boatcover.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives boatcover.com a medium-risk trust score on the platform: 65.1. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Known. Vetted. Low Risk.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 65.1 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to boatcover.com's industry. The algorithm detected a slightly lower risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, noted in the Known. Vetted. Low Risk. tags above. Long story short, we recommend staying vigilant and using common sense when engaging with this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning boatcover.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between boatcover.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of boatcover.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of boatcover.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. boatcover.com is likely a safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether boatcover.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether boatcover.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, boatcover.com.

Terrible company. Google made the mistake of listing them first when I typed in my requirements. They don't carry what I needed and I mistakenly bought something "close to" but ultimately too small. They "guarantee customer satisfaction" and would help me exchange the product for something bigger if I took pictures or refund me after exhausting all other options. They acted like they cared and have lots of good options. I jumped through their hoops and they refuse to actually follow through with helping me fix this. Their sales people won't contact me back like they say they will. Hundred bucks gone. Don't use this company.
I don't doubt claims made by others but want to provide clarification.Bad boatcover.com should not be mistaken for good boatcoverS.com_____Bad boatcover.com has no listed mailing address. Automatically disqualifies them in my mind.Bad boatcover.com appears to offer semi-custom patterns, after switching between boat manufacturers and models.Bad boatcover.com appears to offer lower grade materials._______Good boatcoverS.com appears to have unique patterns for manufacturers and models.Good boatcoverS.com has 4 material options for custom covers. The number of colors offered depends on the material selection.Good boatcoverS.com lists their address as 1010 Weyrens Road, Fergus Falls, MN 56537. Good boatcoverS.com address on Google maps shows the address is also for Shoretex Products (shoretexfabric.com). shoretex.com seems to be a local company where you can drop off your boat and get a truly custom cover or order from the many many boat manufacturer and model patterns. shoretex.com also say that a more economical "semi-custom" boat cover can be ordered from 32 different types of boats. Two material types and 13 colors are available.
If I could give zero stars I would. The boat cover that was pictured and described on their website that I ordered is not what was shipped. After going back and forth with customer service for 2 weeks they finally gave me the return shipping information. Now 2 weeks later after they have received their product back I called to find out where my refund is they said they would take care of it today but it will take another 3-4 business days. So now they have had my money for a month. I have nothing to show for it and they keep 18% for a restocking fee even though they did not send the product as advertised. I would RUN from this company. They should not be allowed to do business they are just STEALING your money. It is a JOKE!
Do not buy from this company! I wish I would have read the reviews prior to purchasing from this company. Their website is full of lies. Their policies are horrible! Satisfaction is not guaranteed and returns will cost you! I purchased a cover for my Sea-Doo GTX watercraft. One of the most popular water crafts available. It didn’t come close to fitting and no attempt was made to assure me a different cover would fit any better. So I returned it and got whacked with a restocking fee. One star is too good of a review for this company. Please do not use this company!
Have to agree with the other reviews. Would not recommend doing business with this organization. Sent out the cover that did not fit. Its a different image on their website, called for return, website says 100pct satisfaction. They talked me into trying another cover before issuing the return credit, It was not a good fit either. Sent the second cover back as and they charged a restocking fee. What a way to do business. Recommend staying away!!! What a waste of time.Don't do business with them!
Service when buying was good. Service after the sale is some of the worst I have ever experienced from any retailer including cable TV companies and DMV's! I can get no responses from them regarding a warranty claim. They simply do not respond no matter how many emails I send or "contact us" requests I make. DO NOT buy from this company. If you do, expect a one time experience with them.
If I could give them zero stars I would, such a scam! I ordered a boat cover and they sent me the wrong color so I called and they said to try the cover on the boat to make sure it fits. The cover does not fit and is way to big, I told them I would like to return it for a full refund and that's when they tell me there is an 18% restocking fee that can't be waived. What happened to satisfaction guaranteed?? This company is a total rip off and their customer service is horrible, I called and asked to speak to a manager and was told they couldn't guarantee a call back because he doesn't like to call people, wth?? Do not do business with them unless you just want to throw away $300!
What a scam!!! This company is a front for sealskin. Sealskin has such a bad rep they now trick you into buying from them. Did not send the the cover I ordered Spartan 1700 with built in port side kicker cover. Sent me a Sealskin cover that does not come close to fitting. Offering to send a different Sealskin cover as a replacement. Good thing I paid via Paypal.
The cover itself is fine and came pretty quickly. The problem is the strap system. I could not figure out how to make it work. A quick chat and I received a link to a YouTube video showing how to separate the different length straps and distinctly showing how to install them. The follow-up chats were useless...just repeats of the same mantra: "the straps you received are sufficient to do the job." This is not the case. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service. After sending me the initial video link, they completely avoided answering my questions, except to tell me there was nothing that could be done about it and that there were no more straps. The strap system does not work and I will have to rig some other way to hold the cover on while at home. I'll never be able to travel with the cover on the boat like promised. Oh, and...when I went back to look at my chat transcript, they had conveniently deleted most of it. Fortunately, I saved the video link they sent me.
