joann.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives joann.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 89.3. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 89.3 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to joann.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning joann.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between joann.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of joann.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of joann.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. joann.com is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether joann.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether joann.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, joann.com.

They canceled mostly everything from my order but, still show in stock online. And only told me that it takes two weeks for their inventory to update but, said I can place another order like really ?. I don’t like blind sided ordering . I wouldn’t order from them again .
Purchased a singer sewing machine. It was malfunctioning out of the box. Tried to return it but they neglected to tell me electronics cannot be returned. Singer website says purchases made in store must be returned to that store. So I have a $350 sewing machine that can't be returned.
I ordered 2 items online and only one has been shipped. The other has been sitting in process for days. I called about the other item and customer service said I would get a notice if it does ship but I wouldn't receive it most likely until September 17th and I ordered it on September 2nd. That's unacceptable. Both items should have been shipped together. It's no wonder why you are going bankrupt. You don't care about the customer.
Iam supper sad. I ordered cute yarn to knit my granddaughters a matching sweather. TRACK17 said it is delivered but no package anywhere to been found. It took 4 weeks to shipped out of CHINA! Please look in to my order.
Bad experience became GREAT experience. The Joann website had some time sensitive Daily Deal Drops that weren't reflecting the sale price when put in the cart. I sent an email, but didn't hear back until the next day, when the other sale had ended. I was informed that there must have been a glitch, and they asked if I could provide screen shots. Luckily, I had taken them, so I sent them. Realizing that there was an issue, they were able to credit my order to reflect the discounted price. AND, since I picked-up in store, I also got an additional 20% off the original order. So, it took a couple of emails, but they were apologetic, and helped resolve my issue quickly. Very pleased!
Twice they sent my orders to my previous address, which is an apartment complex. I have no way of retrieving either I used my current address on both orders when submitted. After contacting customer service was told "we can't change an order after it's submitted??". I'm disgusted! Asked for a refund: denied. I will never purchase anything from Joann again.
I used to like the St Cloud MN store. However, since the manager has been replaced, the store has really gone downhill. Nothing is stocked on the shelves. There are boxes in the isle. I understand it is an old building, but product could at least be put away. Just waiting for the fire marshal to come and close the store
I went to the store in Warrington. They were advertising 50% off items for fall. Got a couple of straw bale 20 inches and I was charged 6.99 for each one instead of the advertised price of 3.99. This store does not care about customers let alone honoring the price advertised at the store.
Worst experience- false advertising. Googled item, on sale at Joann’s, put in cart, FULL price. Called customer service would not back advertised price.
By far the worst experience I have ever had with customer service. Has nothing to do with in person store and everything to do with online services. When I checked out my cart online there was no option for shipping so I assumed it was the next screen. Nope it pulled from a credit card which apparently had an old address I no longer have access to. They ship via FedEx and the option they select to ship is completely unavailable for me to change my shipping address nor opt for a fedex location pick up. The customer service agent at Joann just gave me a broken record of you may return your items on arrival. We cannot change a shipping address due to potential fraud… really? If I can give you the confirmation and info on the card used to ship then I should be able to change an address before the item ever ships. I contacted within minutes of the mistake. I’ll be taking buisness elsewhere after this experience. Do better.
Don’t recommend Ordered from a Facebook ad and items arrived broken due to poor packaging. I drove 30 minutes to a store to return only to find that in spite of my order confirmation/ invoice showing how much I paid, the return was ringing up less. I was told they couldn’t over ride the system and I could either take the reduced refund or leave with my broken items and take it up with customer support 😡😡😡
My cashier happened to be store manager. I have written several great reviews to headquarters regarding Diane (even when she was with Michaels). She is very helpful and always willing to go the extra mile. She has a great attitude and personality. Her store is neat and organized. She is a great employee to the company.
Ordering online is a nightmare. I put an order for some scissors for quilting. During the checkout process, after choosing to pay with PayPal, it automatically sent the order to old address with zero way to review before submitting. Attempting to contact support just got an automatic message saying that it can't be canceled or changed due to fraud, but replying back to the message, a person said can't be changed due to automation and I would have to wait for it to ship before I can get a refund. Ummm...no. Once it clears on PayPal's end, they are getting the emails in a dispute
Site won't let me use verified valid gift card. Overseas customer service clueless as well as local store employees. Now site is not functioning when payment needed. This corporation is a MESS!! Will NEVER let family give me another gift certificate from here! Oh, & corporate # hangs upon after recorded message!! 11-13-23
Joann should have let their customers know via email that there were phishing scam emails luring joann customers to a scamming site
Joann continues to deteriorate to a messy flea market of junk. Pattern drawers not labeled with numbers. Every section a mess of unorganized cheap products. Hard to find anything. Poor or no service. The one in Livonia MI on Middlebelt may be the worst yet, and that’s hard to call since they are all so bad. I’d suspect a going out of business sale soon…
The Odana road store in Madison Wisconsin is a total disgrace! Stuff laying all over boxes everywhere. The public restroom is absolutely awful! Floor is filing, no toilet paper, garbage over flowing plain disgrace, I won’t go back!! Michael get my service!!
I placed an order for some yarn and was charged the full amount of 28.94. Then today, I got an email stating that only part of my order was being shipped and there was another charge for that part of the order. I called the customer service number and was told that the original amount would be reversed in three - five days. They could have taken the amount they were shipping out of the original amount instead of charging me again and making me wait if they are really reversing the charge. I will not be ordering from JoAnn's again.
the executive branch is trashing this firm. this became clear to us today after visiting one of the locations where we have been shopping for decades, we found the place in a complete shambles, looking like a poorly run garbage dump. why? clearly the corporate office has trashed their staff and managers and now the people left working at this location are just the survivors hanging onto a sinking ship. disgraceful. [update: we tried to post this on the Better Business Bureau site and the site was blocking all negative reviews. We then looked up JoAnn's and found that two years ago it went public. Thus the executives are now gutting this business).
My most recent visit was June 3, 2024 at the Tallahassee store. As usual, the floor was filthy throughout the store. I took a picture but it appears this site doesn't utilize them. The lighting is very poor and the employees appear apathetic. On occasion, one is helpful. You would expect their Corporate to take notice of so many negative reviews and make an effort to improve the brand image and reputation. Good business starts at the top. So does bad.

