gopro.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives gopro.com a fairly high trust score on the platform: 81.4. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Fair. Valid. Known.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 81.4 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to gopro.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Fair. Valid. Known. tags above. Long story short, we deemed this a known website, with a low scam probability. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning gopro.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between gopro.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of gopro.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of gopro.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. gopro.com is an innocuous suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether gopro.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether gopro.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, gopro.com.

Despite the numerous negative comments i had heard regarding the customer service from GoPro i have been pleasantly surprised by the great service and the friendly staff! After trying unsuccessfully to activate my daughters almost 2 year old camera, it is now going to be replaced with an upgrade and new battery. My daughter will be thrilled! Thanks GoPro!P.S. My only negative comment is that the estimated call back times on GoPro contact page are totally unrealistic. It would be helpful if this could be corrected. Thanks!
Faulty camera, I was subscriber, paid $100 to replace and I sent back camera. Never received a replacement and they won't help. Never again will I buy any GoPros after 10 years as a loyal customer.
I signed up to a 12 months subscription when we initially bought our go pro, as the extra bits we wanted worked our cheapest by doing it this way.11 months in I cancelled my subscription as I didn't require it anymore, from previous experiences with companies like this I new they would try to take payment anyway. So I cancelled the card I initially purchased the above with and just as I thought.... THEYVE TRIED 9 TIMES TO TAKE PAYMENT. Be careful when buying from this company, if you need too remember to cancel card after a purchase
By accident, I used an old shipping address via Google Pay (while both Google and GoPro store my current address in their account). I noticed as soon as I got the email confirmation. However, I could not change the order or connect to customer support in the weekend, not even via email or a webform?!? Monday morning at 9:00, their online support "opened" and I contacted GoPro's customer support through a webform, with further options to connect via chat or callback. Selected chat: error. So requested callback, with ~10 min. indicated as wait time. Did not hear back, so contacted again in the afternoon via chat. Indicated wait time was ~3 min, but had to wait for ~30 min. After indicating the problem, I got as feedback that the order could not be changed or cancelled anymore because it was already being processed... In the evening, 10 hours after contacting and indicating the problem, I receive "Great news— your GoPro gear is headed your way!".@GoPro, please take a look at how Amazon has arranged their customer support. There are many ways how you can improve your customer support experience for your customers!
I bought a GoPro hero 2024 back in November 30, since then I’ve never been able to use it, in fact going back and forth with customer support.I’ve updated the app in my phone (iPhone 15 pro max) and never able to update the camera, had to it manually form my pc, then connective issues and when asking for an exchange after exhausting troubleshooting of this fourth device, they claim if fails agains I won’t be covered for a refund. Bad experience overall.
Total scam. Do NOT give your credit card to this company. 4th attempt to call them and the only way is to wait a call back. They renewed my subscription though they say the service was going to be interrupted. Read all the comments, this problem is recurrent.
They think editing 10 hours of footages just to make a vlog that lasts 15 minutes via the mobile app with limited storage on the smartphone makes perfect sence! Sounds Perfect to me!
Extremely poor customer service. Go Pro are difficult to contact if any problems and differing information given between chat agents left me hugely disappointed with a replacement order.
I’ve been paying for the premium subscription monthly and never got the premium access for my editing. It’s been a year and I’ve filed a case through customer support and they still haven’t gotten back to me. Called multiple times in their customer service and they still haven’t gotten returned my calls or emails. Very dissatisfied with their customer service.
Took money out of my account 1 year after I bought my GoPro. I never ever signed up for a subscription, I only bought my GoPro. Absolutely disgusting that they operate like this. Had to submit a claim to get my money back from my bank. A truly awful company. On top of this, the GoPro itself is over rated. The app is completely useless and so clumsy and unintuitive to use. It’s just not a good product in any way, shape or form. I hope they fold.
Placed order for hero13 on 27th of November and still received nothing and they don’t care at all. Customer service no existent.
If only zero stars were possible! Worst customer service, stay away at all costs! Their shipment partner says it delivered my order however it's nowhere to be found even though they have all the instructions and password to our building, delivery picture is a blurry barcode and nothing else. Gopro, as the shipper and owner of product until the customer receives it, doesn't offer any solutions other than "work it out with UPS". Where UPS can't provide any proof of delivery other than "we delivered it". Be careful, you can burn $300 for a product you never received from the shipment company they have a contract with. So it's the customer's responsibility? Thanks for ruining my husband's gift but also good to experience how you care about your customers. Amazing!
I would give them zero if it’s possible. No customer service at all. Almost impossible to contact. Don’t work on weekends. Chat person “spoke” to me in the most condescending way. Camera supposed to be delivered 6 days in a row and all they can say is “we have to wait until it is returned to issue a refund”. Do not purchase from them at any cost. Go to a retailer or Amazon.
Company seems unable to deliver, we get a new date from UPS every day but no delivery....they should not trade if they cannot deliver.
Do NOT buy a GoPro if you are in the UK - their support is shocking (Google it on their support forums). I purchased an item, they charged me the wrong amount, would not correct the price OR cancel the order (despite contacting them 2 days before they actually shipped the item). They stated I had to wait for the item to ship and then return it. Now they are refusing to refund me the tax, so I am £82.08 out of pocket. Apparently this is company policy. I am taking legal advice, but save yourself the hassle...
Do not buy from this company. There are plenty of other action cameras that are way better. Bought the HERO and Hero13, both advertised to have 4k quality. They're easy to use, but the quality is horrible. It looks like I recorded a video with an old flip phone. It also doesn't reduce noise and soften motion like it says. Horrible camera from a shady brand. The fact that they don't let you leave reviews on their products should've been my sign not to buy from them. Also, their products are disgustingly overpriced and they jack their prices way up (I'm talking by hundreds) around the holidays.
Do not waste your money on GoPro get DJI action instead.. I've had a faulty battery on a GoPro 11 for two months that doesn't hold charge, impossible to contact anybody from GoPro, I will never waste my money on another GoPro product..
Hi everyone,Please do not buy any Gopro or accessories. The gopro 11 that I have , has a lot of problems. One time the camera fogged up inside. I complained to the company they asked me my information and address for replacement and I did not have any more contact from them. Now the 100 dollars waterproof case, the clip broke so easier due the poor quality. DO NOT BUY . CHECK ANOTHER CAMERAS from different companies.
Terrible experience, have the shitty GoPro 11 Black Mini - after activating the auto-upload subscription my camera randomly died... GoPro unable to assist and have effectively screwed my once in a lifetime trip to the other side of the world
I would give 0 if I could. Impossible to cancel or dispute charges. Customer service non existent. I was auto renewed even though I cancelled over a year ago.

