Happy with my orderI thought I'd try an order from American eagle because it kept coming up in my searches and they had a few bits on sale. It took a while to arrive so I checked the reviews which I maybe should have done before ordering because they weren't very good and lots of people had issues. I decided to email them to see when my order will arrive and they confirmed it was about to be posted. The items arrived today and they are all really nice. I haven't returned anything so I don't know what their returns are like.

RUN AWAY!!! I've been ordering from AE for many years. I received my order last week, but there was an item missing. I contacted customer service and they indicated that they cannot refund or reship the missing item. In other words, they are not responsible if there are issues with the shipment. I indicated that the issue was not with the shipping, but that the item was not placed in the package and therefore, they are responsible. Had to argue with a supervisor, who finally refunded the missing item but mentioned that it was an exception and that they wouldn't do it if it occured again. If you don't want to risk paying for items you won't receive, I'd recommend not ordering online from AE.
Ordered a pair of jeans from the American Eagle EU website. After a week of waiting the item has still not been shipped. Contacted customer service and was told that my item would arrive within a few days. Today I got an email stating that my order has been cancelled and that the item is not available anymore?? Really disappointing since I was able to order from the website and essentially paying for something that doesn’t exist. Ordered in Jan. Missed delivery as I wasn't home. Redirected parcel to local post office, never got the email that it is ready for collection. Was told by Royal Mail (UK) items are returned to sender after 14 days. I've worn American Eagle jeans for years, but this is not the same American Eagle that used to be in shopping malls. I ordered jeans online and received some strange stretch pants. I contacted customer service and the best they could do is give me a QR code to send the incorrect order back. Of which I now have to drive 15 miles and wait 5-7 business days for a refund. Do NOT order from these crooks, as they are better off going out of business.
I’m surprised how many negative reviews there are for AE, especially as many of the issues mentioned are due to the delivery service. I’ve ordered clothing online from AE several times over the past few years, and have had a good experience each time. Returns were very easy, and my refunds were processed quickly both times. I live in the Rockies in CO and am hours from an AE store, so I’m glad I can order online with confidence.
Went to the outlet store in Jersey Shore Premium Outlets, picked out a sweater from the sale rack that clearly said '70% off', there were multiple of the same sweater on the rack, and prices were listed eg. $50 now $15. I took it to the cashier and the discount didn't automatically come up so I mentioned it was from the 70% off rack, she called across her colleague who made up some BS about the rack being 'web exclusives' (lol) and told me that everything in the store was 'up to' 70% off.I said that the sign on this sale rack does not say 'up to 70% off' it says '70% off' on a single circular rack with prices clearly marked. And I have no idea what she was talking about with the web exclusive stuff.She rudely argued back and left me frustrated and embarrassed, awful service, glad I didn't end up buying it now as I wouldn't want to be seen dead wearing this garbage anymore.I'm from the UK and this sort of stuff would not fly over here.
Scammers.They send you a wrong item. Tried to refund the money and get the right item. When I contacted them, they pretend to help you in the first mail, when I respond they ghosted me. Instead I get an second mail sent, which says If I don’t respond the mail within 24 hours the case will get closed. Sent them around 6 mails. No answer. Employees name „Pakize“
Horrible shipping! Shipping company lost my items twice, but "accidentally" closed out both items saying they had been delivered. (confirmed via a call to the shipping company). AE refuses to refund my second order saying they already provided a refund once. No one in Customer Service can help. Horrible service. I will never order from them again.
Dishonest and fraudulent advertising. Overpriced pieces of clothing. They put a big sign outside the store saying buy 1 50% off but when you pay they say it's just certain jeans....when asked where it is, they could not even point the location if those discounted items. Very dishonest, baity and fraudulent!!! It's a scam!
Shop somewhere else!! You won't get your package. I was notified today my package was delivered but it wasn't. When I contacted AE customer service they said their shipper many times marks packages as delivered but doesn't deliver them for several days. That is fraud. I will never do business with AE ever again.
Tried to be honest and report that I had already picked up the item that AE kept emailing me was ready. “Elizabeth” disconnected me from live chat before I could look up the order number, even though o had waited several minute for her. “Tiana” claimed to have answered a question that she had not answered. Think I got the order straight, but really disappointed about the rudeness and lack of apology for being disconnected.
Several emails about delays in order. Next email says they cancelled one of my items. Online tracking states the order is at the carrier? Online Chat person tells me the carriers tracking system is down and that she can refund my order and I can call back and get free 2 day shipping via FED-EX. Seriously? I ordered on 12/6. Now it is a week before Christmas and I should trust that my order would actually arrive on-time? No thanks- just lost a customer.
Shopped in our local (FlorenceKY) location last evening. When entering the store, I walked past 4 (one of which was texting on her phone) staff, none of which greeted us or offered assistance in any way. Toward the back of the store, one staff member did assist us with a fitting room. Very disappointing, my teens, shopping with me, even noticed poor service. In my opinion the service has gone down so badly in this location in the past 6 months. Management efforts have gone down very badly, to allow such bad service. I do appreciate your efforts in advertisement for various size.
Customer service is horrible. They fix things to make it impossible to get your order canceled or money back. Stockroom is sitting empty for over a week now with everyone's orders frozen in time. AE's rich liberal CEO's would rather stall the economy than put their employees back to work. Least caring company ever!
I have no issues with the quality of items I order from Aerie or American Eagle. However, their shipping method is unreliable. They use their own company, AirTerra and a variety of “last mile” distributors. Twice my orders failed to arrive and twice I got a refund. The first time, I reordered with a guaranteed Two-Day ship coupon they sent me and the order arrived promptly through USPS. The second time, no coupon was offered and I did not reorder. If you want AE merchandise, purchase at one of their stores or pay extra to get guaranteed two-day ship to avoid the AirTerra network.