“Fake order shipping info”

We ordered 2 "in-stock" items for pickup from local store. These are Christmas gifts. Later order is cancelled, but Joann offers free shipping for order online. So we order those 2 items online on Dec 10. Website shows that shipping labels are created on Dec. 15 and 17 respectively, but USPS has still not received either of the items by Dec. 18. Joann sends us an email that items are being shipped. But why do I suspect that the items are NOT IN STOCK, and that Joann wants to fool us into thinking that they are shipping the items so that they do not lose the sale to a competitor. Service Shipping

“Management is horrible”

I was in the store a few weeks ago and the "store manager" was as just sitting behind the register as all of her employees were working very hard. She was very nonchalant and sorta rude the way she spoke to customers ahead of me Service Value

“Filthy. Boxes in aisles. No staff to help”

The store is absolutely disgusting. The floors are dirty and streaked with who knows what. But worst of all at least 10 aisles were completely blocked with bins of merchandise. Last time I went I thought it was bad and there were maybe two aisles blocked. I've had bolts of fabric fall on me because the shelves are not stable. Tip for consumers:Other Joann stores are cleaner and have enough employees to keep up with the merchandise. This one is closest to my house, but I can’t come back. The grossness and stuff blocking the aisles stresses me out. Products used:Fabric, thread Service Value Quality

“CIA Drug movement operation”

This is a large movement operation (money, drugs) for the CIA. The entire fabric industry is their PET. You see, look at all the heroin you can put in the cardboard tube of the fabric roll. Got that?

“Ordering online is a nightmare.”

I ordered a pair of quilting scissors online and I selected PayPal as a payment method. It automatically sent the order without me given the opportunity to review the information. It chose an address that I no longer live at. Attempting to contact customer service told me that the order cannot be altered or canceled after submitting and I would have to wait until it ships for a refund Products used:Singer scissors Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Very slow shipping”

I placed an order at Joann.com with 10 items including two pieces of fabric on 11-8-2023. It is still processing. I have called twice. Two excuses were given, both on the flimsy side. Just ridiculous. Products used:Haven’t received any product yet.

