- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning consumercellular.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between consumercellular.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of consumercellular.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of consumercellular.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. consumercellular.com is likely a safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Fast and easy, especially compared to walking into a cell phone store. Consumer Cellular has a minimal selection of phones, but they have a few phones in every price range & type. From flip phones to iPhones, under $100. to just under $1,000. My cell phone company for 14 years and always a good phone buying experiences.
Arrived quickly and setup was relatively easy. I ordered a SIM for a hotspot and it works well once I figured out that I had to turn on cellular roaming because CC works off of AT&T towers in my area.
Ordering on consumer cellular website was easy and fast. The delivery service was on time and sooner than I expected! Setting up the new iPhone was easier than expected following the prompts. I am so happy with my purchase from the first step to the very end!
I've been trying and trying to set up my new phone, I called to get it activated, I followed all the phone prompts on my new phone and still no cell service and nothing pulled over from my old phone. I called last night they activated the sim they said to turn off for 1 hour and turn back on still nothing. The phone continues to say SOS no cell service.
I got my order but I’m a little upset because I paid $35 for a next day delivery of 1-2 business days and I placed my order Oct17 and I got my order October 22. I don’t think it’s fair that I got my order late and paid for rapid shipping.
I ordered a replacement phone from Consumer Cellular to replace an outdated phone. Unfortunately, Consumer Cellular made the choice to utilize the USPS to deliver my new phone. My new phone, which I paid for in advance, was lost by the USPS and did not arrive at my residence. Consumer Cellular, in an effort to make the transition easier for me, scheduled a deactivation of my esim card anticipating the timely arrival of my new phone. As a result, I lost my telephone service abruptly and in an untimely manner. When I contacted Kimberly from Consumer Cellular customer service, she patiently (despite my highly unhappy demeaner) worked to reestablish phone service to the cell phone currently in my possession. I still don't have my new phone but my old phone was brought back on line.
Used your website, not very user friendly. Also big difference when buying a phone from the retailer and website, costs a bit more when you purchase from your site
"What is this company doing well?" Everything, it seems like. The simple, straightforward bills stand out. And customer service has always been a pleasure to work with. The fact that one gets to talk to a real person is a huge, potentially underappreciated plus (as opposed to pushing button after button after button, only to land on a dead end and not get the help needed at all).
They were always helpful either on the phone or online chat. My purchase went well, phone arrived i a timely manner and I was able to set it up without difficulty.
My mother told me about the AARP discount thru Consumer Cellular, I had been struggling to get any sort of cooperation thru my provider at the time. I hadn't been able to make phone calls for over 6 months, they always dropped, or no service, or they couldn't hear me, it was always something. In a matter of minutes, I reached out to C.C.'s website, chose my device, plan, paid an EXTREMELY REASONABLE start up cost, and I crossed my fingers. In 2 days, my device arrived, I followed directions and...TAH DAH!! Thank you consumer cellular!! Y'all are amazing! So glad I switched!!
Carrying the latest phones, both iOS and Android models, though no Google Pixels? I like having Easy Pay at 0% interest for 24 months for more expensive phones. I also like having USA customer support.
Very easy to order and all contacts were extremely helpful and very courteous. The only surprise was the charge for delivery (on a $900 purchase) and that it came by USPS who just put on front porch and did a not require a signature - paid for express delivery to assure fast delivery which it did arrive within 2 days but a rather expensive item to just be brought to front porch and left for anyone to pick up????
Delivery was great. I had to call in for activation of the eSIM and didn’t have a long wait time to talk to a representative which is a big plus.
My experience wasn't that great. Didn't have a cell phone for almost 2 days because the instruction from the recorded message for the download of the eSim card were not clear. I ended up having to facetime my sister while she got on the phone with customer service and then was able to have the esim installed. Also, had I been told that there was no "c" block to plug the phone recharge cord into, I could have bought one. Phone was almost @ 0% before I was able to find out what kind of block I needed. Received my phone on Friday afternoon and it wasn't fully functional until the following Monday. Also, there were no instructions on how to turn the phone off. Actually there was a myriad of things that made this experience pretty bad. I would have to say the experience was pretty bad because of unclear instruction.
I was needing a new phone because of age and been with Consumer Cellular for several years because of the great service. So I went shopping on CC and found the I phone 16 and ordered it. I called CC for getting it set up and the person that helped was a very nice spokesperson who helped me with the setup and I'm very pleased with my new phone/ Thanks CC
I had trouble setting my phone up. Consumer Cellular was NO help. This is highly unusual. They have always given help when I need it. I am not tech savvy, one of the main reasons I stay with consumer cellular.NOT so this time.
