efax.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives efax.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 90.9. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 90.9 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to efax.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning efax.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between efax.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of efax.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of efax.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. efax.com is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether efax.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether efax.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, efax.com.

“Unbelievable”
I use this service once a month because I am a doctor dealing with out-of-date insurance companies that require use of fax. In addiition to my monthly fee, efax charged me $10 for sending a fax today. They did this last month and I let it go, but no more... are they small-amount thieves? What's the fee for? Of course, the chat-option is not responding and those on the phone hang up even before they say hello... how awfull customer service! Anyone recommends an ethical fax service? Thank you. Service Value
“Simply the worst”
I started with Efax in 2012. The customer service was great. If I had any problems they were responsive, courteous and helpful. I had my service cancelled in March and they claim it was due to a lack of payment. They told me to call my bank and my bank confirmed that my card is active and there is no block on the automatic payment and there was no rejected payment. They encouraged me to call Efax and they said I needed to call my bank or use a different credit card. When I explained I was worried I would have the same issue if the other card was active and rejected. The sales person put me on mute without saying he was doing so. I stayed on for 15 minutes thinking he was checking with someone, but he was just passive aggressively putting me on hold. I would have been willing to sign up using a bank routing number but I was told that was not possible either. I am guessing by reviews and my latest experience with them they are owned by another company now. Service Value Quality
“Easy fax anywhere, Excellent support”
I do like efax because it lets me have a unique fax number where I travel. I have access to both incoming and outgoing faxes where I have internet (even in the middle of a flight). The pricing is good enough for such a service. Their team are so supportive and nice whenever you need them. Service Value Quality
“Frauds only have it one star cause I was forced to, the same way they are forcing me to stay”
Used one time and have reached out for several months in every way they suggest and still am getting charged 4 months in a row for an account I can't even log into after the first fax. They are frauds and will come under this post and say that's not what they want you to experience but they won't even help with the issue. I've been begging them to cancel and the customer support is just as bad as the service Service Value Returns Quality
“SUBSCRIPTION FRAUDS!”
Tried their service, received one fax, tried to cancel, tried to contact customer service and no reply. Got charged $18.99 on my credit card, what a bunch of rip off thieves. Stay clear and do not use unless you want your money stolen. Hate sleaze ball companies that so underhanded! Tip for consumers:Company promises free trial and lies. They are a scam! Products used:Received one fax! Service Value Quality
“Worst customer service ever! Rude!”
Chatted with customer agent name "kristin" to fix some account issue. She/he ended the chat without asking if i have any other questions. I started another chat, it was she/he again. Ended the chat again after answering my 1st question. Worst customer service ever! Won't use their service when current plan ends. Service Value
“Easy to setup, no hidden charges”
It was a relief using efax after trying it's top competitor. It is user friendly, easy to set up, no scamming "Free Trial" with charging on the spot like it's top competitor. The faxing was easy and the instructions were clear and specific. The fax was completed in less then 3 minutes a sent confirmation was delivered to my email. Highly recommended Tip for consumers:reliable, user-friendly, sent confirmation delivery thru email Products used:fax app Service Value Quality
“RIP OFF!”
They offer a free 14 day trial. I had one fax to send. Really, who faxes anymore. It took 20 minutes for the fax to go through. Once it did, I canceled the subscription. 7 weeks later, I got charged $18.99. I called and was told that I am mistaken because I would have received a cancellation notice which I did not. I was told their systems are infallible and there is no way they could have made a mistake and the charges stand. I told them I am feeling ripped off, but no luck. The rip off was in place and they would not return my money. They sent me a manual cancellation notice. Funny they didn't wait for the automatic this time. BEWARE if you need to use this company and be on watch for the "no notice rip off"! Tip for consumers:BEWARE! Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“B E W A R E”
I canceled my trial because only 1 page fax was free. Only to be charged 18.99 end f trial. They did refund the money but they are not ethical. Called long wait they are busy to get right thru. Several innecessary prompts. Instructed to use chat but there is non. Too many misleading items along the way for me to ever trust them again. Tip for consumers:Just go to the UPS Store it's easier. Products used:Nothing Service Value Returns Quality
“Excellent service”
I had to contact eFax regarding our subscription and was expecting a long wait, but it was answered very quickly by Elizabeth V. Elizabeth was very helpful and polite and went above board to be helpful and accommodating. I would definitely recommend eFax
“Scam”
I never used the service. It is very difficult to figure out how to cancel. The company refused any refund. Do not sign up! Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Fast and effective”
The services seems to run into problems from time to time, but the representatives are willing and able to deal with the issues quickly and efficiently. Thank you Nicoleta L. - eFax Customer Service Advisor.
“I was charged twice!”
