bbc.co.uk Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives bbc.co.uk the absolute highest trust score on the platform: 100. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Safe. Secure. . We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this very high score? We came up with the 100 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to bbc.co.uk's industry. The algorithm detected no high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Safe. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we label this website as secure and trustworthy. We explain this in more detail below.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning bbc.co.uk, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between bbc.co.uk and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of bbc.co.uk. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of bbc.co.uk, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. bbc.co.uk is a secure website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether bbc.co.uk has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether bbc.co.uk boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, bbc.co.uk.

I very rarely listen to the Today programme on radio four now mainly because of Emma “good to have you with us or lovely to have your company” Barnett. Honestly she was bad enough on Woman’s Hour where everything was “a journey”, “empowering”, “diverse” and “inclusive”.Please just present the programme in a down to earth and factual manner without all the sickly sweet patronising woke nonsense. I know we can hardly go back to the Redhead and Timpson era but at least they were unwoke and on occasion dare I say amusing.
BBC wastes license payers money by funding so called celebs to fly all over the world, and then have the nerve to bring them back. Also they are biased, woke and half of their presenters cannot pronounce simple words correctly. For example, words with TH in them are mispronounced as F or D. And almost every news item, drama or comedy are them lecturing us. Do us all a favour BBC and go commercial, now.
The bbc I remember is nothing what it stood for honesty, it seems all the bbc is now a company funded by us uk citizens but works for isreal. It is shameless of them the bbc doesn't have a back bone. I for will boycott the bbc and stop paying my hard earned money to such a shameful organisation.
BBC Alba could be nice to watch if there were more subtitles but there rarely are. I have not found a single Scottish Gaelic to English translator either that works properly on google play store and the ones that are there have hundreds of ads. When you pay a TV licence you expect better from the BBC.
BBC I player stopped allowing downloads ...why ??? ..rubbish !! Now a waste of time .BBC News website frequently flickers and wont stabilise .It really is a pretty poor show from what used to be a well respected and efficient operation. Please can we get some professionals to take up the lead here and bring this ailing corporation back to its former glory. The current bunch of muppets are just not up to the job
Another stupid online journalist Becky Morton comparing the smoking bans to Nazi persecution. Really do these people ever think? And whilst on the subject of smoking bans surely it’s better for air and non smokers who are passive smokers? I was very glad when they banned it in public places. It stinks for one thing.
Watching the Kingdom, The world’s Most Powerful Prince and as a daughter from someone who lived near Saudi. A vast proportion of the claims they make are manipulated and even false in some situations. It is a very difficult watch and disappointing that the very channel we rely on to educate us on countries around the world have been falsified and distorted.
Watching Celebrity Masterchef where are the celebries ? i think it's time to call it a day might as well stick to joe public as i have no clue who most of the so called celbrities are.
It is noticeable how TV newsreaders and reporters talk to each other rather than addressing the viewers; they constantly repeat their Christian names, sometimes followed by their surnames and the word "there". For example, lets say "Jill Newsby" is chatting with "Jack Frosty". The conversation might be something like this; "What's the weather like in Yorkshire Jack. Well Jill, it could rain, Jill, it could hail, Jill or it could snow Jill. Thanks Jack, could it improve, Jack. No Jill, it must be down to climate change, Jill. Thanks Jack. Just one question Jill, what's that Jack. Have I called you Jill enough times. Probably, Jack, Jack Frosty there".
The most out of touch organisation is the BBC, they are part of why the UK is becoming so divided (all they do is put the UK down over history) lets be honest! The BBC has lost all credibility to criticise anyone, I'm glad I don't contribute to what's become way to political, it shouldn't be public funded if it can't be impartial, but most of all the constant disrespect for England & anyone they disagree with.
Having bought 2 tickets for myself and my partner for the Saturday 7th September as soon as they became available. I have been trying to get information about parking with a blue badge for about a month now via ticket master and the Preston Council but to no avail, ticket master didn't even bother to respond. I eventually got a response from the BBC customer services saying there was a special email for accessibility so I contacted them. They responded to say all the places reserved for blue badge holders have been allocated. I responded by asking why they did not advertise the fact there was a special email for this. The problem will be Preston Council have made the area around Moor Park a resident only area. The nearest dedicated parking is 2 kilometres away at Avenham Park. How are disabled people supposed to get there? I guess the dignitaries will be well catered for so shame on you the BBC for spoiling what was to be a special treat for us, we can't even sell the tickets now.
Why is the BBC so obsessed with US ‘news’?Incredible and lengthy coverage of the November election as well as business news obsessed with US.I’m sure I’m not the only one that would appreciate more UK news content and perhaps a summary of events in the USA for those who may be interested
I am fed up having to fork out money for this immoral statutory licence fee. I am sick of the programming on our TV's and Radio and the huge salaries paid out to the hangers-on at the BBC gravy train. I used to applaud the quality of the output and TV stations, but this has seriously diminished and the Radio programming for BBC Scotland as an example is utter garbage on a daily basis. Who is running this pathetic outfit and why do we need to pay a lot of money for this drivel and the big wages for the fat cats and hangers on. This is the public and you have no right to demand this immoral revenue.