Bought a beautiful new Moto Edge 2024 for a very reasonable price and it was delivered quickly (4 days) and I'm loving it. I do wish CC would offer more cases and accessories like they used to. It would have been nice to get my phone and the case at the same time and place. Just the same, I love my new phone!
CC did a great job. Not so for USPS. Scheduled delivery was 10-18-24. Package arrived 25 Miles away at 9:19 AM that day but was not delivered until 4PM the next day. I heard the sound of a package DROPPED at my front door from 2 rooms away. The report said GIVEN to an individual and"The item was signed for by H KANTROWITZ." That did not happen. BOGUS
My new phone was delivered very quickly, but I was surprised that it was just left in my garage, where anyone could have taken it. I expected someone to require my signature.
Ordering a new phone and setting up a third line was so simple I thought I’d done something wrong. Received new phone in four days and was set up and making using phone in 15 minutes. Fantastic! I love Consumer Cellular!

“Go Somewhere Else”
Recently I tried to change from Verizon to Consumer Cellular. Unfortunately they do not have a store in my state so I called their Customer Service Number. First off they make you pay upfront $10 to have a SIM card mailed to you. With first class mail this tiny card could have been mailed for under one dollar. On the phone the person told me that my paid off iPhone would be able to be used to transfer to Consumer Cellular. No it couldn't when I tried. On the phone the second or was it the third Consumer Cellular employee suggested that I just purchase another iPhone. Wait you want me to spend around another $1,000 dollars so I can get cheaper (and now I wonder if it is is even better or equivalent cell phone service to what I have now) just to change to Consumer Cellular. No go somewhere else. Tip for consumers:Go elsewhere. So disappointed as this was a big deal for me to change to another carrier. Products used:Did not change because everything they said about easily bringing your present phone was a lie! Service Value Shipping
“Avoid this company!”
Been with this company for at least a few years, had mediocre flip phones that usually broke after 6 months to a year of use on average. This past August I purchased a smartphone that kept randomly shutting down apps like GPS while I was using them. First CC tech support told me to "uninstall/reinstall Google Maps," an impossibility since it's a Google app and the only options offered are "Stop" and "Disable." Then they told me, "Well your phone is defective but you can return it to the place of purchase for up to a year for a replacement." Not true, Target has an extremely limited warranty and would not accept the return. I shut down my CC account in October and they're now after me for $74.31 plus a late fee. I complained to the BBB and the response from CC was very unsympathetic. Insisting on collecting that final bill, and no offer to compensate for the defective phone (which cost almost $100.00). I don't recommend this company at all. Products used:Iris Connect Smartphone Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Horrible Customer Service”
I purchased my 86 year old mother a new phone and had her service transferred from another carrier to Consumer Cellular. When the account was setup I requested both our names be added to the account because we live in different cities and I am responsible for handling any and all issues with the phone/account. The night the account was setup they assured me this was done and I would have full access to her account. Fast forward to today and there is an issue with her account and I call Customer Service and they tell me that they cannot speak with me because my name is not on the account even though when she receives her bill each month the bill arrives with my name on it and not hers. I requested to speak with a manager/supervisor and the individual I was speaking with refused to allow me to speak with anyone else. My mother is in the early stages of dementia and doesn't fully understand the issue or the need to call them and have me added so here we are in different cities and I now have no way to assist with these issues and Consumer Cellulars Customer Service offered nothing in the way of assistance. I will now be looking for another Service Provider so I do encourage anyone in a situation like mine to think twice before setting an elderly family member up with an account at Consumer Cellular. Service Value
“Incompetent and Dishonest”
They failed to fix my phone within the estimated time, taking 3x times longer than expected. Only after I decided to cancel my service and transfer my phone, were they able to fix my phone in order to transfer it. Twice I had to tell them that I already have sent the proper paperwork to transfer the account to my name after my wife's passing. They overcharge and withdraw money from my account after account closing and refuse to provide the proper refund to make things right. I would not recommend this company to anyone and would leave zero stars if possible. Service
“Rude and disrespectful customer service!”
I tried so hard to go back to this company but they breed angry and disrespectful people for their customer service... I don't understand how they get business. I'm done! Service
“No paper statements!”
Their electronic statements are a total waste of my time! My wife and friends agree! 2 step just to see my invoice! What a joke - Quit wasting our time and allow free paper statements!
