fnb.co.za Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives fnb.co.za a fairly high trust score on the platform: 81.7. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Fair. Valid. Known.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 81.7 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to fnb.co.za's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Fair. Valid. Known. tags above. Long story short, we deemed this a known website, with a low scam probability. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning fnb.co.za, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between fnb.co.za and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of fnb.co.za. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of fnb.co.za, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. fnb.co.za is an innocuous suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether fnb.co.za has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether fnb.co.za boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, fnb.co.za.

AMAZING Customer Support Service with personal calls and online guidance from Mr. JOHAN VAN GRAAN (FNB Foreign Exchange Product House)and Mr. CLINT PALM (FNB Advisory Desk)They were kind, patient and beyond helpful to explain everything in detail to me as a first-time user of the App / Platform.Gentlemen, thank you thank you. With warm regards and much appreciation!
Watch out , opportunistic bank. Will take your money if you have few loans, you won’t even notice.I have paid 6th years now , actual amount is still there 🥹Few other banks with better offers..
Bad service. I wanted my sms on my phone to show again.i had a fraud transaction almost go off if it was not for the incontact sms.when I got my new card they say they cannot do the sms for me. They have done away with it. I was absolutely angry. They say I must log onto my app. I don't have Data to keep going in n checking my account and I must have data cos with telkom I cannot check without data. I told them this is such an inconvenience for me. The moment there's activities on my account I know immediately via sms. I'm paying for my services n when a customer requests for this service it should b given to them. It's left to them if they want to b at risk ir not.i am very upset with their service. I'm deciding to close my account with them. Horrible service.
FNBs payment or fee structure is absolutely disgusting. One month is R200 the other R600. A business account that gets charged for every transaction is simply stupid. Capitec, STD bank and Discovery have much better value for money and their fees don't fluctuate every month. The last straw before closing my personal and business accounts with them is for being charged R417 for 3 transactions that were "made" with insufficient funds in the account. Their consultant is insistent it's because the transaction failed but they honored the purchase. So essentially saying that if your account has less than the required funds they pay and you pay back with excess. So you can purchase a car with no funds then pay back later? The issue stems from their reserved purchase system. How is a person, especially a business supposer to know what funds are in the account constantly without logging in? If the funds left immediately after a purchase you'd know how much is left. A R57 swipe cost R155 . 3 times so I've been charged R417 for that. FNB is essentially a scam and bad business practices. I'd advise anyone contemplating opening accounts with them to reconsider the multiple much better options than them. Zero stars
I was a victim of credit card fraud in late November, and was alerted at the time of the suspicious transaction and blocked the card. The fraudulent amount still came off my account, but FNB was able to reimburse the amount within a day after calling in and reporting it.
It has now been 6 days since I raised my query with FNB, and I have yet to receive any meaningful response or assistance. The online Forex chat platform has been completely unhelpful, providing no resolution or even a sense of urgency.Out of desperation, I visited an FNB branch, where I was promised I would receive a call to resolve the matter. It has been over 24 hours since that promise, and still, no one has reached out. This lack of communication and care is appalling.Because of FNB’s inefficiency and complete disregard for my situation, I have now missed my brother’s funeral. This was an incredibly important and emotional event for me, and FNB’s delays and poor service have added unnecessary pain to an already difficult time. This experience has been absolutely devastating. FNB’s inability to deliver even the most basic level of service is unacceptable, and I cannot express how disappointed I am
I am absolutely appalled by FNB’s behavior and their complete disregard for their clients. This bank has become nothing more than a money-grabbing institution that fails to protect its customers. (I would like to give them a zero rating)Recently, I noticed an unauthorized deduction in my account for Uber, and to make matters worse, FNB had the audacity to charge me R150 on top of it! How is that even acceptable? Now, a service provider has deducted more than their usual amount without authorization. FNB can clearly see this was an unusual transaction, yet they did nothing to stop it or protect me. And they charged me for the failed transaction. What is the point of paying exorbitant banking fees if our money isn’t safe? This level of incompetence is disgusting. Instead of safeguarding their clients, FNB seems to be finding new ways to rip us off. Enough is enough! I demand action and accountability.FNB, your service is disgraceful, and I will not hesitate to share this experience with others. Step up or lose more loyal clients like me!
