Is hgtv.com Legit?

Just watched "House of Ali" and what is this show showing us??Nothing is natural, I'm aware all the shows are scripted and I give every show a chance and this was the biggest disappointment. Let's give the audience the real life experience. I'm a interior designer and painter by trade (retired) and this one hurt to watch. Let her be what she is, but not on TV.Jeffrey N.Kelowna BC.

I have been a fan of this station for a long time. I like a lot of the shows, not so much the newer shows, but i can always go back and watch first seasons of certain shows. What I do not understand on some shows, is why when they are putting in an island in the kitchen, then put in a "rinky dinky" wooden island, with wheels (sometimes), ( Hillary Farr use those words on Love it or list it🙂. Do the home owner ask for that kind of island? I do not think i have ever seen Hillary Farr and property brothers do a butcher block island counter top. I love those shows.

Wow, what happened to Battle on the Beach? Now it is so silly and amateurish. We all know it is staged but please bring back designers with taste and professionalism.

Every fixer show is the same, we love farm house or older homes BUT everyone is about painting everything Gray or Black, gray gray gray, and gold faucets talk about outdated next year. And yes let’s paint all the original wood,,,NO stop it!!! There is no creativity in the “restoration” to the original. Oooo let’s make everything “Modern”, “clean lines “ Nooo Let see if there are any talented people who can add “Character“ back to these homes and with color.

In regards to HGTVs new 'Renovation Resort' series. While a show can never go wrong with the dynamics between Scott McGillivray and Brian Baeumler, this current new program comes up short on production values. The constant flick, flick, and fast flipping between scenes does not allow the viewer to see much detail. Very frustrating. It may be a new artistic production style, but comes up short on being enjoyable. To bad for the advertisers paying all that money for commercials never watched.

I have watched HGTV forever and until recently always found something to enjoy. The design shows are now filled with talent that comes off very amateurish. Not everyone who goes to design school has talent as the programming shows. Some of these teams are an embarrassment to the industry. The few shows that have actually shown vision and innovation should be ashamed to be grouped in with the vast majority.This channel is a shell of its former self.

Hi I'm very big fan of hgtv. I'm really like every episode of it, but today I have ben watching episode with Frankie and her mom buying house and I thing that was most boring episode ever. I never watch that bad episode. Just really bad episode, should never Benn playing in live tv . Big mistake ever.

I have been a fan since the beginning. I love decorating and home improvement shows. I am not a fan of some of the current shows. I guess one aired tonight. I don't want to see ugly houses or weird houses. I don't like either one of these.

Although I loved HGTV and watched it often, I realized if you try to reach out to them for help on your project you have, even to the ones that claim they Renovate in your area… for Example, I reached out to several designers here in the Atlanta area… as you know there has been few… Egypt Sherrod, Ken and Anita… just to name a couple… Even Mike Homes… but I know he is in Canada so that was a long shot!My point is these shows on HGTV, help the folks like their friends and family and friends of friends… and celebrities “Like Celebrity IOU” The Scott brothers… who cares about rich folks friends that the celebrities can afford to help… also, they choose neighborhoods that’s ideal when they do renovations! How about doing a neighborhood like where I am located in… it’s not bad area. Working class some middle class and some upper middle class… but since it’s not prime Atlanta… I guess it doesn’t meet the criteria of these fake perceptions HGTV and their designers want to portray!How about helping folks like myself that truly need help. And stop selling pipe dreams!

Too many repeats and on consecutive days. Wish these were shown on TV guides so as not to waste time. In addition, the date of the first showing of any ephisode would be more than welcome.

There’s absolutely no differentiation between programs. It’s all the same with a minor twist! The programming is very boring!!

paige turner is a thief. she is good but asks for too much, yet will settle for less. why not just ask for a fair amount to begin with. can't stand her , she doesn't play fair.

“Gets worse”

Ok first the flipping el moussas didn't work the first time. Nothing has changed they are awful. Then to show flip or flop like that going lol to help! We are over Tarik too. Good for you josh having nothing to do with that competition thing. Come on christina. I love watching you but shake the el mousse baggage. They bring you down. And hgtv don't be desperate. I will take reruns over crap.