“I dumped GoPro”

First I have had gopros for over 14 years and had 3 of them fail, also the upgrades they do, they change batteries, and accessories that don't fit their previous models, I bought a new in-the-box Hero 10 black and the sensor in the camera was bad, after hours of going through setups I finally realized that it was a bad sensor, their support is terrible. Their new cameras are just a minor update and not worth it. I will not be buying any more of their products compared to other manufacturers there really failing on their products

“Worked fairly well for two years.”

I received my Hero8 Black as a gift. Customer service gave inconsistent advice regarding set up and they had to send me a second battery in the first month. After about 2 years, the video playback froze after about 5 min. Next came to picture display; just the menu on a black screen. A repair company told me they'd have to replace a main circuit for $159. GoPro offered a "subscription" including cloud storage and "Guaranteed Camera Replacement" What they don't mention is that, if they don't happen to have another of your same camera in their warehouse, there is a $99 Service Fee. I was asked for my credit card and told that the new camera would not be shipped until they had received my old camera and determined what the problem was. It seemed to me that the whole think is a scam. For $350, the camera should last more then 2 years. I probably used it twice per month for the first 90 days, then it was put away for the winter. If that is an example of how long the camera lasts, why would I pay another $99 for yet another of their cameras. Maybe the 2-year replacement policy is their profit structure. Not for me! I gave the camera and accessories to a friend and cancelled my subscription. Products used:Hero8 Black Service Value Shipping Quality

“Practically a scam website”

Ordered £500 worth of cameras several weeks ago. Never arrived and showed returned to sender by UPS as they failed to put correct labels on. Weeks later they still have my money and customer service doesn't care. I will have to do a credit card charge back. Honestly ordering directly from them is like buying from a scam website.. Products used:None as they never sent them Service Value Returns Quality

“Excuses why not to Exchange”