“Call Failures”
Ported two phones from Verizon to Consumer Cellular. In 27 years with Verizon I've had probably less than five times when either I couldn't make a call or I couldn't accept incoming calls. In six weeks with Consumer Cellular, this has happened over ten times to my Wife and I. Twice worked with support who did something that was supposedly supposed to "reestablish my connection to their towers" but it did nothing. After some other interactions with CC, I came away with the thought that porting another carrier's phone doesn't really work very well, even though they are perfectly happy to take your money for doing just that. I finally had to go back to Verizon, which was actually one of the worst customer experience nightmares of my life. I could write a book about that fiasco, but this is not the time or place. “Consumer Cellular shut off my text messaging without warning”
Consumer Cellular shut off my text messaging without warning, and did NOT restore my text messaging after I called and asked them to allow me to send texts where I was promoting my business. I've been allowed to promote my business for years with other companies in this way of sending out texts with links. This is censorship that shouldn't be allowed. They would not work with me when I called them and spoke to the highest level they would allow, which wasn't as high up the chain as I asked. They only stated that if I didn't comply, they wouldn't restore my text messages. Using conservative language, I don't recommend them! Tip for consumers:Consumer Cellular shut off my text messaging without warning, and did NOT restore my text messaging after I called and asked them to allow me to send texts where I was promoting my business. I've been allowed to promote my business for years with other companies in this way of sending out texts with links. This is censorship without a concerted effort to meet my needs is unacceptable! “Worst customer service”
Tried to switch to.this company. Never received Sim card after charging me. They they start taking money from my account. No service. Customer service lies and claims i.had service they could charge foe. I asked for a statement to show the FCC. Watch them, the worst call company! Service Value Shipping
“Terrible Customer Service”
I recently needed help activating a customer's phone with Consumer Cellular. Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. The woman I spoke with seemed more interested in laughing at me and asking me personal questions than in guiding me through the activation process. It felt unprofessional and judgmental, especially since I was reaching out for assistance. Despite this, I managed to activate the phone. I hope this feedback can lead to better service for others in the future. Service Value
“How I like consumer cellular”
Buy a 30 year old flip phone from them, pay $20 to talk and text,a 1G data. Hmm 1G? That's enough to Search the web,to try and quit. The phone throw it and your 1970 tv,to try hit the stupid orange shirt guy,"boom" missed, try again. Or wait till the idiots wearing cardboard on they're backs. Really try contacting them, before you buy. And see how crappy CC is.
“It'd be ZERO if possible”
Consumer Cellular recently removed the option for me to print my detailed bill when I login online, but still thinks they should be able to pull cash out of my bank account. My chat session was disconnected mid- chat after the rep said he "sent your bill", but he didn't. All I got was a notice AGAIN the my bill was available, & I should log in. But all that show is a total amount due, not the detailed bill I've been able to get in the past.
“Consumer cellular is the worst cell phone company ever!”
From the day i talked to the first employee, i was lied to, and the lies didn't stop until i left. I was told $35 for 50mg of data, and i would NEVER reach that. I most certainly did hit it, and then they throttled it so slow my phone would time out before i got into my accounts. When you get to that point, they throw you into a higher cost plan without your permission. When i asked to speak to a supervisor for this problem, he had the gull to tell me "usually there isn't any problems, since customers my age don't usually use that much data"! WTH...I did not appreciate being profiled because of my age. I was only with Consumer Cellular for a few months, and now i'm with T-Mobile. I think i'll stay there. Products used:Monthly phone plan. “Customer Service Sucks”
Their offices close at 6:30 pm Pacific Time. If you need customer service after 6:30, you are screwed untill the next day. Of all the customer service lines I've ever called this is the only one who keeps Bankers Hours (not even a foreign service to answer after hours calls). I ordered a new IPHONE from them, received the phone Friday, today is Tuesday and the phone is still not up and running. Thinking of switching service. Tip for consumers:They have "ZERO" Customer Service after 6:30 pm Pacific Time. If you need help in the evening or on Sunday, you are just out of luck. “Defective Equipment: Verve Snap Flip Phone”
I have had two Verve Snap Flip Phones. The first phone did not keep the blue tooth connection and had to be replaced. The second Verve Snap phone, had the tool bar disappear and had to turn the phone off and back on to reset it. Then I had to take the battery out when the phone would not turn back on. Next, the Verve Snap phone lost the blue tooth connection. Consumer Cellular required a hard system reset. I backed my phone contacts onto an SD Card, removed the card and Consumer Cellular went through the hard system reset. Reinstalling the SD Card, the Verve Snap phone failed to export the contacts to the SD card. Consumer Cellular will not replace the phone with a comparable phone, just the same junk phone. Their customer service is very poor. Products used:stuck with malfunctioning Verve Snap Flip Phone Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“If they would have just been upfront and honest there wouldn't have been an issue!”
I call consumer Cellular to inquire about their cell service! I asked if we could use our current phones, and they said as long as they were unlocked from our current carrier, we could! Our phones were relatively new and didn't need new ones! After numerous hours trying to figure out why our phones wouldn't work they told us that our phones weren't compatible with their towers! WHAT! Your company told us we could use our phones as long as they were unlocked from our previous carrier! Talk to a manager they just apologized and gave me the runaround! They would not give me any kind of discount on new phones or compensate me for their mistake! I was forced to buy new phones because we had already set everything up with their SIM cards and shut off our other service! This is just crazy to me! Why couldn't they just let us know that some phones work compatible, and I would have waited until we need a new phones!