“Farmhouse Fixer is worth your time”

I LOVE Farmhouse Fixer on the east coast. Jonathan and Christina are so creative and tasteful in remaking these old homes. The home with horses, that Jonathan had ridden when younger just made me gasp with those dark green walls. I can't seem to find this show, I do watch reruns on Saturday morning. When will new shows be available?

“Can someone please take this woman Christine the renovation lady commercials off the air.”

This lady's face in her commercials is causing my children to have nightmares. They told me the lady with crazy eyes on the barbie dream house program is underneath their beds at night. I'm sure this will probably fall on dead ears. I'm just curious if anyone else thinks that this lady is scared looking. Thanks.

“Unsanitized”

I've watched multiple shows (especially vacation home rules) setup food for pretential buyers without wearing gloves. Just nasty as heck, touching food that others will eat, wow. Stop setting up food or wear gloves please.

“Cuts off at the end of an episode.”

When I am casting, I can watch up till about 5 minutes before the end, during the all-important reveal. At that point, there is a problem, and I cannot watch any more, nor can I un-cast and watch the ending. I have had so many problems with HGTV. They employ the very worst programmers. I spent my life i software design, development and programming, so I know about testing, which is apparently a foreign concept to the HGTV employees. “Finding more suitable female hostess”

Just trying to understand how you all pick the females to give shows to, in must be easy to throw a rock out and hit a certain type of blonde, no shape, big boobs, no behind and if she turns sideways, you can't see her and she has to tie a board to her back to keep from falling in the toilet. It must be a blonde with the same characteristics that is choosing these womens, just get sick and tired of seeing these women that look like flagpoles, I'm not into thick women, you just think that you all can't find a black or some woman with some weight on them. “HG TV”

I'm ok with odd social situations. That's their business but when you throw them at me as HG programming it's either subject myself to their oddities or change the channel. A little oddness is expected as the world is a little odd but a steady stream of it is choking me. I change the channel. Too bad. I love HG TV.

I love this network. However the amount of time you all repeat the same 5 commercials is dizzying and exhausting. I literally have to change the channel at commercial time as I am sick and tired of watching the same thing on repeat. Please please please do something about this. Service Value

Just know that if I wanted to Binge'-Watch your shows I can do it my my own. I use to enjoy watching HGTV on weekends. Now, I"m.boycotting watching HGTV due to ypur marathon play list! It's just too.much and NOT a good thing. Ciao baby!

“Just terrible”

They put the worst shows on HGTV. I have stopped watching all together. Just because they had the Property Bros on they are still playing off of them. They show these terrible shows all day long. They don't even have a diversified lineup. And they show the same shows over and over. Just a terrible channel. Value Quality

“Wonderful programming!”

I've been a huge House Hunters fan for years, and I still love it, but I finally found a show I like more - Bargain Block. Keith, Evan, and Shea are all just as frigging adorable and funny and fun and talented as they can be. This show is so entertaining, they're doing a wonderful thing for Detroit, and it just makes me happy every time I watch it!

“Zombie House Flipping - Texas”

Texas version BLOWS, why would HGTV put a show like this on TV? The absolute worst programming ever. The Orlando version was inspiring until it was no longer on. I don't exactly what's happening at HGTV but the newer programming has a lot to be desired.

“Useful upper kitchen cabinets replaced with cheap, open-shelving for benefit of staged decor.”

I work at home and watch this HGTV endlessly. Re: Fixer to Fabulous, orig date 11-15-19, But, there's been a real rash of reno's whereby decorators take down useful upper cabinets & replace with relatively useless "open shelving". Sure, it's great for cool staging appearances - but ridiculously absurd for a functional kitchen. Come on, some of these decorators must actually use kitchens & realize the NEED for cabinets to store dry goods, etc. Most cans, boxes are not attractive. And, what's this BS of tearing out perfectly good cabinets and trashing them - disgustingly wasteful. Overall, I like Fixer to Fabulous. But check out photos - there's no storage in after.