I purchased a GoPro 8 Black 10 months ago. Cam had a red light in the front of the cam. Checked their website for help. Found out these cameras have an existing problem with this issue. Called customer service, advised all info they promised will get back to me which they never did. I waited 48 hours then i called back to find out because of the place I purchased it from they are not an authorize dealer. I argued with them on who cares where did I get my cam from since is still a Gopro Product they should honor the year warranty so they refused. I will never buy a gopro product again. Tip for consumers:Never Buy their product Products used:Action Camera Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Waste of Money”

My Gopro stops recording randomly. I had tried all the fixes I could find online. Customer support were useless, offered me advice on updating firmware and formatting SD cards, which I already knew. Very expensive waste of money.

“Great Customer Service!”

I purchased a brand new Hero 10 Black that had an issue, so I contacted GoPro Support. They had me perform a few troubleshooting steps, submit a sample video, then they emailed me a return label. I sent the camera back and received a brand new replacement within two weeks. Their customer service reps were very professional and courteous, I had an overall great experience. “Everything feels like a scam”

Everything you do with them feels like a scam 1 not having an account setup for people who order their products without subscribing. So when i purchased i had no idea what happened because i couldnt look up my order until it had physically shipped. 2 a subscription that promises features then doesnt deliver 3 if you buy from them they charge you in another currency/country to what you purchased in and you get bank fees 4. They use dodgy shipping companies in australia that basically sit on the delivery in their delivery center. UPS got the camera to my city in 3 days (great work there). Its been sitting with couriersplease for 4 days with no indication of when it will be sent. 5. I assume if i have a warranty issue i will have to ship it back overseas to get it reviewed. Im fed up with this company already and dont even have the camera. Tip for consumers:so disappointed in the original action cam company i have had 3 cameras before and they get worse every time. Products used:Hero Black 12 Service Value Shipping Returns

“Horrible Customer Service”

You can't call them directly. There is a phone number with a recording that directs you back to the website. DON'T pay for a subscription. If you want to cancel it, you get NO refund. Wish I had never heard of GoPro Tip for consumers:DON'T BUY Service Value

“Crappy company”

Cameras that do not function well. Bad customer service about fixing their issues. For replacement of their bad products, they charge another $$$ 135 and more with trying you to subscribe, etc. I agree with the other review - their subscription is a scam! Either way, this company does not care about the customer or its products. They just trying to get from the customer as much as they can while not selling much of under-functioning overrated cameras. Very sad!

“Totally terrible customer support”

Please. Please do not purchase anything to do with Go Pro. I was promised a camera to be shipped out last Friday, now after 5 days.I have been told that there is no camera in stock. 5 days.5 different stories. First, it will be shipped on Friday.Second day.we dont ship on Saturday, Monday we dont have camera in stock and today, we have to wait for few more days to process. I used gopro 7 Black.useless camera and wanted to upgrade it. Now I think I will just use my Samsung phone Tip for consumers:EXTREMELY BAD CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND BAD CAMERA AS WELL.. Products used:gopro 7 black Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Terrible Product”

Terrible product. It froze for no reason and I lost valuable footage that can never be taken again. Called GoPro - they just offered an apology and said they'll inform their tech team. Since the 'glitch', I've discovered it's happened again and again. Should just have used my phone. Terrible waste of money. Offered me a 15% discount on their other prodcucts - laughable! Can't understand why their teach team can't fix the issue - just not investing enough money in their product and living off their name.

“Lousy product. Cameras constantly overheat. Zero customer support.”

The quality of these cameras does not deserve their reputation nor popularity. They are constantly overheating and freezing generation after generation. These issues should've been addressed and resolved years ago. Also tech support or customer assistance is non-existant. I regret buying mine. Save your self the frustration.

“BEWARE GoPro Subscriptions!”

BEWARE GoPro Subscriptions! Signed up for a 1-year subscription that I cancelled the same day it renewed. GoPro still charged my account multiple times. Customer Service? Unhelpful, hiding behind 'company policy'.‍ Their 'benefits'? Not used once! Don't be their next victim, your money deserves better respect! #GoProRipOff Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Camera replacement”

My go pro black 10 broke, and sent it back for a return under the warranty policy, Return Merchandise Authorization for Case ******* - it arrived on January 3rd at the warehouse. Today is January 16th, no tracking number, no communication on the next steps. I called now 2 times, the second time they advised me they would check with the warehouse and would get back to me in 24 hours, no one reached out. This is by far the worst customer service experience I've ever had, I've been a gopro customer for 5+ years, after this experience I will never purchase their products again. The quality of the cameras has also gone down over the years which you can make up for customer service, in their case it's not existent. “Do not do business with this company...”