“Stay away from them. They prey on the elderly.”

“Horrendous customer service”
My cell phone had terrible reception. After years of playing my bill on time, I finally decided to switch carriers. I contacted consumer cellular and then the night mare happened. After numerous calls hours and hours weeks and weeks. I was only able to get one phone to work. As of today my wives and sons phone don't work. And they keep billing me for my account that I'm trying to cancel. The new phone carrier said it's taken 3 months to fix accounts. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. Tip for consumers:Their customer service totally sucks. Been trying to fix issues for three plus weeks. Totally horrendous. Products used:Three phone lines. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Never use Consumer Cellular”
Never Never Never Buy consumer cellular. They are good until you need a phone. They sent my mom a damaged phone and now won't return it. Cost her $495 dollars. She is out the money because you can't even resell these phones. Cost her more than she has saved for lower service cost. Their packaging is poor and they don't take responsibility for damage they caused. Tip for consumers:Don't use consumer cellular Products used:iPhone received damaged. Never used. “Crooks”
This company, Consumer Cellular has been the worst I have ever experienced, from charging extra monies for fake internet usage to shutting off my phone for a Two hundred dollar debt incurred by another individual with a similar name. This company should be shut down, they are big crooks preying on the elderly. Tip for consumers:Beware of false promises and illiterate customer service. Products used:T-Mobile after cancelling consumer cellular.
“Horrible”
Totally incompetent staff. I would truly give 0 stars if it were an option. They have no technical support. I've been hung up on and put on an indefinite hold. Is the worst experience I've ever had with cellular service. Service Value Quality
“Deteriorating Service”
I've been a user and believer in CC for many years. That has changed recently with their new SIM card. It saw my reception and bars halved. Frequent calls to Customer Service resulted in some attempted fixes and other surly, unpleasant agents. I think I'll try TMobile. I checked Verizon and their prices are ridiculous.
“How to completely loose a customer.”
While trying to switch service from Verizon to CC, reps were unable to do so leaving our phones locked for 14 days. They simply blamed it in Verizon calling them bad names. While one rep was apologetic and tried, the other ways dismissive, cavalier, and insulting. Absolutely the worst 3 hours of my life. Left the store without phone service and bitter. CC may have good rates, but they have no brick and mortar presence and sales force with little ability or concern for their customers.
“NOT FRIENDLY TO STRUGGLING SENIORS”
Consumer Cellular's rate may be low, but it is built around the principle of automatic monthly deduction. You are penalized $5 every month (not a small amount for a struggling senior) if you do not allow them to come into your bank account at a certain date and take their monthly payment. Their agents will even argue with you about use of the word "penalty," which it most certainly is. I let no entity come into my bank account as if they were entitled to it that day, no questions asked. If the money is not there they will send your account into overdraft. A senior who watches her budget carefully has to manage payments on a daily basis to make sure all vendors are paid on time. They also refused to let me pay monthly for a new device until I had built a 6 month payment history with them. What about the 50 years of payment history and my credit record? Doesn't that count for anything. Straight mercenaries... Products used:Cellphone service and new cell phone that I was graciously allowed to purchase 6 months after I had signed up..... “Smartest move I've ever made concerning phone service”
Someone told me about Consumer Cellular about 2 years ago. I was so tired of spending the ridiculous amount of money on my other service. So I tried Consumer Cellular. I'll never go back to anything else. I've nothing bad to say about this company. I have the exact same coverage as my other company gave me but for SO MUCH less. I'm saving over $100/mo without any interruptions. No dropped calls, Nothing. Highly recommend CC to anyone. Great for business too. I am a realtor so important to have a phone that always working. Are You the Owner of consumercellular.com?
If you own consumercellular.com, we’d love to hear from you. If you'd like to challenge the trust score we’ve assigned, we’re happy to take a closer look. However, please be prepared to provide solid proof of your business's legitimacy. Introduce yourself with your name (not just "Admin").
When domain owners contact us to dispute their trust score, we kindly ask for the following:
* Business documentation that verifies your legitimacy (e.g., certificate of incorporation, business registration, or official records with the site or business name).
* Your personal LinkedIn profile and the business's social media accounts (e.g., Facebook).
* If available, proof of satisfied customers (e.g., screenshots, not just testimonials on your website), evidence of inventory, or records of handling order cancellations properly.
We’re more than willing to update your review based on the evidence you provide—the more proof, the higher your trust score. Please note, however, that we cannot verify non-operational websites or those redirected to other URLs. Additionally, we do not verify websites involved in high-risk financial services, gambling, adult content, or illegal activities.
