canadiantire.ca Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives canadiantire.ca one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 88.7. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 88.7 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to canadiantire.ca's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning canadiantire.ca, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between canadiantire.ca and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of canadiantire.ca. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of canadiantire.ca, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. canadiantire.ca is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether canadiantire.ca has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether canadiantire.ca boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, canadiantire.ca.

“Auto centre”
Today I went to the auto centre and the young lady I an asked her where to wait and she looked like her energy is gone and she responded me without opening her mouth! I didn't know what she said without looking at me and speaking from her throat not from her mouth. I wondered and asked a guy and that lady heard me when I asked him then suddenly shouting at me that I told you already! I was shocked! But the other two ladies who were serving me was normal. They do their job. I respected both of them! The first person was full of short tempered and scary person that the way her actions how she responded me and tune. She has to change her behaviour or she needs behaviour management, a counsellor. She seems treated me like I am in the wrong place!
“They left a lot marks on my car”
I took my Nissan Sentra 2015 to Canadian Tire Lebovich, Scarborough for a brake pad change in June 2024. They ended up making a number of marks on my car. I took the car in at 11am and got the car back at 1600hrs. When i noticed the marks and complained about it they showed me pictures they took of the car and the marks at 1530hrs,which is just 30 mins before i picked the car up. They didn't accept responsibility. They have a number of young and inexperience apprentices who don't know how to handle customers with care
“Needed brakes fixed - vastly exceeded estimate”
Need brakes. I was told the total estimated cost for everything was about $1000 (rounded out with no cents included). The total bill was a shocking $1899.69. I disputed the amount based on the estimate and was treated like a liar, belittled and told me if I didn't pay I they could remove the new brakes but it would cost me labour. Horrible and costly experience. Products used:automobile repair Service Value
“Purchase of bike”
The store on mcphillips was in the process of moving products within the store and not many staff were available to assist customers! However I found my bike without too much effort! An older gentleman came to assist us with the bike and showed where accessories were located! I would like to commend this person for going out of his way to help us! We were in and out in no time! Thank you!
“Bathroom cabinet made of prest board”
I bought a bathroom cabinet and realized by putting together it's made of prest board. Found this too late as it fell apart while building. Who would put this material in a bathroom. Now I have garbage to go and out the price I paid. Not impressed and I did shop weekly in Canadian Tire Tip for consumers:It’s garbage out of prest board Now stuck with putting it out to the garbage Products used:Bathroom cabinet Value Quality
“Dishonest Company”
I thought that Canadian Tire is a reputable company; however, they sold me a rim and tire that was not compatible with my car but I was not aware that they were not able to tighten knobs and didn't share this important information with me. Today, I found out from my service advisor that it is not even safe enough to drive with this car one kilometer! Be aware of these unprofessional service provider from Canadian Tire. If your safety is important to you then don't trust them. My experience was with High Tech location in Richmond Hill, Ontario
“Con artists”
Went into this CanadianTire store located in London on Wonderland Road and told them that my parking brake wasn't working. I was told they wanted to do a brake inspection that would be deducted from the bill when they determined what was wrong. After the assessment, I was told that I needed a new parking brake cable and full brake service paired with an estimate of $1,300 for the work. Paid the inspection fee and went to another garage where they adjusted the parking brake at the rear wheels for $100 and fixed the problem! Too bad you can't rate these con artists negatively! Tip for consumers:Date of service Nov 3, 2023. Didn't keep the receipt. Service
“The goods and service are terrible,”
I bought a defective battery - it sparks. Brought. There is no refund, there is no guarantee. The starter burned out in the car. They said it was my problem. The battery type is working, not accepted - enjoy. Tip for consumers:The goods and service are terrible, be afraid. I bought a defective battery - it sparks. Brought. There is no refund, there is no guarantee. The starter burned out in the car. They said it was my problem. The battery type is working, not accepted - enjoy. Products used:The goods and service are terrible, Service Returns Quality
“Bad bad bad kirkland store”
I went to do alignment and they did not do it why,, because your car need to fix some thing and they charge me without telling me a fee for the car check which did not ask for, they are so bad,, i have to keep quiet not even talk about the amount i paid Canadian tire in Kirkland Guys do not go to do any thing there
“Castlegar Canadian Tire workers are sad, grumpy, and unhelpful.”