“I would give them a zero if it was possible”

I have yet to receive the remainder of the order I placed in November. As many other people have stated, they no longer accept calls, so the only way you can contact them is through email. When I was able to talk with someone is customer service in mid December, the person disregarded my valid points and literally attempted to deny me the right to speak with her superior regarding the issue. I will NEVER order anything from Joann again! They refused to let me cancel my order when I asked to do so because of the huge delay, which is unheard of from a big business like theirs. I cannot see them lasting much longer. Inasmuch as I like the convenience of their brick and mortar stores, this experience with my online order and reading what everyone else's has gone through, has really embittered me towards the company as a whole. Products used:Haven’t received them yet Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Terrible terrible service online orders”

My orders, when using coupons, get cancelled, but when paying full price they seem to go thru. Apparently they didn't pass the verification process? Called that department, left several messages, no one ever gets back to me. This has happened several times over the past few months, I even called my order in…same issue, and customer service states they cannot help, it has to be verification dept., that deals with this. Sale items and coupons seem to trigger this, but they let you pay full price without any verification issues?!? Tip for consumers:They state free shipping, when you order over a certain amount, but add a handling fee, so it’s not really free!! Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“RECEIVED PIECES OF FABRIC NOT BOLTS”

Ordered 6 bolts of different fabrics. Got 3 bolts as ordered but I received the others in miscellaneous pieces - not usable if you are making clothing. And 3 yards were totally cancelled. I got taken by JoAnn's about 8 years ago with them sending me scraps of fabric instead of bolts & swore I'd never order from them again. I gave in because they finally had some pretty fabric & I figured by now enough people had complained that they changed their policies. Never ordering fabric from JoAnn's again. Service Value Shipping Quality

“Joann Canada on-line order”

I recently ordered a 10 ft length of drapery tape. What I received was 3 separate pieces. I want to return this mess for a refund but Joann online wants me to pay the postage to send it back. If I were able to shop in person I would never have accepted the scraps they sent me. Joann will get no more business from me.

“Fake coupons”

When you add in your coupon no discount is taken. Then you read the fine print and see why the coupon for such as "15% off total purchase " is not valid. Then you apply "free shipping" and they actually charge a small amount. I tried 15% entire for healthcare workers sine I am a nurse and that doesn't even work. Ugh. Tip for consumers:I gave up trying to order Products used:None Service Value Returns Quality

“Missing items in shipment”

My package was missing 4 large plastic file boxes. Once it arrived and I noticed this, i reached out to ask about it. That was 6 days ago and they kept telling me that their records indicated that they shipped the boxes and they've been doing their investigation for a few days now. I just don't understand how they can take peoples money and ship half of the items and pretend they shipped the full order. I will be calling my card company for a reimbursement.

“Deceptive advertising”

I've been watching a certain piece of fabric. A friend told me it was not currently marked down so that meant I could use my 50% off coupon. Living in Maine means there are not many fabric store options. I drove 40 minutes to topsham and got it cut only to find out it didn't count. It was 25% off. No sign. I was told their printer was broken. I think that means they should have whipped out a marker and made the appropriate signs or accepted the coupon. I consider this deceptive advertising.

“JoAnn's: Buyer Beware!”

Don't buy any electronics from this company. You can't return them. They lie & say you can to make a sale. I am no longer a customer of Joann's after 40 years and thousands of dollars spent over a refund of $80+ dollars. Tip for consumers:They need to post the policy on their door, at the register, a pin on the employee, and state the full policy on the back of the receipt. I had only had the item for a day and out of the box for just a few minutes. The employees working at two locations said I just needed my receipt to return the item. Two locations advising I could return it yet wouldn't accept the return and customer service is a joke and no help at all. So buyer BEWARE!!! Products used:Ott light extra wide area LED clamp lamp. Was actually too big for the table I bought it for but you couldn't tell without getting it out of the box. Because I removed it from the box they wouldn't take it back like I was told when I purchased it. Then claimed it was their store policy but if it was broken they could give me a refund but it wasn't. That's really messed up like I should have claimed it was broken. The light is too big and actually not bright enough for my taste.

