alamo.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives alamo.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 82.9. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Reliable. Legitimate. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 82.9 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to alamo.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Reliable. Legitimate. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a reliable and secure website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning alamo.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between alamo.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of alamo.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of alamo.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. alamo.com is an innocuous website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether alamo.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether alamo.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, alamo.com.

1) I had booked a larger car which they didn't have and gave me a smaller car. feel massively ripped off. told i could upgrade for extra cost i said i had already paid an expensive car, the got what i consider a down grade.2) car smelled of tabacco.3) front left tyre was very worn and should not have been given to me in that worn state.4) Car had an awful noise underneath it, clearly was not the best mechanical state.5) The alamo counter in airport was not staffed, called a number and told to walk to another location in a perking lot. Conosdering it was late in the evening and walking with bags and kids, not ideal. very annoying.6) emails sent from alamo are in turkish not english, seriously what is the point!7) at the counter in parking lot they did not speak english to any understandable degree, such a convoluted process to hire a car.......was very annoying and stressful.
Like many car rental companies in South Africa, this one is a scam too. They say they take your car rental fee and security deposit in one transaction, and they refund you the security deposit, but they never do. Effectively, you are paying more than 2x for the car than specified in the contract.
Terrible experience.Agent at the counter awful and zero helpful. We have paid via an agency (doyouspain). Once at the counter and about to pay the agent asked for a card with the name on it. My partner was the driver and I have asked to pay with mine CC and also to be the main driver if that would have helped. He refused also to give an new car with a new reservation loosing the previous reservation. To do not ruin totally our holiday we went to Europe car that we ZERO problem gave us the car premium customer service premiumCar!!!
Absolutely brilliant. Highly recommend. Booked in advance from the UK for a fortnight, standard SUV. Arrived and the lady helping us at Melbourne International Airport, Florida, was so polite and helpful. We were upgraded to a premium SUV, Dodge Durango. Incredible to drive, very luxurious, plenty of space. Clean and full tank of fuel. It was so easy to communicate with them by email. Handing the car back in was so quick and easy. Car had low mileage. Only thing we needed to do was top up tyre pressure slightly but we drove 650 miles so to be expected. Will definitely use Alamo again. No pressure to upgrade or buy extras, had heard good things about them before and won’t use anyone else in future. Thank you!
We ordered a full size SUV, and when we arrived it was not available, and they tried to downgrade us, which we refused, and then got an upgrade instead. Then the wanted to charge us 4 times the deposited which was stated in our rental agreement, and they also wanted to increase our own liability to the double if what was stated.I told the man that it was not acceptable, and then he started threatening us that we just couldn't get the car unless we accepted the new terms.Since I had three kids with me and it was 21 in the evening we were forced to accept.I would warn people about Alamo
Prepayment Scam - DO NOT prepay for a car under any circumstances. They will take your money as a prepayment and then take it a second time when you drop the car back to them and conveniently have no record of the first payment. This is all despite your email confirmation proving a payment was taken prior to you collecting the car.Worst of all, they just fob you off with “we are investigating this at regional level” and no one ever gets back to you. I’m a now having to complete the paper work to do a chargeback to recover my money.
Rented a car from Launceston, the staff were amazing and made us feel at ease. Would recommend them to anyone!
When I went to collect my car from Gatwick, staff kept me waiting 45 mins then said they were trying to locate it. Eventually after complaining I was given an upgrade, a Mercedes EQC which I really didn't want the responsibility of. A day after returning the car to the staff in Gatwick I received a call asking when I was returning their car. I had to ring their customer services who asked me a number of times where I had returned it to. I had done exactly what I was supposed to and gone through the return procedure with a member of staff. Hopefully they can find the car, intact, but I suspect the matter isn't over. At least I'm on CCTV returning it. I would only use Alamo/Enterprise in future if I had absolutely no other choice. Looking at the TrustPilot score they obviously don't care how they're perceived.
Your rental car company doesn’t understand people who have disabilities. As someone who has a visa debit your staff doesn’t get it if someone wants to rent a vehicle and the travel agent says you can your staff says NO then you need to talk to each and be on the same page and not say something that isn’t true. Your staff and you company suck!
