential activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Small Risk. Standard. Active. tags above. Long story short, please use caution when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning kcom.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between kcom.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of kcom.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of kcom.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. kcom.com is a somewhat safer website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether kcom.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether kcom.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, kcom.com.

Rubbish company I suspect they know they are going bust so don't really care any more. I left and joined connexin £25 month 1000mb but kcom still Bill me even tho I left.
Our home phone line isn't working and they cant access it without speaking to the account holder? WHY. I am not asking for any personal details, we pay for a line that isn't working, just being awkward . This isn't the first time this line has been broken but we still get charged for it
Outstanding! KCOM upgraded some time ago, and again more recently. My latest speed test shows 750Mbps Download speed, and 165Mbps Upload, I think this is the best in the entire country and it is insanely fast.Secondly, the reliability is second to none, I can count on one hand, how many times there have been outages in the last four years. This is a real achievement and shows how consistent a company can be, from older wiring in years gone by, to the latest fiber cables and a superb user experience.KCOM is a jewel in the crown for the city of Hull, and those who made it happen should be proud of themselves.Huge thumbs up. 👍
Engineer came around to install the box, said the wire was too short but managed to splice a bit of wire on to connect it. Box gets knocked off the wall and the wire pulls apart because it’s too short. Another engineer comes around and makes the wire longer so if it falls off the wall again it won’t disconnect the wire…now we are being charged £120 because they did the wire short in the first place. Terrible company.
If I could give zero stars, I would. This company somehow created two accounts under my name and address, but only shared the details of one account with me. I only discovered the second account when I was billed twice. To my shock, they had also set up a direct debit for the second account—an account I had no knowledge or control over!Despite numerous promises that the second account would be dissolved and I wouldn’t be charged again, I was still billed twice. I’m still fighting to get a refund. Absolutely unacceptable!
Many many issues during start up with technicians not turning up threats of extra payment if not at property when they dont arrive anyway. Massive waiting times on cystomer service frequent blackouts and less than helpful troubleshooting. Today another blackout looking at moving to satellite internet.
Beyond terrible . Been told by Kcom they have no tech support so now I have no wifi at home , 2 days ago working fine . Rang the tech support and spoke to someone who had no idea and said it was properly my microwave as anything can stop Kcom working. Simply shocking , roll on the installation of the posts so I can get another provider . Kcom are an embarrassment to Hull . No internet and no wifi and no way of getting the internet , Kcom are dinosaurs.
Total garbage. Only internet providers in hull and east yorks ( no idea why). The fibre optic box wasn't fitted securely (no choice to go copper so they have you by the short and curleys).box fell off wall 🙄 waited 5 days for an engineer then charged 120 pounds for something no fault of my own. Customer service agents appalling - was told waoting for an engineer is like waiting to see a gp! Funny that lol so I pay 60 quid privately to kcom for no privately paid for service Has it become government owned? If so why am I paying in addition to my taxes. Garbage is putting it mildly. Of com complaint underway
Non existent customer service, lying about their prices and taking money that I didn't agree to.Bitterly regretting renewing my contract with them.Been overcharged and to talk to someone on the phone is an hour wait, sometimes longer. They say to put an online query in and I have heard nothing in overca week. Now there's other companies coming in you'd be better trying them.I will not be staying with this company as soon as I am out of contract. They used to be great and have good service now it's shocking overpriced rubbish
Hull kcom hu3 5bj internet keeps disconecting each 10 minutes the speed what i have 900 mb i am paying big money for that and i am still not geting the max speed its going only to 600 mb the internet keeps disconecting not every day in some weeks its just inposibale to watch somwthing on tv or i am not speaking about playing games, imposible… To call to KCOM and to speak whit themAbout that problem there is waiting time 30 minutes each time you call and when you waiting for this time they droping the phone absolitly schookingTo reach them i rate 1/10Internet speed. 4/10Internet interuption 2/10Internet cost for this service 1/10Waiting for better provaider in this area, 100% will cancel it when it ends.
been with KCOM for years. had issues in the past.an engineer came to change landline from copper to fast fibre. That went ok, when I tried phone the 1571 and the 1471 did not work. Rang KCOM and was told that because of switchover 1571 and 1471 not available, but would be soon. am not at all happy as I need my message minder and my 1471. have put in a complaint via the person I spoke to on the phone but know from past experience that this will not happen or if it does will be waiting a long time. the online complaints forms are ridiculous the way they are worded, hence the verbal complaint as above. When I ask to speak to someone in charge no one is ever available. I believe there is no overall person in control in what is happening. When you get through the staff are polite but they are only a good as how they are trained. I would not have agreed to the change over if I knew I was going to lose these vital services.
Impossible to contact on phone. When you request call back option 1 they jsut tranfer you to another Q. People dont call back or know why certain emails have been sent. Have to be up there on the worst customer experience you could ever imagine.
Terrible. Customer services near to impossible to get through. Cancelled subscription in Feb, still billing me up to April despite me joining a new service provider - unable to get through on phone lines. I think KCOM will soon very go out of business.
Upgraded to Full fibre on 4th December. It was off for a month, came back on for 3 weeks and was off for another 3 weeks. Had an engineer booked in on two occasions, both occasions nobody turned up. Rang to ask where they were each time and both times was told the appointment was cancelled however nobody let me know. Lost 2 days of my annual leave at work for these appointments and so much extra data bought and used for hotspotting. Horrendous.
Con artists charged me £430 in cancellation fees when I had to leave the area due to a sudden career change. Even though they are the ones who could no longer provide me with a service in my new location. Not to mention the shocking customer service wait times and awful connection quality I experienced. I would rather spend the rest of my life on fire than deal with this company again.
minus one star if it was possible waiting for complaints to be answered.web sight says three days to respond back.i have been waiting 11 days no wonder they get a score of 96 percent of one or two stars. they are robbers and liars.
I’ve just had my install and the engineers deserve a 5** recommendation an absolute pleasure great attitude and very helpful. As for the management side of the operation 1* reasons why, After being told that the installation date was 15/12/23 no body turned up,(after waiting in all day) i had no communication from KCOM to explain why all they did was rebook me for the 19/12/23 Not very good service from the admin side
Karoo just in the process of increasing their prices by £2 per month for Broadband. If you are out of contract costs you another £3 a month, so £5 monthly increase unless you tie in for another 24 months. It is impossible to talk to them on the phone, they just promise to call you back but never do and they have now ceased the live chat option as well.Karoo are getting worried, and quite rightly, about the competition from Connexin who have thankfully broken their monopoly in the City of Hull.Connexin will be offering faster cheaper broadband so will be switching to them very shortly.
We have been a customer for only 2 months if that. We had to call out engineers that took a week before they came out!! Now we have no Internet connection and now been told we have to wait up to 5 days for a replacement router.. after just 2 months!!! Absolutely depressing. I have been with an Internet provider that's so horrendous... NO MORE I WILL PAY TO GET OUT AND GO WITH BT!!! WHAT A DISGRACE OF A COMPANY ...
Awful provider, would not recommend. Poor internet speeds, WI-FI is awful. I have been lied to by staff and the communication within KCOM is very poor. They really do not know how to deal with enquiries or issues customers experience.

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

  1. They have an award-winning VPN service, protecting your privacy and preventing third parties from tracking your device.