“Pointless to do business with Joann”

Ordered 14 items online for pick up at nearest store. Card billed in minutes. 2 hours later got email saying "part" of order was ready for pick up. Order detail showed 13 of the 14 items were unavailable, refund pending. The 1 available item is useless without the unavailable items. Called customer service to just cancel order. Was told they can't/won't cancel orders. Best to go to store, pick up item and immediately return it. That will be a 40 mile trip for me wasting my time and gas. Tempted to just not pick up the single item and see what happens at the end of the "will hold your order for 5 days" period. Bet I'd be screwed out of my $12.99. Too many other reputable stores out there to have to deal with a shady company like Joann.

“Poor service”

I placed an order online line using a joann gift card. Never received. Contacted customer service and was told they could not trace gthe order using the gift card number or my name. I was angry and let him know. When I went to place the order again, but for pick up at store, my gift card was empty. There was 20+ dollars on the card, now it is zero. Because I was angry, they emptied my card for spite. Shame on you joann fabrics. Service

“Horrible customer service”

I never shop there, but made the mistake of buying one item online. Despite numerous efforts to contact customer service (they assure a response within 2 business days), they never replied. Nearly 3 weeks after the order it still hasn't shipped. Service Shipping

“One of the worst online experiences ever”

If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered something 3 weeks ago that was supposed to arrive within 5-10 business days (which is really long anyway in this day and age) and I've called numerous times and followed up and everytime, they just say, we'll put in a request and escalate it and you'll hear from us within 3 business days. Then it's "we'll check with the vendor and get back to you". Around and around. I ordered something for a time sensitive project and devastated my 11 year old girl trying to surprise her grandma with something. I decided to shop online because I find the employees in my local store rude and unhelpful but this is the last straw with this company. Hobby Lobby might not have as much selection, but the people there have always been incredibly kind and willing to help and answer all my questions without making it seem like I'm interrupting their day. Products used:I bought fabric and thread and still haven't gotten it. Service Value Shipping Quality

“Extremely UNRELIABLE shipping; customer service SUCKS!”

Don't bother wasting your time ordering from Joann.com. When your order doesn't arrive by the date shown on their email update, they will simply tell you that they have 10 business days to deliver--even if they have sent you notices with a much earlier delivery date. They refuse to cancel the order and insist that you return the items to the store. Since they refuse to be held accountable for their poor customer service and delivery practices, I will NOT be ordering from them again. Tip for consumers:Shop at Amazon instead. They ship and deliver items MUCH faster. Products used:None (still haven't received shipment). Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Bait and switch using fraudulent product signs”

It irritates me to purchase products that are advertised with a sign over said products and then be charged an alternate price at the register... t- shirts at 2 for 12 and then charged 12.99 for one and 8.99 for the other! They mark everything up at least 150% and then offer coupons for 40- 50 % off! The coupons don't always go through on the purchases and you don't see it until you're out of the store! I will never shop there again! These stores are just taking advantage of people! Hobby lobby is the best option! Tip for consumers:You’re not saving purchasing from the store! Products used:Window treatment products apparel products Service Value Returns Quality

“Awful store(s)”

The Brandon, FL location should be shut down. I've never seen such a horrible store. Dirty, merchandise just thrown every where. The employees REFUSE to help customers. They're rude. They're also incompetent. They give you 20 percent more off if you order online and pick up in store. They NEVER have my full order even when it showed the items in stock. They're too lazy to walk back and pick the items. I only got the sketch books I ordered because they're right up front. Anything that they have to walk more than a few feet to pick they just lie and say it's not available even though it really is. The managers one named Nik and one named Debbie should are not capable at f managing to tie their shoes never mind manage a store. I've given that store four chances and now I'm done and I'll never step foot in the hell hole again. I'll never order anything from Joann again. I do not recommend this store at all. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Wasteful packaging for online order”

