Is avemco.com Legit?

Dealing with Avemco has always been easy from my first application for renters' insurance. The renewal process is even easier and they alert you that a renewal is coming up in plenty of time.I just wish they were a little more easy for us "more mature" pilots when it comes to insuring a plane we might like to own.But overall, great folks to deal with.

They send out renewal reminders early, paperwork is straight forward and personnel are easily reached. Answered my question on the first call

I was a customer for 25 years and only left because I sold the plane. The rates were fair, and their discounts helped encourage me to keep up my piloting skills. I upgraded to a plane they don't cover, otherwise I'd still be a customer.

I chose Avemco for my C-35 Bonanza that I purchased on December 18, 1995 and have renewed every year.since. They have given me discounts when I joined the American Bonanza Society, when I got my Instrument Rating and when I got my Multi-engine rating. I have not searched for any other company.

When I call I want to talk to someone , if your busy you should take my number and call me back when you have time , I don’t have time to sit on the phone and listen to your cute gimicks

Prompt response when needed ,reliable . Avemco was my initial insurance company for my Piper in 2003 . Now I have a Beechcraft sierra and did-not hesitate to rejoin Avemco . I highly recommend Avemco.

Avemco has always been keen to acomodate my needs and reward my continuous business with them. That's how great relationships are build. Their staff is friendly and knowledgable, never hesitate to find a better option. The only caveat and constructive criticism I have, would be the lack of an online customer portal. It would be great if one is available in the future.

I have never had to file a claim, but when I've had questions on my policy, the staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable. My automatic payments are seamless. The yearly updates are easy to use with their online system.

Whoever helped my husband figured out why he paid his policy twice. We didn't remember that he had a less expensive auto renewal feature.

Renewal is never an issue. We simply ask for the coverage we feel fits our needs as a flying club and wait for the quote. When questions do arise about assigning the correct value to our aircraft, a phone conversation will offer sound advice.

The speed and customer service - I was literally at the desk of the FBO and they got me insured over the phone so I could tell the FBO I had renters insurance.

Liked the 10% discount. Didn’t like the requirement to get a biannual flight review every year. Pilots over 75 are perfectly capable to self asess our ability to fly without an annual check ride. With all the FAA requirements to stay current, you’re overdoing it. The company won’t reduce risks significantly and will only cause me increased costs. Also, your decision to require an annual health checkup for basic medical is also redundant and unnecessary. Several flying organizations fought hard get basic medical approved as is. Again your company must think you know more than others about the basic medical risks, which reduce my paperwork load. Most of us over 75 get an annual health check anyway. You only increased my paperwork by requiring an annual (basic) health check. You really didn’t reduce risks of insurance me.

You increased the cost of my policy by over $200.00 a year! And to make matters worse l'm only allowed to buy liability!!

The initial issue I had of Avemco was the unexpected need for a biennial flight review and basic med exam annually instead of the standard FAA requirements of 2 and 4 years. I was contacted by Avemco and the issue resolved.It takes time to schedule and fly a biennial flight review! Can't be done immediately in Honolulu due to shortage of flight instructors. I got it done anyway after about a month, even though I have a year left on the flight review, according to FAA requirements. I also obtained a current BasicMed medical even though FAA standards say it's not due for 2 more years. When insurance requirements unexpectedly differ from FAA standards, insurers must allow customers sufficient time to allow conformance.

Bought my first tailwheel plane about a week ago. Having zero tail wheel hours, My options were limited for getting insurance. Avemco was $2400 cheaper than the only other place that would offer me insurance. Was super quick to get me a quote and get my policy started!

Auto renue. Is very easy and convenient however I just sold my airplane and I need to get reimbursed for the unused time
