amazon.co.jp Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives amazon.co.jp one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 83. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 83 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to amazon.co.jp's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning amazon.co.jp, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between amazon.co.jp and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of amazon.co.jp. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of amazon.co.jp, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. amazon.co.jp is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether amazon.co.jp has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether amazon.co.jp boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, amazon.co.jp.

Ordered important OA for our production company that was scheduled to arrive within 2 days. Suddenly the arrival date changed to more than one week out! Called CS and they said it was due to Prime Day unexpected volume. They could only offer a refund or we could wait. That's unacceptable as the substantial delay is detrimental to our company. When I asked to speak wtih a supervisor the put me on an extended hold. When I finally was connected with a "team leader" I found out that actually there was a problem with our credit card processor and that the delay would've continued without us knowing why! The team leader was able to clear things up, but had we continued to reply upon the initial CS rep, we would've incurred more damage by not meeting our business deadline due to Amazon not delivering our needed equipment.
Taxes and shipping costs not justified, Amazon.co.jp offers exclusive editions in Japan at more attractive prices than import stores but you will often receive your items with defects, yes, despite the very high price of taxes and shipping costs, Amazon.co.jp does not protect your items at all, no bubble wrap and other protective films. In short, if you manage to contact them, you will get 500 yen in compensation, a shame! Last important thing, if you make return, exemple France to Japon, you will pay the shipping cost( 49 huge euros ) and it's not refund...Run away!!
Ordered 4 items. Only received 2. Looked online and saw they had split the delivery into two. Ok I think no big deal the other stuff will arrive soon...Except it didn't . Soon after just refunded it saying it couldn't be delivered. The mail saying this stopped just short of blaming me for it, but given it was the same order which Amazon decided to split into two and the first half arrived with no issues.... clearly their problemOne of the two items is now no longer in stock and the other is in stock but more expensive than it was before making it not worth re-ordering..Would not use Amazon jp again unless I really couldn't find something somewhere else
I want my money back for deliThey sent a wrong item. This item was 10 times more expensive than the item I had to receive. I sent it back. In order to send it back, I had to spend 260 euros. Now they want to refund me, but only with a crappy amazon gift card, which was never mentioned before. That's what you get from their mistakes
Extremely poor service. There are numerous bootleg items and scam artists listed as third-party sellers on the site. Support is trash, the help chat doesn't connect 9 times out of 10 and the A-to-Z guarantee process is opaque and communicates exceptionally poorly. They are happy to facilitate scammers and dishonest sellers. Avoid if at all possible and use only for very cheap items - though for those you're likely better-off going to AliExpress. The cheap items from the two sites are generally exactly the same.
Useless. Ordered 3 items to be shipped to my Tokyo hotel. First they said my payment method was declined but I see payment actually went through on my card. Then the order was accepted but I got a random message saying there was some kind of shipping error and they are refunding me. Not at all like Amazon US or Australia. Will be cancelling my account once the refund is confirmed.
Purchased a Japanese Domestic Market Casio watch. Received in US only 3 days from the time it left Japan via DHL. Item was genuine. Well packaged. The only glitch was my credit card issuer initially flagged the transaction as suspicious and denied the charge. After telling them it was indeed me, I resubmitted the same credit card for payment, without a glitch. Would definitely use Amazon Japan again.
Great service. Deliveries are fast and punctual and easily arrangeable at Family Mart or Lawson shops open 24/7. The customer care, available in English within seconds on chat, offers outstanding service. You can't beat it. I really feel a valued customer.Just a couple of things which could be improved. Not all the products yet have a full description in English, and sometimes there are items sold by private sellers which are orders of magnitude more expensive than on Amazon.com, not sure why.
Amazon japan and it’s customer service is absolutely rubbish. They aren’t helpful. if you need help you can’t even contact them. Unfortunately , I am not going to shop again. I don’t recommend Amazon japan. Customer service in United Kingdom is far better than Amazon japan.
I've been a long time customer with Amazon Japan since 2014. The only things I ever buy from here are Japanese manga, books and magazines. It's a wonderful thing that they do international deliveries which makes my life so much easier. The prices are decent and deliveries are usually fast too. My most recent order was placed on June 6th and I received my parcel on June 10th which was amazing! This was super fast considering the current situation, I was expecting some delays. 5/5.
Very poor customers service. They don't send another package or give money back for lost product even It's lost in delivery process. We live in military base so we put very pacific address and still got lost!!! It's also expensive anyways. Nomore using Japan Amazon!!! It's worst!!! They don't even have customer service numbers!!! They just take money and don't want to deal with after what!!!
Haven't had any major issues. I love that they ship to other countries, makes acquiring Japan exclusive products possible.I tend to be cautious in what I purchase, as I'd imagine returning an order from Ireland to Japan would be complicated and expensive. However, I have not had any bad fulfilment experiences.Delivery to Ireland uses DHL, I was absolutely shocked at how fast delivery is all the way from Japan to Ireland - less than a week! Well worth the delivery price. My only criticism is that select products do not allow pre order cancellation. Had an issue where I wanted to cancel an item recently, but this was not allowed. To their credit this is stated on product pages before you order, however, this is still frustrating nonetheless.
ORDER # 503-9750612-5504621Pacakge for the books I've ordered was ridiculous, no padding at all, only a soft cardboard bag. All the items got damaged. I wanted to talk with someone to explain the situation and show them pics of the problems but they only offer a complciated overseas return option.SHAMEFUL SERVICE.
Uploaded my negative review regarding this third party seller (eおもちゃやさん) who sold me a poor condition item with poor level of packaging, Amazon Japan simply removed my negative feedback. So don't trust those sellers with high rating as Amazon Japan only publishes the good ones. Their rating system is truly unreliable .....will not be making any purchase from this platform with unethical practice. I strongly believe this 3rd party seller (eおもちゃやさん) is getting rid of those less ideal condition goods by selling them to international customers.
Very disappointed with Amazon Japan service recently. First point is expired day products. They accepted to sell very much short expired day items and you can't return such products. Once you received you must eat!! until tommorow otherwhise the product is expired. And price for such products is same! Just half year before Amazon has been accepted return short expired day items. NOW - NOT. Suppose bussiness is going down and they are trying to increase profit using such way. Unhappy people will move to Rakuten, but Amazon doesnt care about that. Alright. It is time to move to Rakuten. Bye byee Amazon!
can't even manage to run a functioning web site. right now i can't login or change my password. I make orders that dissapear after getting email confirmation and am unable to contact customer service. for such a big company they don't get there most basic services right.
Needed to buy some books that were only available on the Japanese Amazon website. Was hesitant at first to buy all the way from Japan, but everything went as smooth as with Amazon.co.uk. Very fast, albeit expensive, shipping. There's an option to show parts of the website in English. Altogether, perfect experience and very happy with the special books.
Great site, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT UNLESS YOU CHAT IN JAPANESE. I ordered a $100 worth of Japanese books which got delayed and possibly lost in the mail. My order showed that I could ask for an immediate refund BUT the English-speaking customer service emailed to say that I needed to contact the shipping service directly and that "If they tell you that they lost your package, then please have them contact us directly at Amazon.co.jp." Really? Japanese-speaking chat service refunded me immediately.
So far the best experiences with amazon japan. instead of ordering expensive cd and dvd imports in the west, go directly to amazon in japan, save some money and receive safe and speedy delivery. in japan they know how to give service. will be coming back for more
I have experienced Amazon India and trust me it ensures best service and customer care. Amazon Japan is not good. It has many issues and frustrating experience. They rely on the courier company to deliver and they are pathetic. Both agencies just finger point towards each other and customer is left unattended. Not sure if there is any alternate option to shop online shopping in Japan?