I loved the smooth of the process. Excellent that we could choose among dozens of different make and models of cars that have the aame cost of rental. We chose a hyunday, tucson with 19k miles and a lot of driving assists features that make the car almost drive by itself in the endless traffic lines between miami and weston, The car also had cameras everywhere including frontal. Huge screen. Friendly inferfast with our phones (both at the same time). Everything was fast picking up and dropping off the car. Super cheap rental. I picked up the car inii intern airport and returned it to fort Lauderdale without aditional cost. Almost all the rental companies charge a fee for returning the car to a different place. I could use my insurance. So, I didn't pay extra for it. They also have text service where you can ask questions or report a problem. It is my first time using Alamo and in the future I will be renting cars only with them. I recommend it 100%. 🤩
We hired a car from Luton, the car we hired was not suitable for our needs so the agent on the day Babz helped us with an upgrade. We had the car 4 days on day 2 we noticed it stalling unfortunately for us where we stayed and because of the bank holiday we would have been stuck without a car. We just had to take our time, and be more cautious till we could get the car back to them. The staff were very understanding and showed much respect and remorse on there side for not being a position to swap the car swiftly due to the bank holiday and some services delayed. Instead they offered us a deal on our next hire thanks to both Martin and Babz for compensating us for the inconvenience of the car not working as it should have. What a lovely crowed.
I fixed to pick up a car at 15:30, I reached to car pick up center at 14:48 the staff told me my car is under cleaning and asked me to wait in the lobby. At around 15:30 we got the car. When I returned a car, they charged me one hour rental, calculated fm the time 14:48 I email to them, they only refund around 60%. It is not acceptable that they didnt refund full amount to me. I emailed 3 times to ask them the reason for not fully refund, however, no reply till now.
I made a reservation well in advance to secure the best price. Upon arrival, I approached the counter, and the representative told me that my driver’s ID couldn’t be read by the scanner, which supposedly made it invalid. I showed my US passport and explained that it was a Real ID, with no prior issues or reasons for it to be problematic. I asked her to contact a manager to address the situation since the scanner was likely giving incorrect information, but she claimed that she was the Branch Manager and couldn’t help further.I stepped away from the counter and called customer support. The customer support manager listened to my issue and asked me to hand the phone to the manager at the counter. After speaking with her, the manager scanned my driver’s license again and confirmed that it was successfully verified this time. I lightheartedly remarked, without any hint of rudeness, “So, it turns out the issue was with the scanner.”To my surprise, the manager then stated that she was canceling my reservation because I had been rude to her. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Even after that, I remained calm, as I didn’t want to ruin the start of my vacation. I sincerely hope that no one else has to experience a situation like this, where a manager, for personal reasons, decides to humiliate you, causing you to lose time, money, and positive energy.
Absolutely fantastic car hire company, the staff we amazing, the convenience of collecting the car just metres away from the arrivals and baggage claim was so lovely, we were upgraded to the most stunning car and utilised the tank refill option saving us stress and money on trying to find a petrol station. Would highly recommend.
We rented a seven seater for our holiday in France. My husband picked it up the night before we left but on the way home noticed strange clanging noise. Called them back and eventually they sent a tow truck with a mechanic who said the brakes were in a bad state and it should never have been given out like that. After some arguing they agreed to swap but only if my husband took it back the next morning which made all of our holiday preparations much more stressful! The car they replaced it with wasn’t much better - fault light, dirty, bits falling off. Very disappointed as we paid a lot of money for sub standard service
The rental itself was Ok, but problem in the fuel indicator cause it to show incorrectly that the tank isn’t full. I have fuelled twice to full in the drop off location, but despite that Alamo charged me a gas fee. I opened 2 applications in their customer service and didn’t get any response.
They rented me a car with broken A/C in 97degree heatThey insisted I return the car, but would not fix or replace, I had to take a totally different make and model of vehicleThat car had a check engine light come on and I had to return that as well. I spent HOURS of my own time returning their BROKEN cars and they then CHARGED me for gas in those cars
We hired a car for week long holiday in Ibiza for €370. The extra insurance charge to avoid a €1500 excess, for any damage, however minor, was €300 euros presented at the point of key pick up. Some car hire firms just can’t help themselves. If you want to avoid feeling ripped off on Day 1 of your holiday, choose another car rental company.