I ordered a camera on February 3. On February 10 ups tracking number Said the camera was dropped off at a amazon facility south of where I live about a half hour's drive. Don't know why gopro sent it to an amazon facility in the first place. They had the correct mailing address. On february 13 I called gopro and got a case number said it would be resolved in 2 to 3 business days. Call back again on that friday and got the same b s. Today is March 1st and I just called them again took 13 minutes to get somebody on the phone gave them my case number and they said somebody would call me. Back within five minutes and I never got to call back. So in conclusion GoPro in my opinion is going to be short lived company do not do business with them for they do not care about customers. OK they did get back to me and it took another 20 minutes Being on the phone and they said they're going to refund my money within 7 to 10 business days. I will believe it when I see it.

“Unsubscribe been impossible”

I have tried cancellation of my subscription. When I couldn't find a way to cancel, I canceled credit card and got a new one. Somehow your company charged that card again on annual membership totally without my authorization, this is total bullcrap. I have written a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and plan to seek out all avenues to review and warn all platforms and chats of your deceptive practices. Tip for consumers:Total rip off of subscription, won't allow you to unsubscribe Products used:Camera with storage subscription Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Worst Customer Service”

GoPro support team not take customers issue seriously. After at least reaching out to GoPro customer support, I have been told that some executive or manager will call me. And never happened. I provided my phone number 4-5 times at least. It's a waste of time. Before you buy any GoPro product think twice of what kind of customer service you will get. Very Very poor customer service. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Pioneers of the market.”

GoPro was the pioneer in this sphere and the company still makes solid action cameras. But back in the day they were the best in it. I'm not sure if it's this way at the moment. But anyways you got a decent quality for the price.

“This company is a scam, they hide subscriptions to charge you”

This company is a scam, they hide subscriptions to charge you, when you realise they already rob in your bank account. I will never buy any product from this company again. They manage without any honesty, be careful. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Subscription SCAM”

Pathetic that a company like this has to resort to bundling subscriptions with camera purchases in order to scam people out of $50 when it auto-renews. Then REFUSE to refund even though there is absolutely no reason not to issue a refund unless you are trying to straight up rob people since there is absolutely no equipment involved. Tip for consumers:Look at the pathetic attempt they make to keep subscribers as they know their service is garbage and unnecessary. Hope they go out of business soon. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Worst Customer Service”

I was appalled by the service of Go Pro. They took forever to cancel my order, did not communicate with me that they had. In which I had to call multiple times. Their poor service caused me to miss promotional deals. When I called them, they ignored me on my call. The worst service. I expected so much better for go pro. Tip for consumers:So disappointed in Go Pro and the way they handle customer service Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Cant upload pics from camera.”

Have to take sd card out and insert it into computer(which is a pain). Battery started failing after 6 months. Wouldn't charge over 64%. Gopro's solution was to send me new charger. Couldn't fix the transfer problem! Way overpriced compared to comp! Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Miscommunication between GoPro and customer. Misleading communication between GoPro and customer.”

GoPro is not interested in satisfying or even communicating properly with customers in paid replacement device exchanges. They miscommunicated and even mislead throughout the entirety of an unecessarily long process to replace one device. Products used:GoPro camera. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Beware of subscription.”

Canceled my subscription one day after I noticed they charged my credit card without notification. They did not want to reimburse me for the whole year even though we do not want to keep the subscription. They said I was one day late to cancel so I had to swallow the $49.99 subscription. Great company! So sad we really liked their product.

“Good camera, other than that you have to be a genius to make videos”

And store videos and share them I am so exhausted by the time I figure out how to make a video on the tiny screen And then their system …messes with my head for how to share the videos Granted I am older and do not use this product often The potential for how I want to use it is there but the circus for finding out the info I need wants to make me shoot myself in the head, or go pro system Tip for consumers:I don’t know what this review site is..but it is stupid Products used:Stop being stupid with your endless questions Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Additionally, we do not verify websites involved in high-risk financial services, gambling, adult content, or illegal activities.
