Have had numerous engagements with Gamestop customer service. #1 they are incompetent. They do not care, and do not resolve problems. I've concluded the customer service is designed to make you not wish to be a customer any longer.
I pre-ordered a Nintendo game for a nephew, the release date was several days away at the time of the pre-order.I found out later that day that another relative had already pre-ordered the game so I tried to cancel the pre-order. GameStop did not respond to my email request, so I called them. I ended up speaking to someone whose primary language was not English, and it was incredibly difficult to understand him . I was told that I could not cancel this order, even though it had not been sent yet . They gave no explanation as to why not ; and even when I suggested that it was more work for them to send something that they knew I didn't want, they said I could return it and then after they received it back they could start to process a return. I thought the entire conversation was ridiculous ; I understand why they are forced to close many stores. Terrible customer service, and I'll never do business with GameStop again.
Horrible online customer service.First of all, they didn't reply to my open ticket until more than a week later, when my problem was past the point of being able to resolve the issue. I had visited one physical location weeks ago and the employees promised that they would be able to help me with my problem if I provided them the proof of purchase receipt and upon returning a couple of days later with the receipt, a different lady employee denied to help me even after I explained my situation and was very dismissive, basically ending the conversation every time I tried to elaborate. That's when I turned to the online customer service, and they were just as dismissive as the physical location employee. Super disappointed and will never do business with these phonys again--they will never be helpful if you run into any problems.
Gamestop charges regular price for used items. I found that buying new is better because it cost the same and I get more use out of items. Why would I buy a pre-owned used item for the same price as the new item when the worth of the item is less? Looks like I have no use for the service and maybe canceling credit and account.
I was trying to buy a Nintendo 64 retro console and controllers for a Christmas present. Unreal how difficult it was to get any answer at the store level and online. One store actually told me to buy it on Amazon and I did. I am not a gamer, but if I was, I would never stop at Game Stop.

This business is out of control first it was forcing customers to pre-order anything in-store, now their forcing customers to fully order the item ship it to home in-store then declining your orders once the release date is due. I was ripped off many times by this store when it was branded EBGAMES. The first time they ripped me off was a planetside expansion pack Sony entertainment de-activated leaving me out of $27+ dollars only a couple months after i made my purchase and when i tried to get my money back from EBGAMES they told me to pound sand. the rest of the times they ripped me off was on used game trade-ins. I will dance on Gamestops grave when its finally bankrupt.
It's impossible to order anything there. All I'm getting is "We were unable to complete your order due to a system decline." all while actually charging my credit card. I had to call my bank and report them as fraud as the result.

I placed an order for two products: an used Nintendo 3Ds game, and a PS5 add-on. I placed the order on October, with a message of 3 business days to be delivered. I was surprised that the item was shipped a day after from a zip code less than 10 miles from my house. I remember looking for the products in the site and they never suggested that store has them. They told me that unfortunately the package was lost in the system and was "unrecoverable". I contacted GameStop call center, and after a long wait I was able to talk to a human. They find out the package was indeed lost and they said they will ship me a new order. Two weeks after I have no indication of that order, so I contacted the email support. A week after I got the same automated message. Then I contacted the call center, but this time they put me on a hold that will call me back before 9:00 PM. I called 5 times, 5 different days and they always say they will call me back before 9:00 PM. Never happened and now I have a claim with PayPal who said they are also having issues getting a hold of someone at Gamestop.
Gamestop employee lied straight to my face and said I could buy anything gamestop sells including steam gift cards with gamestop gift cards. After going home and buying 75 dollars worth of them I realized I CANNOT per gamestop new policy. Now i’m stuck with 75 dollars worth of gamestop gift cards I have no purpose for.

I ordered some trading cards for my daughter's birthday present I used the website cause my local gamestop wouldn't give me the sale price even though they had signs up. We'll I never received my package and now after a month of back and forth with them about it they are refusing to help me. They basically told me it's not their problem I never received my package. I've ordered thousands of $ worth of collectibles from them in the past year and never an issue. But the one time I do have an issue they are unprofessional, slow, and lacking all empathy. I used to wonder why this company would be going down hill and now I know why. They don't vaule their customers. (This is for the gamestop at Oak Walk Dr in Oakville, Ontario) I visit Gamestop once every couple of months to trade or buy. My last 2 experiences at the other Oakville location were not good. So I returned the store I originally frequented( the first change was based on distance not quality ) What a difference good customer service makes, Natasha was cheerful, engaging and helpful with my trade. The difference in approach to the 2 stores is quite surprising. I blame it on new hires or management. Nonetheless, thank you Natasha for making my day a little easier. I will surely come again.

“Sold stolen XBOX”

He turn it on yesterday for the console to be ban by XBOX because it was stolen! I called the corp off and all the are willing to do is have me trade it in and pay for a different one! Bought some Xbox Games on December close to Christmas and ordered as Same day delivery through online and they sent Walmart Spark Company to deliver the order. On the text recieved later told it's delivered and when i look outside on my house the item is not there and the link saying delivered has no proof or picture it's delivered. I would give no stars if it was an option. I've been a customer at your store for over 20 years. My husband and I have spent a fortune of our hard earned money at your stores. For some reason we keep buying gaming head sets along with the warranties. Every time we buy the headsets and the warranty the employee working claims the warranty covers EVERYTHING, but THAT IS A LIE! Today we went, at least our third time over the last few years, to return a defective headset along with our warranty to receive a new set. And of course like every other time we are told our warranty does not cover it. What is the point of a warranty if it doesn't cover anything! Recently purchased two game cards from GameStop and they literally are fake Cards and when I called corporate they gave me the number to some company called epic that don't have any way to resolve anything. “A BARE MINIMUM COMPANY IN SERVICE”
The customer service was garbage as my order sat in the warehouse for days not moving at all, and it was never moved until I had to cancel it through customer service who was tone deaf as to the situation with incompetence. It is oblivious from the other reviews that GameStop doesn't give a crap about their customers because they display a great deal of incompetence when handling online orders. When I called customer service they didn't seem to care at all, and I wanted them to figure out what the hell was going on. Instead of doing that they said they will just send a request to cancel to the warehouse to cancel. Basically, what they tell their customers that they are going to do the bare minimum, if you can call it that, to get their customers to buzz off. In their eyes you are not a customer, but just another order number and they made that clear from the call. There was no care and no desire to see what is going on. It is a shame that they keep throwing their hands up wanting to know why their company is going in the crapper and the answer is right in front of them. I would gladly warn anyone away from this organized joke of a corporation and advise them to shop local because at least locally they can't fumble your package around like its their stocks. Paid for standard shipping yet my order arrived 2 days earlier then was promised. I never have to wait more than a day for my order to be processed and ready to ship. Bought a wired xbox controller from them on 12/22/2023 obvious Christmas gift. Item works for approximately 10 minutes at a time. Took it back to Game Stop. Very rude store personnel. Told that the wired controllers usually only work for a short time and that I should purchase a non-wired controller that is made by Microsoft. Would not refund me because I didn't have the box to it. Did I mention Christmas gift? No box. I was also told the these 4th party (PDP) items are "hit or miss" on working. I ordered 4 items from GameStop.com on 11-10-23. Shipping is $7.99 for 1-3 shipping. 1 of my four items arrived on 11-15-23.
