I spoke with Grow Team and they provided great insight into our small property management company and how we were ranking. I received an introductory video via the mail as well which allowed me to do my own research on my own time. We needed help with SEO and they helped a lot explaining what our expectations should be and referred a company that has been promising so far. The overall process with the sales staff was also a good experience and considerate of my time each time we spoke. Happy with the decision to go with them!
Grow Team is basically a 'drop ship' services company, they sell other peoples services and charge a ton for not so much. The firm they had me work with were nice enough but they never managed to get the SEO traction I was lead to believe that would return revenue. I had an account manager at Grow Team who I never met, never talked to and received emails about moving or rescheduling our meetings and exit interview. I'm not convinced it wasn't one of the sales folks doubling up on a another email account. Anyway, not a great experience.
Received a box from these guys a few weeks back. Waste of shipping box and money honestly. We, even as a small business, are not interested at all. Which is why we did not contact them. Today I ended up receiving two calls from them! The first person was rude when I asked why they were calling, and when I told them I was one of the people they asked for, their whole tune changed and they began this whole spiel about how they started and what they do and blah blah. As a small business owner, my time is valuable. I don't have time to listen to a sales pitch, especially when I cannot afford their services (which I see now are basically just another drop shipping service). When I finally got a word in edge wise I asked point blank "is this something we would have to pay for". I got a "No no, this call is totally free" but then asked again. "Is the end product/service something we would have to pay for?" Thats when the first guy snapped at me, then hung up. Another person called this time, just asking for the other owner. When I said she isnt here, and asked whos calling, they wouldn't tell me their business. Finally got it out of them and explained to him how rude his coworker was. I explained I don't have time to spend listening to a sales pitch for something I likely won't have money/want to do. I asked again, "Is this a service we would have to pay for" Finally got a "Yes" out of him. I told him we cant afford/do not want to pay for such services, and that it would be a waste of both our times to continue this conversation. I then hung up. He called back again to ask why I was being rude and why I wouldn't just let him talk to the other owner. I explained I am the owner who deals with IT and the website, so she wouldn't even be the one to talk to. And she has had this day planned off for weeks so she wasn't planning on talking to him either. Dominic was one of their names, not sure on the other. These guys gotta work on their advertising strategies, and not waste small business time with their cold calls. If you send out a huge package with E-waste and don't hear back from a company, then they obviously don't want your product/service! And apparently the other owner tried to tell them we were not interested and they still "Scheduled a call" with us. Overall, wouldn't use their service if they paid ME.
We are a remote team, receiving correspondence at our distant office and routinely having mail forwarded to us. We often encounter spam, which we promptly shred. However, we recently faced an extreme case of spam—a bulky FedEx box from Grow Team that incurred shipping fees equivalent to several lattes. Not only was this a waste of our funds, but it also represented a significant environmental impact, squandering tree-derived materials for a mere piece of spam with electronics—items we ultimately discarded. Also, no email mentioned in the Privacy Statement page work, so do not bother to send anything to unsubscribe@ growteam.com or Support@ growteam.com.
Signature Required Junk Mail!I have received frequent junk mail from GrowTeam via FedEx. I did not mind because like any junk mail, it requires little effort to toss in the trash bin. This time around FedEx tried to deliver a “signature required” piece of mail, but no one was in the office because we all work remotely. I had to drive 25 miles in traffic, to the nearest FedEx distribution center and waste 2 hours of my day, only to find - you guessed it; another Pre-K audio book from GrowTeam! I have probably received truckloads of junk mail in my life, but every spammer has had the decency to not waste two hours of my day like this. At most, I had to visit the nearest trash can. GrowTeam comes up with creative ways to annoy people. – If this is how they try to grow their business, how will they grow yours?
Sent us a completely wasteful piece of junk mail. A large card board video player with a video that explained very little of what the company actually does. The catch is that we could call them to have it recycled. Great way to get people to call isn't it? What a waste of resources for something so stupid.
I've had two other eCommerce owners receive the same video mailer solicitation from Grow and ask me if they're legit. We signed up and they found us an agency focused on organic SEO. After 12 mos of engagement, they've moved us from 73 keywords on Google's page 1 to 435. The challenge is they offer no measurable way to attribute our increased revenue to _their_ efforts (we have other factors including email, paid shopping ads, blog writing, store improvements, even COVID responsible for increased revenue). I've asked before for a report that shows revenue for these keywords but was told it isn't possible. It's sort of a black box and we just keep putting money in the slot ($2K/mo) after a 15 min update in GA each month. I would expect a little more involvement from Grow. It is a leap of faith to keep that level investment up for a long period of time. I find that unsatisfying.I decided to manually check on those 435 keywords and 137 have slipped off of page 1. It's really tough to measure they're efficacy and I believe the burden of proof is on Grow.
Received their solicitation at my business today. We have a 100% female owned and operated business. They sent the fairly expensive package via Fedex Express to THE HUSBAND OF THE OWNER and PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY. Obviously a stupid male runs this company. I am the co-owner and daughter.
Grow Team sounded like the perfect SEO marketing for my small company. They understood my frustration of spending $ and never seeing returns and agreed that as a small business, I was never really getting the bang for my buck large companies were able to accomplish. I agreed to try their service which was $1900/month. SEO work was passed off to Summit Marketing out of UT, and for over a year I waited for positive changes. My online retail shrunk by 50% and I kept paying with the hopes "next month" all the thousands spent would show increased sales and not be a total waste. I had many phone calls telling me it takes time, etc. My site went from a decent online retail to more of a blog like page, hard to shop from, and I had to stop at that point. It was the worst experience and a total waste of funds. I've had to pay to have my site "fixed" from all the changes made (none of which ever created any increase in traffic or sales). I've got to say the phone support is friendly and can convince any trusting person to continue on.. just a little longer... As I do my taxes now and see the thousands spent, with nothing to show for it, I feel completely duped. Do not wait months for changes like I did, and if your gut says to stop service, follow your instinct. I followed the advice of the "professionals" and wish I had not.
Just got a horribly wasteful piece of junk mail from these guys that included an auto-play video and connected LCD screen. I would hope a company that is supposedly going to help me with getting customers online has a more cost-effective less environmentally-destructive, less-privacy-invasive way of attracting its own customers. These guys clearly do not.
We have been using grow team to help refer us to qualified digital agencies for almost 2 years now. I am giving them 3 stars because they referred us to one good agency and one not very good agency. When I brought up the issues with the not so good agency, they didn't really work on helping us through the problem. They allowed us out of contract, but they didn't take an interest in making the relationship successful. It felt like they just didn't want to work that hard at ensuring our success. We are still working with the good agency. They don't check in with us - even quarterly or annually - to see how we are doing. So they refer, and drop out. Too bad the service isn't consistent, because companies like mine could really benefit from consistent, quality referrals that were seen all the way through. The agency that was not so good was in the discipline of social media marketing. They weren't terrible people, just not extremely competent and invested.
The growteam was aquired by Boostability. It seems to be a conflict of interest and that you are not getting the best in the industry but by default the company that purchased them.
I've worked with multiple SEO companies over the last several years and none of them delivered. Growteam helped us figure out the kind of work our site needed and connected us with a specialty firm that has been great. They doubled our 1stpage rankings on both Google and Bing over the last 14 months and have been excellent at communication and customer service. Our organic traffic is up 36% and we've even improved our onsite conversion by taking their advice about lead forms. I would definitely recommend using their service.