I purchased 2 covers and they both tore up almost immediately after use. They charge a 30% restock fee to send you the same cheap cover. They are almost identical to the $100 covers at most sports equipment chain store.
I ordered a jet ski cover online using their website to show me the cover that would fit my jetski. It arrived and was at least 2 feet too short. I waited for 20 minutes to get a service rep to tell me what size I needed. Then he couldn't guarantee the correct one would arrive in time for my 2 week long trip. They sent me a return label and then charged me 25% restocking fee. I will never do business with this company again and tell all of y river and lake friends this company sucks.
Originally i was told my cover was in stock and would ship in a few business days in November. Took approximately 2 months to arrive. Didn't fit. Couldn't tell you how many times I tried to get a hold of someone there to get this worked out. They will answer to sell you one though. Finally it's 2nd week of February and I'm finally issued a refund. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE BUSINESS. TRUST THE BAD REVIEWS THEY HAVE. I should have.
Worst customer service ever. Can't call and speak to anyone that isn't with a answering service. It's been a total run around try to submit a warranty claim. It's been over a month since they said that it was approved and would be shipping it out. 2 weeks into it they said I had to pay a $35 processing fee. Almost 5th week in they say that it is on back order for at least 2 weeks.Don't do business with this company.
The absolute worst. Shipped the wrong item, got it one month late, and no refund or exchange from them. Putting money over customer satisfaction. Recommend looking for other modern brands, this is the typical old-school online retailer with unbearable customer service.
On June 6th 2020, I ordered 2 watercraft covers for Yamaha Waverunners. The online ordering process went as expected. Provided shipping/billing address, CC and product selection. Got a timely order confirmation and expected product to ship shortly. After about 3 weeks, nothing arrived so I contacted customer service. Their response was that they did not know what happened to the order but would check with shipping and get back to me the next day with an answer. The next day (Friday) came and went and no status provided. On Monday around 5 pm, I called again only to be placed on hold 3 times only to be told that the product I ordered was not available and was on backorder. It would be 3-4 weeks before my product would be available. If I did not make multiple calls, my guess is they certainly were not going to make the call to me. Bottom line, very poor customer experience and because of it I asked that the order be cancelled and a refund issued. Let’s see how long that takes.... Bottom Line.....avoid this operation.
After reading the reviews I had to say I’ve had the same problem it took a very long time for the boat cover to get here but once it finally did arrive the boat cover fit the boat very nicely it’s held up very good throughout the rain it came with an engine cover which I was not expecting it came with the straps to tie down the cover to the trailer so you can tow it. I am very happy with the boat cover just wish the delivery date didn’t take so long!
Critical: Professionalism, ResponsivenessThis is a horrible company to deal with!!! Do not buy from them. I ordered a cover in November 2020. When it hadn't arrived by January I called them and they told me two more weeks....so I waited. I then emailed their help desk in early February when I still hadn't received it and told them I wanted to cancel the order. I emailed them three times to cancel the order and received no reply. Finally by end of March I realized I had not got my credit on my credit card so I called and they said they had shipped it mid March. I explained that I cancelled it in February because I no longer lived at that address. They agreed that I had cancelled it over email but because I also didn't also call they still shipped it.Now they are refusing to issue me a refund, even though I cancelled it and have never received it as I moved out of state.Horrible customer service, horrible communication, horrible company to deal with. Avoid them at all costs!
I have purchased several boat covers from boatcovers.com and sealskincovers.com and had good luck until my last purchase. Previously if I received a cover that was too long I returned it and they replaced it with a shorter one that fit. This time I received one that was over 2 feet to long and I told them about it, but before I returned it my neighbor has a longer boat and he bought it from me. I placed a new order and received the same length cover even though I had told them the sku number that was too long. I returned It with pictures and they sent me another one that had the same sku number that was too long. This time they refused to correct their problem saying that they can only make an exchange one time. They sent me the same cover 3 times. This was not my fault. I know that they have the proper cover for my length boat because I have bought one for that length boat before and know the proper sku number. I tried to escalate this issue within the company and was told that is the company policy and would not let me speak to anyone else. I eventually returned the cover and was still charged a 25% restocking fee. Previously I would have given them a high rating, but no longer.
DO NOT BUY A COVER FROM THEM took 3 months just to get a “custom cover” that doesn’t fit over my trolling motor
Company is a scam. Same as sealskin covers. Only way yo get money back is to dispute charge

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
