How the scam works:

(with video below) Never call a dealership asking if they have a certain car, model, color, along with any other preferred add-ons. Why not? They will tell you they do have it.

However, once you get there, don't be surprised if they say the car was just sold but they have the same model with a few different and even better features, for only $1,000 more. This is a crafty technique for bringing customers in and extracting more money out of them.

How to avoid:

Never shop for cars through the phone. This is just one of the several scams that you could be a victim of, especially if you are buying your first car.
