bluenile.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives bluenile.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 82.9. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Reliable. Legitimate. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 82.9 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to bluenile.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Reliable. Legitimate. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a reliable and secure website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning bluenile.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between bluenile.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of bluenile.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of bluenile.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. bluenile.com is an innocuous website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether bluenile.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether bluenile.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, bluenile.com.

Item was never delivered. Because the customer has to be there and sign for the item, I was unable to accept delivery. Some of us have to actually be employed to afford such trinkets, and taking the day out of work to sign for something arriving in mid-morning is out of the question. There is no option for weekend delivery. Horrible business model.
I purchased a ring from Blue Nile over a month ago (Order #1003431641). Got a discount of $403 and my order confirmation. 3 days later, got a call from them that they can’t process the payment because it’s $403 short of the total. I had to share with them my original order confirmation email. After that, they told me they’ll honor the discount even though there was a glitch in their website. Well, they still charged me $173 more than the price in the order confirmation. After that, the original customer service stopped responding, I had to do 3 additional calls, got promised again it’ll be resolved, and finally, on the last call they told me sometimes their website glitches and they have to charge the higher price, scamming me out of $230 and saying there’s nothing they can do about it. I’m currently disputing it with my bank. Never do business with them if you’re not willing to pay whatever price they come up with after you already purchase the product.
The phone conversations when figuring out what to order was outstanding. When placing the order over the phone also great! Picking it up was professional but not special. No attempt at are you doing anything special today or can I get you anything else? Maybe when you pick up an engagement ring present a small gift jewelry cleaner or a ring holder to make it signify something special. Just a suggestion.Thank you,Betty
The process of designing my fiancé engagement ring was easy with the help of David at the King Of Prussia mall
Our selection process was pleasant, the sales associate was attentive and followed up on our end decision to complete the purchase. I am giving two stars due to complications after the purchase. My item failed to deliver due to signature requirement and returned. I never received an email notice or call with instructions. I would have liked the same follow-up and attention that I received during my purchase.
great phone real person customer service and easy purchase and return and refund. I have purchased precious items over the decades from blue nile and they are always the best quality value and most important product and company integrity. (I am not AI--no incentives) I can always trust blue nile. I put todays date as I dont remember the exact day last month.
Roxanne, the diamond expert, went above and beyond to ensure that my wife and I were thrilled with her new rings, one of which she arranged a custom build for! Could not recommend any more highly!
Love the ring. It's so beautiful, well made and the design process was incredible easy. The only reason it's not getting 5 stars was because of the delivery. UPS has been terrible from beginning to end and I'm still dealing with them weeks after delivery because despite an invoice and credit card statement confirming I paid the customs fees, as well as previous phone calls and e-mails, I received yet another request to pay the same amount, with the threat of it being sent to collections. So I probably wouldn't order again, unless I was given the option of a different delivery agency.
My first purchase was a single diamond. I had it appraised and was very pleased with the result. I have purchased again but hard to see size of diamonds in settings in a picture. They readily accepted the necklace for return and refunded my money immediately.
