Terrible service. For some reason they haven't updated the backend to the site so when you type in "express return policy" in google it comes back with "60 days". When I went to return some shoes within the 60 day policy they let me know they couldnt take them back because it was past 30 days... Lady at the Nashville store was rude. Lady with customer support was even worse. You've lost a customer.
I have been an express customer and credit card holder for years. I was very surprised to learn that the return policy has now changed to 30 days. Unfortunately, I was not aware of the change and unable to return or receive a store credit for an item that was purchased less than two month ago. I contacted express customer service but no exceptions made even after speaking to a supervisor I would’ve thought that express would be more interested in improving and keeping a positive customer service experience by honoring a one time return and maintaining a customer who would continue to shop at their store Express lost a customer and I will be closing my credit card
I bought a shirt from Express.com a couple weeks ago. When it arrived, I really liked it until I noticed a string of tiny holes across the front of the shirt. When I tried to request an exchange or refund from Express.com, I was told the shirt came from UpWest and they directed me to them. Horrific customer servicePlease note that return policy is 30 days from the date items are SHIPPEDIt doesn’t matter how delayed the item is in getting to you, they will not make any exceptions. To make matters worse, their chat assistants lie. When I told her I was going to write a poor review, she said that she was in fact able to create a return label for my shipment. This was actually false, but I did not realize it at the time.

An order was placed fraudulently using my account using Klarna. I spoke with customer service with a lady named Jessica or Jennifer and firstly they lied to me and told me they cancelled the order. The very next day I received an email saying the order had shipped. I then spoke with the manger named Joshua. Joshua was not helpful in the slightest, as he then told me do not file a dispute with my bank, did not acknowledge that the company lied to me the first time and will not give me a return label. He additionally said they cannot reach out to Klarna, and could not stop the package from being delivered. I am still waiting on a call back and I have not received any information yet. I intend to now file a dispute with my bank because Express has been useless and full of lies and incompetence.
Express in the Galleria mall is the worst store you can shop. Their customer service sucks.One of the workers named Ali he is rude, Disrespectful, has no customer service. As long as this guy Ali is working there I am done with Express.
This was the worst online/ in-store experience ever!! I was trying to make an online order and mine & my husband cards were not going through. I even tried placing a phone order same thing. My bank stated that all members of my financial institution were blocked from making purchases at express.com because of too many fraud cases. I then stupidly went to place an order in the store and the manager & associate couldn’t provide me a receipt for my purchase which were being shipped to my home. I asked for a confirmation number or emailed receipt which they couldn’t provide either. I then called the customer service phone while I was still at the store and they said my order was canceled!! And they couldn’t provide me with any proof of the cancellation either, after we verified my email like 10 times. All the while the employees were looking at me like I was a crazy person for requesting some kind of documentation for the order they placed for me. The money was withdrawn from my account. Now I have to call my bank and explain this embarrassing situation to them after they warned me about the fraud. DO NOT SHOP WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!! Save your the stress & embarrassment.
They've been going down hill for several years now and now they won't even accept their own gift cards. They've now lost a loyal customer from me and I ended up checking out with a $160 cart instead of $300 because they wouldn't honor a $25 gift card. Despite the fact that the card says right on it that there's no expiration date and that the card can be used on express.com, they've apparently decided effective May 1, 2024 that gift cards can only be used in-store.
I received a giftcard (which expressly states that it can be redeemed at Express.com), but when going to checkout it says that giftcards can only be redeemed in-store. This is a ridiculous policy and should be repealed ASAP.
I wish there was a start lower than 1. THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE!!!! I had never experienced such a crazy customer service like from express. Please don't purchase anything online or in store, thinking I will return it. I purchased 3 items and paid around d $800 which one of them was a wrong size. (By the way they sent me a wrong size). Don’t buy a gift card from express, they no longer except their own store gift cards, So anyone that has received one for a gift you are unable to use for online purchases Spoke to customer service even spoke to supervisor and she admitted that what they are doing is not right and forcing people to drive to the store and make purchases. I don’t know what happened to this store. Quality used to be on point. The portofino shirts I used to buy that were stellar quality are now thin, wrinkled junk. Customer service is useless - they always have wrong info, send you on a wild goose chase and cannot seem to understand basic requests for returns, send incorrect labels and packing slips and then tell you they never received even though I have an email stating it was received. They close all their stores and then charge a return shipping fee. This store is not worth it anymore. Plenty of other clothing options to choose from.