Every time I go in there, it's the same. I took a long break from Castlegar Canadian Tire after terrible treatment by the manager, Ray. Went back recently because Castlegar still doesn't have a Walmart to cover basic stuff that the Dollar Store doesn't carry. Nothing had changed. Maybe a few new faces. But that's it. Same terrible service and grumpy sad-looking staff members. The whole Store seems dysfunctional. And on a less personal note, the sales aren't what they were a few years ago. Not really worth going in unless you can't find what you need at a better local store or on Amazon.ca. If Canadian Tire in Castlegar is to continue, I think they need new management and a whole new outlook. The image is tired and sad. Everyone knows this. Service Value Returns Quality
“Canadian tire prices vary from store to store”
Guess what, not all CT stores equal Guess what, pricing at Canadian tire stores is not uniform. Recently decided to purchase top tool chest item 058-1847-4. I saw it advertised at Canadian tire on clearance for $449.93. I drove to Canadian Tire store on Coventry Road on Ottawa's east end and they had it at $499.93. I showed ad which I thought was all Canadian tires, and after manager came, he showed me that their store had it at the $499 price, and told me they no longer, since Covid, price match, EVEN THEIR OWN STORE! Went to Merivale store and bought for $449.93 plus HST. Noticed that some LED lights w/additional expansion wing lights which were close to $50 in Coventry store were $19.93 ( not sure what cents were) at Merivale store.Avoid Coventry store I suspect more expensive on everything. Date of experience: 01 December 2023 Products used:Same at better price another store same Franchise Service Value
“Replacement tent poles almost price of tent”
Lost red tent poles on dining tent and replacement parts come from USA. Outbound is owned by Canadian Tire. Maximizing profits? Replacement cost is $64 USD. Tent will go on sale soon for this price. I agree with most reviews…not the store it once was as more examples not noted here. Sold us out. Tip for consumers:The tent is 5 years old but still good to use so needed to replace poles. Canadian tire offered me $50 gift card for my troubles but won’t replace tent. Products used:I will need new tent Shipping Returns
“Return policies”
Hello we purchased new Hoover cordless vacuum,440$ 6 days later after using it only twice vacuum quite working, tried to return item at store to get a refund, they told us they can't we must contact Hoover our company our selves! Be aware folks on Canadian tires return policies!
“Beware the "Refund Card"”
A couple of years ago I had returned an item without a receipt. No problem. Was issued a Refund Card. However, unknown to me, and not disclosed by the Canadian Tire staff member, a Refund Card has an expiry date of one year from date of issue. Found out this information today when I tried to use the card in store and the customer service rep said the card is "expired". I asked, "Refund cards don't expire, do they?" She didn't answer directly but advised me to "look online". Lack of transparency has me giving this company only 2 stars.
“Service of tires”
Worst service in Winnipeg, St James Street. They scheduled it for 9 days, arrived exactly at 6.15, but the salesman said that the mechanics were very busy and it was impossible to change the tires today. After a long conversation, he found a free mechanic and promised to change the tires within two hours, but after 1.5 hours he said that my wheels were not yet in stock and he did not know why or when they would be delivered. They are the worst in Winnipeg and just ruined my time……. Service
“Winter tires”
I bought winter tires in Niagara falls at Canadian tire in November to be ready. I met with a sales representative that gave me advice on tires, I was very worried about the snow after last years disaster in my vehicle, he explained the tires were all on sale so I asked for the top 3, I brought Continental winter contact S1 which were costly but I will say, awesome set of tires and recommended them to anyone, I have only 2 wheel drive Kia Soul ex great so far! Service Value Quality
“Attention to detail and qualified help”
Visited Canadian Tire Lindsay today to buy some petunias, emerald cedars and pay the Triangle card bill. Had no luck on the flowers, did find the cedars at a price gouging number. Staff were hard to find and no prices posted on most products. The only one was on the trees and having purchased them before the price was out of line. $49.99 for 3-4 foot tree. Was expecting roughly $30.00. Went up the street and found the trees at $29.99 as expected and the desired plants. Also staff interested in assisting. On that note when that store was bought by new owner the first thing that went missing was senior we qualified staff. Share holders in Canadian tire should demand a balance of service, staffing, community, corporate integrity vs return on investment. This guy seems to be focused on the latter. Time to chuck Triangle card. Tip for consumers:check your prices Products used:none Service Value
“$ 67 scam inspection fee”
I had booked an appointment to fix my Toyota Echo 2005 power steering line replacement. My son dropped the car at 1901 Eglinton E Canadian Tire garage, without explaining him they took signature on paper work. After a while I got a call, they estimated $1500+ tax for cover the cost. It was not justified to pay for that job, I want back my car, they gave me an invoice of $67 for inspection fee which was not explained me when I have agreed for that appointment, that they need a fees to quote a price. It could be done during the booking of appointment. Its like a daylight robbery for me.So, be careful folks from this Big Box scammer organization.
