CarRental8.com didn't bump the price up, when they found out we were from the UK. Booking for a trip to the USA. We paid the exact price they quoted when searching through a private browser. Some other companies inflated the price significantly when they realised we didn't reside in the USA.
Comparing rental prices online is always easiest when you have a site like CarRental8, and they had the lowest prices around - just what I needed. I only wish I had had contact info for the different car rental companies as I need a location where I can return my car in the middle of the night.
I wanted to change by car rental plans. This included changing drop off location and dates. Their customer service people helped me through and found me a great deal.
Like: Rates were attractive and, at least on the surface, honored. Dislike: a) Documentation was slow and disjointed. b) Further, Hertz is blaming CarRental8 for the not returning the deposit on the credit card. Very frustrating as is a case of finger pointing.
Every time give me better price thank booking from rental car company
Price said £335 and when I booked it they took £398. But this is a genuine glitch then happy to change my review and report the refund has been received.Amend: There was a technical glitch and they have now refunded me the money and an additional £20 to say sorry, so they came good in the end!!
The price is right. Cancellariin policy is right. All instructions for receiving and returning the car are in place. Extra options are provided. Each item has been explained. Came to rental, they have no cars.Carrental8 has no service at night, no one to talk to. No way to cancel on their website, no way to cancel over the phone, no way to cancel in person.There’s no “modify your booking” button on your website. If there is, it is hidden, on purpose.Put the button on your website if you won’t have customer service available.
It was easy to get the car, and get to the car.Unfortunately, all the tires were under inflated, by half. I had to hand pump the tires up by hand from 21 PSI to 39 PSI. No problem, but it meant I was getting worse gas mileage and the tires were wearing out prematurely.
0 stars guys send me wrong details where to bring the car. Everything went as expected using the rental voucher from CarRental8. I would consider using them again when renting a vehicle. One suggestion to renters, be sure you know what kind (electric/gas) vehicle you are renting. We were a bit surprised when we found out that we had rented an all electric car. Other than that, the process went smoothly.
We had rented a car through CarRental8 for pick up at Avis Marseilles airport. The car was unlimited mileage.However after the car was returned we were charged a substantial amount by Avis. Unfortunately we have not been able to get any service from Avis, and have contacted CarRental8.We are hoping for assistance from them. One thing is for sure, we will never rent from Avis again. Quick reservation online and excellent service when I called about a possible change.
I booked online with my pick up and drop off location being different I paid and received confirmation only to realise the pick up and drop off location was the same. When trying to modify booking it allows you to try and modify it but will not proceed all the way to end to process it. I tried to call the number on the website only to get “your call can not be connected” I decided to cancel the booking thinking to myself I just had forgotten to change the pick up and drop off location and will wear the fee. I decided to rebook again, I made sure my drop off and pick up location were to correct. As soon as I paid I realised it did it to me again, it had changed my pick up and drop off location to the same place and again says I can modify the booking but doesn’t actually let you. I’ve now cancelled another booking with possibly loosing another $75 feeThe most nerve wracking feeling is am I getting my money back at all or have I just lost $1200?? Is this website a complete scam???

I have had a prepaid reservation at Naples airport on 17 August, however once I arrived at the car hire desk, I have been informed that all cars are sold and not available for 3 weeks upfront. The hire desk's representatives were " blaming " the broker for still selling unavailable cars. I could not get any car more than 4 hours, neither from the booked hirer noir from other car hire companies around, due to the same overbooking situation.When I eventually reached the broker over the phone to cancel my reservation and claim a refund, they refused to do so, asking to pass the phone to one of the hire desks representatives, who simply didn't want to talk with the broker. After some time one of the hire desks representatives agreed to talk with the broker and promised me to provide a car within 1hr, so I had to wait more time outside under +34 degrees heat. Regardless the reservation, a promise and my wasted 4hr waiting time, car never been provided!!!Then suddenly hire desk offered me a top range car only available at this time at the station, obviously under their full insurance and 3 times higher price in addition to my initial reservation, consequently I have been forced to face a situation to take this car at 300£ higher price or leave..PS :While I was waiting there about 20 more people been scammed in the exactly same way as me. Outrageous scam!!!Date of experience: 17 August 2024

My experience was terrible. I booked a reservation for pickup at the New Orleans airport. When my plane got in there was nobody at the Thrifty rental counter. Even though I had pre-paid the rental I had to rent another car with Avis because they were the only ones open. Additionally, there was an error in the rental which they were unwilling to correct because it was pre-paid. I'll never rent from them again! “CarRental8 ruined my road trip.”
Car rental 8 failed to notify me that the car rental company I used through them doesn't allow for out of state trips. I called them right after I booked, no one mentioned it. Then they blamed me for not noticing it in their fine print. Then Brenton (Supervisor) argued with me over a refund while he blamed me for the mishap. Will never go through them again. “Car Rental 8 refused to honor "Free Amendments"”
I rented a car through Car Rental 8 that included "Plus your rental comes with Free Amendments" on the confirmation. When my airline changed the arrival time on my flight I asked them to modify the pickup time on the car rental to match the flight change. Instead of honoring their promise to make them modification for free, they said the fee would increase 200% to make the modification. When I protested they said they can change the prices "at any given time."

DONT RECOMMEND! They don't take responsibility for making sure your booking is actually confirmed with the car provider. I booked with car rental 8 and they confirmed a car would be waiting for me in Barcelona with Europcar, and when I arrived to Barcelona, Europcar said there was no car available due to holidays and that because I booked with car rental 8, they would not find any car. When I called customer support from car rental 8 they said they could not do anything, and that I would have to book last minute in the airport with another provider, which ended up costing me 2x the price. Also, it's been almost a week and they still have not confirmed they will refund, and instead just ask questions over email. It's insane they 1) did not provide the car, 2) did not help when the issue happened, and 3) are not refunding.

BUYER BEWARE I rented a car that I prepaid for online. I was unable to pick up the rental car due to the fact that I did not have a flight in or out of the Birmingham Airport! This was not disclosed in the Terms & Conditions! Now, not only am I stuck at the airport but I was charged a $75 cancellation fee!!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!