I want to praise Kyle Perfect for being a splendid jeweler. He guided my partner and I through every step of finding out our size to the size of the stone to the style of the rings. We have stunning rings because of Kyle! Thank you!!
Delivery was poor. While BN isn’t responsible for delivering to the door, they made very little effort to assist with options since I missed the 3 x delivery dates due to being in out of town. In short, BN wanted to charge me $30 to reshoot a ring that was still in my area sitting at the UPS store. After an hour on the phone and threatening to return for a full refund and refusing to pay any additional shipping they agreed to hold the item for me to pickup.
I purchased a beautiful engagement ring and a wedding band soon after. The process of selecting the diamond and the setting was fun! I did make a change after my initial order, and that went relatively smoothly. Overall, I’m very pleased with Blue Nile. The rings are beautiful and my future wife is extremely happy.
The ring I ordered and received was beautiful but my now husband preferred another ring I bought elsewhere. I traveled to the Tyson’s Corner store on a busy Saturday and had to wait at least 30 minutes only to be told the item is “online-only”!
Extremely poor customer service. Jewellery was delayed by several days with no clear updates. Resulted in significant anxiety as jewellery didn’t almost arrive for wife’s birthday.
Quality products but…….. I brought an engagement ring 8 years ago from Blue Nile, so I used the size on the invoice to order an eternity ring last month. The engagement invoice size must have been wrong as the eternity ring did not fit. We got both rings measured locally and the engagement ring size was incorrect. This meant I needed to send the eternity ring back to the USA (I’m based in the UK). I have had so much hassle (stillnot resolved) trying to get the fairly considerable cost I had to pay for import taxes refunded. Blue Nile have not been helpful in this regard and neither have UPS who Blue Nile use to import, both must face this very regularly. I’m sure the size of both companies and the money being spent they could provide support or at the very least a guide of what to do in this fundamental element of international shipping. It goes without saying UK Customs haven’t been helpful either. It’s definitely put me off using Blue Nile in the future which is a shame.
DO NOT buy from Blue Nile. They lost my ring; their customer service agents were very rude!I had a horrible experience. Not only they lost my wedding band but also they had horrible customer service!I don't even know if I have a wedding band before my wedding!NO NOT buy from Blue Nile unless you want to ruin your wedding experience.
Ordered a ring and it came with the wrong font on the inside engraving. Customer service could not BELIEVE how such a mistake could be made when it allegedly goes through so many quality checks and wanted a picture before authorizing a return! Tried several times to sell me another ring and acted like it was a big deal that they would sell me another ring at the discounted price for which I originally purchased it since that sale had since ended. That’s right - I would have to BUY a NEW ring like the one I originally ordered and they would refund the original purchase price at a later date! Had to repeat twice I didn't want another ring, I wanted a refund. I understand the $25 re-polishing fee for a return and in the end, I'm glad I'm only out that fee and the cost of a new box to send it back (original box wasn't good enough) instead of a thousand dollars, but why should I have to pay a fee for a return that was obviously THEIR mistake? This was my first experience with Blue Nile and it will be the only one. I Will NEVER purchase anything from Blue Nile again. Would give zero stars if I could.
The process from start to finish couldn’t have been better. I previously ordered the engagement ring through Blue Nile and this order was for the wedding band. The products themselves are packaged beautifully and my wife couldn’t be happier.
Great customer service! The agent quickly assisted me with placing my order, and was able to answer all my questions.
Worst experience ever. I purchased this piece expecting quality. Apparently blue Nile was purchased by another company in the last few years and their quality has tanked. Give your business to local jewelers. My piece broke within 45 days of purchase(the clasp) if I didn’t notice it falling off my neck I would have lost it while doing errands. They refused to refund me as it was outside the 30 days(how convenient). I was gaslit in the store in San Jose informed that these things happen and it’s not out of the ordinary and since then have not gotten any useful response from support aside from, “we’re waiting for our team”. Quality pieces should not break and this is not normal.

