Before diving into it, what is essentially a psychic reading?

A psychic reading is a specific attempt to discern information through heightened perceptive abilities; or natural extensions of the basic human senses of sight, sound, touch, taste, and instinct.

These natural abilities are claimed to be clairvoyance (vision), clairsentience (feeling), claircognizance (factual knowing) and clairaudience (hearing), and the resulting statements made during such an attempt. We'll explain below what those four abilities are.

However, most of the people looking for readings are interested in their love life. Lately, many even consider psychic readings over the Internet or even phone.

 

Splitting up with your partner is never easy, and those hurt would do anything to get their loved one back. That's when several people rely on black magic or psychics who claim they will bring the partner back.

Many psychics are advertising their "services" online by promising that the ex-lover will be back within days. Victims pay hundreds of dollars to scammers who are supposed to perform black magic or read the future down and vulnerable.

If the scammers feel there is more room to rip off the victims, they will continuously ask for money to "warn off all the evil spirits and bad energies" in the future.

The astrologer case (or numerologist) is just a classier version of the same scam. For example, you might ask them if you should do business with a particular company or person. The reader will tell you that the astrological arrangement of this company or person you wonder about is either negative or positive just by making stuff up. In the numerologist's case, they'll tell you that you have to get rid of specific numbers from your life in the future.

This one translates to "clear-feeling." Meanwhile, out of the four abilities listed here, the clairsentience is referred to as "the sixth sense." It is the ability to feel the present, past, or future physical and emotional states of others without using the standard five senses  – hearing, smell, touch, hearing, vision, and taste). Those who are clairsentient may also be able to retrieve information from buildings and outside areas invisible to our physical senses. Clairsentience is often associated with what's referred to as the sense of intuition.

 

 

Claircognizance

A person can acquire psychic knowledge without knowing how or why he or she knew it. To be more specific, claircognizance occurs when someone gets a message or thought from their intuition. Maybe you've thought once, "I just know it"?  You may not know how you knew it, but you just did.

According to Aminoapps, "it is difficult to explain and to understand the psychic gift of claircognizance, even for those who have the ability. The main way to determine claircognizance is that the information is received through the mind, and not the heart, the third eye, or the gut."

 

Clairaudience

As you can tell by the name, clairaudience is the supposed faculty of perceiving, as if by hearing, what is inaudible. Or, to make it more convincing from a psychic's perspective when talking to you, clairaudience is the capability of "receiving an intuitive vocal message from the world of spirits or a higher being."