Extremely unprofessional service from agents who just drop the call mid sentence whilst explaining a query. Secure chat - useless, secure call useless, FNB - useless. Their service agents are completely incompetent with even the most basic issues. Agents on secure chat take more than 10 minutes just to reply and after an hour one is still stranded with the same problem without anything being resolved and you have to start all over again because you get kicked out if you don't respond in 2 minutes. Try calling them - the agents don't even bother an hang up. Time to go to another bank after being with them for over 10 years.
My sister who had a problem with her bank profile and card I took her to your branch in Pinelands Cape Town. She was in a wheelchair after having surgery. I would just like to commend the consultant that helped her (Fatima) although it took a while due to the profile had been blocked by the fraud department. She was extremely professional and very patient. Well done FNB excellent service
I think it really doesn't matter what service you get all round; we have to consider the next or following person in consulting you at the best they can or will in whatever it takes. The more positive we treat each other the more excellent service will become to your satisfaction.
Fnb i for an averdraught increase if 50 k all you could offer is 15k which quite frankly is an insult . But a week later after accepting the 15 k absolutely no correspondence in 5 days . So dissatisfied that once ive ive payed my debt off which i will , yall can get *****. Disgusting service . How do you guys still operate after such a pòor rating . Skelms
Dominique at FNB Karaglen, gave me exceptiomal service, when at 8h30 she exchanged notes for cash, (as the tellers only opened at 9am) which we desperately needed at Eastleigh Hospice shop. Thank you so mvch Dominique, keep up the good work. Please could her superiors give a thumbs up and acknowledge her excellence!!Thank youChristine Scheepers
Recently opened an account to access Home Affairs services. Shocking service and every interaction ends up in a phone call. Once you get through, you're sent from pillar to post and end up in dead end after dead end. I've spent hours on the phone and should've just queued at home affairs as this would've been far easier. For a bank that is apparently innovative and tech focussed it is embarrassing how complicated a simple account opening has been.
I bought pre-paid electricity, money deducted, but did not receive any units. Reported on their chat service, and was informed that it was referred to the relevant unit, but few days later no feedback and no units. Have been with them for only 5 months but would not recommend them to anyone. They have an excellent social media strategy but that's where it end. To get to the maximum reward level, there are endless hoops to jump through. As soon as Capitec improve their reward system, I am going back.
I had been banking with FNB for a year until I started experiencing problems with money that went missing after getting paid. Upon further attempts to rectify this over the chat system on the app, the consultants were of no assistance. I travelled several times to a branch with no joy. I had to switch banks soon afterwards.
I have been using FNB from 2010, my salary and all my side businesses money goes to FNB but all the time when I apply for a personal loan, home loan, credit card I got declined, even the overdraft facility, lapho my car loan is with Nedbank, my home loan is with ABSA, Personal loan with ABSA, someone please ask me why am I still with FNB and still loyal to them???? It’s been 15 years, they only offered me R3500.00 loan, can you imagine…
I am having trouble with my cell phone app at present and require help to rectify this as I am currently in the United Kingdom. I have contacted FNB through their Service Suite or “online chat “ and the advisers have been generally utterly incompetent and clueless. When I got to somebody at last that wanted to help, he gave me a referral to the technical department that were supposed to phone me within 24 to 28 hours. I am still waiting. I made a complaint and is still waiting to be contacted. How long must the customers be treated like this before something changes?
FNB is hands down the worst South African bank a person could use. DO NOT USE FNB! I am currently in London. FNB decided to put a fraud block on my account five days ago. There has been no attempt of fraud and my account has not been implicated in any fraud. The the last five day I have been stuck in London with no access to funds and haven’t been able to leave the house. I get no response from FNB and the only way I can contact them is by phone call (which obviously costs a fortune outside of South Africa). I have never dealt with a company so useless in my life!
The absolute worst bank in the country. Don't trust a word these people say. Don't trust any rewards programme or promotion. Don't trust their services and don't ever, ever think that you're going to have a meaningful or successful interaction with fnb support - these arrogant, incompetent morons have zero respect for customers and zero pride in their own work. If you want to be cheated and lied to, be angry and frustrated all the time - bank with these guys.
Although in branch service is excellent, you NEVER want to be in a position where you have to phone the forex division. We have been holding on for 20 min with the same message on repeat every 15 seconds.