“Online ordering is a joke at this location”
So tired of ordering online and then two days later they cancel your order because it took them so long to pull the order that someone has bought the product up. What is the use of online buying if not to reserve an item? Called manager did not return my call this has happened many times at this location so order from one t=of the other locations or better yet go elsewhere. They did away with thier customer service department so whatever help you need you have to wait in long line with everyone else
“Like dealing with a hurpie sore”
Every time I go into this store what a disappointment same $#*!ty staff poor attitudes. I feel the owner may need to show up and see his $#*! monkey staff and total lack of appreciation of employment probably fire a few to wake the others l get it's hard to find workers but the folks I had the pleasure of dealing with could be replaced with monkeys any choice is better then the 3 I had the pleasure of dealing with hope someone man's up and reads what the customers feel as to hide and avoid it hoping it will go away. Totally disgusted with my experience again hopefully we can get a princess auto or something in our town so we don't have to have the Camrose Canadian tire experience. Just real sad they managed to group the biggest bunch of society waist into one building. To the staff I had dealings with you are not fit to clean toilets in a homeless shelter. Tip for consumers:Not sure Products used:None I walked out I was so pissed off Service Value Returns Quality
“DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM CANADIAN TIRE”
Purchased a $200 cooler from here only to have to wheel brake off after 1st use. Canadian tire policy is no refunds once used. So I was forced to exchange it only too have that one break as well. I went back to the store for another one but now the 90 days is passed so now I am stuck with a large cooler that dos not roll. So pissed with Canadian Tire. I will never step foot in one of their stores and hope now one else has the same experience I did with Canadian Tire. But as I'm reading online reviews it appears I'm not the only dis satisfied customer. Please be aware they are happy to take your money but hold no responsibility for the products they sell once used. Unfortunately you don't know if a product works until it is used. Stay far away from this store. I would expect this service from an American company Not a CANADIAN company. Tip for consumers:Do not purchase anything from Canadian tire. No refund after 1st use Products used:$200 cooler not a $20 cooler. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Lack of knowledge”
Telephoned to find out what brand of ride on lawn mowers were in stock. "They are on display. You will have to come in". I came in and found two. Spoke to a manager who said they had no brochures or model numbers available. He did tell me that they do not service what they sell but send their customers to a local business. I told him that the named business closed more than two years ago. He told me he could not help me and walked away Products used:Bought the item at a competitor Service Quality
“Great Sales”
The site has great sales. You can even select an item and be notified when this item goes on sale. The option of delivery to house or store. The in store delivery is usually next day and free. However there are times when you may have to wait for item to be shipped in from other stores; longest I waited was 3 weeks. You earn valuable canadian tire dollars on every purchase.
“Curbside Pickup is SUPER FAST!”
Placed an order for next day pickup. Checked in online when I arrived and within 3 minutes they had my order in my truck! Would have been 5 stars but one of the ornaments was clearly defective so I was disappointed that they packed it in my order. Service Value Shipping Quality
“Exceptionally poor customer service - Powell River, BC”
Ever since the new ownership took over a year or two ago, the customer service is not only gone into the toilet but it has been flushed as well. The Powell River Canadian Tire has management that thinks it's ok to walk by a very long line of customers waiting to go through a checkout (only one till open plus customer service that we're both involved in lengthy transactions) and doesn't call assistance for more cashiers and also does not open a till himself to help out. I finally asked the young lady on the till if she could please call for more tills to open as the line was getting even longer. This has been an ongoing problem since new ownership. This is unfortunately pushing people to not shop local. Too bad ownership really doesn't care in the slightest. I guess if they did care, they wouldn't have let go so much staff when they took over ownership.

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
