Is ecwid.com Legit?

I started using this platform in October 2023 and I'm very pleased. It was easy to set up with the step by step prompts to get my e-commerce store up and running. The built in response tools for orders, payments and overall customer service are excellent and I wound recommend this platform to anyone who would like to start an online business!

I subscribed to Ecwid with the guarantee of a smooth integration with Google Sites. Unfortunately, that promise couldn’t have been further from the truth. Even after upgrading to the Business Plan, the integration has been plagued with glitches that persist to this day.Customer support was slow, inconsistent, and unprofessional. I had to send the same information multiple times (including detailed tests from programmers), yet the issues remain unresolved. At one point, they claimed to have fixed the problem, but they hadn’t. When I pointed this out—as they insisted I provide feedback—the situation became even more frustrating.Their technical team eventually passed me off to management, where I was addressed as "Jason" (which is not my name) and treated as if my issue involved a GoDaddy website instead of a Google Site. While the root issue might be similar for both, this sloppy, careless response shows a complete lack of professionalism and respect for a paying customer who has been nothing but patient despite constant disappointment.Under consumer protection laws, such as the principle of fitness for purpose and the implied duty to provide services with reasonable care and skill, Ecwid has failed on both counts. The service has not worked as advertised, and their lack of proper support has compounded the issue. Additionally, the misrepresentation of the product’s capabilities—guaranteeing a "smooth integration" that never materialized—further underscores their liability.Given these failures, I believe monetary compensation is warranted for the time, money, and patience I’ve wasted on a service that did not deliver on its promises. Paying for a higher-tier plan only to face unresolved issues and inadequate support is unacceptable.As soon as I’m able, I’ll be switching to Shopify.

Ecwid is not just a shopping cart but a full system including website backed up by a helpful team. We had a specific courier company we wanted to use and Ecwid met my needs with an integrated Api. The team worked to solve the problem. The shopping cart is modern and user friendly along with the website builder. Ecwid provide regular video updates and newsletters so you know what is going on behind the scenes and what to expect with cart updates.

I have a website where I sell products and the platform it provided by ECWID. Sadly for the past 12 months I have been battling with ECWID support team because their platform has a long standing defect that prevents my products from being indexed on google search console. This is costing my business huge amounts of lost revenue and all I get from them is we're working on fixing the issue but they cannot provide any timescales. This has been going on now for 12 months and they offer me no compensation, and still had the cheek to put the subscription costs up.If you're thinking of building a web site to sell products I'd stay clear of ECWID,

Ecwid is great.I was helped immediately when asked for assistance and they even gave me 1 free month membership after I paid for a year service.Unlike other companies Ecwid seems to really care about their clients and I feel more accepted than tolerated, also they do not push this radical far left wing agenda on their social media which other providers do.They are professional, friendly and a great alternative to Shopify Great job Ecwid!MAGA !!

Developer here, established, some large Ecommerce clients... I wanted to look at this product, I've historically been a fan of Lightspeed so this was extremely interesting to me, I am actively looking for headless options... They would even give me a trial. How are you meant to assess something without a trial? I wanted to try 2 features based on the membership system, which is in one of the higher packages. And they said, "We don't have free trials, I am sorry about that.".It's a shame, as the software genuinely looks good, just shocked their customer service doesn't match that of Lightspeed

I moved my e-commerce platform from the cumbersome and outdated woocommerce\ WordPress combo to Ecwid\ NexLvL CRM combo & I've never looked back!I looked at all the major e-commerce platforms on the market and Ecwid is by far the best featured for the price and it has the most incredible support team & help documentation on the market! They always respond quickly to support requests. I also find the set up super easy. I know they are a local initiative and I want to support them for that as well.

Sudden increase less than 2months with too many restrictions for a £30 per month e-commerce platformI have a store with Shopify and I pay £25 monthly with more e-commerce solutions Eg being able to send recovery emails for abandoned cart, templates for promotion emails , live chats with customers and more I plan to move my store soon .

Ecwid is a good platform but in many cases the pricing is unbalanced. Certain basic features are kept from the venture plan that shouldn’t be and I had trouble in the past because of such a decision. But what made me submit this review is that they have suddenly increased the price of the venture plan (and I assume the other ones) by a huge amount.

DONT USE STAY AWAYStay away, they will close your website without giving you any notice or any reasons , causing financial damage , defamation and denigration they’ll support. It’s absolutely useless as I sent 2 emails , and nobody answered yet . I had orders on my website which were dispatched to my customers and because they closed my website the customers got scared and asked me for a refund leaving me out the money and without the product because it’s already on the way to the customer but ECWID won’t care about this all they want is to ruin fresh businessesI will give them -10 starts but that option it’s not available unfortunately

I am very happy with the website, works perfectly, it is quite simple and easy to use, for clients to navigate also. I made it to look very professional ( according to people that know me) and it wasn’t difficult. I would again choose Ecwid.

Ecwid is easy to use and keeps me informed. Payments are processed, and I am immediately notified of the transaction. I can then easily print the purchaser details and mail product the same day. Fees are very reasonable, and assistance is easy to obtain. I've never had an issue with Ecwid, and would recommend anyone looking for an e-commerce solution to use Ecwid. I have used Ecwid for over three years.

Edit 2022: STILL NO SUPPORT - Beware UK sellers using Ecwid. This eCommerce platform charges VAT on Royal Mail for deliveries from the UK and to anywhere else using Royal Mail. This is completely incorrect - Royal Mail is a flat fee. You can't even recover the funds to return to the customer. This is poor for UK sellers, which makes think - are Ecwid committing HMRC VAT or tax fraud in the UK?

I've recently signed up with Ecwid and I'm truly amazed how easy it is to set up a store. I like the mobile app even though it's paid. The support has been great too, probably the best I've ever had. I've just started working on marketing so I haven't seen all the features but social media integrations look very interesting. Definitely recommend Ecwid to anyone looking for a reliable online store builder.

Ecwid has managed to make e-commerce so terribly limited and complicated. It is incomplete, and functions that should be given are not available. I have built 100+ e-commerce sites myself, but even so, with every new process I have to contact their customer service, it is however very good, nice and helpful which deserves the stars I give.

A company scammed me $9000 using ecwid name… your so big company and you dont know someone is using your name website showing that you belongs to them Kindly enquiry about this website so people like me cant be robbed and hopefully i recovered my moneyI have their website link which i cant prove it here due to trustpilot privacy

I'm loving Ecwid - been using the Business package as my ecommerce platform for 4 years now and I couldn't be happier. Such good value for money and I can do all the store setup and maintenance myself. No need for an expensive consultant.

Approximately three months ago, I began utilizing Ecwid. I found the platform to be user-friendly and straightforward to navigate, despite my limited computer literacy. The ability to establish an online store where customers can make purchases and have the funds directly deposited into my bank account represents a significant personal accomplishment. I highly recommend Ecwid to anyone new to e-commerce. I rate it five stars.

I have had the best experience with Ecwid. I needed a simple store to sell my bracelets on and while this is primarily a way to add a shopping cart to your already designed site, they also offer a really simple site template you can use. Much better deal than Shopify and also more user-friendly. Their customer support is also phenomenal. Great apps and integrations for email, chat and shipping. Every time an order comes in I'm thankful that Ecwid is the platform I'm using.