“Needs more attentive employees”

Today i went to AEO in Canada and it was horrible, i went inside and all the customer service employees were talking to each other and i tried to ask them something and they kept chatting, they were both employees and the other employees were helping other people, and i understand that they were occupied but the other two didn't try to help neither me nor other customer, and there were only 3 employees helping people so i had to wait until one of them was finish but i most felt uncomfortable and had to leave like that, cleaning was ok and catalog was fine too. “Wrong items delivered. Very poor customer service afterwards”

Last week I ordered two pairs of jeans from AEO Eur. They quickly sent me the package. The package slip included the jeans. Inside the package were 2 men's trousers and a pair of gloves. I immediately contacted customer service. It's not easy with AEO. Customer service is only available via email. So, I have to wait. I received a ticket number. So, I wait. I sent a photo. It was a no-brainer. AEO's response is that if I return the package properly and the wrongly sent items are returned in good condition, I will get my money back. So, I wait. “Online Store is a Scam”

I've been shopping at AE for over eight years and I've always loved their products and customer service. But I want to warn everyone: do not shop the online store! It's been their policy for years to offer free shipping on orders over $50 - I have the receipts - but that seems to have changed with no warning. “Merchandise smelled like smoke!”

My merchandise all smelled of a very strong order of smoke. I'm allergic to cigarette smoke... This resulted in an asthma attack during which I seriously considered going to the ER if multiple breathing treatments didn't calm things down. I contacted AE customer service. “Cheap and ugly clothing at expensive prices”

I have shopped here for years as well as my daughter. I understand that it is a brand more for a younger clientele, however you could still get decent jeans and some basic casual tops. Now, shirts are either crop tops or oversized baggy shirts with hideous prints and terrible quality. You honestly can't order anything on line as it will appear to be full sized but arrive as half a shirt. My daughter can't wear anything from this brand without violating dress code anymore. After so many on line requests to make regular sized shirts it's still an issue. Even in the middle of WINTER. I can't understand charging 40$ for a glorified bra top cheaply made in a sweatshop no doubt. Whoever is designing the clothes needs to be replaced. Bought identical shorts last summer through their web site, i wore them may be 5 times at most, the waist elastic band of the dark one is all loosed. “Poor customer service”

Absolutely terrible customer service. If you don't contact them within an HOUR, you are unable to cancel or edit an order. The online chat is worthless. Manager "unavailable" and no means of escalating. Worst response to a problem from any retail store I've ever experienced. I ordered a 34 size jean online then went to the mall and saw two other items and spent 130$. My husband tried on jeans and found out he's a 32 now. So even though I contacted them within 6 hours, as soon as I returned from the mall, they are unable to do anything to help. They've lost a customer and would have been easy to do service recovery to help turn things around. Reps online have no autonomy or empowerment to do anything but repeat "you had to edit within an hour" and stuck to the policy. “Cargo joggers and woven belt”

I bought a pair of Khaki cargo joggers (short size 0) and a woven belt (women's small) off the website. I love these clothes. The pants are comfortable and not heavy, and the belt is good quality! I wish I had ordered the joggers in size 00 though, as they are very loose on me and don't sit on my waist where they are supposed to. The belt is also a bit too large, so I recommend if you are EXTRA petite and have a size 22 inch waist, get belts elsewhere. Overall I am happy with my purchase. “Worst customer service I've ever experienced”

In my 33 years this is by far the worst customer service I've ever had to experience. They have wasted over 2 hours of my time now and I am being refused a supervisor so I'm just out of my rewards, out of my jeans, and out of luck. I have never been so frustrated I get a pair of freaking pants for crying out loud. I have spent over $400 here in the last 2 weeks but I will never do business with them again.