“Bad experience with damaged ring”

I recently purchased two wedding rings from Blue Nile, having them shipped all the way to London from the United States. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. Upon receiving the rings, I noticed that the bride's ring had a noticeable black mark on the inside—something that should have been caught during a proper inspection before shipping. When I contacted customer service, the options they provided were far from satisfactory. They offered to send the ring back for repair, but this would take an unacceptable two months, leaving me close to my wedding abroad in the Philippines with no guarantee of having the ring in time. Their other options were just as disappointing: either accept a refund for the flawed ring, which would leave me with one unmatched ring, or pay out of pocket to have it repaired by a local jeweler in London. Given the distance this ring had to travel, it's frustrating that Blue Nile did not take the necessary care to ensure everything was perfect. The lack of a viable solution and the long wait for repairs have left me deeply unsatisfied. I expected better quality control and customer service from a company with such a reputation, especially when dealing with something as important as wedding rings. “Bad customer service”

I purchased a blue nile wedding band and everything went well until a few weeks in when it got scratched. It's a tungsten band, but I figured I'd live with it. Then after only having the ring for three years it has cracked. There was a lifetime guarantee when I bought the band and free repairs. Blue Nile is unable to honor either of those commitments. I am severely disappointed in their customer service and the quality of the ring. They no longer sell the particular band on the website, so I assume they realized it was a flawed product—which I hate to say because it's my wedding band and has a great deal of sentimental value for me. Tip for consumers:Definitely don’t buy anything from these frauds Products used:Ring Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Absolutely STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY”

They trick you in buying their products, take your money and then do not ship for the prior discussed and promised shipping date. Prices seem to be good but this whole thing is like a scam. Poor sales people in the blue nile shops that have to sell this scam. STAY AWAY and buy local from your store! Tip for consumers:STAY AWAY. This company is scam, takes your money and then cannot deliver as promised. Again, STAY AWAY Products used:Ended up without any product Shipping

“Lovely diamond”

Robert was such an amazing help in trying to find the perfect diamond for our setting. It's lovely and we are very happy. I actually would never think of buying another diamond from any place but from blue Nile

“I love my Blue Nile Diamonds!”

My husband has bee surprising me with Blue Nile diamonds since 2009! I am always so pleased with the quality of the diamonds as well as the settings. I have 4 rings, a pair of studs, hoops and a beautiful pendant. Blue Nile's customer care and service team is top notch too! I've had my rings appraised for insurance purposes and my appraisals have all come back for a much higher replacement value than we spent. I will forever refer friends and family to Blue Nile! “Blue Nile just lost two loyal customers.”

We have purchased jewelry from Blue Nile in the past, including our wedding rings. The past 3 purchases we made online stated, "IN STOCK" with a promised delivery date. On each delivery date, Blue Nile states shipment is delayed. Two to three weeks later, we get an email from them stating the items are unavailable and a refund will be issued at a later time. Having to wait at least 3 weeks to get our $6,400+ refund is not acceptable. Blue Nile has lost its reputation and we no longer recommend them to our friends. We highly recommend James Allen, Brilliant Earth, or David Yurman for reliability and quality.

“Pearl Earings- Gift For Nurseing Grad.”

I purchased these pearl ear rings for my girlfriend that was about to graduate Nursing School. She loved them! She wanted for Nursing photos and Graduation. She wears them nonstop. Looked at Tiff., these are incredible and flawless, priced much better and still received with a beautiful presentation box. Thanks again! Tip for consumers:Everything was as expected and wonderful. Products used:Pearl Earrings

“Asked to review, and still haven't received it!”

So disappointed that the item I purchased in April, and now being asked to review, has still not been sent due to further delays! No solution was offered, or discount to purchase another item, due to delay being "on their suppliers end". I now have to buy another item for my daughter's birthday! Don't rely on Blue Nile for time sensitive items. Products used:Still haven't received it Service Value Shipping

“Amazing jewelry at great prices”

I purchased a diamond bracelet for my wife for our anniversary. She loves it. The price was great, the quality is amazing and the jewelry arrived on time, in a plain box. Perfect. I had several friends who used Blue Nile and they told me that the jewelry is terrific. I tried the service and found just what I was looking for on the site. I had a couple of questions and used the chat feature to get my answers. It was really easy and fast. Thank you for amazing jewelry at prices that are much better than the mall stores! Tip for consumers:They have 10 retail showrooms across the country where you can visit and see, feel and touch the diamonds and jewelry before you buy. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Small Diamond and White Gold Huggies”

While pretty, they were hard to get on and closing was not great. Sadly, I have already lost one within three weeks of wearing them so I cannot recommend these. Also, did not realize how small they were. I bought them for $500 plus. I tried uploading photos but was unable to do so. Tip for consumers:get as much information as you can Products used:earrings Value Shipping Quality

“Emerald not so green”