“What has happened to my favorite channel?”

What has happened to my favorite channel? Most of the programming are repeats. I love Rehab Addict and wish it could be an hour. Let's see something new, besides the old "Love It Or List It." Ellen's show is interesting, so far.

Re: Fixer Upper - Basically enjoy the program, Joanna is great, she is a lovely lady & love her work but how she puts up with Chip I don't know. He's rude, always interrupting, is so childish, acts ignorant and disgusting. I don't want to see him drink muddy water from filthy boots, eat roaches, or take off his clothes. He's disgusting, not funny, it's getting old & I will have to stop watching if you can't get him under control.

“Seriously pitiful.”

I cannot believe HDTV picked this up. Their decorating skills are unprofessional and make me think somebody has a nick knack obsession. What a mess. The one episode I watched showed a lovely African American woman that I swear was ready to cry when she saw the reveal. I watch these shows either for inspiration or entertainment. This show offers neither and is not just boring but insulting to anyone with an artistic eye.

“Terrible show”

Tried to watch one episode of HomeTown It's was terrible. I don't get her accent at all. As someone else said it's so exaggerated, I find it embarrassing. All the hanging over each other. Are they trying to convince me they are a couple? As far as saving their town? Saving it from what? I live near there and homes in the historical district have been in demand and cared for forever. Lots of lawyers, doctors and business people always lived there. The place never really went bust like some kind of coal town in PA. That's what it suggest to me. At best you are doing some renovations another buyer would have done and probably better. Editing is also really poor. Don't know if HGTV paid someone but the cuts of the town look like someone's six year old recorded it on a first generation GoPro. Other stuff looked shaky.

“What's With The Voice Telling Us What We Are Watching?”

Most people watching these remodeling shows have a clue & don't need to be "told" with irritating voice what we are watching. Not only is it annoying, but also insulting to our intelligence and unnecessary. Please stop inserting this into the shows.

“ALL FLIP OR FLOP SHOWS ARE FLOPS!”

Enough already! If you show one more perky, sexy blond whose talent seems to be choosing tile I personally will throw a wrench through my T. V. screen. On second thought, I've done it one better -- I've simply stopped watching HGTV. Take a page from BBC "Grand Designs" and bring on a show that inspires co-operation between architect/builder and owners with vision in the first place!

I used to like HGTV because it was upbeat and about bringing out the best in people and community through design, and remained fairly neutral on touchy subjects. That has changed. I just watched an episode of Good Bones that spent a significant amount of time talking about Wicken. Ignorance on their part now has them blocked with parental monitoring so that my friends and family won't be caught off guard. Very disappointing. Service Value Quality

HGTV has always been and always will be the single best place to shop or browse and get valuable information on everything you could possibly think of dealing with housing, landscaping, redecoration, cooking, baking and so on. If anyone ever went on this site they would know how great it is. Keep up the amazing work.

“Bargain Block is a Blast!”

Bargain Block, with 2 guys putting life back into Detroit, has turned out to buy my favorite show! Can't believe they renovate houses on such low budgets. The houses are usually beautiful, not always to my taste, but decorated to the max. Very realistic in use of used furniture.

“Never buy a Kitchen Aid built in refrigerator!”

6 years after buying a very expensive built in custom panel refrigerator, the computer motherboard failed. Kitchen Aid 's response was that the factory was destroyed by the tsunami in Japan and that there are no replacement parts available. After numerous phone calls and negotiations, Whirlpool (Kitchen Aid) offered to sell us another at the same price our local retailer would! Look elsewhere! They do not back up their products!

“Erin and Ben / Genuine!”

It is a breath of fresh air to watch a married couple work together so well. They are genuine in that their love and respect for each other sets a high standard today. I adore her simple artwork. Our home is in need of a makeover for our handicapped daughter who was diagnosed with SMA. If they ever chose to help people in difficult living situations... They would be my first pick to help us renovate... BEN with his braun and Erin with her amazing insightful talent. Get MY VOTE... 100% Right now, I look forward to coming home from a long day of teaching and watch episode after episode! Thanks you two.! You help people dream!