I first started using eFax on a free 7 day trial through their app. Well this company charged me $18.99 before the 7 days were up! I couldn't cancel my subscription on the app store and later found out I had to do it through their website. On top of that, I was charged an additional $10 because they said my faxes took long to be delivered! I never heard of a fax subscription that charges extra money because the faxes take long to be delivered. I am disputing this with my bank, I don't have time time to be going back and forth with a dishonest company! SMH Service Value Quality
“Good Software”
Great software. Had an issue with customer service at one point, but it was resolved to my satisfaction and I greatly appreciated the effort they put in after the fact. We do not need this service anymore, but we would likely use again if ever needed. Tip for consumers:Shady sales tactics and unprofessional customer service. Trust us when we say there are much better faxing services out there. Service Value Returns Quality
“Great support service”
The support service was very active for giving me back up to solve my issue and explain me how it works. I finally could send my fax simply through my email address and got notification once it successfully sent. Thanks again to Paul his help. Service Value Returns Quality
“If you need a fax solution, they are a good bet”
If you need a fax solution, they are a good bet. Reliable service, fax numbers in every city, and in/outbound faxes directly from your PC. I've heard there can be problems cancelling service, but I haven't had to do that yet.
“$#*!ty customer service”
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Worst customer service ever. They won't take cancellations online nor via email. You have to call a long distance number. No 1-800 of course. And they will make you hold 15 minutes. They claimed they respond to my emails when they don't. I wish there was a class action lawsuit against them.
“RIP OFF!”
Never use eFax.! It's rip off. I just tried out and they charge me $18.99 And I canceled it because to expensive. But, they charged me $42.99 And they said the cancelation wasn't effect. WOW. Now I know how they make money. Tip for consumers:just wanted to test out and I got charged over $60. Products used:simple test fax. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Horrible Company”
Like many here my experience with EFax was awful. I signed up in June of 2014. Cancelled that same month after never using the service. They continued to bill the CC until the Card was finally dropped this past month. Then I went through virtual hell trying to get an refund (forget that) and even just have a clean cancellation. Over $200 spent for nothing and over an hour on the phone to try get the account cancelled. They refused to email post me the cancellation information. Honestly, I do not believe they really cancelled the account and for my own reference the cancellation number they verbally gave me is *******. Seriously folks, stay away from this company!
“STAY AWAY!”
Charged 96.95 for one month of faxing less than 150 pages. Their posted rate structure allows 150 free faxes for 16.95 per month but in the fine print of their customer agreement page is an alternate pricing structure based on time that their machines work to fax the documents. Total scam by an unethical business, you are at their mercy for the charges they create and take from your account.
“Horrible customer service, Billing is a mess and they threaten to send you to collections”
Just don't waste your time with eFax. We were charged an outrageous amount for 1 fax line, when we called to understand why were were charged so much for a service we were not using, it was a game of phone tree and not a single customer service person could answer our questions, just told us that is what we owe and we are overdue. We were contacted by a "Finance Business Analyst" who sent us a screen shot of an excel spreadsheet, telling us we we are overdue by a year, but yet we never received any statements that total the amount he was telling us to pay. When we emailed him back to request a proper statement, ZERO response, then he sent a "Second Notice" - "If we do not hear from you soon, there is a possibility of escalated collection efforts. We want to avoid any interruption in services for non-payment. If you have any questions, invoice issues or concerns, please email me back at the address you received this notification from". All of which we did, multiple times and received ZERO response from him. Save yourself a lot of money, time and frustration, find another solution. Products used:eFax / Consensus Cloud Solutions Service Value Quality
“Small law office... very disappointed with eFax service.”
Their customer service is horrible. Can't get anyone on the phone... and good luck with their AI bot chat via their web-site. We're taking our business elsewhere after several years with eFax. Not the same Co they used to be by any stretch of the imagination. They charge our firm credit card and get paid, yet lately when our clients send faxes to us, they get nothing but a busy signal on their end. Very unprofessional looking for any business. And no one is available to help resolve the problem. Tip for consumers:no one around when their's a problem with their service ... and problems seem to be more and more. Products used:efax Service Value Quality
“Can Cancel without logging and or calling”
This Business will not process cancellations unless you call them or go to their website and do it via customer service - from 6 to 6 PST. So you are unable to do it by logging into your account. Go figure. I bet when I call them they will give me a hard time even after they have charged my credit card. When I need faxing again, I'll choose someone else. Margaret W
“Hi, I was also using efax before, but after getting...”
Hi, I was also using efax before, but after getting these scam letters, i decided to move to Popfax online fax, and I am pretty happy with them. I have never gotten any scams, or fake emails. They seem to be very professional.
“Company is a total load of crap”
Company is a total load of crap. I tried to start a free account with them and had to provide credit card info. Figuring this was for too may pages or other extras, I gave it to them. MISTAKE! They billed me for "Efax plus" which cost $27: $10 activation fee and $16.95 for the first month. None of this was apparent, but it was in the contract details, and they do not refund a penny. Don't ever use them. Service Value Returns Quality

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies this service works and is trustworthy. It costs only $6.49/month but is worth the cost. U.S., UK, EU, Swiss, and Canadian residents only. Click below.