Terrible and dishonest company with extremely poor customer service.I rented a car from Alamo (Enterprise) through trip.com, and when I went to collect the car, the representative mentioned that their computer system was not operational and I should wait. After 2 hours it became apparent that the issue was not being resolved, although I noticed some other customers were still receiving their cars (In retrospect I suspect that Alamo had rented my car to another customer who paid full rate at the booking desk).Thereafter I was advised I should cancel the booking, for which I explained that I will lose the booking fee and suggested he would need to cancel the booking, which he agreed to do.After contacting trip.com customer service they confirmed no cancellation request had been made.A few days later I again went to the office and he again confirmed that he made the cancellation to his back office. He was however unwilling to cc me or allow me to see the email. The chap looked lazy and I suspect never sent any email. Alamo customer support helpline also suggested a cancellation will be made, but the woman on the call was unhelpful and rude. After three days I eventually found a car available at Budget. The service was superior in every way possible and the price was fine. I am now at six weeks and it seems that Alamo (Enterprise) are still contesting the issue despite me demonstratingsignificant expense associated with using taxis and the Budget car in the interim.Alamo offer the worst customer service I have experienced in Saudi Arabia and are dishonest in the extreme.
We had a great experience with a rental from LAX - Paul deserves a special mention for going out of his way to find us an upgrade and getting it cleaned and ready to go super quick when we arrived. Drop off was fast and hassle free with regular shuttle buses to the terminal.

“Generally pretty good”
Generally pretty good. Airport counter was closed at pick-up (mid-afternoon, 10-12 customers), and the National agency staff were covering. A little confusion, but they sorted it things out and I didn't have to wait too long before I got a car. Drop-off crew was quick, efficient, and pleasant. Would rent with Alamo again.
“Thank you for your excellent service”
Thank you for your excellent service. Although we initially rented a Jeep, the vehicle was unavailable at the pickup time. We were offered an alternative, and we chose a Mercedes CL class. While the car was great overall, we experienced an issue with CarPlay, which made navigation challenging, especially when approaching exits or needing to change routes. We reported this issue to the Alamo team, and we hope it gets resolved so the next driver can enjoy a seamless experience. Thanks again!
“Great service from the pick up at the airport through...”
Great service from the pick up at the airport through selecting our requested car and return. Several vehicles ready for our choosing exactly as we had reserved and in great order. Value is very good - certainly recommend renting from Alamo in the future as well.
“Fastest car pick up times compared to other companies...”
Fastest car pick up times compared to other companies previously used at San Diego Airport. Prices are competitive and comparable to the other first tier rental companies. At counter upgrade options are extremely competitive in price. Requested availability of an upgrade car by model name and went from a standard lowest priced car to a minivan for only $20 extra a day. Never hurts to ask. Cars are always new and clean. Conveniently located right in front of the airport shuttle bus stop making things as simple as possible for the pick up experience. Counter associates are not pushy in trying to sell options and insurances, and get you your keys as quickly as possible. Extremely efficient work flow. If you are a US license holding renter that just wants to pick up keys and go with no adjustments, I would try the self service kiosks.
“The agent at the Wil, Rogers, International Airport,...”
The agent at the Wil, Rogers, International Airport, Alamo rental counter was simply fantastic! I felt like I had a brand new best friend in Tiwan — she was considerate, funny and a pleasure to work with! I will definitely rent from Alamo again in the future!
“At first I was treated rather rude by an employee however...”
At first I was treated rather rude by an employee however after speaking with the manager it was cleared up and things were fine that's the only reason for the four stars. I do need to say you have to many car categories and I feel like I'm being taken as a fool when choosing what to pay for vs what is assigned appon arrival. All the cars available in my opinion are the same size when you get there. The same goes for the "SUV" category. I am a bigger body guy so when I order a full size I expect something big i can fit into not just what's available at that time especially when i have booked this months in advance. I also travel quiet often and only use Alamo. I feel as though I may be discriminated against due to my weight and size of vehicle your employees try to put me in. They are also not very handicap accessible. It's kind of ridiculous that a larger vehicle with the same types of interior are hundreds more expensive for those that need them. I think this is discrimination. You should seriously consider revamping your categories and prices and any discrimination policy you might have twords handicap and overweight individuals.
“Worst Customer Service Ever”
I booked a reservation on 05/23/24 and paid $311.53 for my daughters honeymoon for the period of July 15 2024 to July 19 2024 the confirmation #*******051. Everything was great until she showed up to pick this car up. They wouldn't let her get this car under this reservation due to she didn't have the credit card that it was booked with. Ok maybe due to fraud this could be understandable. Well she booked the car at her expense, you would have thought that they would have refunded the credit card that was used for the reservation at that time but no. Now they have been paid twice for this same rental car. I have called customer service trying to get a refund almost every business day since, when asking about this reservation I am being told by every customer service representative that it had been cancelled. But still no refund, they promise you it is being taken care of and it takes 5 to 7 business days for the refund, well it may take that for the transaction to be completed, but it should show on your bank statement that it is in progress within a couple hours if they actually did anything. So far as of 24 July 24. They have not credited me the $311.53 I am in need of this so I may pass this on to my daughter. I thought Alamo was a pretty customer oriented company, but was I wrong. I will not use this company again.