The shopping experience was easy enough, as usual. Unfortunately, the emeralds in the earrings I purchased were not as green as the image shown which was what you'd expect when you think of emerald green. Instead, they are a shade or two lighter, milkier if you will. And these were NOT cheap! My wife says she likes them but she's also a very polite person. I'd be lying if said I wasn't disappointed. Products used:Emerald Stud Earrings in 18k White Gold (5mm) Value Quality

“Poor quality control/ poor customer service”

I purchased a 3 prong emerald ring. 2 months later and very little wear, the center stone fell out. Customer service was not very amenable to sending a return postage label, due to this was beyond 30 days. I sent it USPS and now it is lost! I have purchased jewelry in the past but, never had a problem. Now that I have, I would not be comfortable with the customer service.

“Chain broke one month into wear”

I purchased this as a gift for my daughter. A month into wearing the chain gave out and she almost lost the pendant. I am shocked at such low quality. For the price, this is unacceptable Awaiting a response from Blue Nile. Value

“Beautiful ring…customer service could be better”

The ring is beautiful. The process was painless. As the 30+ days drew to an end, the ring went on sale for $500 cheaper. The company would not honor the refund. This saddened me and made the experience a little less sweet.

“Long time customer but no longer...”

I have purchased many pieces of jewelry from Blue Nile over the years and had been very satisfied. However the last purchased i made was for a ring in which they claimed that if the sizing was incorrect they would fix it for free. This is what has ended my relationship with Blue Nile because that was completely untrue and they treated my wife horribly when she called to get it sized correctly. I called them myself very aggravated and was blown off by Blue Nile customer service for over a week. When they finally called me back they just told me they would not help me and I told them that I would no longer be a customer. They were fine with that... Unlike Blue Nile, I am a man of my word and haven't purchased from them since, but I will tell you my wife looks stunning in the jewelry I just bought her for our anniversary, her birthday and Mother's day from another provider. Your loss Blue Nile, NOT mine! Service

“Horrible customer service”

My boyfriend purchased a diamond necklace for my birthday. He bought it early and gave it to me on birthday. When I tried it, the necklace was too tight and I wanted to exchange it. I explained to the customer representative that my neck is chubbier and I wanted to exchange it for something else that actually fit me. I was a few days after the return policy and she said if I had called one day earlier I would've been able to but since I was late I would have to pay 20% restocking fee. I think it's ridiculous that people spend so much money on this site and this is their customer service. Til this day I have an expensive diamond necklace that's sitting in my drawer that I can never wear. Tip for consumers:Buy somewhere else who has more compassion for their customers that offer an exchange policy without a 20% restocking fee. I literally would've had to pay for being big and something not fitting me. Products used:Nothing because I'm a bigger girl and the necklace couldn't fit around my neck Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Great Diamond. Prompt Notifications. Missed Opportunity for Upsale”

My fiancée couldn't be happier with the diamond. It's a 2 carat almost perfect gem. The purchase process is important of course as it's an emotional and exciting purchase. Notifications and next steps were effectively and promptly communicated. Unfortunately Blue Nile would not help me with an opportunity to purchase the cleaning kit after the fact. I was unaware the cleaning kit was even an offering. Otherwise two thumbs up. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Poor delivery.”

I waited way over the recommended time for the package. I made numerous calls to Blue Nile agents to trace the package, to no avail. The package disappeared off grid, then suddenly reappeared. Clearly Blue Nile lost control of the process and the experience was stressful and upsetting as the package arrived after Valentines Day.

“Stay away, exchanges will cost you more than buying 2 rings!”