“Ethical Issues (Living Wage for Workers)”

I love AE clothing. I am saddened to see that they have not taken any steps forward in 1. Reducing pollution and 2. Making sure clothing comes from workers who are paid fair wages/safe conditions. My most recent purchase was underwear and they were from 3 different locations in the world. India, China and Vietnam. Possibly Mexico too. The sewing sadly looked "off" and really made me think about who was making these clothes and how they were being treated. I will no longer buy from here. We all need to do better.

“Don't order from this company”

I placed an order on November 22. It's now December 16 and I still don't have it. I've called twice and talked to two people—both of whom were basically incoherent and hard to hear. Once they told me in a Friday that it would be delivered on Monday. When it was not, they blamed LSO, a local shipping co in Dallas, and told me to contact them. They don't answer the phone and their tracking number doesn't work. AE worst customer service EVER! Still don't know if my granddaughter is getting her Xmas present.

“Men's jeans, great fit, poor quality”

I consistently buy AE jeans because they fit better than any other brand, and the material feels good. I'm 6'1" 185 lbs, wear the Skinnies. I'm not okay with holes in them, and most of them have holes. That's a problem, I don't buy air, but that's what they sell. Sometimes hole-less can be found. The denim of one of my six pair came undone within the fabric so there are now many furrowed ridges on the thighs, see photo; that happened over a period of a few months so they were not returnable. Another problem is consistency. The skinnies now have much tighter calves than before. It's all a bit frustrating but they have the best fit.

“Love the store but online ordering is horrible”

I ordered 4 items for christmas. All 4 items came 10 days later than expected delivery date and with the wrong items. So different from what i ordered that I assume they just shoved anything in the bag to get it out rather than telling me that the no longer have the items available. I ended up having to do some last minute shopping which is not fun at all. Sent it back and still no credit on my credit card. Never order AE online again. What an inconvenience

“SENDS DAMAGED ITEMS”

Aerie currently has a buy 1 get 1 free deal on bras. Both of the ones that I ordered arrived with major creasing on the inside of the cups. They do not look new. I talked to CS using the live chat option and was told I can do a return or exchange via mail. However, I declined since I am sure that the exchanged ones will be damaged as well. That is probably why they are on sale. She did not offer a partial refund or anything for me.

I feel like such a fool for trusting an American company. I'm an elderly lady in UK and thought we could trust Americans but I now realise they are the money grabbing, dishonest folk most of the world think they are. For America to allow one of their companies to rip off people around the globe they must have zero self respect. I'm glad I live in UK where we still have such a thing as integrity. Shame on you american eagle. That symbol of the eagle used to mean honour to your fore fathers. You bring shame to your country.

“Customer service hung up on me!”

After contacting AE via their live chat feature, Paula, a customer service rep, proceeded to abruptly end our chat. Long story short, I asked why i had to pay to return the jeans I purchased when their website clearly states it's FREE. Her response verbatim "you can return them to a store" followed by some fluff about why it's not free, even though it says it is! Please see my attachment as I took a screen shot of our chat. I can honestly say, I've never been so upset over something so simple that turned into a horriblecustomer service problem. Oh boy American Eagle, you just lost a long time customer who's closet is half full of your product

I have been shopping with American Eagle for awhile now, since 2011. The site and in store associates are very helpful. I also love that when they give out coupons it cab be applied to both American Eagle and Aerie. All their clothing's are true to size and quality are great as well! “Amber Sales Associate 839”

Went to AE in Oxford Valley Mall w/ my husband to purchase him a new pair of jeans. Came out of the store w/3 new pair of jeans bc of Amber 839. Amber the sales associate there on Sunday Jan 9.2022 was a great help. She ran back and front w/different sizes colors and style jeans. Also, she made a few suggestions which were great and very helpful. “Fast shipping, expensive”

Ordered a few times, excellent quality jeans and they should be per $60 a pair. Tops are men quality, rayon is NOT your friend cheap fabric these companies use and gouge you for top $$$$. But shipping was fast and free and over all was happy with the jeans.

The staff is extremely helpful and kind. They went above and beyond to help me find the right outfit for my date and even recommended I try the curvy jeans, which is life changing!
