What scammers have done is created a number of fake messages and rogue application/browser extensions that promise to show you how to disable the new Facebook timeline. By following their instructions, you are installing these browse extensions to your account and give them access to all of your information.

If you click on the link you are taken to a website created just a few days ago, whose domain is probably registered in a country such us Russia, Turkey, India, Ghana, or Malaysia. From here, the scammers encourage you to install a Firefox or Chrome add-on to remove the Facebook Timeline from your account, but in reality installs malware on your device.