Bought a ring, received it and had to resize it. Nightmare began...4 months to receive it back. In this timeframe, I paid import duties on the first shipment, import duties to send it back into USA (due to BlueNile missing information on shipping documents), finally import taxes again on the third shipment to get the new ring (again BlueNile responsibility). In all of this, BlueNile customer care team replied emails for the sake of replying, they couldn't care less nor moved a finger to help with any of this. I'm do disappointed I bought from these unprofessional people. Stay away for your own peace! Tip for consumers:Only when you threaten to cancel and order someone will speed up things. Horrible service, horrible shipment management, horrible everything !!! Products used:Solitaire ring Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Quality of products and service have deteriorated over the years”

A purchase (and eventual return) I made for Valentine's Day was my last from Blue Nile. When I started shopping at Blue Nile, the quality of the products, service, and price were outstanding. I really felt like a valued customer and as a result, I made all my jewelry purchases from Blue Nile. Recently, the quality of the products has deteriorated along with the customer service and price. I was shocked by the low quality and value of the earrings I recently bought (along with the quality of value of other recent purchases) and was further disappointed by how unfriendly the customer service representative was. I don't shop at Blue Nile any more. Products used:Earrings

“Blue Nile Doesn't Care”

I bought a necklace from BN. The matching earrings had been discontinued, but I found them on another site, in perfect condition. The first necklace sent was the wrong one. Thinking this mistake was a fluke, I sent the necklace back and ordered another. Again, the wrong necklace was sent. To make matters worse, BN would not agree that the wrong necklace was sent... twice... but finally confirmed that I was right. By this time, the necklace was on backorder. One date after another passed... while the return window for the earrings had closed. Finally, the necklace was discontinued. Customer Service provided the usual platitudes. One even told me to look for the necklace on Claires.com! I sent a letter to the CEO of BN, Sean Kell. No reply... after about a month.

“I have a marriage function in the coming Sunday but...”

I have a marriage function in the coming Sunday but I have not new collections of jewelry for wearing at the time of function. So I am very sad and decided to not attending the function. That time my mom ordered pair of diamond bangles from the bluenile.com site. It was an amazing set of diamond bangles. After got the bangles I attend the function. Service

“25th anniversary absolute FAIL!”

What ever you do don't ever trust Blue Nile with a time sensitive important event! They completely will fail you! I paid for a custom ring for my 25th Anniversary and it arrived a week late and Blue Nile DIDN'T CARE AT ALL! This was not my first purchase from them, but it will be my last! Don't make the same mistake! Tip for consumers:Avoid Blue Nile at all costs! Products used:Ring Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“My husband purchased a $600 platinum bracelet for me”

My husband purchased a $600 platinum bracelet for me. It chipped and at that point I found out it was plated silver. The bracelet was not platinum at all. I contacted blue nile and they refused to offer any type of reconcilitation. They talked to me on the phone twice. They said that I found a bracelet that looked like theirs and it was not the one they sent me. They shipped the same bracelet back to me with an invoice saying it was a platinum bracelet AGAIN and when I opened the box it was the same one I had before They didn't even have the guts to tell me they weren't going to do anything about sending me the wrong bracelet. This is complete BS. If you purchase anything from there take it to a jeweler to get it tested to make sure it is real.

“Very poor and unprofessional service”

Very poor service. We ordered a ring and suddenly after 2 days it's "out of stock" very very unprofessional, very poor service. NOT RECOMMEND to do business with that kind of low and poor standards of service. Tip for consumers:Above it all the service was so unsensitive... worse experience ever. Products used:Nothing! They are "out of stock" Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. Are You the Owner of bluenile.com?

If you own bluenile.com, we’d love to hear from you. If you'd like to challenge the trust score we’ve assigned, we’re happy to take a closer look. However, please be prepared to provide solid proof of your business's legitimacy. Introduce yourself with your name (not just "Admin").

When domain owners contact us to dispute their trust score, we kindly ask for the following:

* Business documentation that verifies your legitimacy (e.g., certificate of incorporation, business registration, or official records with the site or business name).

* Your personal LinkedIn profile and the business's social media accounts (e.g., Facebook).

* If available, proof of satisfied customers (e.g., screenshots, not just testimonials on your website), evidence of inventory, or records of handling order cancellations properly.

We’re more than willing to update your review based on the evidence you provide—the more proof, the higher your trust score. Please note, however, that we cannot verify non-operational websites or those redirected to other URLs. Additionally, we do not verify websites involved in high-risk financial services, gambling, adult content, or illegal activities.

Please send the following via email to [email protected].