There’s endless and lengthy coverage of fires in Greece, Ukraine, the Olympics, metal health issues, the list isn’t endless. But hardly ever a mention of the genocide by Israel in Gaza and Palestine or the wests complicity, which is a daily atrocity for the world. I have to get this information elsewhere, so why should I pay a license fee. The BBC is not an impartial news channel.
I am very disappointed with the Olympics coverage. I payed for the license only to watch the Olympic Games but the BBC only transmites what they want. For example yesterday I wanted to watch the Breaking which is the novelty for this O.G but I could watch only 10min of it because the BBC decided to transmit something else!!! Also it’s impossible to find the continuation for other disciplines that I like because there is none and to finish my complaint they have so many commentators to talk about what we just saw! Talk talk talk, it’s boring. I don’t need that 👎👎👎
Cannot believe that the BBC hierarchy let Edward’s stay on his employment knowingly he was a pervert! They cover up by saying no one guilty until proved. Rubbish, it’s the same with JS , covering up along, because he is high profile they keep it hush hush, they have been told he made advances to other staff but nothing done! We are being taken for a ride with this barbaric tv licence and its overpaid high profile staff. What a waste of tv licence fee. 😫😫
this entity is calling us all far-right. I'm just perplexed by the evil who runs this disinformation. anti-British working-class who hold us all up. They are pond life commie evil who truly hate us, remember our great BBC called us the great unwashed...
So - last November Huw Edwards was arrested and charged with making indecent images of children - between 2020 and 2022.Thankfully in the UK one is innocent until proven guilty. However he received a pay rise in the last year - and not just any old pay rise - but one of £40,000!! That's more than the average UK annual salary! And that - despite being suspended for most of that time - and therefore doing no work. The BBC MUST - repeat MUST - be accountable to us licence payers for such a travesty.
If I could give BBC no stars for its Olympics coverage I would. On BOTH iPlayer channels they have shooting with some unknown individuals that no-one gives a continental about. WHY NO TENNIS COVERAGE WHEN 2 OF THE GREATEST TENNIS PLAYERS ARE PLAYING???? REFUND MY TV LICENCE FEE!!!
I cannot praise highly enough the Olympic games coverage provided by the BBC Radio 5Live commentary teams. The correspondents, their French counterparts, the ex-Olympians and studio co-ordinators were superb throughout, giving us all the events as they happened with knowledge, informed opinion, history, enthusiasm and humour, with some good-natured banter and joshing thrown in - simply excellent. I’ve always preferred radio to TV for live events - the visual image descriptions from radio voices far outweigh the TV pics which demand all your attention, though they do have their moments. But radio can zip between different sports and venues in the blink of an eye unlike TV which had some restrictions. Congrats to all the folks who put this radio-wave marathon (intended) together. You did us proud, as did the Olympians themselves. Well worth the licence-fee, thank you!

“Very good food and cooking website”
Very good food and cooking website. (www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/) Thousands of recipes - most linked to the dozens of TV cookery programmes the BBC has hosted over many years. You can search by recipe name or just list ingredients if you need some help with inspiration. Another plus is that they are not full of links trying to sell you stuff. They also cover recipes for special diets. Excellent!
“Keep away from BBC Australia shop - they falsely advertise they have stock”
The BBC Australia shop is terrible. I ordered an item on Dec 7, which was supposed to arrive prior to Christmas. It never came. I did not receive any email about the item. There was no proper tracking advice. Five weeks later and I still have not received my item. After finally getting through to their Customer Service line, they said that the item was not in stock and now they have to wait for a shipment. So they never even had my item in stock, and they illegally advertised it in the first place. Terrible Customer Service! No offer to send it free of postage or make any amends for their error and illegal online behaviour.
“This website has an enormous amount of information...”
This website has an enormous amount of information and is one of the five most visited websites in the whole of the UK. It has a good web community and has a very professional online content. It contains the news, weather, sport, entertainment, cookery recipes and the kitchen sink. It is entirely safe and can be viewed by all ages. Not only that but I can't think of anything bad to say about it. Overall - safe and reliable.
“Delusions of adequacy”
If penny pinching lack of empathy for over 75s is the BBC objective then achieving alienation of loyal viewers is a success. Lack of programme quality is rife and even small things like updating text such as errors of fact misplaced geographical postings and total failure to monitor the obvious inaccuracies tells us they don't care.