I needed to write this review to hopefully wake Joann's up. I recently ordered 3 skeins of yarn and 3 different sizes of sewing machine needles. My order was sent out by item. Yes can you believe it! One package of sewing machine needles came in a LARGE plastic mailing bag. I then received 3 boxes about 14 inches long, 1 with 2 skeins of yarn, 1 with one skein of yarn and 1 with two packages of sewing machine needles in it. All the boxes were packed full of brown paper to take up the room. Silly thing was any one of these containers would have held the entire order without the addition of the brown paper to take up the space. Joann you need to rethink your shipping methods! This kind of waste is why our landfills are filling up.! Shipping

“Customer service and quality of purchase”

I have always had great service in the store and often use online to purchase fabric. I use a variety of fabrics and find that the quilt fabric is comparable to what I get in the quilt shops. The generic fabric is a good alternative to the more expensive quilting fabric and serves the purpose when I'm doing other projects that don't require the same quality. I appreciate having the flexibility to choose different grades of fabric to suit my project requirements. I recently bought some fabric on line and was pleased to see that it was as shown. And again the process of picking it up in the store was simple and the customer service was good. The only thing I have to say could be improved is the ease of using the website.. Products used:Fabric Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Coupons”

Re: Coupons What kind of cheap crap is JoAnn Fabrics doing! At one time you were able to use as many coupons that were applicable for your purchase. Ex: 20% off total purchase, $10.00 if you spend $50.00 or more and your Military Discount. Now you have gotten so cheap you can only use one coupon at a time! What is worse is if you do use a discount coupon you cannot use your Military Discount! How unpatriotic is that! Evidently your CEO is a pansy who has never served in the Military, Shame on you. Tip for consumers:Re: Coupons What kind of cheap crap is JoAnn Fabrics doing!!!!! At one time you were able to use as many coupons that were applicable for your purchase. “Customer service”

2 days ago I went to my local joann's and purchased 6 packages of black binding tape, using all my coupons. Today when I went to start my project I realized that I had purchased.25 inch vs.50 inch. I went back to the store today asking if I could exchange them for the correct size, the gal said no problem and returned the money to my card. I went and found what I needed and brought them to the same cashier. She rang them up and it was $5 and some change, higher than my original purchase! I asked why and was told it was because I didn't have coupons for this sale. Unbelievable! Tip for consumers:I was very disappointed Products used:Bias tape ( BINDING TAPE)

The second most powerful fraud prevention tool you should consider is Surfshark. Here is why you should get it now, as the first 5 months are free:

  1. They have an award-winning VPN service, protecting your privacy and preventing third parties from tracking your device.
  2. They will notify you when your personal info is leaked online so you can delete your private data from the Internet immediately.
  3. Surfshark has a super powerful antivirus program. It offers you effective protection from viruses and zero-day threats, a lightweight, clean, and easy-to-use app, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
  4. Check this: They hide your online searches, which means you will get only organic search results without tracking and follow-up ads. For example, when you search for a flight, and the next time you look at the same search, the prices are higher. With Surfshark, this doesn't happen.

For the Black Friday promotion, Surfshark offers 86% off + up to 5 months free to Scam Detector readers. You can get the deal only this week HERE or by clicking the button below. stop third parties to track my device button

Are You the Owner of joann.com?

If you own joann.com, we’d love to hear from you. If you'd like to challenge the trust score we’ve assigned, we’re happy to take a closer look. However, please be prepared to provide solid proof of your business's legitimacy. Introduce yourself with your name (not just "Admin").

When domain owners contact us to dispute their trust score, we kindly ask for the following:

* Business documentation that verifies your legitimacy (e.g., certificate of incorporation, business registration, or official records with the site or business name).

* Your personal LinkedIn profile and the business's social media accounts (e.g., Facebook).

* If available, proof of satisfied customers (e.g., screenshots, not just testimonials on your website), evidence of inventory, or records of handling order cancellations properly.

We’re more than willing to update your review based on the evidence you provide—the more proof, the higher your trust score. Please note, however, that we cannot verify non-operational websites or those redirected to other URLs.