“FNB Law on Call-Please do not trust their service”

One of the worse policies to take out, please stay away from this service when you get a call. They higher out lawyer's that have no idea what they doing, your case means nothing to them... it is rip of your money. No urgency, rude lawyer's. Service Value Quality

“FNB terrible bank - no feedback no friendly service”

FNB High Priority Complaint reference *******NF. Since my complaint, still waiting for an answer on the above reference number. Totally useless, unfriendly, incompetent bank. Liars claiming they care... not a chance, they only care about themselves. During Covid, when most of us were suffering, they phone me to say my overdraft was going to be dropped from R100K for my business to R60K, just when you probably needed most. No paper work, nothing. They said that to help and be fair, they would drop it R 1700 per month, which was what 2 years? Well, it never stopped. To day is R *******. Still NO communication, no notice, NOTHING. That is why the reference. I went to the useless Woodbridge branch in Kempton Park to ask why they continue to drom my facilities, which I rarely use and they promised to let me know. Two days later I get a nasty, rude mail telling me basically because I am a delinquent with ALL my accounts, cards, loans etc. Which by the way is not true. Did not use overdraft basically for more that2 years, I don't have CC with FNB and never been late on the only loan I have of R 80K to buy a car. So, still waiting them to check the issue and if a simple look to a simple business account takes over 2 weeks, God knows what will take to fix a complex one. If you are in the banking field and interested, I am here for a new bank for my personal, business, home loan (never in arrears) and my will that are currently with FNB. Useless liars.

“Best banking app”

I have seen different banking apps from friends but they user interface is boring and difficult But FNB app is so easy and safe even if you have a password it won't work on any other phone or laptop. If you are in Africa try this bank

“FNB should stop employing parrots”

I have been with FNB for many years, but it seems their service is getting worse by the day. Maybe they should start employing people with acctual knowledge and not teach a bunch of idiots which buttons to push and what lines to read. Asking them a question is like talking to a recorder, they just repeat the same lines.

“A bank that serves you!”

I have been an FNB client for almost 11 years. They have shown that your money is secondary to them. I have received remarkable service whether it is to open a personal or a business account. They are a complete package: their branches, online banking and app. The website is a breeze to use and the app is well designed and efficient. Walk into their branches where you are greeted and directed to the correct person. For traveling abroad, starting a business or even the accounting side of your business, can be done from the comfort of your home. This is an additional A+ for a small business owner such as myself. FNB assists you with free training on how to use their accounting software. From a foreigner's point of view, if you are thinking of emigratting to South Africa then this bank will be the most suited for you. It has an exceptional Forex department and the savings possibilities worth a look. This bank continues to better itself and it truly serves you!

“Return my 1000”

Today is day 13 trying to get my money from fnb. All I get is empty promises. Let alone that you kept my 1000 for a month knowing that I don't owe you but the car was fully paid 2021. I am struggling at home while you sleep with your tummies full. I swear I am canceling every business I have with FNB. I can't bank with the service provider that doesn't respect me. Thanks God my Std bank account still exists, I never Closed when shifted to the devil fnb. I am not going to follow you again myself now but I will make sure I tarnished you wherever I go. I will use all the chance I get. Yes you will pay my 1000 even after a year. Its mine not yours Service

“Takes more than 5 working days to settle loan account”