“Untrustworthy”
Likes to create news rather than report it, self praising, biased against sections of the community that do not subscribe to all its mantras. Creates hatred and through biased reporting, marginalises And alienates people with a valid but different view. Hides news it sees as counter to its pre determined aims and agendas. Hypocritical.
“Good site but needs more content”
Its a great website however there is not enough content compared to other news websites like CNN etc. Would prefer also if they created a different section just to cover brexit as i think is taking to much space taken up and its now just boring
“What an awesome way to stay on top of your current...”
What an awesome way to stay on top of your current events! The sidebar menu is broken down by continent and each headline provides you with a great summary lead. Great good old-fashioned journalism structured in the best way to get the juicy first and the nit-gritty second.
“A formerly great institution with a proud past and rotten present”
BBC has become the headstone of antisemitism and antisemitic propaganda. Al Jazeera North should be it's name. Why must news from Gaza head up every newscast when the Russians are doing things much worse in the Ukraine. A pox on the BBC
“BBC's children website is another quality resource...”
BBC's children website is another quality resource for parents and a fun place for children. It has games, activities, audio and video. BBC is one of the pioneer organizations in the broadcast industry. They are not only trendsetter but they also follow a rigorous quality policy. Which means parents can be sure that their children are in the safe hands.
“Basic”
A basic news website, with surprisingly thin coverage, even of UK news. The news is given in no detail, but is inclined to exaggerate the "news" value of its reports. It seems politically neutral, but in fact it reports the mainstream, and avoids anything controversial. A lot of the reports are banal and you wonder how it ever got passed by an editor. This is not a newspaper site. If you want journalism go elsewhere. If you want stuff that is short and easy to read, go to the bbc.
“This is really great site”
This is really great site. It is very trustworthy and reliable source of information. You can find there information about weather, sport and of course news. Also information about entertainment and lifestyle as a food, health, history and nature have their place on this site. You can select from variety information about You can watch it in TV, online or listen in radio. I like it.
“What a great service, to be able watch back, online,...”
What a great service, to be able watch back, online, programs that have aired on the BBC over the last seven days. Really useful if you have a busy social schedule. They have intergrated it with the Playstation 3 and BT Vision, so now you can use the service through your TV. One thing that is a little annoying, is that you can only use in when in the UK, which is understandable because it's funded by our licence fee, but it would be nice to use when on holiday.
“BBC provides most valuable and authenticate news across...”
BBC provides most valuable and authenticate news across the world. I really appreciate. But One thing i had noticed which disappoint many even me is that BBC focusing or creating healies only Western and European counties and giving less focus to Asian counties
“They're a joke”
While all is honky dory for anyone outside the UK, Those who live in the UK are being pestered on a daily basis by TV licence goons going round people's door's, thumping windows as well as your front door and threatening them with a £1000 fine or prison or both because you don't have a TV licence. The price the BBC expects you to pay for even owning a TV, whether you watch live TV or not is £145.50. Your having to pay that on a yearly basis. Even if you only use a telly for playing video games from a console, your still expected to buy a licence. Yes, I know, that is why I titled this review as a joke, because no doubt, many of people who don't live in the UK will be reading this will be literally rofl, but it is right, the BBC are nothing but bullies, if you don't have a licence in owning a telly, your actually breaking the law..
“The BBC (AKA The Biased Bulls**t Corporation)”
The BBC always follow the leftist path when it comes to reporting on poltical and major world events. They may throw in a lot of meaningless junk as filler inbetween which would be considered unbiased and factual, while also useless. Unfortunately the British people are still forced into paying for the garbage produced by the BBC, when it fails to represent the views of the majority of the public at large, Hense why they disable and block comments when it comes to their content. Hopefully as their viewership continues to decline, they will realise the error of their ways and make a change for better, I won't hold my breath tho.
“What a great service”
What a great service, to be able watch back, online, programs that have aired on the BBC over the last seven days. Really useful if you have a busy social schedule
“Promotes Trump with skewed reporting”
BBC world news is the new Fox News. It covers in full every press conference trump gives. Sometimes he's on for 20 minutes just rambling. Tonight nothing positive about the Democratic convention. Instead? A headline TRUMP OUTSHINES THE DEMOCRATS. WHY? Because he called on the enemy of the free world, Putin, to find Hilary Clintons lost emails. He already got the Russians to hack the DNC. The BBC IS BACKING TRUMP ALL THE WAY. DISGUSTING!
“Not bad”
Normal source, but sometimes there are really not important pieces of news. I want to read more information about political situations in the international area.
“Great site, seems to be first with news stories most...”
Great site, seems to be first with news stories most of the time. One complaint is their poor coverage of Canadian news.
“News app is awful”
Dreadful update to the news app. It is now awful, won't use it any more, change it back, it's rubbish
“Charity scams.”
The bbc are currently been investigated foe online charity just giving scams. They are now currently investigated for money laundering and fraud Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately.
