chromecast.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives chromecast.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 84.9. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 84.9 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to chromecast.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning chromecast.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between chromecast.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of chromecast.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of chromecast.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. chromecast.com is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether chromecast.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether chromecast.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, chromecast.com.

It'll work ok for about a year. Then the batteries in the remote will start to play up. The new batteries you buy will last about a week. Pretty soon you'll be having to change batteries every day, and you'll be taking them out when not using the remote, so they'll last longer. Eventually you get to the point where brand new unopened batteries go flat as soon as you install them. My advice would be to buy anything over than Chromecast. Google obviously has contempt for their customers. Zero stars
This is a good siteI have a great experience
Everything works as should but it would be amazing if they add features like locking the remote button with maybe special gesture or hold a key for accidental click. Always have problems with clicking buttons when its been lost in bed. another issue is that is no continue waiting features in the home screen for my Crunchyroll app. Every other other streaming services have those like netflix, Amazon
Hopeless , this device stutters and crashes continually on most music tracks. I contacted google support - who were utterly useless. Kept trying to deflect blame, onto my broadband (fast fibre, 100 meg) or the router. Tried it in another house, exactly the same.Later discovered a friend's does the same. It's clearly a design problem. Don't waste your money.
Chromecast can't carry over the picture, unless it has the same internetconnection. Using a chromecast with a VPN just kills all the fun instantly. It's main function should be to mirror the same image that you are portaying, but it literally refuses. Basically, you'll get more function out of a goddamn HDMI cable than this.
The 1 gen, chromecast was very difficult to use, it had connection issues and the interface was a little clunky. The third gen is far better. They have made great improvements to the overall use of device. The design is sleek and modern, they have also added a remote which make it exceptionally easier to use. It is a great product, the price is slightly high but well worth the extra buck.
I have been using Chromecast for years with minimal issues. As of October 2022 nothing works at all. They have come out with an updated version and now none of my existing equipment works google Chromecast not casting Google hub not working. I performed trouble shooting multiple times. The only working is the updated version.
Have to restart every single time I want to use it, sometimes I even need to factory reset. Everything else works perfectly with my wifi so that is not the issue. Maybe later generation ones are worth it but under no circumstance buy a first generation chromecast
What a pity Chromecast images don't carry a location tagline. Chromcast images are great wallpaper, but like all wallpaper become insignificant. With a location tagline, Chromecast will be informative and inspiring. 'Wow, I want to go there. Where is it?'
Chromecast wouldn't link to my ROKU box as advertised. Google refused to refund it saying it was 'not our policy'. They suggested I approach the software developer which is wrong as the money had been paid to Google so they are liable under UK law. Clearly they feel they do not have to operate within the law.
Sounds quality is awful, sound is often out of sync, sometimes no sound at all. Controlling the cast using your phone is very unreliable. Google then refuse to provide a returns address and deliberately obstruct any attempt you make to return their rubbish product.
Terrible product. Buffers constantly on very fast network. I have tried every reset, update and trick I can find. At best it is slow. Often it seems completely lost.Zero customer support! They make it impossible to get service or return.I was replacing 4 year old firestick so TV would work with the Google Cameras. I have gone back to firestick and have purchased my LAST Google product!!!!!
Chromecast is crap!! it's made really difficult for no good reason, changing from one router to another is so painfull, Amazon fire better and easier to use and hp chrome is no better both are a waste oh money.
How I wish I had read the reviews on this product before purchasing. Everything about it is terrible. From connection issues, to having to do a reboot after a week or so of non use, to batteries draining empty in the remote after 3 days of little use. For something that should be seamless it is absolutely useless and Google know it. All bad. Do not buy.
Bought Chromecast to cast HD streaming video from a PC to a full-size TV on the opposite side of the same room. Set-up appears straightforward, but casting just doesn't work. Google customer support is non-existent - no telephone support available and the online support is simply an endless loop of a few stock answers.I finally discovered that the product doesn't work unless it's located within 15 metres of the router (it would be helpful is this was clear before buying!). After relocating the router the Chromecast is now 3 metres from the router which is directly beside the PC. Despite this, the presence of very high-speed broadband, and regularly rebooting Chromecast, the TV picture quality is occasionally good but normally blurry, and sound is stuttery. I have been trying for several months to get a watchable TV picture, but this product is simply not fit for purpose.
when using chromecast to send videos from youtube to my tv, as soon as the screen turns of, the video stops and i see this annoying youtube remote screen that is quite hard to use and does not relate to the videos i was watching. i sent a message to google about the issue but the ignored me (of course). the issue started 2 months ago on my blackview 9800, since yesterday on my sony xperia xz1 as well and just in case u wonder, on my laptop the same issue is happening. i can not believe how ignorant the programmers of google are. have they even checked if their crap code works? it sure doesn't look like they did. i am considering leaving youtube/chromecast/google all together and moving back to hotmail or maybe look for a less known company as a service provider. it is so sad to see how the big guys only care about money and do not even verify if their employees execute a job correctly to the users satisfaction.
Bought multiple Chromecasts from multiple generations and I've always been happy. One of the best products. An absolute essential in any home.
Absolutely useless. There is no need for it. I got suckered into buying it with the free Netflix offer. During Covid I forgot about the offer. Just received a reminder email from Google on March 8, 2022 to redeem the offer. Went to redeem it and it turns out it expired on March 1, 2022. Why the hell they would send me a reminder email after the offer expired is beyond me.Spoke to customer service who didn’t apologise and instead told me to refer to the terms and conditions when I purchased it.I also have Google home and other products and they all suck. I have to keep resetting the google home ALL the time! It’s rubbish.Learn a lesson from me and buy Alexa. They have so many more compatible apps anyway. Goodbye google. You lost me as a customer for life.
I downloaded Chromecast to use to watch 1 programme while in an AirBnB. I then cancelled it but a year subscription was taken from my account. It is a scam. Do NOT download this App. I am reporting it to the relevant authorities. Chromecast is a SCAM.
Absolutely junk. At best tricky and intricate to setup. At worst just won’t connect to wifi networks (eg hotel ones with logins). Infuriating device

“Chromecast has VERY limited support of website/media...”
Chromecast has VERY limited support of website/media streaming capability. Very easy to install, but only after installing does one discover that many streaming/video/movie sites cannot be "cast" to the TV. Chrome/Google support is NO help whatsoever.
“Chromecast is fantastic!”
Chromecast is fantastic! I have a lower end LCD in my bedroom and Chromecast allows me the ability to watch Netflix and YouTube movies and shows on my big screen. It's easy to set up, easy to connect and works on several devices in the house. I paid $30 for it on sale at Best Buy and its worth much more than that!

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