Im very disappointment with Ernest from Greenstone branch for lack of service. The reason I moved away from FNB. Even after the move, Im trying this whole week to settle a revolving loan. Went into the bank on Monday morning at 9am. They are closed as their generator is not working. Returned around 11am, discussed my request with Ernest to settle the loan and close the account - funds already transferred into the account. He told me to send a letter through to request which I did later around 2pm. Friday evening the loan is still not resolved and more fees are just being charged, as this is now running over month end. Five working days and it is still not settled and closed. On Thursday when I followed up with Ernest, i just received a response "Kindly note your request is with our loan team". Terrible service and I would not recommend FNB business banking. Even though there is a settle option on my banking profile, it gives me an error every time I try, and deducts fees. Service

“Amazing FNB Teller”

Fnb Tygervalley Fnb Tygervalley Teller 2 Karen What an amazing experience. I have never had a teller be so helpful and provide such amazing advice to clients. We saved R650.00 due to the good advice. Tellers should have the experience and knowledge Karen has. Thanks Karen, please keep up the amazing work. Service Value Quality

“Not happy with Fnb bank,”

I have a loan with fnb and their rate is going up every month. I know I'm on variable rate but the amount is going up and fnb can't even help me to a fix rate as its expensive to pay this bond Service Value Quality

“HOW FNB LEFT ME STRANDED IN VIETNAM”

I was living and working in Vietnam and my accounts were blocked unexpectedly and without notification. I had no access to funds and the only option I had left to survive was to suspend my business in Vietnam to gain access to my foreign capital investment. I tried by all means possible to get the situation resolved but I was too late to do anything more and I could not even buy a flight ticket to come back to South Africa. After suffering hardship for three weeks while I followed the process to suspend my business, I submitted a claim for the severe losses that occurred as a direct result of their negligence, FNB's attitude was to brush me aside and blaming the cause of the incident on me and refusing to take any responsibility. I have since returned to South Africa, submitted a complaint to the Banking Ombudsman and it has been 141 days since the incident without resolution. My accounts unblocked automatically when the new year started but FNB's dismissive stance continues. I was also inadvertently copied on an internal email that FNB conducted, indicating very poor consideration for me as their client and also the entire process of how the rejection of my claim was conjured up.

“Terminated fnb my account unnecessary”

Hi fnb is not good bank sum one reported my account for fraud I have provided them all supporting documents they requested and after they Bongani.Ndembe and Jade Abrahams ask me two year transaction history I provided then and they still terminated my account I was using my business account past 7 years i want fnb to step in investigate and open my account again coz I didn't do any thing wrong in my account even fnb ask me from day one I open my account I can provide them each transaction history why and where I get the money I am requesting again fnb open my account again if they do not open I will review then till fnb get back to me and tel me why they can not open coz. For fnb make creminal like I do fraud I have almost 700k rand in my account they transfer to my other bank account please get back to me fnb must short my issue it's look like people working in fnb they dnt do work I will b waiting for fnb

“Fnb are crooks in suit”

Fnb are the worst crooks ever, they are crooks in suits and they are benefiting from the poor. 2 years ago i lost my job and my policies tried debiting my account but due to being unemployed the ended up lapsing and in all of that fnb was benefiting because every a policy returns unpaid they charged R115 plus service fee, when i got my job again after 6 months i owed fnb about R3000 mind you policies lapsed but in all of that fnb gained money. A week ago i had to bury a family member from my own pockets fnb is still gaining because some policies returned unpaid any yet fnb managed to gain about R560. What makes this worse is that its one of their funeral policy that returned unpaid after they tried to deduct money after the 25th after our agreed upon date is the 25th of every month unless it falls on a public holiday, their policy tried to debit 3 times when i never agreed that they could do that. All my debit orders i chose the 25th which is the day i get paid so that they could debit my account intantly, insted they do that later on, and when there is no money fnb gains R115? Why are we not told about those hidden fees when you open an account? R115 its not a hidden fee, its extortion. Instead of releaving your client's in times of need you extort them, instead of helping your clients, you sink them further... For those who are wealthy you are the best bank ever but for who are trying to make ends meet you are the destroyer, the extorter, Service Value Quality

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