“Alamo Are Greedy Sharks!”
Alamo are sharks! I had made reservations recently on July 6th, 2024, to travel from Pensacola, Florida, to Kalispell, Montana on August 14-18,2024. But because of wrong information I had been provided by a music store about the event I wanted to attend, I needed to cancel my trip 36 hours later. I had made all my reservations through Priceline. I was able to get a full refund from United Airlines, American Airlines and Travelodge by Wyndham, but Alamo refused to refund a single penny of the $635 they charged me for renting an economy car for 4-days. My reservations were made 5-weeks in advance. There is absolutely no reason for Alamo to be that stubborn to refund a customer's money. The only reason is plain old ungodly greed. I contacted Alamo and kindly asked them to refund most of my money. I kindly told Alamo that I don't mind paying a reasonable penalty for cancelling within 48 hours, but Alamo refused to cooperate. They couldn't care less about ethics. They horribly mistreat people, financially taking advantage of their customers. I will NEVER use Alamo again!
“Dirty vehicle and overcharged”
Dirty vehicle and overcharged. I was quoted $422 but was charged nearly $100 over that.
“Alamo car rental Barcelona El Prat”
On 31.05.2024 I booked a car with the Alamo company. An advance payment was made. Upon arrival, the manager, seeing my passport of the Russian Federation, refused to rent me, referring to the fact that my documents and credit cards do not comply with the rules of their company. For the first time I encountered a refusal on the basis of nationality. The prepayment was never returned. In a neighboring company, all my documents were arranged, they gave me a car. To avoid this kind of nationalism, don't use the Alamo at Barcelona Airport. There, the girl manager considers herself a god. Service Value Quality
“An exceptional welcome the welcome is very courteous...”
An exceptional welcome the welcome is very courteous good service thank you.
“Great Service and Great Experience!”
Great Service and Great Experience! Will be back next time!
“Easy check out and check in procedure”
Easy check out and check in procedure. Van was in excellent shape and clean.
“Vehicle was filthy upon pick up and stained inside”
“Staff was very friendly and helpful!”
Staff was very friendly and helpful! Made it such an easy experience. Thank you!
“Great Customer service”
Great Customer service. No wait time, car was ready once we checked in.
“Best car rental”
I recently rented from Alamo in Phoenix Airport. My itinerary had gotten messed up through Expedia and the manager there was so helpful and understanding and gracious with me. He was able to get me an even better deal and I appreciated him so much that day as it was such a stressful traveling day for me. He made my day so much better and I will always choose Alamo from now on. His name was Taylor and he will take care of you!
“Best place to rent a car.”
It's been said, "you get what you pay for." In terms or car rentals, this is very true. In having moved our daughters in and out of dorms every years for for 5 years, we've rented many vehicles. Every time we ever rented from Alamo, there was never any kind of problem. Unlike other car rental sites where there was always some sort of issue, the cars at Alamo are always clean, in good running condition and ready to go. From now on, it's Alamo, all they way!~
“Terrible service”
Our flight was delayed by 2 hours. When we arrived every other car rental kiosk was open except for Alamo. When speaking to the other companies, they all wait for the last plane to arrive. Then to get a refund is tedious. Definitely would not recommend this company. Service Value
“Worst Rental Company”
Alamo rents cars to tourists and are not required to have insurance because they insure their own vehicles. But when their customers cause an accident then Alamo refuses to pay for damages, pain, suffering and car totaled. Their big corporate lawyers help them get away with it! This would of got resolved within 2 months if I would of been rear ended by an uninsured motorist but because this is Alamo it's been dragged 5 years in court and still refuse to pay the minimum requirement that the rest of us are required to pay for. Shame on you Alamo! Service Value
“Happy so far with their branch in Olbia Airport”
This is my preferred rental car company in Sardinia... rented 5 times so far and never had any issue (unlike others nearby). Recommended.
“WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!”
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Location near San Diego Airport... I hate this place... customer service was rude and a bunch of liars...

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
