iPhone 6 Tester Scam

How the scam works:

(with video below) Many iPhone users have reported receiving a text message or a pop-up on the screens that states Apple needs 1,000 testers for text messages on the new iPhone 6. Those interested are required to go to a website provided, to register for a panel. Just like during any other fake registration organized by scammers, you are asked for personal information that criminals sell to third parties or use it to steal your identity, depending on how much info you provide.

How to avoid the iPhone 6 Tester scam:

If you get this message, do not respond. Apple is the only one who can enroll you in any tests. Particularly in this case, the call to test text messaging doesn't make sense coming from Apple, since they released the new iOS service called iMessage, which bypasses the normal SMS traffic.