“Amazon Customer Service Phone #”

Amazon can be reached by telephone by calling *******331. Somehow you probably got on a subscription list. Have them look it up and delete from your account. I am assuming you have an account. If not just give them the card number you are being charged on and they will check it out. Good Luck!

“Scammed by amazon japan”

I ordered $1010 worth product from amazon japan to Canada/Vancouver. It was a pico 4 vr headset and I ordered 2 of them costing $505 each after all the tax, import fees etc! Orders arrived in 4 days with DHL i was excited went to grab them and they were so light. Came in 2 boxes then i knwew they sent me something wrong. Anyways I opened one of the box while recording and it is a cheap $#*! $2 toy vr headset! One of those you put your phone in but mini version. Someone in Japan put the pico4 sticker on these and they sent me freaking a toy. I got scammed basically. After I contacted them, they said they can't send replacement because it's sold from a 3rd party seller which is a lie! You can see it's shipped and sold by Amazon japan and even on pico4 page shows amazon japan is the only authorized retailer for it! For the refund, they want me to send back the stupid toy back, so they can refund me! Also, they are asking me the send it back as the value i have paid for the real headset which is illegal and not right! Also i have to pay for shipping and wait until it arrives to them. Seriously, i am 6-7 years prime member in Canada. If anything happens like this they send the correct item right away or refund no questions asked. Amazon japan should not operate if its not in Amazon quality service. Tip for consumers:Dont use amazon japan!!! Products used:Pico 4 vr headsets ordered but got something else $2 cheap Toy Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Thieves!”

Theft!... from a cancelled order. Amazon.jp say they do not take payment until goods are dispatched. Seller could not fulfil/dispatch order and cancelled it. Amazon DID take the money but claim they did not. I have bank proof that they did. Amazon refuse to give refund or proof of payment not taken. DO NOT DEAL WITH AMAZON JAPAN! Tip for consumers:If not actually in Japan, do not use this site. Products used:None delivered Service Returns Quality

“Great for users in U.S. A”

The prices are really good especially for when you want anime merchandise. I purchased Vocaloid voicebanks from here and if you're in need of actually getting something not able to ship to your location, use a proxy! Simple to use and really good. Amazon Jp has wayyy more anime merchandise and for me a fan of vocaloid, a lot of voicebanks and other softwares such as synth v, voiceroid, etc. Shipping is expensive on some items not a problem for me as vocaloid voicebanks are really lightweight. Tip for consumers:Google translate. Products used:Vocaloid, anime merchandise Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“I like the idea of the service very much.”

There are so many cool items there and the sortiment is pretty wide. This service is extremely suitable especially for those who are fond of Japan and its culture.

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