Was unaware that Express changed their 60 day return to 30 days. Of course they have no sign in store or tell you when they give you your receipt that things have changed. I went in one month and four days to exchange some thing that had an odd fit. I believe it's actually was a manufactures defective shirt. Manager at store was useless. My Wife shops early for Christmas, she bought me shoes that weren’t my style, we went to express to return them but we are passed the 60 day mark and they told us we can’t return or even get a store credit . I planned on getting something else. Even after being a loyal costumer for more than 7 years, and being an A list customer who spends a good amount money there. If you're from Canada, beware! My first purchase went without a hitch in August. I just attempted a second order and it turns out they are now charging a new 82$ USD international processing fee on my "free shipping" order. If I hadn't paid attention I would have missed it! FALSE CARD CHARGES: All Express customers need to remove their cards from their accounts due to fraudulent orders and charges being placed. 17 N State St, Chicago, IL 60602- This store is unethical, they are most likely stealing customers information and charging to their cards. They do not scan order confirmation upon pick up, they falsely claimed Xavier Johnson's name is on my account (no one is on my account besides me) and allowed him to pick up $500 worth of clothing with no I.D. or order confirmation bar code they were suppose to verify with. They even went as far as to tell me cameras did not show the area of where people pick up merchandise. This store deserves an investigation into its employees.

“Terrible customer service”
God forbid you make a mistake on your order. I needed to changed the shipping address after I ordered my clothes and they wouldn't let me change the address and the order hadn't even been processed. All because I called 40 minutes after and not under 30 minutes after I made the order. What kind of rule is that? So not only could I not get my clothes, I didn't get a refund either and I'm out $80. They said take it up with the delivery service, even though THEY wouldn't let me change my address. I've shopped here for the last 15 years and I'm absolutely done. “Things have gone downhill for Express”
Express offers great styles, and if you wait for sales, the prices are reasonable too. But lately, things seem to have gone downhill with the brand. I had multiple in-store experiences where the store seemed seriously understaffed and they had teenagers (the manager's kids maybe?) helping. They didn't seem to be trained and had no clue what they were doing, so I doubt they were paid staff. I also ordered items online that I planned to pick up in the store, which were never prepared for me. I got an email confirmation that the items are ready for pickup, yet when I went to the store, the staff claimed that they never got my order. The store was in an incredible disarray, so my guess is that they were just too overwhelmed to deal with online orders. I am also having issues receiving a refund for items I returned weeks ago. The in-store staff member handling the return seemed very confused about the process, so he probably messed up something. Now I keep contacting customer service to get that refund and they keep telling me to wait because refunds take time. Today, three weeks in, they finally confirmed that the refund was never initiated and they will initiate it now, but I still have to wait another week and a half before I get my money back... if I get my money back. “Why is their website so bad?”
I have shopped with Express for years. More in the past than as of recently just due to the fact that I started to struggle finding styles I liked there when in the past it was my go-to. However, that isn't even the issue. The website is terrible. It spins relentlessly when trying to load all of the items and backtracks you to items you have already seen. This happens both on the computer as well as mobile app. Additionally, trying to purchase with Paypal even though it is an available option on the site is an exercise in futility. Along with trying to locate your rewards points available even when they were just there on the screen! Poof! Gone! Currently sitting with more than $200 worth of merchandise in my cart while the system spins and spins and won't let me past the order review stage b/c it refuses to recognize that I am paying with Paypal. The designers for Express have really changed the styles that I cannot order anything but solid black t-shirts and underwear. I wouldn't bother going to the Express store in The Firewheel Mall in Garland, TX. On one of the tables with the pull out drawers were a mess, pants everywhere unfolded and crumpled up, same with the clearance. All of the associates working at the time were rude and unhelpful. I purchased a suit from Express Clothing in Roosevelt Field mall in Westbury/ Garden City NY as a gift. So I removed the tags and boxed it as a gift. I attempted to purchase several items from their website, and after several attempts, I was unsuccessful. The first attempt, they cancelled all my items almost immediately after purchase. After calling customer service I was told that I ordered too many items at once and was asked to try again making sure I ordered less items. I attempted a second time, placing two separate orders and again, both orders got cancelled almost immediately. I called customer service a second time and was told that my orders were cancelled because the email and billing addressed provided during checkout did not match the baking institution.
